Where the Hell is Gohan: Chapter 3
Hours after the Half-Saiyan literally made a deal with the Devil, Gohan finally began to stir from his sleep. The first thing he realized as he sat up was that he was now in what looked like an elaborately furnished room.
"How did I wind up here?" Gohan asked himself before grasping the front of his chest in pain. His heart felt like it was on fire and he quickly pulled off his shirt to inspect the issue. Sure enough the symbol of a Golden apple with a snake coming out of one side was burned onto his chest like a tattoo.
"How did that get there?" He spoke again before hearing the sound of a throat clearing.
Looking up he could see the imp butler from earlier sitting in a chair in the corner. The small imp stood from his seat before addressing the boy "That my boy would be a symbol of your deal with the master. Now if you wouldn't mind changing into these clothes I have prepared for you and meet just outside the room?".
Looking over near the wardrobe he watched as the imp opened it and showed him the clothes he was expected to wear. He could see a purple tank-top with black vest, blank pants with a black and white belt with golden buckle, white finger-less gloves, and brown boots with black tips.
"I trust these clothes are to your liking Sir?" The imp asked earning an enthusiastic nod from the boy "Very good, then. As you may have heard from the master my name is Higgins and I am the lead butler here at Lucifer's Palace. The master has tasked me in getting you ready to meet Princess Charlotte who will be here in about an hour. If you would quickly change when can go meet the master in the Foyer before she arrives.".
"Oh she is on her way here now!?" Gohan asked nervous about what she would think about him.
Higgins nodded as her turned to exit the room "As I heard she is rather upset that the master made such a drastic decision for her life, and is bringing another young lady with her. I would not keep them waiting if I were you." He finished as he exited the room shutting the door behind him.
Ignoring the pain in his chest, Gohan quickly jumped up and grabbed the clothes from the wardrobe. Flinging off his old clothing that had been worn and tattered from both his tussle with Lucifer, and whatever power had placed the mark on his chest, he quickly dressed himself before looking at his reflection in the mirror across the room.
To be honest he really liked how the clothes look on himself knowing that his mother would never allow him to dress in this sort of fashion. She would have called him a no good hooligan on sight if she was there to see him now.
He was imagining how he would look if he was Super Saiyan, when a loud knock shook him from his thoughts.
Quickly opening the door he was met by a frightened looking Higgins "I don't mean to rush you Sir but it appears your betrothed has arrived way earlier than expected and is now causing a scene in the Foyer! You may want to get down there to assist Lord Lucifer now that you are now bound in service to him!".
Thinking quickly Gohan locked onto the direction of Lucifer's energy, and could feel two other reasonably strong energies with him. Without saying a word to the Imp, the boy dashed off in their direction, hoping her could get there before anything bad could happen.
As he bounded through the halls, he could see all the painting that he and Lucifer passed as they made their way to his office and could begin to hear very loud shouting from two females.
Finally seeing a large opening up ahead, Gohan prepared himself for what could be the most important meeting of his life.
-With Lucifer minutes ago-
The King of Hell was feeling quite proud of himself at the recent events. For one he had managed to obtain the services of the very being that was now being considered the strongest in the Universe after killing the Bio-Android known as Cell. Of course that means that the menace was skulking somewhere down in the Pride Ring but seeing as he has been quiet as of late, he felt that it was of little to no consequence. Secondly the fact that Gohan was under his contract, he knew that he had robbed Heaven of an extremely powerful new recruit. That will show those uptight assholes to look down at him with contempt. Lastly and to him the most important thing in his mind, he had gotten said boy to agree to marry his daughter out of his own free will.
He was planning on maybe tricking the boy into helping him, but the fact that all it took was the bluff that he would hurt his friends, and family was enough to get him to sign away his life. He didn't even think he could get back on Earth if he tried. It took an extremely large amount of power just to get himself up the for the short time that he did. That being said, the fact that the boy was genuinely a good person made him happy that he was going to be the one protecting his daughter.
Maybe he could find a way to get him back up to Earth to visit his family after he seals the deal and walks his little girl down the isle.
He had hoped she would have taken the news just a tad better than she did, as the last the he had heard before she hung up was her screaming "I can't believe you did this to me!".
He was interrupted from his thoughts as his Hellphone had suddenly alerted him to a text message being received.
Pulling the phone from his pocket he could only see that the message had come from his daughter and the only thing it said in all caps was "I'M COMING!".
"Well that can't be good…." Lucifer spoke out loud with wide eyes.
A few moments later the sound of a car horn alerted him of it's arrival before he saw a limo plow into the wall right in front of him. Quickly dodging out of the way Lucifer watched as his Daughter and another young lady hopped out of the front seat of the now totaled vehicle.
Starring up at the two angry faces he fearfully let out a greeting "Charlotte my darling little girl, I was hoping you would drop….".
He was quickly interrupted by his daughter stomping her foot on the ground "What were you thinking!?" Charlie screamed out her horns full on display.
The woman standing next to her was glaring at him as well, firmly gripping her spear prepared to attack at a moment's notice.
Picking himself off the ground he tried to deflect her question with one of his own "What am I thinking, what were you thinking crashing the limo through the front door. Were you trying to kill your old man!?".
Charlie crossed her arms at him clearly not amused at his attempt at throwing her off "You sold me off to some guy I've never even met!".
"Now now Char-Char, I know this looks bad but I can assure you I only did this for your own protection! Besides you are almost two-hundred years old. Don't you think it's time to tie the knot and settle down with a family!?" Lucifer said not noticing the raging anger appearing on the other woman's face.
"She's already spoken for pendejo!" The woman all but roared at him as Lucifer face turned confused.
"And you are?" He asked as Charlie place a hand on the woman's shoulder.
"Dad this is Vaggie, she's my partner!" Charlie said staring her father right in the eye.
Lucifer was quiet for a few moments before replying "You mean like business partner?".
Both women slapped their faces in annoyance as Charlie once again spoke "No dad, as in life partner! We've been together the last three years.".
The color drained from Lucifer's face as he realized the implications of what he had done "You...like girls!? I mean of course you do, you are just like your own man in that regard! Why didn't you tell me that you had found a romance partner?".
Growing more irritable by the second Charlie pulled out her phone and shoved it into Lucifer's face "I've been messaging you for the last couple of years about our relationship! I've even tried to arrange a dinner between the three of us but you always keep replying with that's great honey, or I'm too busy Char-Char.".
Lucifer knew that he had royally fucked up as not only did he force his daughter to marry someone, but now had forced someone his daughter loved to become a side-piece in a potentially loveless marriage.
"I don't know why you thought you could just set me up with a random suitor but you are just going to have to tell the guy to take a hike! I am perfectly happy with Vaggie and I will not toss her to the side like yesterday's garbage just for some random dude who I've never met!" Charlie said wrapping her arms around Vaggie who was now blushing and smiling softly.
Now beginning to sweat Lucifer stuttered as he revealed the issue that was now apparent "Sweetie….I can't break off the marriage just like that.".
Groaning loudly Vaggie now took her chance to speak "Why in Satan's name not!? You are the King of Hell right, anything you say goes?".
"Well it's just that I may of kinda...sorta….bound a human soul to fulfill the terms of a soul contract!" Lucifer said quickly before taking a few steps back.
Charlie's face turned blank as she had to question the wording that he just used "A human soul...you mean like a Sinner Demon?".
"Not exactly sweety." Lucifer said not liking the look on her face.
"Dad….What did you do!?" She said crossing the distance between them and grabbing hold of his overcoat and lifting him off the ground.
"Now Charlie you have to understand! The world out there is dangerous and I can't protect you every step of the way. That's why I had to get help from someplace other than Hell!" Lucifer said trying to calm her down.
Before anyone else could say anything a loud boom sounded behind them as a boy surrounded by raw energy landed on the ground in front of them.
"I think you should put him down!" The boy spoke moving into a battle stance just in case things got ugly.
Not wanting things to escalate even further than they already have Lucifer quickly raised his hand up to stop the boy "Wait Gohan stop...fighting won't be necessary at this moment!".
Releasing her grip on her father Charlie stared at the boy before looking her father dead in the eye "Who is this kid dad, and why doesn't he look like he's a demon?".
Lucifer took a moment to fix his hat before preparing to announce the two "Well Charlie this is Gohan, he's a half-breed from Earth, and Gohan this is my daughter Charlie MorningStar." He smiled widely as the two locked eyes for a moment.
Gohan was the first to speak as he gave a small bow to show respect towards his future betrothed "Nice to meet you Princess Charlie, your father brought me here to help you with your redemption project.".
Charlie and Vaggie were both surprised at the level of respect he was showing them as the both of them hadn't been around many children in Hell. The few times that the couple had been around other Hellborn children hadn't really been what they would call pleasant times.
"Um...It's very nice to meet you Gohan...right Vaggie?" Charlie said giving the boy a smile and looking back to her girlfriend who was still looking at the boy in confusion.
"Sure…..Kid I have a question. What in the Hell was that energy around you just now and what is someone as respectful as you doing here in the first place!?" Vaggie asked not taking her hand off of her spear.
Being an Angel herself she could feel the negative energy of demons and the pureness of angels. Strangely this boy was giving off some pretty strong pure vibes, but strangely had what felt like a dark undertone about himself. It was as if underneath all the pureness was a raging demon ready to be set loose. It honestly made her uneasy about him.
Gohan himself was feeling the same way about both of the women. With Lucifer it was easy to tell that his energy was quite demonic in nature. It reminded him much of Piccolo's energy but with a more darker undertone. When it came to Charlie's energy he felt somewhat of a demonic power as he base, but he was sure he could feel a mix of brightness that was popping through every now and again.
The woman he assumed was Vaggie had the opposite feel about her. To him she felt more of a pure energy with a layer of darkness washing over her. He also took notice of how she was holding her spear and was determined not to give her any reason to use it on him. Something didn't seem right about it anyway. He had a feeling that it was no ordinary weapon.
Gohan was about to answer his question when he was interrupted by Lucifer "Look it's a long story, and I'm sure we can all talk about it after dinner. I'll explain everything to you then Charlie, I promise.".
Charlie wanted to tell him no so badly, but he shot her puppy dog eyes and a quivering lip and she relented with a sigh "Alright, but after dinner you better come clean about everything! Either that or I will let Vaggie loose to show you what she can do with that spear.".
Looking over at the grey skinned girl, Lucifer could see her shoot an evil grin at him while brandishing her spear for effect.
"Well then it's settled we can enjoy a nice dinner and then get to know each other better." Lucifer laughed while snapping his fingers "Oh Higgins!?".
At the call of his master the Imp Butler quickly called from on top of the stairs "You rang master?".
"You bet I did buddy! Show these three to the dining room so we can enjoy the nice feast the kitchen prepared." Lucifer called as butler bowed and motioned for the three to follow him.
Soon enough he led them to a massively long rectangular table filled to the brim with food. Almost every inch of the table held various meats, and vegetables that could satisfy any appetite.
The three of them took their seats with Gohan on one side of the table, while Charlie and Vaggie sat together on the other side. Soon Lucifer took his seat at the head of the table, as was customary for his status.
"Well everyone dig in before it gets cold, the chefs spent hours preparing this spread!" Lucifer called as he started filling up his plate.
Vaggie started eyeing the obsessive amount of food before making a comment "Lord Lucifer, no offense but there is no reality where the four of us could eat this much food.".
Charlie nodded in agreement even after making herself a plate. Lucifer grinned before turning his head towards Gohan "Well Gohan I bet you are starving after the day you've had. How about you show these two how much your kind enjoys eating?".
At the mention of "his kind" Charlie had to look at her father confusedly.
Gohan however could feel his stomach began to rumble loudly startling both women. Sheepishly he looked at his host before asking "Are you sure about that Lord Lucifer? I don't want to be rude in front of everyone.".
Shoveling a forkful of beef into his mouth and swallowing Lucifer replied "By all means kid! Consider this my apology for dropping in so rudely on you this morning. Besides you would break the chefs hearts if you didn't enjoy their wonderful food.".
Not wanting to seem like he was ungrateful, Gohan decided to indulge himself and began filling up a plate before devouring it and starting the process over again.
After just a few minutes Gohan had quickly built up a stack of around 20 plates but was still going strong to Charlie's amazement, and Vaggie's disgust.
After about 30 minutes all the food on the table had been devoured with a team of the maids struggling to carry the large stack of plates away to the kitchen.
Gohan sat back in his chair with a satisfied burp before patting his stomach "Excuse me.".
Even Lucifer was surprised that he quite literally finished the entire feast save for what little the other ate. Even he was lucky to grab a plate of his favorite roast before the Half-Saiyan devoured it.
Snapping out of their little stupor, Charlie used a fork to clink her glass to gain their attention "Alright dad, now that dinner is over it's time you explain who you married me off to, and why this boy is here." She said with a no nonsense look on her face.
Lucifer sweat dropped as he forgot that he had promised an explanation and he finally decided he had to come clean while he still had a chance of keeping her trust.
"Alright honey, I'll tell you what you wanna know." Lucifer said leaning back in his chair "First of this boy here is known as Son Gohan. He is thirteen years old and as you may have already guessed he isn't a Sinner Demon, nor is he dead.".
Charlie look at him with a disapproving look "If that's the case then why did you bring him here dad!? He doesn't belong in Hell, and what does he have to do with our situation?". Vaggie agreed with her clenching her fists knowing that something was off about him.
"That's just it Charlie. He doesn't belong in Hell and that's exactly why I used my power to bring him here from Earth. Gohan here hold a vast amount of power inside of himself. So much in fact that he can easily destroy entire planets if he felt like it." Lucifer stated in a matter of fact tone.
This caused both girls to look at the boy in shock as he sat in his chair uncomfortably. He hated the possibility that he would ever use his power to destroy planets and end lives. He would much rather use it to protect others, like his father before him.
"You can't possibly expect me to believe that he is more powerful than most Overlords dad. How did you even manage to pull a soul from Earth I thought you couldn't go up above?" Charlie asked still skeptical about his reasoning.
"Charlie believe me when I say that if this boy really got angry, he could beat down most of Hell if it came down to it." Lucifer spoke softly to her. The look on his face showed that he was being serious which cause Charlie to look down at her hands in shock.
Sighing Lucifer decided it was better to rip the bandage off rather to postpone it "That's why I made the decision that if you want to go through with your dreams of redeeming demons, the you do it under the condition that you have someone as powerful as him as your future husband!".
The look on both women's face could kill as the both shrieked at him "You can't be serious!".
"Dad you can't just force a child, much less a human child into a marriage that neither of us want any part of!" Charlie said as she partially shifted into her full demon form with Vaggie looking like she was going to ring his neck.
It was at this time that Gohan decided to speak up to spare Lucifer and unfair beat down "He didn't force me into it!".
"What?" Charlie asked as she looked at him in disbelief.
"He didn't force me to marry you, I agreed to the contract of my own volition!" Gohan said with even Lucifer looking at him in surprise.
It was Vaggie's turn to speak up as she stood up and looked at him strangely "Why would ever agree something like that kid!? Life on Earth has to be a whole Hell of a lot better than an eternity down here. Why would you ever give up something like that especially if you already had a surefire way of getting into Heaven!?".
"It's because Lucifer told me about Charlie's dream!" Gohan said standing up himself and staring the woman down "He used his power to show up on Earth begging for someone to help keep her safe from other demons and then he told me how Charlie wants to help other demons redeem themselves. Even if she won't accept me as her husband I still want to do everything I can to assist her!".
Lucifer could not believe that the boy he had essentially kidnapped was trying to lie for him. It would have been so much easier for him to tell them to truth and just leave him to his fate. He was sure that Vaggie was carrying an Angelic Spear and would be able to significant damage to him. Still though the boy decided to stick by his side and bend the truth to protect him. He was beginning to feel disgusted with himself for how he handled things. He would not have used force if he knew the boy would have been this selfless.
Charlie however was even more surprised about Gohan's reasoning. Everyone that she told her ideas to except for Vaggie, had laughed her off and called her a fool. She was even beginning to lose hope for herself as she hadn't even managed to get any tenant's to come to the hotel she had obtained from a previous extermination victim. Now this boy who she just met decided to forsake his life on Earth and assist her even at the risk of his safety and afterlife.
She could feel the wetness gather at the corner's of her eyes as she struggled to keep herself composed.
"Charlie what's wrong sweety!?" Vaggie asked wiping the corner of Charlie's eyes with her thumbs.
Charlie began to sniffle as she looked to her lover "He is the first person besides you to tell me, that they believe in my dream, and he isn't trying to force me to change!".
Giving her girlfriend a kiss on the forehead, Charlie moved to stand in front of Gohan before leaning to meet his gaze "Are you sure this is what you want to do Gohan? I can't promise that everything will be fine for you here in Hell. Maybe I can get dad to break the contract and send you back?".
Gohan shook his head and gave her a confident smile "I'm sure about this Charlie. I have faith that you can achieve your dreams and I promise I won't come between you and Vaggie.".
Vaggie smiled at his last comment. She fully expected him to take full advantage of the marriage part of the contract like other Sinner Demons would have. Earlier when Charlie had said that she had been forced into a marriage contract she feared for the worst. After being expelled from Heaven she was scared that she would be all by herself again and she couldn't stand the thought of it.
Hearing Gohan admit that he would not try to come between them for some reason put her heart at ease. Something about the sureness in his voice made he feel as if she could trust her word. Even so she was still worried about him being a still living soul in Hell. Even being under contract from Lucifer other Sinners could try and kill him. Also since they would have no way of knowing, the other exterminator angels might still try to target him on Extermination day.
Finally letting the tears flow down her face Charlie smiled and pulled Gohan into a tight hug burying her face into his hair.
"Wow you are surprisingly strong Charlie!" Gohan spoke as he felt the girl squeeze him tightly.
Charlie continued crying as she sobbed out words "I'm just so happy to have another friend, who believes in me!".
Lucifer stared at the trio cautiously as he tried to speak to his daughter "Does this mean you forgive me Char-Char?".
Letting Gohan go she looked over to his father who had a hopeful look at his face.
"Fine, but only because you actually found me a great person to help." Charlie said before giving her dad a hug.
Lucifer let out a sigh of relief as he returned the hug but was met with a glare from Vaggie "But if you ever make such a boneheaded decision ever again I will jam this spear so far up your ass that your will be classified as a corn-dog!".
Giving her a disgusted look the King of Hell began sweating furiously "I'll keep that in mind for the future!".
Satisfied with the turn of events Charlie clapped her hands together as she looked at everyone "All right so it's settled. We will stay the night in the castle then, Vaggie, Gohan, and I will ride around and try to find our first soul to redeem! Also dad since you are the reason that we crashed the car, you will be providing us a brand new limo!".
Vaggie chimed in to try to sweeten the deal "This time with seat warmers, and cup holders!".
Groaning loudly Lucifer relented "Fine, just no crashing this next car you have no idea how hard it is to get limos in Hell".
"Yay, thanks Dad! Get some rest Gohan we will be getting started first thing in the morning!" Charlie said excitedly as she grabbed Vaggie's hand and began to lead her to her old room.
"Goodnight ladies!" Gohan called after them leaving him alone with Lucifer in the dining room.
Looking down at the boy Lucifer could not stop himself from asking "Gohan….Why did you tell Charlie that it was your idea to help? I threatened your friends life, why did you decide to stick by my side earlier?".
Looking at him with a kind smile, Gohan placed his hand behind his head in typical Son fashion "I didn't want your daughter to hate you. I don't think you are that bad of a guy, maybe just a little bit misguided. If my dad was still alive he would have made the same decision I did.".
Smirking at the boy's answer Lucifer chuckled out "You are a much kinder soul then I, Son Gohan. Maybe sometime we can sit down together as family as trade stories about our lives.".
"I don't think Charlie is going to be interested in me like that, Lord Lucifer. I also don't wanna get in the way of their relationship." Gohan said skeptical that Charlie would ever see him as anything other than a friend "Well I think I should be getting to bed. Don't wanna be tired on my first day helping Charlie.".
As the Half-Saiyan walked away, Lucifer couldn't help but murmur to himself "Kid I don't think you are gonna have a trouble in the relationship department. I have a feeling you will be beating them back with a stick in the future.".
With that Lucifer made his way back to his office as the Castle once again was filled with the sound of silence.
