Chapter Two: Making New Friends!

Within a rather large, extravagant mansion, a humanoid figure sits within his study...

He had white skin with rosy-cheeks, blonde hair with thin light coral streaks on the thicker, pale-blonde highlights, and eyes with light yellow sclera and red pupils. Wearing a red-lined and red-trimmed white popped-collared suit with several golden buttons - his coat worn over a light red-and-white striped waistcoat with two golden buttons and a small, accessorized black bowtie, he appeared to be some sort of circus ringmaster - complete with a set of heeled black knee-high boots, and black leather gloves which covers the majority of his hands. On his left pinkie, he sports a golden ring.

Lucifer Morningstar, the Ruler of Hell, was currently facing a dilemna...

To start with, there was the matter of what happened on Extermination Day just last week.

'Normally, those holier-than-thou hypocrites send about six hundred Exorcists down to kill Sinners: one hundred for each corner of the city, and the remaining hundred in the center.' the thought to himself as he looked at the paperwork scattered across his desk. 'So, imagine my surprise when I see only four hundred Exorcists fly back to Heaven, and two hundred that number dead in my city...'

*sigh* "Oh, this is just fucking peachy..." Lucifer groaned out in frustration, rubbing his temples with his fingers.

At the creaking of the study door, he looked up to find a rather tall woman coming in. She was beautiful - sinfully so - with an hourglass figure wrapped in a sparkling magenta dress complete with a set of matching opera gloves, a pearl choker around her neck, and an extravagant golden tiara adorned with small red jewels. Long blond hair with honey-colored streaks flowed and danced behind her form, her pale lilac skin and light violet eyes with long eyelashes - coupled with her sparkling plum eyeshadow and dark magenta lipstick - made her a sight that would fill women with envy.

Lilith, Queen of Hell and wife to Lucifer, took notice of her husband's disgruntled state of mind.

"My love..." The beautiful queen's voice seemed to soothe his frustration as she walked around the rather large desk. "What troubles you so?"

Lucifer debated on how to tell his wife of the recent news before finally deciding to rip off the bandage altogether. "Someone's killed nearly two hundred Exorcists on the last Extermination Day."

Lilith's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Truly? I always knew that one day the Sinners would rise up and fight back in vengeance, but four hundred? That's..."

"I know." The king answered, looking his wife in the eye. "I've received several calls from up top, demanding to know the Sinner responsible for inflicting such a loss..." *chuckles darkly* " They demand me to collaborate? By what right do they have to demand anything of me, after all they've done?"

Lucifer let his anger flare out for a moment before reigning it back, his wife seemingly unaffected by the display. Folding his fingers in front of his face, the king of Hell managed to calm himself before continuing with a wide grin. "Of course, I said that I would give the matter my utmost attention, but honestly I don't really give a shit. Those hypocritical birds can go fuck themselves if you ask me. I honestly don't care about scouring all of Pentagram City for one Sinner."

Lilith allowed a soft laugh to escape her lips, as she didn't have much sympathy for anything relating to Heaven. "True, true." she agreed, "Although I don't suppose there's any evidence as to their identity, is there?"

With a vicious smirk Lucifer waved his hand as a crystal orb appeared over his desk, and soon a still footage of Naruto and the Exorcist was viewable from within. "This was caught on one of VoxTek's security cameras on Extermination Day." With a poke of his finger, he allowed the footage to begin:

"Give up? Make things easier...? Is that what you want? Why should I die? Why should I stop fighting? Because you said so? Because it's how it has to be? Because it makes your life easier, knowing you can't fight otherwise? You and your sisters come down from Heaven every year, slaughter however many of these people as you want, then just go home and laugh it off like it was nothing while waiting for the next year. Did you really think that it would stay this way forever? And now that someone is choosing to fight back, you're complaining that it's not fair? Life isn't fair, little bird. You should've known better than that."

"...…..Wow. And I thought I was gorgeous."

Narrowing his eyes, the king turned to face his wife. "Lilith..."

"Oh, stop that, Lucy. You know my heart belongs to you alone." The beautiful demoness playfully scoffed before resting her hands on his shoulders. "I wonder exactly how he came to be with such power. Sinners don't normally show that kind of skill, especially newly-arrived ones. The Radio Demon comes to mind, but I highly doubt even he could pull it off..."

"No, they don't. None of them do. Not the ones from Earth, at least..." A pondering look overcame the fallen angel's face before snapping his fingers. Immediately, a large black and red grimoire with white and gold etching became surrounded by red magic before flying out of a nearby bookcase towards the ruling demonic pair. As he caught it within his hands, Lucifer opened the grimoire and began flipping the pages until he found what he was looking for. "Aha! I thought that energy felt familiar."

Lilith peered over to read the page. "...The 'Elemental Nations'? Are you sure? I've never heard of such a place on Earth." She stated with a puzzled tone.

"That's because it's not on Earth. It's a different realm altogether. Only myself and the higher ups in Heaven know of the existence of the realms, my dear; the Nations are but one of them." The king of Hell replied as he started reading of the realm. "I was fortunate enough to have landed there purely by accident before my fall. Back then, however, chakra-" he elaborated by using his finger to point out the description written on the pages. "-had yet to be discovered by the mortals inhabiting that world." Then Lucifer paused, a contemplating look etched upon his face.

"...Lucifer?" Lilith was starting to worry; it was quite rare to see her husband staring off into the distance with such a look. "What is it?"

"...It's not something of common knowledge, but before Heaven had discovered that world, someone - or something - had planted a sort of tree that sprouted fruits of near-limitless power. If one were to consume the fruit, they would be akin to gods amongst men. My father, my brothers and myself were made aware of the dangers and sought to protect the 'God Tree' by any means. For a time, everything was peaceful..." *shrudder* "Until everything changed when someone ate the fruit of the God Tree and lashed out at Heaven. That...that was the one time - the ONLY time - that I had seen my Father gravely wounded."

*Sluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrp*

Naruto was sitting off the ledge of one of the many buildings in the West Side of the city slurping on a bowl of hot steaming noodles he managed to nab on a local street vendor. It was rather easy - the shark-like food cart owner was too distracted looking at a video featuring a famous pornstar called "Angel Dust" to even pay attention, whoever that was. Distracted enough not to see an orange fox make off with one of his noodle bowls.

In any case, after the spectacle he made of killing those angels, Naruto decided to lie low until he felt it safe enough to walk around in public without someone immediately recognizing him.

Then, and only then, would he go out with a disguise...

*Sluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrp* '...Y'know, this isn't Ichiraku's, but I'll take what I can get.'

The blond Sinner looked down at the open brochure in his other hand. He couldn't believe it - a brochure for Hell, of all places. He could've used something like this about a week ago, instead of just sneaking around the city observing the day-to-day life.

'Geez, talk about lazy, lazy design.' He thought with a grumble as he kept reading. 'Oh, look at this: "How To Survive Extermination Day! (Like We Care, But Here You Go!)" Psh, Like I didn't just send them packing last week...'

Naruto shook his head, not wanting to be swimming in negative thoughts as he looked up at the crimson sky of Hell. Having spent little over a week in Pentagram City allowed for the former shinobi to come to terms with his death back home.

'Would Sasuke still be running and rebuilding things topside in his own twisted way? Sure. Do I want some sort of justice for my death? Who doesn't? But what good is that gonna get me? I can't go back, and even if I could, what's waiting for me there? I've been dead for a week, already! Chances are my body's been burned to ashes and everyone's had time to mourn by now...and there's no fucking way I'd let myself come back with that Pedo-Snake's Reanimation Jutsu! ABSOLUTELY NOT!'

Shaking his head in amusement, the week-old Sinner made to eat his noodles when his ears picked up a whimper of pain. Using his chakra to further enhance his senses, Naruto was able to pinpoint the sound from an alley about five blocks away. It wasn't long after sealing away his meal within his bicep that he took off towards the source of pain. Hopping over streets and across buildings was nothing new to him; he'd done it plenty of time back in his village whenever he felt like it after becoming a shinobi. Finally arriving at the source, he dropped down the alley and began to look for the person in question. It was about a good ten seconds before he found them.

Or rather, he found her...

It was a rather slim-figured young woman roughly his age with grayish-lavender skin, dressed in bandages and what seemed to be a deteriorating monochrome battle dress. She had grayish-white hair with faded purple tips kept in a bob-cut, but was starting to grow out. As he got a closer look at her face, Naruto understood why.

Her right eye had a light pink sclera and an ivory white iris, while her left eye...her entire left eye had been covered by dirty bandages, stained with gold.

The whiskered blond hadn't even gotten within five feet of her before the injured woman finally noticed his presence, her sole eye widened in fear as she tried desperately to back away from him. Quickly Naruto raised his hands in an effort to calm her down, not wanting her to be further injured than she already was.

"Hey, hey! Relax, I-I'm not gonna hurt you." He tried to reassure, only for the young woman to suddenly pull out a spear in front of her defensively in an attempt to drive him off.

"S-stay back! I'll kill you, hombre estupido!" She yelled, growling in pain-filled bravado as the whiskered young man before her did halt in his advance. In reality, however, the former shinobi had recognized the shape of the spear - adding to her ruined clothing, he was just now realizing as to the woman's true identity.

"...You're an Exorcist." He muttered, low enough so that only the two of them could hear. The moment those words left his lips, the injured young woman started to panic as she hurriedly tried to make her escape. "Whoa, waitaminute!" Only to recoil in shock as the whiskered blond managed to quickly close the distance between them in the blink of an eye. "Calm down, I meant what I said about not hurting you!"

*Tch!* "Like I'd believe the words of someone who just went on a full-out killing spree of Exorcists last week! What, you just try to tell me everything's going to be fine before stabbing me in the back?!"

"I'm trying to help you, dammit! Shit, why are women so hard to understand?!" Despite the last part of that statement earning him a narrow-eyed glare from the fallen angel, Naruto kept going as he groaned out in frustration. "Crap, screw it! Look, lady, what's it gonna take for you to start believing me?"

The wounded Exorcist growled in warning before leveling her glare. "Impale yourself with my spear"

"Eh?" Naruto blinked at her request. "Come again?"

"Did I fucking stutter, vato?! You want me to trust you after what happened last week, then take my spear and impale yourself through the chest!"

"...So if I do this, then you'll let me help?" The whiskered blond asked.

"..."

The former shinobi sighed as he grabbed ahold of her weapon before holding the very blade just a foot away from his where his heart was. He could feel the woman's gaze locked onto him, checking to see if he would back out of his word.

'This guy's probably gonna try and kill me instead.' The one-eyed exorcist thought to herself venomously. 'He's already killed hundreds of Exorcists, what's one more to him? Especially since I can't really fight back.' As soon as he lifts the spear to harm himself, however, her eyes widen in shock. '...Holy shit, he's really gonna do it!'

With a deep breath, he made to plunge the spear in his chest-

*Flash!* *Whap!* "Wait, don't do it!"

...only for a hand to place itself on his chest after a show of light.

Quickly, Naruto and the young woman turned to see who it belonged to...only to freeze when they saw who it was.

'Beautiful.' That was the only word Naruto saw fit to describe the lady standing before him.

She was tall, around the same height as he was; slender, too.

Long, blonde hair, with lighter blonde and pink highlights, which was kept tied into a twice-banded low ponytail; her bangs were flipped to her left with a curl.

Her snow-white skin was flawless, only heightened by her rosy red cheeks and lips the color of the obsidian night sky.

Bright eyes the colored of rubies lay surrounded by a glowing field of fiery gold, wrought with concern and worry for them both.

Decked out in a fitted red tuxedo jacket with dark-red lapels and a pair of red fitted pants, her ensemble wasn't complete without a long-sleeved, untucked dress-shirt with a small black bowtie. And her feet were covered in black and white saddle shoes.

"Please, don't kill yourself! I-I'm sure we can figure out...whatever's going on between you two..." She pleaded in a melodious voice.

Naruto blinked at her words. The wounded Exorcist felt her jaw drop, her good eye widening at the new figure.

"Wait, y-you're-!" The Exorcist made to say, only to be halted as the newcomer raised her hand.

"I know, I know..." the young woman reasoned before she continued, "But could you please put down the spear before someone gets hurt?"

Not really sure what was going on - yet sensing no ill intent coming from the other blond - Naruto lowered the weapon in his hand until the blade dug into the ground, getting a sigh of relief from the young woman before she turned to face the one-eyed Exorcist, her face scrunched in what Naruto thought was a rather cute pout - complete with a little nose. "And just what did you think you were doing, telling him to kill himself?! You know angelic weapons are lethal to demons! Why say that to someone if they wanted to help you?!"

The injured white-haired woman at the very least had the decency to look ashamed, now regretting those very words to someone who only wanted to help.

"I-I'm sorry, it's just..." Here, even now, the wounded Exorcist struggled to find the words. "It's been a rough week for me. Kinda makes it hard to trust anyone these days, ¿me entiendes?" She asked with a resigned tone, desperately hoping that he'd take the apology without any trouble.

Naruto narrowed his eyes, trying to get a read on the Exorcist sitting on the ground before him until - finally - he let out a deep sigh. "Yeah, that makes sense. Last week wasn't exactly normal, even for us. Consider yourself forgiven." He'd give her the benefit of the doubt. For now.

Plus, something told him that she couldn't go back to Heaven even if she wanted to. There was a story there, but the whiskered blond thought it was better that she'd be willing to tell it when ready...

"Great! Problem solved!" And then there was Ms. Cheerful to think about, who was all happy smiles as she went to help the other woman up on her feet before her eyes widened so suddenly. "O-oh! I guess I kinda forgot to introduce myself! I'm so sorry!"

'ACK! Too cute, dammit! Mustprotect-whoa, hold it Naruto! Full stop, I mean it! Focus!'

"Uh, not to be rude and all lady, but I was kind of in the middle of wanting to help..." The former shinobi started, getting looks from the two women. Curious, the blond woman looked back and forth between the two rather awkwardly.

"Oooookay...?" she nervously relented as she backed away from the two. Naruto nodded in thanks before moving closer to the injured woman, who looked like she would rather be anywhere else. Standing right in front of her, he slowly raised his hand to her face in an effort to appear non-threatening.

"May I?" He asked her rather gently.

The gray-skinned Exorcist froze for only a moment before finally relenting as the whiskered blond gently pressed his hand to where her left eye used to be. Closing his eyes, Naruto focused as soon golden wisps of energy trickled from his palm, this time golden cracks grew along his forearm. The still-suspicious woman then felt a...soothing sensation, almost akin to a warm fire coaxing the left side of her face. And that for some reason, that side didn't hurt anymore.

It wasn't until the former shinobi removed said hand that the Exorcist realized that she was nuzzling her face into his palm. With a flustered blush, she retreated until her back hit the wall.

"Wh-what did you do?!" she exclaimed suspiciously. Naruto merely grinned in amusement as he held out his fist, seemingly grasping something within.

"I just helped you get back what you lost." the young man answered as he opened his hand. She gasped in shock as she saw a wad of used bandages being picked up by a wind breeze.

Panicking the white-haired woman's hands shot up to her empty eye socket...only to freeze in shock when she realized that she could see both of her hands from the left side of her face.

"WHAT THE FU-?!" Still not believing what was happening, she dared to blink once. Twice. Thrice, now. Wanting to see of it was real she turned to grab the nearest broken piece of glass she could find and looked really hard at what she was seeing.

Her right eye had a light pink sclera and an ivory white iris, while her left eye...her left eye-!

The white-haired fallen Exorcist gasped in silent shock as she traced her fingers around the very eye she thought lost forever...

"...Holy...shit..." the restored woman whimpered out as tears threatened to spill from her eyes.

"...Um, are you okay?" Now Naruto was feeling a little nervous. He turned to look at his fellow blond - who's name he had yet to learn! - for help, only to find her gaping at the whole scene like a fish; her red eyes grown to the size of saucers as she pointed at him.

*GLOMP!* "OOF!"

The blond Sinner felt the air shoot out of his lungs as the newly-healed woman tackled him in a tight hug.

"THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!"

Naruto could barely manage a chuckle from his slowly-crushing ribs, though he was able to pat her on the back. He could outright feel his face turning blue from the severe lack of oxygen. Thankfully, the grateful woman finally let him go, a relieved smile on her face briefly seen before she managed to school her features.

"...How did you even DO that?" the blond demoness asked, awestruck at such a display. It's almost rare to find a demon that can heal or even reverse scars inflicted by angelic weapons - even less so that they'd do it free of charge or without making a deal.

"Eh, that's a really long story...though I can tell it to you guys if you got time?" The whiskered blond suggested to the pair. "Oh! Come to think of it, I never got your names, so..."

The young women blinked at him before the taller of the two palmed her face and groaned. "Crap! So sorry, again..." she apologized before composing herself.

*ahem!* "I'm Charlie! Charlie Morningstar. It's nice to meet you!" She finished with a cheerful smile.

"Um, I'm Vaggie..." The now-named Exorcist-in-hiding answered in kind, a small smile on her face if one was looking rather closely at the corners of her lips.

Not wanting to be left out, the week-old Sinner replied to them both with a grin on his face. "Name's Naruto Uzumaki, at your service!"

This was the start of an unbreakable bond...
