Chapter 1

Week 1, Day 3

Waking up with choices

( First person, Johnathan's POV)

Pain, all i felt waking up was pain. Head felt like someone used me as human battering ram on a steel door. Chest felt like a elephant ate a whole factory load of peanuts and sat down on me. The many joys of being a teenager exploring the unknown. I occasionally hear the soft beeps of a heart-rate monitor. I must be in a hospital, obviously. Strangely I also heard some light snoring. I slowly forced my cold blue eyes to open. First thing that got me was the blinding white light, burning the back of my eyes. I raised my arm to try and shield myself from being blinded. When my vision refocused noticed several IV's in my arm, my human arm. The ceiling was as white as eggshells, walls matched. I was laying down in a hospital bed. Looking left, Lime green cloth sheet separating my view of the rest of the place. There was a nightstand with a vase of flowers, dandelions and pink tulips to be exact. Wonder who brought them? Looking right, I see the IV tubes leading up to a blood bag that read 'AB+' and some bag of clear liquid. Hospital monitor was keeping a steady beep. Small window looking out to a few stars scattered along the black canvas of the night sky, no moon in sight. Hearing the soft snoring again, I looked around the room some more. Finding the source of the snoring surprised me a little. A girl is asleep in a chair beside the flowers. My Mjolnir mark VI CQB helmet in her lap, diagonal slice going across the visor, where my left eye and cheek should have been. The girl in the chair looked like she wouldn't harm a fly, Coffee brown hair, regular school girl outfit, cute brown rabbit ears laid flat against her hair. Bandage and brace on her leg, crutches next to her.

Wait, rabbit ears? I can't be in the Japanese anime sector, her chest is normal sized and not the size of watermelons. I used my robot arm to lightly rub the crusting out of my eyes. Sure enough to my surprise once again. There were two long, brown, bunny ears laying flat on top of her head. Obviously I'm in some sort of anime world, only way i can explain a human looking being with animal features short of a hybrid. When she snored softly, her nose even twitched like a rabbit's every so often. It's adorable, reminds me of my daughter Elaia, only this woman isn't a Khajiit and is easily three times her age. I do hope Elaia is behaving for Serena, don't want to have to play the 'strict father figure' role unless I have to.

"Where did Serena land me at this time?"I asked myself unhooking the IV tubes and what ever wires they attached to me. The monitor immediately started to flat-line. I turned it off and tried to get up. Only to fall face first into the floor with a loud thud. My legs still were asleep and refused to wake up, the lazy bastards. Still numb and can't even wiggle my toes at the moment. It will pass, they've been though worse.

"hmm, huh?" The rabbit girl said looking around the room as she woke up. Ears perking straight up. My helmet rolled out of her lap and in front of me. I looked down at myself real quick. I noticed that I wasn't in my Mjolnir armor, or anything decent. I was in a hospital gown and my grey underwear. my black under suit was folded up on the seat by the rabbit girl. She hobbled over and helped me up. To say I was embarrassed would have been a big understatement. Why am i practically naked right now? Where the fuck is my armor! "Don't stress yourself too much. You just woke up." She said with concern in her voice. I held my head.

"Where am I? How long was I out?" I asked riding the migraine out. I got a closer look at her as she wrapped an arm to help me up. Hey, she is the rabbit girl from earlier, the one I tried to protect. What is she doing in here with me? Why is her leg in a cast?

"Don't w-worry, you're in the m-medical ward. You've been out for about a t-two days." She said softly helping me back on the bed. "W-why are you here?" She asked stuttering a bit.

"Pretty sure that last wall I slammed into was what put me here." I joked a bit, despite it hurting like a bitch to laugh. She even giggled slightly at my joke. I held my head again. "I could ask you the same thing Miss..." I trailed. I am horrible at remembering names after getting my ass kicked. In my defense, those things hit like freight trains, and I was outnumbered fourteen to one. Even if I took almost all of them out with me.

"Velvet, Velvet Scarlatina. I'm here to be sure you were okay and that you'd wake up, You still owe me answers." She added picking up my helmet and handing it to me. "The doctors had to remove your strange armor and under-suit to fix the problem, had a tough time doing so by the sounds of it. You had some bruising, internal and external bleeding. Everything about your body puzzled the doctors. Muscles too dense, bones too hard, nervous system too fast. Just from what I overheard." She listed. Well that was a lot of good news. Lot less injured then I thought, figured I had to have at least one fractured back bone from smacking into the wall twice. I sighed in relief as I held my helmet. Looking at the slash I traced. Felt the same mark on my face. Another new scar to add to my already marred collection.

"That's it? Figured I'd have a lot more." I quietly noted inspecting my helmet. "Visor damage mostlyl. I'll have to replace the visor, repair the armor plating along the forehead and cheek. Over all, could have been a lot worse. I can easily repair it given the right tools and material." Velvet looked at me kind of confused. I guess I can't really blame her. A being from another universe jumps into her life unexpectedly, stopped rogue sentient machines from killing her, then sees him wakes up in a hospital with little answers given and a lot of questions. Don't blame her in the slightest. "Very long story. I'll explain another time." I quickly responded placing my helmet beside the flowers. "Who brought the flowers?" I asked.

"Coco, my friend, brought them as an appreciation gift for saving me." She replied timidly. "Guess I owe you one." I waved it off as she helped me lay back down

"Don't mention it. I couldn't let a innocent get hurt on my watch. Wouldn't sit right with my conscious." I looked over to see her staring at the floor. Girl must be shy, just at first glance. Then again, I held off several violent machine at the same time to protect her. I am terrible at talking to new people, or hybrids, or what ever she is. Thinking she is a usagimimi if my knowledge on anime universes is correct. They generally leave me alone for the most part. Aside from the usually documentation of the universe, I leave them alone. Not sure if they're technically hybrids or a species of their own? Depends on the universe. Wonder what Velvet would classify as? Luckily I was saved by some guy in green opening the curtains. He carried a admittedly cool cane. Aged gray hair, neat specs. Seemed to be the one in charge because of way Velvet tensed up, not out of fear but respect, when he walked in the room with a coffee mug in one hand and his cane in the other.

"Miss. Scarlatina, I believe it's way past visiting hours and curfew. Your team would be worried about your health if you spend another night here." He informed.

"Sorry sir, Just wanted to be sure he was okay." She said running as fast as you would expect someone on crutches can out of the room.

"I would suggest you hurry, don't want to keep Miss Adel waiting. Don't want her to volunteer you for her next shopping spree." He warned as she disappeared from sight, hobbling slightly faster like the devil himself said he was going to take her soul. "She's a good kid. Little timid around others but a excellent student never the less." He acknowledged before turning to me. "I'm Professor Ozpin. Headmaster of this school. May I ask who you are? Your helmet and armor tell me your known as 'Agent Ohio'." He introduced sitting down at the chair Velvet was asleep in.

"My real name is Johnathan Grey. Agent Ohio is a code name i went by. Guess you can say I'm a explorer and mercenary of sorts." I replied sitting up.

"You know you caused quite a commotion with your arrival. Everyone's wanting a explanation on what happened and what those things that attacked you..."

"Prometheans" I cut off. "They were Promethean knights, nasty buggers. Tough exo-armor, hard light shielding to some, hyper advanced weaponry. Favors teleporting away to safety or to sneak attack. Alone, not too big of a problem if you know what your doing. But in groups, Definitely an issue and can cause serious trouble." He nodded his head as he took a sip of his coffee.

"Intresting. So should we be expecting more of these 'Prometheans'? I ask because I'd like us to be prepared just in case more show up." He asked. I shook my head.

"Understandable reason but I wouldn't expect more any time soon. The link is severed, No way for them to get here till the connection is repaired, Which naturally would take a while, or they find another route, which is unlikely." I replied being careful how I word it, The multiverse is a complex system to understand.

"And you're also stuck without any way back, no place to go, and no idea what to do, but no more of those things can get through?" He asked. I hesitantly nodded.

"I trust my twin sister will come get me, just going to take a while." I responded with a tinge of sadness in my voice. I have no doubt that she'd find me. Just don't know what to do in the meantime. I have no idea if this is a Core-verse, or canon-verse to simplify it, or a sub-verse. Core-worlds I HAVE to be careful. one wrong step and i can shatter an entire system in no time.

"Why don't you stay here then." He offered much to my surprise. I raised a eyebrow at this. "It's pretty obvious you're skilled in combat, being outnumbered thirteen to one" Fourteen to one "and only being slightly injured. Of course I'd have to forge some papers to say you're a late transfer student, pull a few strings to make it believable. I'm sure my friend James Ironwood would love to sponsor for you." I narrowed my eyes.

"Alright, What's the catch? This sounds too good to be just from anyone's good will and spirit." I asked. He smiled taking another sip of coffee.

"Cleaver child. Right to the point, no beating around the bush." He set his cup down on the nightstand. "I want you to help us." He spoke in a stern tone. I raised a eyebrow again.

"If what you're saying is true, which I'll be open minded about, then these 'Prometheans' could be back eventually or worse. I want you to fight for us should the needs arise." He explained. I motioned for him to go on. "You know what to expect more than we do, and how to defeat what could come. I have no doubts that my students can defend themselves, but it's always nice to have a backup plan. In return, I'll provide you with a place to stay and something to do while you wait for your rescue. We can negotiate on it later." He stood up taking his coffee with him. "I'll give you till tomorrow to decide. Your armor and weapons will be in Team CFVY's dorm under Coco's personal protection. They'll be safe, for now." He said walking toward the door. He stopped right in the doorway. "You know, I believe Velvet was mainly watching over you because she felt guilty for landing you in the infirmary. Of course not by her choice, but by not being able to help better. Why she kept the helmet with her is not my place to guess or ask, but her tale to tell. I'll let that sink in while you decide."

He left the room turning the light off. Leaving me alone in the dark with only my thoughts. If one asks me, I'm calling bullshit right now. The offer just seems too good from someone I just meet and know nothing about. There's always something hidden between the lines, i can practically feel it in my bones. What choice do I have, I can't exactly go running around without some prior knowledge of this place. Plus I can use the time here to repair my gear. I thought letting my head follow on the pillow. "I'll think better once I've had a good night's rest." I said out loud to myself. I turned my head to my helmet. Seeing my own marred reflection in the broken visor. I can recall every single scar directly from memory. Large red one across my face I earned while here, failed to see that Knight coming before it was too late. Another large cut down my bottom lip to my chin was from a Brute's spiker gun. Got too close when he swung, bastard sliced my lip in two and some of my chin. It took over fourteen stitches to close it up, that was a painful one. Barely noticeable V shaped one by my right eye was from a bird/human hybrid monster. He got the jump on me and tore me up good. Bit down where my eye was and nearly took it out. If it hadn't been for a friend from he Destiny universe, I would need a cybernetic eye or an eye patch. That is just a few of the many scars I've gained though out my short life so far. Every scar I earned by either doing something stupid or trying to save a friend. I sighed and closed my eyes to let my mind drift off to sleep.

Waking up now was a little smoother than the first try. Ray of sunlight was shining directly in my face. Well that is what I was hoping when I woke up. Instead I woke up to a red head staring at me. Bright blue energetic eyes peering straight to mine. "Morning!" She greeted very energetically. I gave a surprised scream and rolled off the bed. Face first into the ground ...Again ...for the second time in less than 12 hours. I really need to learn how to sleep with my eyes open. This is getting old fast. Good news is my body no longer hurts as bad. My head, how ever, never felt worse. "Sorry, The Headmaster sent me to be sure you make it to breakfast alright. Seen the fight you were in other day from my history class, then again who hasn't seen it, and it must have been brutal. Wonder how you're not hurt worse? Any way..." And I started automatically tuning her out after that, I can tell she either is the type of person who won't shut up or had too much coffee to drink, or that coffee is the last thing she needs. I pushed myself off the ground, still hurt but not as bad. Legs are finally working. Thank the creator.

"It's okay. I didn't feel like sleeping in any." I replied dusting myself off. I honestly feel a lot better then yesterday. "Can't afford to get too soft." I whispered to myself

"Great. I'm Nora." She greeted extending her arm

"Johnathan." I greeted back shaking her hand. She clamped down on my hand and gave it a firm handshake. Woman has some grip, I'll give her that. Wonder how much she can bench?

"Nice to meet you Johnny, though if you don't mind me asking. What's with the..." She started pointing to her left arm. I looked at mine to see that she was talking about my robotic limb. I was about to give an answer when she interrupted. "One second thought, Let me guess. You lost it in a epic fight to the death with an Ursa with just your bare hands? No wait, You had it cut off saving your true love from a band of cutthroat pirates? No wait, you lost it in a duel of honor with your rival?" She asked, still adding lots more to her list of guesses. If only it were that heroic or noble, or anywhere close really. She has a wild imagination, I'll give her points that.

"Sure, lets go with one of those and call it a day." I agreed grabbing my helmet and tucked it under my arm. I grabbed my under suit, "Where's the bathroom." Nora pointed to the door in front of my bed, I face-palmed at my own stupidity.

"I'll be back, need to change real quick." I informed as I started walking toward the bathroom. Legs felt better then yesterday but still hurt to walk. I'll live, had to power though a lot worse for a whole lot less.

"Okay, But don't be too long, or we'll miss breakfast and..." She warned. I was already in the bathroom and closed the door by the time she got to the word 'breakfast'. I Unfolded the suit. All the holes from the fight the other day were stitched up, even the gel layer was repaired. Not an easy feat to achieve. Looked washed and even felt cleaner. Smells like lavender. It was washed recently. I'll have to thank Velvet when I get the chance. Not the easiest thing to clean. Hope it didn't explode their dryer. titanium nano-weave does not like too many things. I took off the hospital gown and put it aside. Nano-weave seems to be fine, gel layer still feels normal and flexible. I unzipped the back zipper from above the neckline to just below where my ass would go. All covered by the armor in normal circumstances. I carefully slipped my legs inside and pulled it up. Still feels fine. I'm honestly impressed by their work. I was about to put my arm though when i looked in the mirror. A massive battlefield of scars and burns littered my body. Few were notable to those who wish to know. Three claw slashes down from my right shoulder to just below my chest, was on the wrong end of a Hellhound when i earned that one. Twisted and burned indent just above where my heart should be. When I got quite literally stabbed in the back by my ex with a lightsaber. Still wondering how I'm still alive after that day, one of the few people I hope that is gone for good. Large bite would across my left shoulder from a Dragon. Damn bastards don't know how to let go when I'm hitting them in the eye with a rock. Every one earned and permanent marks on my past. I let out a sign as I slid my arms in their sleeves and zipped the suit back up. Automatically conformed to fit my body, zipper was hidden back under a flap on my neck. Whole thing looked scaled, yet looks like it formed a second layer of muscles over my body. Neck line extended up to right above my chin, feet covered as well as my hands. Feels good to be back in something familiar. Feel naked without it on most of the time. I folded up the gown and set it on the back of the toilet. Anyone with a brain will find it. I took a deep breath before going back out to face the woman of a million words.

"How do I look? Better, worse?" I asked. I heard a buzz and she pulled something out of her pocket. Looked like some sort of collapsible tablet.

"One second, got a message from Ren." She looked down at her tablet thing and went wide eyed. "WE'RE LATE FOR PANCAKES!" she screamed. Before I can even breath she grabbed my robotic arm and jerked me around the halls. I barely was able to keep a hold of my helmet. At the speeds she was running, and dragging me along, I'm surprised we didn't break the sound barrier, or that my arm was still attached. Whole trip was a blur of color, people screaming, jumping out of the way. We finally stopped at a all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet table. Every type of breakfast food I can think of is here, even steak. What kind of budget does this school have for it to afford a buffet table this large? The room itself was quite large. Marble pillars helped support the massive roof. Whole place seem packed with students. Nice dark tables and chairs. This place must have a huge-ass starting budget or someone robbed a bank or two. "Well here's the cafeteria, hope you enjoy, I gotta go. Bye." She rambled before taking off again. I swear that woman had way too much coffee today. I just got a plate of ham and eggs before I looked around for a place to sit. Hey, guy needs to have his meat, one thick juicy cut at a time. Only place that looked free was beside Velvet. There were three other people by her. A big one a bit taller then me, a girl with sunglasses, and someone with glassy eyes. Most notable things I can see on them.

Well, if I'm going to be trapped here, might as well try to make allies. I'll need someone to watch my back. Worse case scenario, the big guy throws me back to the medical ward or beats me to a pulp. I thought as I headed their way. As I got closer I started hearing bits of their conversation. Sunglasses was across from glassy eyes. The table was leaning more toward the boys side.

"The armor puzzles me the most. It's heavy and obviously made of a strong metal, yet he was able to fight so fluidly in it. Like it weighted nothing at all to him." The one with sunglasses said. Sunglasses seemed to only have a cup of coffee and toast. Glassy eyes had a plate of eggs and pancakes. Big guy just had cup of tea, obviously not a breakfast person. Velvet, kind of humorously, had carrots and pancakes. All of them either almost gone or just scraps of it left. Wonder what time it is?

"Hey, you mind if I sit here?" I asked. Almost immediately It went quiet. It's going to be like high school all over again. Here I thought I finally saw the end of it after graduating four years early from that hell. Karma, why art thou a heartless bitch? What did I ever do to you!

"Not at all. Please sit down. We were just talking about you." Glassy eyes offered. I accepted the offer and sat by Velvet, who was blushing brightly as the table now evened out but now shifted to the girl's side more. Several people now were glaring our way, But were quickly shot down by a even more intimidating glare from Sunglasses before she turned her attention to me. Obviously she is someone I don't want as an enemy.

"So, your the guy who protected Velvet the other day from those things?" Sunglasses asked. Oh crap I forgot the headmasters warning. I really should pay more attention. She gave me a thumbs up. "Nice job. Not many strangers would have done that for her." I waved it off

"I was just doing what I thought was right." I replied slowly taking a bit of my eggs. "May I ask for a name?" I asked. Glassy eyes chuckled a bit.

"I'm Fox, Big guy is Yatsuhashi, You already meet Velvet, And the one checking you out behind her shades is our team leader Coc...o." Fox introduced, earning himself a swift kick in the shin by Coco from under the table.

"Yours hon?" She asked sipping her coffee.

"Johnathan Grey. Though do you know where I can find some people called 'Team Coffee'? Ozpin said they have my armor and weaponry in their dorm. Any idea where I'd find them?" I asked. Coco kicked her boots up on the table and smirked, like she heard the funniest joke ever.

Coco was the one who was meant to protect my stuff while I was in the ward, Right? I'm not one to judge people early, but if she redesigned any piece of equipment or painted over it, I'll be a little pissed off. That suit itself wasn't easy to get. Had to pry it off a dead Spartan IV's body, reshape it to fit me, Modify it to come on/off easier with some extra features, Fix/reshape the helmet completely, and had my body augmented to accept the damn armor. Lucky me it was the Mark VI CQB variety. What, he was dead, with a huge hole in his helmet. Way I see it, he won't be using it anytime soon, I would. He was dead when I found him, I didn't kill him. One of the Promethean lancers did him in, obviously. Think he was a petty officer from one of the IV fire teams on Requiem. Why he had an upgraded mark VI armor instead of the normal Spartan IV armor I will never know. Left his rifle and pistol with him, out of respect. Dad and I didn't have time to give him a proper funeral, so we left him with a quick prayer in a makeshift grave after a three volley salute out of respect. It was a massive pain in the ass getting home and modifying. Lot more advanced then one would think.

"Your talking to them." She took another sip of her coffee. I blinked a bit. Note to self, think before you talk.

"Wow I feel like a idiot." I muttered to myself eating a bit of the ham.

"So what were those things that attacked you and Velvet? Where did they come from?" Coco asked. Before I can answer. The oh so familiar sound of a PA system blared through the room.

"Can Johnathan Grey come to the headmaster's office. Johnathan Grey to the headmaster's office." Some generic computer female voice announced. Saved by the bell, or PA system, it is.

"Well it would help if I knew where that was computer lady." I muttered to myself. I quickly stuffed what was left of my ham down my throat and grabbed my helmet. Eggs I can care less for, Juicy cuts of meat I won't let go to waste, under any circumstance.

"Well, it's Saturday, I got plans. Velvet, would you mind showing your savior to the office?" Coco asked drinking what was left of her coffee and slung a studded handbag over her shoulder as she got up.

"N-no problem." She stuttered. I was a bit confused. Why did she stutter? Well Ozpin did say she was a bit shy so I won't judge. She must have a good reason. Speaking of Ozipn, I haven't figured out a answer to his proposition. It would be in my best interest to accept it. But I've been on the shit end of bad-deals-that-sounded-good-at-the-time before. Well whatever I choose, I better do so quickly.

Walk there was pretty boring. Though the infrastructure of this place is pretty well made. Who ever designed this must have been a genius. Well from my basic knowledge of architecture, which is very little. Still looks good though.

Velvet was pretty quiet for most of the trip so far. I let her hold my helmet, well try to hold it. For some reason she seems to be attached to it. Though I am quite fond of it myself, saved my bacon more than once in the field. That and I've always liked the CQB variety of the Mjolnir armor. Few people were in the halls. Most ignored us, move out of the way quickly at the mere sight of me, or looked disgusted at one of us. My scars aren't that horrific, Were they? They couldn't be looking at Velvet like that. One would have to be either really stupid or have extremely high standards of beauty to be looking at her like she's a pest, I think she looks quite cute. Where did that come from? I shook my head. I can't form too many emotional attachments. The less people I know the better. But team CFVY seems like they can be formidable allies. Though I've been wrong before, still too early to tell. I'd need to see their combat prowess to be certain.

"I-I've been wondering." Velvet finally spoke. "W-What happened with your arm? You d-don't have to a-answer if you don't w-want to." She asked as we rounded a corner.

"Long story short, I got too cocky and paid a heavy price because of it. Let's leave it at that." I replied in a 'Best to drop it now' tone. I hate the way I got that arm. If I was more cautious l back then, if I was smarter, I could have avoided the whole thing. But NO! My dumb ass just HAD to get even, I just HAD to run into an obviously suicidal situation head first. It's nothing short of a miracle how I'm still alive.

"A-Alright." She said. Another by-passer giving us a dirty look. Okay, I need answers. Either she did something to give them a reason for the dirty looks, or I'm in a building filled of assholes.

"My turn for questions, What's everyone giving us dirty looks? Me, I understand. I ain't winning no beauty contests. But I can't figure out why they would be giving you anything of the sort?" I asked. Almost immediately her ears flattened against her head. I knew I must of struck a bad nerve or something. She looked around to see if anyone was close by, and then looked me right in the eyes, with hers full of confusion, in desperate need of answers.

"You really aren't from around here, are you?" She asked.

"Last I checked, I am not from around here." I joked a bit. "Why, is there something important I need to know?" I asked. She gave a long sigh before answering my question.

"It's because of my ears. People have been picking on me and looking at me like I'm a pest because of them, for as long as I can remember." She answered with her voice lined in sadness.

"I don't see why anyone would pick on you because of them? I think there adorable."

"Really? You think they're cute?" Her face light up brighter than a blazing inferno.

"Oh yeah, been forever since I've seen a human/anything hybrid, no offense, that didn't want to kill me on sight, or cook me, or do anything hostile toward me. You're honestly the first who hasn't tried any of that. Come to think of it, last hybrid I meet tried to serve me up on a silver platter with mushrooms, vegetables, and lemon juice. Too bad he used a slow cooking recipe."

"What happened to him?"

"Ended up on the wrong end of my energy swords. Too bad for him though, I would have been delicious. Just wished he would of used a better recipe, I hate mushrooms. Can't stand the taste."

Velvet laughed. I guess that helped break some of tension between us. I still remember that like it was yesterday. Still got the bastard's cookbook as a spoil of war. He had some interesting, and rather delicious recipes. Most of which include either rabbit, human, or pork. Safe to say I never tried the middle one. Though I'll admit, rabbit is very good if you cook it right.

"Oh Monty, That must have been a funny day." Velvet giggled out lightly.

"It was, till my sister chewed me out for being careless." I chuckled.

"Well we're at your stop, He's on the top floor. Guess I'll see you later John." She informed as we stopped by a elevator. I smiled as she gave me my helmet back and started hobbling down the hall. I held it under my arm.

"See ya later Velvet." I shouted as the elevator opened/ I began my trip up to visit a anticipating headmaster.

"Ah Mr. Grey, You're here. I was about to be on my way to get another cup of coffee." Ozpin greeted. His office was weird, even by my standers. Gears were moving freely through the ceiling, even his chair looked to have a few on them. Massive window over looking the court yard I fought in. Courtyard looked to be brand new, like the fight never happened. Weird. "I assume you came to a decision."

"In fact I have. I decided to accept your offer." I replied to Ozpin's question. The smile on Ozpin's face was sort of a mixture between surprised and happy. Guess he didn't expect me to take him up on his offer. He smiled putting his coffee cup down.

"Wonderful, I'll get started on filling out your transcripts momentarily . . . " He quite happily said

"But I have a few conditions, as I'm sure you have a few of your own too." I cut him off with a smirk. He chuckled a bit before reaching for his tablet thing and pushed a button.

"Glynda, would you mind filling for me today? I got a meeting with our special guest to attend." He spoke to the tablet thing. I would say I want one, but my helmet is a lot better and enough for me. Seriously the damn thing a AI travel port, Promethean vision which comes in handy from time to time, Auto-adjusting clock, MP3 when I need it. Radio communicator, both long and short range. Motion tracker, List goes on. Hopefully none of the systems in the helmet got fried.

"Alright, but you owe me one." A female voice, who I expect to be named Glynda, answered. He smiled pulling a spare coffee mug from a drew in his desk. I can tell this won't be a quick negotiation.

"Want some? I have a feeling this might take awhile." He offered. I declined because I'm not a huge coffee person, Only on occasion or when I can't stay awake. He shrugged and put the cup back. "First order of business, is living accommodations, normally I would pair you up with a team of four. But the timing of your arrival is a tad too late for that." He explained. I curiously nodded and agreed.

"If I may, what are the teams for, and what exactly does this school teach?" I asked. If i'm going to stay here, might as well try to figure out what I'm going to learn, or try to learn anyway. Ozpin chuckled as he sipped his coffee.

"To answer your last question, this is a combat school. We teach our students to fight as teams, to work together. Teams of four work best, normally well rounded, and effective." He answered.

"Learning to fight what?" I asked.

"That, is the million Lien question. What do we fight truly. The Grimm threat, rouge extremist terror group, just about everything, you'll learn quickly soon enough." He replied. "Anyway, as I way saying before. You'll have to bunk with one of the teams for the time being. Gives me time to clean out a vacant room in case one of your friends get stuck here as well."

I nodded in agreement. Understandable reasons. Hopefully my roommates don't mess with my armor, who ever they will be. I can sleep on the couch or if needed the floor. "I can live with that. Now on to the conditions of my agreement. We can get to the minor details later." I informed. He just nodded and signaled me to go on. "First, this one isn't negotiable in any way, I don't want anyone to know too much about me or my past. Less they know the happier they will be. I'll be the one to tell people I trust who I am and what I've done. Don't pry for too much information, you won't like any of it." I responded in a deadly calm voice. I only told Velvet a little bit about myself and were I came from earlier because she seems trust worthy, And I owe her answers. I don't go back on my word, But I won't give out the entire truth. Still wondering how I'm still sane after all I've been through and seen. Oh right, the medicine. Now I really hope my armor is okay, without those meds I'd go insane or severely injure someone.

"Acceptable condition" He agreed.

"Second. The surviving weapons collected from the Prometheans, destroy them and leave nothing to chance." I requested. "Those weapons are too powerful should they fall into the wrong hands. No offence but from what I've seen, your world isn't ready for that tier of tech just yet." Ozpin shook his head in disagreement.

"That I can't agree to. If similar or worse shows up we need something to counter them. How about we lock them away, only me and you will have the keys or knowledge of their exact location. A compromise for us both." He countered. Damn he's good. I'll have to be smart and play my cards right.

"Fine, but if there is even the slightest security breach involving those weapons, I'm destroying every last one of them myself and without warning."

"I can live with that." He took another sip of his coffee. "Let's move on to the classes you'll be taking, I already know which team to assign you to live with temporally. Thinking the same Lunch as Velvet because you get along well with her. I'll have to see which classes are available for late transfer students."

Yep, I'm going back to school. Back to being the nerd in the classroom. Hopefully this time I won't have spit balls in my hair, or paper airplanes shot at my eye. Short version, I HATED SCHOOL! Through what Velvet said earlier has me confused. I don't see why anyone would pick on her for having rabbit ears, Better question is why does she have rabbit ears. Good majority of the people I've seen here are human, or look extremely human like. Few had animal characteristics like ears or tails. One or two had wolf like characteristics, few had deer or elk like features, even a few reptilian like ones.

"If I may ask a unrelated question." I asked. He nodded for me to continue. "What's the technical name for the animal/human hybrids, forgive me if it is insulting to call them that, that I keep finding around here? Not that I have anything against them, I just have bad experiences with hybrids and don't want to piss off any if I can help it." I asked. As many could already guess, I have lots of bad experiences with human hybrids. Human/alien, Human/animal, even human/ghost. But the craziest and deadliest by far was the human/dinosaur hybrids. Talk about messed up and freaky looking, almost bit the dust a few times there. I'd gladly take the hybrids here over any of the earlier mentioned ones ANY DAY! Lot less deadly looking and so far none have tried to kill/cook me.

"Glad you asked before you upset the wrong people, they're called Faunus. Technically another species but let's not dwell on the details. I believe you are well acquainted with one already, Ms. Scarlatina. A rabbit faunus I believe. Much like humans only they have animal characteristics, Some obvious like ears or tails, others not to obvious like retractable claws or fang like teeth. Doesn't make them any less human than you or I." He answered.

"Know that feeling. Racists are a problem no matter where you go. Though I personally view everyone as an equal until proven otherwise. Life is much happier when you don't give a crap about other people's race, religion, sexuality, etc, and treat everyone the same. One of the many lessons I learned in my travels." I said with a very honest tone. Almost getting turned into human shaped Swiss cheese a few dozen times, thanks to a few idiots I use to travel with, does teach you a lot of life lessons. Like don't trust the Cake, also still wish I kept that portal gun.

"Glad we're on the same page. Now on to one of my conditions." Ozpin spoke sternly. "You mustn't harm anyone without reason while being here. I can understand a lot of your concerns and points of view, but do note that I won't give you any special treatment. You'll be treated with the same respect as any other student."

I thought about that one for a bit. I couldn't promise I wouldn't harm anyone, I have a very short fuse when it comes to bullies and assholes. If they're bulling me, I'm sure I can keep them at bay without ripping them in half. If they're bullying others, I can't promise I won't get my foot stuck in their ass after severely kicking it with the other. But it was a manageable condition never the less.

"I can agree to that, but I will use violence to defend myself or others if needed."

"Try to keep it to a minimum."

"Only if they don't do anything stupid."

"Good"

He took another sip of coffee.

"Now, Let's get start working on the cover-story."

(Velvet's POV)

several hours later

I was doing a bit of research on my scroll in my dorm. My leg was feeling a lot better but not perfect. Apparently when the Promethean shot me, the round shot through my leg bone and burned it's way out. Hurt like heck but at lest I'm alive. I should be fine later, doctor said that my leg should fully heal by tomorrow. I really hate these crutches. But the good news is I had a excuse for being late for class.

My thoughts were mainly on Johnathan. He seems nothing like the man who saved me. Against the Prometheans, his eyes were cold, calculating, held lots of anger and frustration. When he woke up or during breakfast, his eyes were full of curiosity, seemed gentle yet held a deadly aura at the same time. Maybe him getting thrown into a wall broke something mentally? His weaponry is unlike anything I've ever seen. I've researched a very wide variety of weapons and combinations. His swords and rifle match nothing I can find online. It just makes no sense.

I'll start with his sword. It appeared almost out of nowhere when he squeezed the hilts. It's coloration and electric sparks suggests that it isn't dust based or infused. Seemed to burn whatever it passed through suggesting it's heated. Plasma based maybe? But there's no known functional plasma based weaponry anywhere, just tons of theories and several thousand videos of failed attempts ending in either horrific injuries and worse. It was also way too compact for anything that dangerous, let alone effective.

Now his rifle, well what's left of it. It looked like it was pulled out of a science fiction novel. The barrel glowed when he pulled the trigger, like it was discharging a lot of stored energy. The sound it made was something I'll never forget. Everything about it suggests that it is a railgun or a railgun like concept, but the power source required to even make it worth while isn't anywhere close to small enough to fit in a gun that size.

Pistols were the easiest part, Ammo in the one was what puzzled her. They were regular desert eagles, standard military pistol in Atlas. Yet one fired weird ammo. Looked like hardened paint tip rounds, Yet when the round met it's target, it expanded and encased a small area in the purple goop. Stuff was as hard as a rock, Fox found that out the hard way when Coco shot his foot for fun the other day. Came off less then an hour. Makes me conclude that the rounds were non-lethal, but pretty painful from the almost girl like scream from Fox's end again when Coco shoots a bit higher. Other fired a primitive gunpowder projectile rounds, hollow point 44 magnum rounds. Really effective against non-armored targets. But the recoil is imminence, nearly snapped my wrist shooting it.

His armor is a even more puzzling story. I looked up Power armor, alien armor, even military power armor, everything I can think of, but I can't find anything on it anywhere close. No pictures, no theories, no nothing. Not even a whisper of a trace. Like it doesn't exist anywhere. Where exactly is this guy from? Yastuhashi had to be the one to carry his armor into the room, even he had trouble doing so. It was that freaking heavy, Me and Coco had a tough time getting the chest piece in here without crushing out fingers. Coco thinks it is made of titanium, but titanium is too heavy to be used as effective body armor. . . can it? Maybe Johnathan is just strong and the armor's weight is like nothing to him. If that's the case then i hate to see how much he can bench press.

"Doing some digging I see." Coco's voice rang through the dorm. I look up to find her walking through the doorway to the bed next to mine.

Our dorm wasn't really too fancy. Four neatly made beds, Middle left was mine. Girls on the left, boys on the right. Though Yatsuhashi's bed was a bit longer and sturdier to account for his larger height. Large dresser full of cloths from Coco's famous shopping sprees. Few posters hung on the wall, small couch aimed at the dorm's TV. Even a few meditating candles for Yatsuhashi on a nightstand. But the newest edition was the thick metal stand with Johnathan's armor. Box of his weapons which contained both his swords, Thankfully Coco has good taste with interior design and was able to make it all fit together alright. Lucky we got one of the bigger dorms, Think they accounted for that with Yatsuhashi's height.

"Yeah, just beyond curious about the stuff Johnathan has. Almost none of it matches anything online. Don't know whether to be impressed or scared." I replied to my team's leader.

"If you want my opinion, I'd be impressed. That means he either built the stuff himself or stole it from someone really high up in the world. Either way I'd be impressed, that means he has skill." Coco said giving her two cents. "Curious on how Fox would look in his armor. Or even if he would be able to handle the weight of it?"

I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "A man appears out of a weird portal, fought off and got knocked out by some weird robots aliens. Had his armor stripped, then given to us to watch for the past few days, and your wondering how one of our team mates would look in it?" I asked with all seriousness in my voice.

"Yep." She said making a popping sound at the end looking out the door to see something. "Speak of the blind devil. Hey Fox! Get in here, I want you to try something on!" She yelled down the hall to him rounding a corner. Fox, who learned not to trust Coco when she says that, ran as fast as he could away from our dorm. Too bad Fox is blind, half the stuff Coco tricked him to wear was hilarious.

"Okay, forget that idea. I'll use someone else." She now was looking at the armor. Then back at herself. Then the armor. Then herself. Then the armor. Then at me with a sly huge smirk on her face. Why do I have a deep feeling this is going to end badly.

Few minutes later

(Johnathan's POV)

"So we're at an agreement then. I'll say your a transfer from Atlas, The Prometheans were a malfunctioning group of experimental security drones, you built all your equipment yourself, and your portal was also an experimental method of travel. Rest of your cover story is up to you." Ozpin reminded a he was filling out my transcripts. Of course it would take a while to complete them but he has most of it down. Our lie was pretty much foolproof. As long as people don't try to know me too well. Oh god I hope this doesn't fail. Last time I was stuck in a different universe, it took Serena almost three months to find me, and I was almost zombie chow several times. That was also a lot closer to home than I am now. This time it could take her several months, if not a year to find me. Still a bit confused on how distance is measured in the multiverse, or time for that matter.

"Sounds good enough for me. As long as your buddy can keep his end of the deal." I said taking a sip of water. Decided to take him up on the drink offer about an hour ago, when we were going into the smaller details of the lie. Few small plates were on the desk, I must say the chicken here is amazing, remind me to pass my compliments to the chief of this place. He is a magician, never knew chicken could taste that good.

"I have confidence he will. James owes me a favor or two." He informed finishing up the last page of my false transcripts and ID papers. He pushed himself from the desk and sat up with a smile. "Now that we have almost everything settled and what not, I'll take you to your temporary dorm room."

I smiled as I placed my mug down. Finally I'd get to meet the people who I'd be sharing a room with for a bit, and check on my equipment later. Who knows, they might be nice people. I got up to pick my helmet off the ground as we walked toward the elevator down.

"So, who's the lucky people I'll be staying with?" I asked. He just chuckled a bit.

"You'll see. I have a feeling you already know them." He said cryptically. I just looked at him confused, I only knew a total of five students here. Doubt he would bunk me with Nora, No offense to her or anything. That only left Velvet's team who was... Damn it. I forgot the team's name. Something to do with a type of beverage. Team Cafe' I think? no Caffeine? Maybe Cappuccino? Damn my forgetful memory!

The trip down the hall was a pretty silent and awkward one. I still had no idea who I was going to be bunking with. More then likely Velvet or Nora's team. I knew very little about both of them. But I kind of get the feeling that Nora is a psychotic serial killer deep down, just waiting to be set free. Velvet I get the feeling that she is the type of person who is beyond gentle and caring, till you push her past her breaking point. Call it personal experience, but it's always the silent/kind ones you have to watch out for the most. May not look like too much of a threat on the outside but when you push them too far you'd better be ready for the fight of your life. I still regret pissing Doc off that day. Did not end too well on my part. Well if worse comes to worst. This wouldn't be too bad of a place to be stuck in. Not the best place I'd like to be stuck in yet not the worst I can think of. Going back to school is a pain, but I'll live. I'd have to make a few friends/allies to survive till Serena comes to get me. Velvet would be a good ally to have, from the short time I've been with her she's been friendly. Now I can tell when people are acting to get me to like them. Call it a bullshit detector or six sense if people want, there is a good reason why I don't go to political rallies, non-stop sneezing from all the bullshit being said. Velvet was genuinely being kind and shy.

"Here we are, Your temporary living quarters" Ozpin said interrupting my train of thought. All I saw in front of me was oak door with small letters saying 'CFVY'. I mentally smacked myself. I forgot Velvet's team name earlier and now I was looking right at their dorm door. Abbreviated word for coffee, clever.

"Ouch, Son of a bitch, I don't think that is suppose to go like that either. OWW!" A familiar female voice yelled in a bit of pain behind the door. Think her name was Coco. Please tell me she's not doing what I'm thinking. Tucker I'm going to kill you if I am right on this.

"This doesn't come with an instruction manual, I'm guessing, now where does this thing go?" A different female voice said. This one I knew was Velvet. What in god's name could they be doing. Ozpin knocked on the door.

"Oh crap, someone's coming. Quick, help me get out of this thing." Coco said panicking. I look right at Ozpin with my best poker face.

"I have three guesses to what their doing. I can eliminate two with a simple voice activated phrase."

"What what might that be?" He asked.

"ARMOR, VOICE COMMAND; CODE WHITE LOCKDOWN!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. Few mechanical clicks and a loud clash.

"I can't move. Why can't I move?" Coco asked. I opened the door. Laying on the floor in my armor was Coco trying to wiggle her way out of it with several metal objects magnetized to her. Was almost too funny. Armor lock down, my favorite feature. It was a huge pain in my ass to figure out how to make it like that without the Gel layer. Mostly use powerful electro magnets and opposite polarities to keep them in line. Call me paranoid but i like having the option to keep my armor mine when it gets stolen. How she was able to walk more then a foot in that thousand pound set of armor I'll never know. Helmet alone is close to a hundred pounds. How Velvet was able to hold it is beyond me. No offense to her but there is no way in hell I can see her pick up a hundred pounds with one hand.

I smirked as Ozpin raised a eyebrow at me. "It's a safety feature I added, In case someone tried to steal my armor or if I'm falling it helps minimize the damage I take. Be happy I didn't say code red. Her bones would break till it becomes a fine powder in that type of armor." I informed happily strolling over to the now giant paperweight laying on the floor. So glad the Force-Multiplying Circuits don't activate till all the pieces are properly in place. Other wise she'd be in a world of pain right now, by pain I mean every bone broken or pulverized to dust. Excruciatingly painful way to die.

Though she kind of put it on wrong. The thigh pieces were backwards, forearms were upside down. Only pieces that were on right was the chest piece and boots. How she managed to lift the pieces in place I won't question. Normally I'd be beyond pissed someone was in my armor. But since she had almost all the pieces backwards or in the wrong spot, I let it go because she looked kind of funny. Velvet was kind of off to the side trying to not be seen easily.

"Armor, voice command, unlock and detach." I ordered. Few beeps, clicks and hisses of air later the armor fell right off her. "It was a pain in the ass to install those commands, but boy was it worth it in the end."

"Why were you in Mr Gray's armor Ms Adel?" Ozpin asked walking in the room.

"I was curious on how I'd look in it. Now that I know, I don't want one. Way too much blue for my taste, and it pinches certain areas I rather not mention." Coco explained obviously a little embarrassed.

"That's because you had the cod piece backwards. Suppose to go the other way around and the thigh piece were switched around. " I said trying and failing to hold in my laughter.

"As I was about to say. CFVY, this is your new roommate for now. Please treat him as if he was apart of the team. I got to get back to my office to finish some errands. His initiation will be tomorrow. You know what to do in the meantime." Ozpin quickly informed leaving the room.

"Well, I'll be breaking the news to Fox and Yatsuhashi if anyone needs me." Coco quickly said changing the subject and more then likely avoiding the awkward tension in the room. She quickly followed Ozpin's example and left the room, leaving me and Velvet alone...Again.

"S-Sorry for m-messing with your armor." Velvet apologized. Again, normally I'd be pissed that someone messed with my armor without reason, but since I'll be stuck with them a while, can't hold grudges for too long. But if they try it again I won't hesitate to remotely enable the Force-Multiplying Circuits to teach the one in my armor lesson. Takes one time for that kind of lesson to stick.

"It's okay. It was funnier than anything else seeing the pieces all mixed up and in the wrong places on someone. So I can't hold against you yet." I informed placing my helmet on a nightstand and started picking up the armor pieces. "If you want, I can show you how it properly goes together some time." I offered. Velvet seems trustworthy, plus the damn armor is over a ton. If they can walk more then two feet in it without crumbling to the floor I'll let them take it on a joy ride. That and it normally takes two or more people to put the armor on effectively. I can do it alone but that would take at least an hour. I'd rather there be less time between when I get to my armor and when I get to what I need to fight.

"W-Why?" She asked innocently.

"I'd need help putting this on. Not the easiest thing in the world, hell even with the changes I made it is still a pain in my ass." I replied inspecting the pieces for damage. Nothing serious, just a few scratches in the paint, few dents, worse I can find on the set is the slash on the helmet. I put the armor segments on the armor stand.

(Velvet's POV)

To say I was embarrassed would be a understatement. Coco somehow convinced me to help her into Johnathan's armor, got locked in said armor, then kicked out of it, and I'm pretty much standing here like a deer in headlights. I was surprised that he didn't get mad at Coco for being in his armor, or me for helping her in it, Then he offers to show me how to put it on? I must be going insane, or ate a bad veggie for lunch. I'm going with the later because that potato tasted kind of funny.

"Question, where's my weapons? I need to check on something." Johnathan asked interrupting my train of thought. I pointed to a box in the corner of the room by the stand his armor was on.

"Over there. We wanted to keep them close to your armor in case you did wake up." I answered.

"Thank you. That was really thoughtful of you guys." He thanked walking over it to. Almost immediately pulling out what's left of his rifle. "Going to have to rebuild the whole goddamn barrel from scratch. Might be able to salvage some of it. Oh Allah, please don't let the power cell be cracked." He prayed in a whisper as he pulled something out from the stock. Looked a lot like an ammo mag but was a lot smaller and better protected, and was glowing a bit from a few cracks. Small amount of smoke came from the cracks as it left it's compartment. Smell awful as well, like rotted eggs. "Damn it. It's already in a melt down. Going to have to depose of it quickly." He swore looking out the window that had a good view of the Emerald forest. "Hey, does anyone live in that forest?" He asked picking up one of his pistols. From her guess it was the gunpowder one. This can't be good.

"Nothing but Grimm, might find a squirrel or two. No people or Faunus in the area that I know of." I answered. He opened the window and moved the curtains aside. Taking a few steps back.

"You might want to cover both your ears. This might get a little loud." He warned pulling the arm with the box into a baseball pitch aiming out the window. Putting two and two together, I pushed my rabbit ears flat on my head as I tried to cover my human ones too. He released the box and it went flying out the window toward the Emerald forest. Aiming his pistol out the window, he waited a few seconds before pulling the trigger. First came the ring of his round firing, then a much bigger one as a ball of fire engulfed the air above the forest, the entire building shook in it's wake, light fixtures flickered, windows threatened to break as they shook violently under the sound waves. I even heard some glass break from down the hall.

"WHAT THE FUCK WAS IN THAT!" I screamed. Now I rarely swear, I drop the f bomb even less, but I think that in this situation one was necessary. He lowered his pistol, closed the window, and looked at me with a straight face.

"Hydrogen power cell normally found in a T-850 terminator line. I need it to fire my railgun. Powerful but highly unstable if exposed to oxygen for too long. It's holding compartment is compromised and the cell itself was ready to explode. I had to get it out of the room before it went off, surprised it didn't earlier. Minimal damage to the surrounding area, sure scared the shit out of some birds though. Glad no one parked under them." He joked a bit. Forget the birds, almost literally scared the crap right out of me! Coco practically kicked the door down with Fox and Yatsuhashi flanking her. All looking concerned with Coco wielding a pipe she appeared to have pulled from the wall.

"WHAT HAPPENED! I heard a explosion from here!" Coco ran in demanding as she looked around the room. How did she get here so quickly from Monty knows where? I swear when she needs to be, she can be faster than that new kid, Ruby i think her name was. Well, at least she cares about her team's safety, maybe she's more concerned about her limited edition designer boots.

"Nothing serious, just had to dispose of a potential danger quickly. Couldn't repair the fuel cell to my railgun. Only other option was to set it off over a uninhabitable area. Not radioactive so no need to worry about the after effects." He repeated throwing his pistol in the box. More people came flocking to our dorm, even a few teachers, including Goodwitch storming her way through. Oh Johnathan is in BIG trouble.

"What exactly happened here Mr Grey?" She asked obviously very mad. You can pretty much feel her aura raging miles away. Choose your words very carefully Johnathan.

"How many times do I need to repeat myself. Long story summed up in short terms. Powerful power cell, Damaged, very deadly. It needed to get out of here before it can kill us all in a fiery hell storm." He spoke quickly in as few and as simple words as possible. Looking over the whole crowd. "I had it under control, I knew what I was doing, done it before a hundred times. Won't be a problem anymore as It was the last power cell I got. Sorry for waking or disturbing you all. It won't happen again." He yelled out apologizing as the crowd dissipated. Goodwitch still looked beyond ticked.

"I'll take your word for it at the moment. But if I hear another explosion that involves you without a teacher's permission or supervision, You'd hear from me first." With that she stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her. Coco and the rest of the team looked at him.

"So, that was interesting. Think that was enough excitement for one day, I call the. . ." He tried to finish before passing out. Lucky Yatsuhashi was able to catch him in time. He put a finger on his neck to check for a pulse. He looked at me with a nod as he set Johnathan on the sofa. He was alive.

"He has a hell of a lot of explaining to do when he wakes up. First he shows up with weird weapons and armor, then fights of even crazier things, then causes a terrifyingly weird explosion like he does it on a daily basis. I want to know why and what he's does to act like this." Coco explained. I looked at the sleeping form of Johnathan and begun wonder the same thing. He told me a bit but not a lot. Hopefully tomorrow will be more fruitful.

(Third person POV)

Ozpin was back at his desk watching a recording of Johnathan's fight on his scroll. Observing his unique fighting style with his weapons. Of course he had to slow it down to be able to follow what was going on. They were moving too fast naturally for him to get an accurate assumption of what was happening. Rarely anything goes down in this school without him knowing about it. He already had his paperwork done. Johnathan will be able to start tomorrow.

"Your watching that fight again aren't you?" Glynda asked walking into his office. Still looking a little ticked at Johnathan's explosion, but managed to calm down.

"His fighting style is extraordinary. Using his opponent's weaponry against them when he can, destroying what weaponry on them when he's busy with another, forcing them to go on the defensive. All while he's trying to keep them focused on him alone and away from everything else. Obviously has some military training just by the way he handles the situation. Special forces training by the way he fights in close quarters." He noted.

"You really think he can help? Seems a bit too unreliable to me." Glynda added.

"That's because he's outside of combat now. He appears to be a completely different person in periods of peace."

"That was one fight. Doesn't say a lot about him as a whole."

"No he is different. He fights not because he doesn't want to die. His style tell me that he's already accepted death as an option. He cut himself off from his home to protect who he can here, was willing to protect someone who he didn't know, a Faunus no less so we know his morals are good. Still too early to tell if we can trust him, but have a little faith, give him time. He'll open up eventually and give you something to trust. He's a skilled warrior no doubt, we just need to give him the right push so he doesn't end up in the wrong hands." He got up from his desk and looked out the window. Dark storm clouds filled the sky as a thunder started to rumble. "There is war coming on the horizon. It may not be soon, it may not even be this year, but it's coming. I feel it deep in my bones. All we can do is prepare who we can and pray for the best." Ozpin lectured. "And I seriously hope that we'll be ready when it happens."

And that's a wrap people. Figured I'd leave a bit of a cliffhanger just for the hell of it. Hope I didn't make anyone seem too out of character. But with team CFVY it's kind of hard not to because there is so little we know about them, other then they are badass as hell in a fight. Anyway, leave a review on what you liked and what needs improved. Hope you enjoyed and tiny amount of early story fluff.

I made Nora a bit more energetic because well, let's admit it, she's a crazy psychopath with a hammer/grenade launcher. Curious on what will happen to team CRDL when the rest of CFVY hears that they picked on Velvet in volume 3. I can see lots of blood and possibly a body bag or two. I would be happy at least one ends up in the ICU as karma.

With that said. We've seen a bit of character development with Johnathan. Before the Halo nerds hound me on something, no he isn't a Spartan nether, he just stole a IV's equipment. Though I honestly don't like the IV's. Seems in terms of quality vs quantity, they went with quantity with the IV's. I can even argue that they are sort of a compromise between the III's relatively cheap cost and the II's Efficiency on the battlefield. Sort of like best of both worlds for the ones in command. They may not be as good as a II, but about they are as expendable as a III.

Speaking of which. I need ideas on which team should Johnathan be stuck living with, if he decides to stay. I'm debating between RWBY, JNPR, or CFVY. I'll let you, my loyal fans, decide on which sounds better. I'll adjust wherever needed. Till then, See ya.

~Edit notes~

Hello everyone. Going back and editing this entire story heavily to make it more plot friendly than it sits now (which is basically no plot and a bunch of random BS from when I was in high school). Combining chapters and making it flow better as I reread it often to hunt the little mistakes, edit huge continuity errors, and try to find/fix plot holes. Feel free to list any you find in the PM, I'll edit it when i get time from work now. This story is getting a overhaul and I will not stop until it is satisfactory.
