For the village of Konoha, the night of October tenth is a very painful event to remember because on that same night, the Nine-Tailed Fox was suddenly unleashed, wreaking havoc on the village and claiming the lives of several ninjas who breathed their last that night, buying time for their Yondaime Hokage to save them from what surely would have been the destruction of their village at the hands of that beast, leaving many severely injured due to its rampage.
At the end of that fateful night, the entire village had a day to mourn their loved ones who fell prey to a beast without reason. Adults, children, and even the elderly lost someone dear that night, not even the former Hokage of the village escaped, losing his wife at the hands of an unknown ninja who caused all that disaster. But one person who gained and lost everything that night was the current Hokage, Namikaze Minato.
He lost his wife, the former jinchuriki of the Nine-Tailed Fox, in childbirth. She was attacked by the ninja who infiltrated their village, threatening one of their newborn sons when her seal was weakened. Taking one of their newborn sons as a hostage so he would stay away from his wife, he was backed against the wall by the danger his newborn son faced. Faced with the possibility of his son being harmed by the attacker and his wife's pleas to save him, he had to yield to her demands to act quickly when he had the slightest opportunity. Demonstrating his nickname as the "Yellow Flash," he saved his children in a matter of seconds, putting them out of harm's way at the grave cost of leaving his wife alone with the attacker.
Arriving in the last moments only to see with despair as the Nine-Tailed Fox broke free from his wife's seal and the enemy ninja took control of it, he didn't have to think much to put his weakened wife in the same place where their children were.
Acting as the Yondaime Hokage of his village, he confronted the enemy ninja, managing to make him flee when he could remove the control he had over the Nine-Tailed Fox, leaving him only with the problem of having to seal it again. But here was where another problem arose: his wife was too weak to seal it again in her, and there was no one else who could withstand it, entering into an internal dilemma as a father and Hokage.
As Hokage, he had the responsibility to put the village above his own life or even his own family, but as the recent father of three children, he didn't want to impose on them the great responsibility of being a jinchuriki, knowing how the villages treated them, seeing them with disdain or even just as weapons. Kushina was seen like that just because she was a foreigner, but that only increased when they found out she was the jinchuriki of the Nine-Tailed Fox.
His life at that moment could have been worse if it weren't for his help along with his friends who protected her from all the danger that some fools in the village wanted to bring upon her. That's why his dilemma of sealing the fox in his children or not, but he had to make a quick decision because the fox was causing havoc in the village he swore to protect when he was appointed Hokage.
It didn't take him long to make the preparations for the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, placing his first two children on the altar, the first being a boy with yellow hair and the other a girl with yellow hair, showing that the dominant gene in them was his because of their hair. But the third one was different because his hair was the same color as his wife's, an intense red, being the youngest of them as he was the last one born. With his wife's screams behind him not to condemn them to the life she lived.
With a heavy heart, he made the seal, first dividing the Nine-Tailed Fox's yin chakra and sealing it in his eldest son, being on the verge of finalizing the seal to seal the yang chakra in his daughter. He and his wife saw a claw of the fox coming towards his daughter to prevent it from being fully sealed, so acting quickly, they both got in the way to interfere with the malicious intentions of the fox. But Kushina, doing an action that Minato didn't expect, pushed him out of the way, being the only one to be pierced by the fox.
Everything in front of his eyes shattered his world because one of the people he loved the most died without him being able to do anything, leaving him alone with three newborn children and a village that would fall into ruin if he didn't act quickly. That's why, even with his pain, he remained firm, not letting the pain consume him, giving orders to the ninja who were still well to help the injured villagers.
The first years of the village's reconstruction were difficult for him because he had a village on the verge of collapse and a crowd demanding to know who the new jinchurikis of the fox were, surely to seek revenge against them for not being able to touch the fox that was now sealed in his children. But being the Hokage of the village, he put an end to the demands of the villagers by revealing that his children were the new jinchurikis and should be treated as heroes because without them, all those who wanted their deaths would be among the dead who mourned that night. And if they weren't satisfied with his answer, they could try to cross him because while the Hokage of his village was also the father of the jinchurikis, and he wouldn't let them hurt them.
With the support of the clans along with the help of the former Sandaime and two of the three Sannin in the village, he managed to keep his children safe from any idiot who tried to harm them. So, some years passed until his children's eighth birthday, celebrating it with family friends such as the heads of the clans with whom he had been friends since childhood, the relevant ones being the Uchiha, Hyuga, Inuzuka, and Nara, and their children became friends with them.
But focusing on his children, they grew up surrounded by family friends such as their godparents Jiraiya and Tsunade, who took on the role of surrogate mother for his children when he couldn't take care of them, his student Kakashi, who, even though he was in ANBU, was present in his children's lives as much as possible, being considered by them as their older brother, and the old Hiruzen, after the loss of his wife, found comfort in his children, being the grandfather who visited them from time to time when he could because even though he retired from being Hokage, he was their advisor.
On the other hand, his eldest children, Kenzo and Kaori, were in short words a copy of him in appearance, but in personality, they were a carbon copy of his wife, being imperfect, cheerful, and impatient when they wanted something desperately, reminding him of his wife when he first met her. But mentioning her, the one who reminded him most of her just by looking at him was his third son, who was the most physically similar to her, inheriting more traits from her than from him.
Having porcelain skin with a slender and athletic build, strange for a child his age according to Tsunade's words when she examined him, scarlet-colored hair that he always wore in a messy ponytail that reached the middle of his back, which could have been what most set him apart as it did with his wife if it weren't for his unique eyes that were neither his nor his wife's, being golden eyes that almost seemed like those of a cat, with rounded pupils accompanied by them.
Tsunade couldn't explain why his third son had those extravagant eyes, reaching the hypothesis that perhaps some Uzumaki ancestor of Kushina had that strange eye mutation that his son had inherited. Another thing to highlight about his son was the difference in personality he had with his siblings, being serious and maintaining a serene face most of the time.
The relationship he maintained with his third son in public eyes could be categorized more as a mentorship than anything else because instead of playing with other children his age like his siblings did, he spent most of his time in his personal library entertaining himself with chakra theory books, something advanced for his age. But he was calm most of the time; if he wasn't reading, he was in his office keeping him company while he worked on paperwork. He would sit in front of him reading for hours, books that were given to him so he wouldn't read things he shouldn't, until the old Sandaime or Tsunade's assistant came for him when he had meetings.
It wasn't that he minded having him around, but he was more than happy that one of his children inherited his passion for reading when he was a child. What worried him was that he didn't enjoy his childhood, staying focused on advanced books for children his age because he had already seen that in one of the prodigious ninjas who rose too quickly in the ninja ranks to become an ANBU captain at thirteen years old. His son was too much like Itachi Uchiha.
It was clear to him that his mind was that of a prodigy on the rise, and although his other children were also smart for their age, they didn't reach the understanding of the things that his third son, Naruto, had about the ninja world. However, his reflections on his children were interrupted when a scream echoed in his house, drawing the attention of the guests to the outside patio.
He didn't take long to go there with the others to find out what was happening, coming across an unexpected scene because in front of him lay his eldest son, Kenzo, on the ground bleeding from the nose from a well-aimed blow, having to take the same one to stop the bleeding, and standing in front of him was the one responsible for hitting him, none other than his youngest son.
He could have said something to find out what had happened there to his daughter who was in the same place, but no words came out of his mouth when Naruto's enigmatic eyes stared at him as if he were waiting for some scolding from him.
And there I leave it because I like to leave stories of this style right there, in suspense.
