Chapter 30

Being bad never felt so good

Week 9: Day 66

(Maine's POV)

Vale fair grounds

(A/N: This chapter I'm going to try to make the Meta seem a little more human, keyword; a little. He'll still be a beast of a man, but I just want to play with his backstory a bit and make him more believable if I want the Neo X Maine ship to work. Maybe work on Neo a bit while I'm at it. Also, there will be lot of sarcasm.)

"I'm sorry folks. We're experiencing some technical difficulties. Apparently the dumbass beside me thought it would be good idea to leave his drink on top of the control panel."

"Hey, how was I supposed to know my soda would topple over and short circuit the machine."

"Liquid and electricity don't go together ever! It's common sense you fucking moron!"

This was just great. Just absolutely perfect. I'm trapped on top of the ferris wheel with Neo right beside me, turning night, and I have two incompetent idiots trying to fix the control panel to let us down. I swear if I am left up here with Omega and Gamma teasing me for another minute, I'm jumping for it. Will I die, most definitely. But at least I won't have to put up with their Damn voices all the time!

I was watching the ground below as we swung in the car. Neo some how 'talked' me into going on this thing. She was currently shivering her ass off next to me. Sigma decided to go offline and 'sleep' till Gamma and Omega calmed down. The two idiots are still cracking jokes about me and Neo, all of which are sexually oriented in some way. Why couldn't Ohio take them instead? They're getting beyond annoying.

The fair grounds themselves were rather nice. Banner over head for the Vytal festival, people over all enjoying themselves, plus the food is edible. More then I can say for the Freelancer mess hall during Fish Fridays. I don't know what that meat was, but it sure as hell wasn't fish. For one, fish don't taste like burnt rubber . . . or look like it either. I can get use to some R&R here. Metal Gear demonstration isn't till tomorrow, already got it moved to the warehouse before hand. Everything is going smooth as can be. What's better is Cinder is going to Beacon with Emerald and Mercury. Scoping out the scene for the next phase of her plan, which she has yet to tell me anything about. Emily is back at base 'controlling' the Indominus Rex before it goes on a rampage prematurely. Me, she just told me to keep an eye on Neo and to help Roman with the recruiting. Not a problem. I'll keep my helmet on so they won't know I am human, easy enough.

Another gust of chilly fall air pelted our car. Being as high up as we are, and how cold the air got when the sun went down, I would bet money that Neo is not too comfortable right now. I've learned to ignore the cold. Sidewinder does that to people. You either learn to ignore it or you end up bitching about it all day long. Neo on the other hand, she looked ready to turn into a popsicle. Hands rubbing up and down her arms, trying desperately to warm them up. Teeth chattering as the wind blew once more. Poor girl, she almost has my pity. Keyword; almost. This is payback for dragging me up here. I do not like being dragged everywhere like a pack mule.

"Hey Meta, you should give her your hoodie to stay warm. If you're lucky she'll let you 'warm her up' in other ways later." Omega teased from the back of my head. The idiot found his way into my brain once more. Now I can't get him to shut up.

"Be realistic O'malley. She'll probably give him some 'ice cream' to go with it. With how chilly it is up here, I wouldn't be surprised if his tongue got stuck." Gamma teased joining Omega in a laughing fit, and that idiot did as well. How do I make an AI's death as painful as possible? EMP would be too swift for those two clowns. Simply stomping on their chips is too good for them. Maybe I'll give them to the bull guy for a few days. What was his name? Adam something. They'll shut up real quick after a week with him. I'll admit I am a psychotic man with few needs and even less patience, but Adam is just downright sadistic. Coming from someone like me, that says a LOT! He takes pleasure drawing out his victim's agony and suffering. Me or Neo are a different story, we kill our prey out right. Yeah we may toy with our victims a little bit, for shits and giggles mostly, but nowhere near as sadistic as he does. If I want someone dead, I kill them. Plain and simple. I don't like them too much, then I draw out their unavoidable death. Neo wants someone dead, she may play with them to an extent, mostly for amusement but kills them before they know what hit them. We got some standards when it comes to killing. Quick and easy, maybe a little messing with them if we feel like it. If we don't like them too much then we toy with them before killing them. But we don't draw out their agony unless we really don't like who we're killing. To me, that would be the sleeveless insurrectionist soldier who shot me in the throat. Him I admit to toying with a bit, but in the end I killed him a lot swifter then Adam would have.

As much as I hate to admit it, one of the two morons are somewhat right. She doesn't seem to fare well against the cold. I can last a lot longer in this cold weather then her. We both may be on somewhat 'working' terms, but that doesn't mean I have to be nice to her. She should have brought a jacket. Cinder told us it might get cold later in the day. I softly glanced over the the little psychopath again. She does remind me a lot of my wife. Same taste in color, same love for mischief, I'll even go as far as saying they have the same smile. I shook my head to clear myself of those thoughts. No one can replace Grace, she left too big a hole in my heart after her murder. A bottomless abyss that can only be filled with the blood of my enemies. Once I get Mu and the other AI off Ohio, the Covenant will regret everything they've done to me. I wouldn't rest till I have their leader's heads on a pike, and their families at my feet begging for mercy. Would I give them any sort of mercy? That depends on my mood at the time and if I feel like justice has been served. Maybe not even then.

If I want this 'truce' to workout, I'll have to be the stronger of the two party. I pulled my arms in and took off the hoodie, revealing my old college 'Grifball championship 2540' t-shirt I wore. I tapped Neo's shoulder. She looked up as I handed her the over sized hoodie. Probably would be too big on her, but it is better than nothing. She smiled at me as she put it on just as quickly as I took it off. Cold winds pelted the thin shirt like pissed off hornets, I just ignored it. If anything this was a brisk summer day compared to the cold vacuum of space.

"Ho. . . ly. . . crap he actually gave it to her. Quick, ask for a kiss in return! I bet her lips will taste like ice cream." Omega teased.

"Which pair of lips? The one that eats, or the one that gets eaten." Gamma teased as the two shared another fit of laughter. Damn it, I can't say nothing there. That was a good one for being on the spot.

"You kiss your mother with that filthy mouth?" Omega asked calming down slightly.

"I could ask you the same thing you dirty Shisno. You're just as bad." Gamma replied.

"Touche. Damn that was a good one. Cheap and dirty, but a good one never the less." Omega complemented, something he rarely ever does. The two remained in silence again before sharing another fit of laughter. I held my head in frustration as their voiced pierced my skull. Every word they spoke felt like a smack with a flaming hammer. Neo tugged on my arm again and her scroll. I was right. The hoodie was way too big on her. The bottom part came down to her knees. She could wear it like a dress or a nightgown if she wanted to. Sleeves were longer then her arms, which she had to roll up to her wrists. Overall it looked baggy on her. She didn't seem to care as she smiled shyly back at me.

Neo: Thanks for the hoodie, It was starting to get chilly.

Meta: Don't mention it. Couldn't let you freeze to death up here. Cinder and Emily would have me pull double duty to make up for it. Besides, I don't want to explain to the ride operator why there is a popsicle in the car with me.

She playfully stuck her tongue out as she casually snuggled up against my chest. I raised an eyebrow at her as we rocked back and forth on the stranded car. Looking out over the city, this was actually a pretty good view. I'll admit it, I like the view from up here. Sun setting over the city skyline. I stuffed a small scuff at the sight. Reminds me every bit of home, before Freelancer, before Sigma, before I became the Meta, before everything. I looked back to Neo again, wrapping an arm around to to keep her warm. I must admit she does look kind of cute wearing my hoodie. She looked up at me and handed her scroll.

Neo: We might be up here a while. Might as well get to know each other.

Meta: Why not, I have a feeling it will take the three stooges down there a while before we're on solid ground again.

Neo: Okay me first. What school did you go to before Freelancer?

Meta: New Portland Police Academy back home. Graduated in the middle of my class. Instructors always told me I was too brutal when it came to take downs. But my brutality was perfect Griffball and Freelancer. What about you, where did you go to school at before you ran away?

Neo: Shade Academy for a few years. Students were assholes for the most part, teachers never could understand, and the classes were way too boring. Roman taught me more about the real world in five days then Shade did in five years.

"Deal lord you two are boring. If I wanted to be this bored, I would just ask Gamma for some of his knock knock jokes to entertain him." Omega commented over my scroll's speakers.

"Hey Omega, knock knock?" Gamma asked joining him.

"Shut the fuck up Gamma. I was being rhetorical." Omega complained.

"Go to hell Omega." Gamma swore.

"Already been there, and I do not have any plans of going back to that pink idiot's head. EVER!" Omega replied. "But I do hope we get some sort of excitement soon. Watching these two clueless love birds 'talk' is beginning to lose it's charm. I'm waiting for them to kiss, I got a million jokes to tell when it happens."

"Let me know when it happens. I got a few I would like to crack off as well. I bet it won't happen till at least the third date." Gamma replied.

"Oh please, third date is usually the bedroom date. I bet they'll kiss by the end of the night. Usually wager?" Omega challanged.

"You're on." He asked.

I held my head in agony as the two boobs chatted with one another. Why am I cursed with those two morons anyway? Why did I even bring them in the first place? I could have left them with Cinder and only taken Sigma with me. She would be more then happy to keep them for a few days. I hope they fix the controls soon, I am two seconds away from blowing my own head off.

I glanced over at Neo beside me. Her cheeks matched the color of her hair . . . well the pink side anyway. Wait, are those two idiots betting on us to kiss? Why would they think that? I mean yeah Neo is cute in all, but I don't see a relationship between us happening. For starters, she gets on my nerves more often than not. Swiping my stuff from under my nose, using me as her own personal source of amusement, annoying me every chance she gets . . . just like Grace use to do. I fondly remember Grace hiding my pistol before I had to leave for work so I would stay with her longer, using every chance she could to sneak a kiss out of me, I even remember our first date. Much like the day I've been having so far. Day at the fair, stuck on top of a ferris wheel, only difference is back then I didn't have two idiots in my head.

Neo: Maine, what was your wife like?

I raised an eyebrow at Neo. She only responded by pointing to the top message of being stuck up here a while. Well, she's right. Going to be here a while. If I know that pipsqueak by now she won't rest till I give her an answer. I took the scroll and types my response.

Meta: Grace was a wonderful woman. Much like you in some ways. She was funny, caring, loved neapolitan ice cream funny enough now. Every morning before I left for the station she would hide something of mine, just so I would stay a few seconds longer. I remember one time she tied me to the bed so I go sign up for the military when I first found out about the Human-Covenant war. Took her three hours to convince me to stay on that planet. Not a day goes by that I am not reminded of her in some way. You actually remind me of her quite heavily.

Neo: Really?

Meta: Yeah, you two would have either been the best of friends or worst of enemies. You both have the same taste in clothing, same smile, even the same eye disorder. Only hers was green and blue instead of brown, white, and pink like yours. Same taste in ice cream, same love for umbrellas. She would often playfully use hers as a sword when we got in a fight. I mostly won because I used the longer one. Loser always had to cook dinner. The smoke alarm really loved me the rare days I lost.

Neo let out a light chuckle at the last part. Even their laugh is the same. This is driving me crazy. I could swear she is this universe's version of Grace. I wouldn't be surprised if she was. She blinked at me as her eyes changed color. Left one turned white, right one turned pink. I must admit it is a rather beautiful combination. Then again it could also be the AI messing with my mind again. I do admit Neo is beautiful in my mind. But do I like her enough to kiss her or not? It all depends on one small factor. I'm not sure if I want to tick off Gamma or Omega right now. If I don't kiss Neo, I make Omega lose. I do kiss Neo, I make Gamma lose. Either way I lose because I help one of the two morons. But which one do I hate more right now? I was pulled out of my thoughts when the ride jerked back into action, knocking Neo into me, with our lips colliding.

For the first time in nearly ten years, I felt . . . I don't even know what this emotion even is. Been so long. Joy I think it is? No that can't be right. Could it be love? Closest thing I got to this emotion was when I first got a hold of my beloved brute shot. Love I think it's called. No that can't be right, lord it's been so long. I can't even remember it's name. I gently cuffed the back of her head and deepened the kiss, she didn't argue or fight back as she went with it. Guess Gamma was right on one thing. Her lips do taste like ice cream.

"Ha Ha! I won the bet. Psychotic mutes ship has set sail! No one shall be safe from their ice cream themes fury!" Omega laughed triumphantly.

"They technically didn't kiss. The ride knocked them into each other." Gamma countered.

"Doesn't matter. They're still kissing now. Therefore I won. You know what to do." Omega noted. Neo and I separated as the two AI begun talking, both on the floor beside us in their AI forms. Gamma's head held low as Omega laughed his off. What was their wager?

"Ughh. I would just like to let everyone know that I suck!" Gamma yelled.

"And?" Omega asked smugly.

"And that I'm a girl!" He continued.

"What else?" Omega teased.

"That I like ribbons in my hair, and I want to kiss all the boys! Happy now?" Gamma finished completely and utterly ashamed with himself.

"One second, I got a few more jokes I'd like to crack off before it's too late." Omega replied. "Guess it was Beauty that tamed the Beast, or in this case it was a Munchkin who tamed the Demon. I do wish you two happy days, just don't take her in bed too soon, I heard the smaller ones break easier. You should go get a step stool so Neo can kiss you easier. Oh this is rich." Neo rolled her eyes as I smacked my forehead. They seriously had that as the wager?! What the hell does that accomplish?! I'll admit a few of his jokes are pretty good, no matter how irritating they may be. Neo smirked back at me as she handed over her scroll as we begun the ride down.

Neo: That was actually pretty good Meta. Maybe our truce can be extended a little more, just to mess with the blue guy.

I couldn't agree more Neo. If it means pissing off one of the two idiots in my head then I am all for it. But what to do next?

Hour later

Neo and I walked down the street, eating ice cream cones we 'bought' from the store. Meaning Neo swiped some old guy's wallet and we used his money to get them. She was munching away on a pink lemonaid scoop, I was working on a neapolitan scoop Street lights turned on as we walked casually down the empty street. Occasional cat screeched in the distance, few police sirens even farther away. I know we're in the bad side of Vale right now, if the countless 'art works', abandoned houses, and trash can fires were anything to go by.

The warehouse was around here somewhere, we told Roman we'd meet up with him there when we were done. Neo was still in my hoodie, only with some splashes of ice cream melted on it, and her umbrella opened and casually twirling it over her head. Think it's down this alley somewhere. Neo fished her cone effortlessly as she watched around us, handing me her scroll.

Neo: You sure we're in the right place?

Meta: I think so, the warehouse is around here somewhere.

"Put your hands in the air and give us your damn wallets." Someone yelled from behind us. I casually looked over my shoulder not even caring what laid behind me. . Some punk ass thugs stood behind us, with a worn 9mm glock pistol/knife combo pointed right at me. Others had lead pipes and baseball bats with barbed wire on them. Leather jackets with the sleeves cut off, yellow mohawk on the one, gang tattoos up and down their look on mine and Neo's face can best be described as 'are you fucking serious'. Do these idiots seriously have any idea who they're trying to rob? I looked back at them dead faced as I turned around slowly. "Now drop your weapons and put your hands in the air." He demanded clicking the safety off. I looked down at Neo to see what she had in mind. Her sadistic grin told me everything, she already claimed first dibs on who she wants. I growled in acknowledgment as I brought my Brute Shot out, and she her umbrella. "Now hand them over! Don't make me fucking use this!"

"Um, boss, I think we should run! The big one gives me the creeps." the one with the lead pipe suggested. Oh they're way past running. Should have left before I brought out my baby, now she demands blood. Her blade craves it, she must get it to be happy. And your blood is the only thing that can satisfy her needs.

"Why, only the one has a real weapon, and we got them outnumbered five to one." The leader replied. Numbers only mean one thing when it comes to me, how many rounds do I use. I count five, maybe six shots total if the skinny one runs like hell now. I locked eyes with Neo once more. Her eyes told me the same thing I was thinking. 'Let's make this interesting'. I handed her my Brute Shot as she gave me her umbrella, extending the blade from the tip. Their leader made the mistake of pulling the trigger, only to find the pistol click empty. He looked at us terrified as he kept pulling the trigger, each time clicked empty. I smirked as Neo and I slowly walked forward, her umbrella blade running slowly across the ground as we closed up on the would be robbers. They tried to run but Neo was quicker. My brute shot at her hip and her finger on the trigger. She fired once, knocking over a large stack of trash cans and blocking their only exit. Their only way out is through us, this is going to be fun.

"Oh my lord. These Shisnos have no idea what they're in for." Gamma noted from the back of my head. Oh you're right Gamma, for once you are right. I jerked my head forward to let Neo know she has first dibs on who she picks. She smirked as she jumped at the group of would be criminals, I followed next shortly behind her. What happened after that could best be described as a cruel, painful, and inhumane blood bath. (A/N: Do to the Fanfiction rating system, I am legally not allowed to show the next scene if I want to keep this story. It would classify under M/A for being so gore filled and violent. Since there is no M/A rating, I am just going to have settle for a time skip. Let's face it, The Meta AND Neo vs a group of would be thugs is a extremely one sided death match. We all know how it will end. Now back to the story.)

Five minutes of unspeakable horrors later.

"That was an absolute bloody slaughter! I don't envy the next poor bastard who thinks of messing with you two." Omega noted. Blood coated the entire alleyway as I wiped Neo's blade off on what remains of the thug's shirt. No head, no limbs, barely even a chest cavity left of him. Just blood, guts, and gore remain behind. Neo smirked happily as she twirled my brute shot around on her finger. She really enjoyed using it, especially the grenade launcher part. Blew one of the thugs to pieces first hit. I must say I like how she gets business done. Their leader suffered by far the worst death among the group. He was currently hanging off a fire escape by his own entrails, but not before Neo shoved his friend's bat up where the sun don't shine. Rest died rather painless deaths in comparison. Few had their heads bashed in with said bat beforehand, others either fell to my blade or Neo's uncanny aim with my pride and joy. She casually wiped away a piece of someone's brain from her shoulder.

We were covered head to toe in blood, probably from the dude's throat I slit. Going to take a lot of cleaning to get this out of the wash. I growled happily as she returned my baby, I retracted her blade and gave her umbrella back. As much as I liked using it, I prefer my brute shot. She gets the job done quick and easy. All though I doubt the unlucky souls on the other end would beg to differ. She handed her her scroll as I flicked someone's jaw piece off my arm. Wow things got real bloody. Hate to be the son of a bitch who has to clean all this up.

Neo: That was fun while it lasted. Thanks for letting me use your weapon.

Meta: Just don't get use to her. I don't have an infinite amount of ammo you can waste.

Neo: I say we get out of here before Cops show up. Our fun must have attracted at least a patrol car or two.

Well I would try to argue with her but the screams of terror, explosions, and blood curdling cries in agony earlier help her case more. I hooked my brute shot back where it belongs as we walked away from the scene of the crime . . . right to the warehouse we were suppose to go to not even ten blocks away. I know it was here somewhere. My instincts never let me down. I opened the door for the little psychopath. She mockingly bowed as we entered the warehouse. The Metal Gear Rex stood tall and proud in the center of the stage, some of the White fang mechanics were doing a once over to be sure it was in operating conditions. Few were even throwing on a new coat of paint. Roman was over looking the inspection right before he looked back at us.

"Dear Monty, what happened with you two? What is with all that blood?!" Roman asked as he looked at us is horror.

"Some bimbos thought they could rob them. The two psychopaths showed them quickly that they picked the wrong couple to rob." Omega informed popping up on my shoulder. "You would be shitting bricks if you saw the carnage they caused in five short minutes. I doubt even Cinder at her worse would even come close. Talk about horrific ways to die."

"I should have known those cries of pain and explosions were caused by you two. Well as long as the cops stay far away from here, I don't care if they assassinated the king of Atlas or the president of Mistral." He noted rubbing the bridge of his nose. "We got a show to do tomorrow, so why don't you two go take a shower or twenty, then talk to me again when you don't look like a horror movie villain. If we're going to blow up the Schnee mansion, I want us to at least be somewhat presentable for our audience."

Beacon academy

(Johnathan's POV)

"Get some sleep honey. You had a long day." I said kissing Elaia on her forehead as I tucked her into bed. We sat in the Freelancer dorm room. I was doing my fatherly duties and tucking her into bed. I checked the closet for monsters, under her bed as well, read her a story and sang her a short song. Rosa was by her feet fast asleep already, snoring loudly like the crazy raptor always does. Azula stayed in her bed and refused to move when I came back. Only way I was able to tell she was still alive or awake, was the snort in acknowledgement that I came into the room. If anything even think of hurting my baby girl in her sleep, they better pray Azula or Rosa gets to them first. I won't be anywhere near as merciful.

Rhode was with Alice as they tried figuring out the situation with Delta. Mu left to go help them, doubt she'll be back for a while but I need to talk to her about something extremely personal. Serena was in the dorm across from mine, trying to put everyone's mind at ease; Lot easier said than done. JNPR was absolutely devastated when they heard the news. Nora was uncharacteristically quiet and just shut down. Pyrrha took it the hardest. Hasn't said a word since hearing the news, she even refused to eat dinner with everyone else. Ren was the most understanding of the three. He knows we're in a tight situation right how, and how slim Jaune's odds are for survival. From a practical standpoint, I would say he is dead but I know the Skyrim Gods won't be that merciful.

Worst case, he got killed by the dragons. Best case, he won and is healing now. RWBY took it how I expected. Weiss held on to the lone circlet for hours, as if it would tell her his fate or not. Ruby shut down and took to cleaning her new arsenal of weapons, which she has no room for. Yang and Blake took it easier than the rest, stating that if he did die we wouldn't be there anymore if Blake understands the Multiverse correctly. I would like to say she is right, but with the Event line in all. Makes it tricky to give her an answer. Technically she is right, but I can't be certain. Ozpin and I already came up with a little white lie to tell everyone to keep moral under control. Jaune is officially on a extra credit assignment from the headmaster himself. What the assignment is he won't say. Probably to keep people guessing. Cole is pissed he lost another warthog, this time not my fault. He returned back to his pocket dimension to rest in relative peace, as in somewhere Pyrrha won't find him easily.

"Is June going to come back soon?" Elaia asked yawning. She can't fully pronounce his name right, but she is close. I don't think he'll be complaining about it any time soon.

"Before the Tournament. I promise." I swore tucking the stuffed Rex I won Velvet next to her. Velvet says Elaia might need it after the day she had. Little kitten calls it 'Rexy'. Fitting name if one asked me. She nodded and cuddled up to the oversized stuffy. I put on a fake smile as I got up and left the room, but not before locking eyes with Azula. She looked back at me, still full of murderous intent. I pointed to Elaia then back her. Pointed two fingers at my eyes then back to her. Silently ordering her to watch over Elaia. She gave a low growl and curled back up in her doggy bed. She'll listen, she better or it's back to her holding cell. I stepped into the hallway and gently closed the door. I took a deep breath and slowly let it out.

"What am I going to do?" I softly asked myself leaning my back against the wall and sliding down it. I got a million and one problems on my plate right now, with no real answers on how to go about them. I closed my eyes and held my head in frustration. Too many things to think about, too many angles to consider, way too many details to take into account. Just too much, and it's killing me inside.

"It's nearly past curfew, Mister Grey. Is something bothering you?" A rather familiar voice asked. Off the top of my head, I can narrow it down to two people. Washington or Ozpin, and I doubt Wash is even here. I looked up to find said headmaster right above me, casually sipping from his bottomless coffee mug.

"Too many to even begin count." I replied holding my head once more. "I'm well beyond the point of worrying for my family's well being. I'll have to leave next time Cole comes back, after we get Jaune back or whatever is left of him anyway. My family is happy here, happiest I've seen them in a long time. But I know we can't stay much longer. MERC will come for us and they won't be merciful about it either. I want them to be happy, but at the same time safe. If we stay, we'll be putting all of you as well as ourselves in danger for a little happiness. If we do leave, I don't know if I'll be able to survive another year working for those ungrateful jerks."

"Well I can assure you, they won't be getting you or your family anytime soon. I will personally see to that." Ozpin noted sitting down beside me. "Have you considered your family's opinion in the matter? This looks like this heavily needs their say."

"I haven't asked them because I know their answers already. But they don't know what MERC like I do. They don't know what they're fully capable of." I answered lifting my head. "They'll be all for staying, but I just can't live with myself if anything happened to them. Sure MERC is full of assholes, but they left my family alone provided I do as they asked."

"Sounds to me like you're the one getting the short end of that deal." He observed.

"You don't know the half of it." I whispered to myself. "I tried to quit once. Had our bags packed up and everything. Ready to go live in Australia, a little like Menagerie in your world. We were at the gates of the compound ready to leave when they jumped us. They used high powered tranquilizer darts to knock me out and binded me." I replied scuffing at the end. "When I woke up they gave me a choice. Keep working for them or they 'separate' our family for good. They threatened to lock up Serena and I for life, throw Elaia back in her home universe all alone, and send Mu to be dissected for study."

"And you believe they'll try to separate your family from a completely different universe? Where they don't exist and their laws mean nothing to us? When your family is in a school surrounded by huntresses and hunters in training, along with who knows how many Atlesian soldiers waiting for the order to shoot at something. Do you believe they'd get anywhere close to your family?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"Not in the way you're thinking." I replied. "You see, when MERC dubs someone as a deserter. They don't just kill them, they'll go after my friends, family, everyone I ever loved here. I know you can take care of yourselves but I don't want anyone else to die because of me. I'm worried I'll screw up and make a mistake that will cost lives."

"Mister Grey I've made more mistakes then any man, woman, or child on this planet. Maybe even this universe. Way more then I can even begin to count, mistakes that costed more lives than I can remember. If what you're telling me is true, then staying here would be the more preferable option in the long run. If MERC is even half as bad as I think they are, and I were in your shoes. That is what I'd pick." He replied setting his coffee cup down. "The decision is entirely yours, but do take into consideration what your absence from our world would do for us? You've made quite the impact on my school, this whole world to an extent. It would be a shame to let it all go to waste. You would make fine huntsman should you chose that path." He stated sipping once again from his mug.

"I understand what your saying, but I'm just beyond worried. I know NOTHING about what Emily or the Meta are planning next, I don't know if they're planning an assault on Beacon or if they'll try something worse just to get me." I answered letting out a frustrated sigh. "Thanks for the talk, but this is something I need to figure out on my own."

"Alright Mister Grey, I understand what your saying." Ozpin noted as he got back up, using his cane to help. "I would suggest you get their opinion in the matter. It might save your hide later down the line. But if you leave, try making it as painless for everyone here as possible. Especially with Miss Scarlatina. Doubt you'll want to face Coco's wrath or worse, her father's."

With that, he began walking down the hall. Cane tapping against the cold floor echoed down with each step. I held my head again as the soft tap of his cane died out. I know he's right, I know it's better to stay here then to go back. But I just can't can't bare the thought of my family being in danger because of me. If we stay, MERC will come for us. And they won't send some run of the mill hit men after us. They'll send people specially trained to KILL people a whole lot stronger then me. I'm talking Super sayain destroyers, people who can SLAUGHTER deathclaws like they're nothing, dare I say that they can kill a Spartan or a Sith lord with ease. People I wouldn't want to go up against.

But why haven't they sent someone after Emily? She's a bigger threat and knows way more than I do, so why don't they go after her? It doesn't make any sense. Then again, MERC did always favor her more. Letting her get away with crap I'd get hanged for. Could they be allowing her to get away with deserting them just to kill me? Wouldn't be surprised if they did. I'll get Serena and Mu's opinion on the matter in the morning. I picked myself up from the floor and begun walking the other direction. I'll go to sleep in a bit, but first I need to go to the gym for some training. Ain't the first late night training session I've done, sure as hell won't be the last. I need to remain vigilant, I can't afford to get any softer than I already have. Not when I got so much at stake. I hope one of the AI can help me with this.

And we're done with another chapter people. Little over a week after the last one. Man is my Beta going to be busy. Out of the creative rut, going full blast on this story. Watching the new seasons has given me some ideas. Here is one for later down the line if I feel like it. Imagine a rag tag UNSC battle group being sucked into the RWBY universe over Menagerie, along with a few Covenant ships. I got the entire battle planed out in my head. Millions of tiny references to other universes, not to mention a way to bring Summer Rose back from the dead. You heard right, I am thinking of bringing Summer into the story. Not 100% sure on if I should, but I figured I'd swing it by my readers first. Let me know if you want me to go through with the idea or if it's a bad one. Or to make a completely separate story just for that one idea alone.

So far no reviews to answer for the last chapter, but this story did get a lot more follows and favorites, so I can't really complain. I'll end this here and give this to my Beta, hopefully he'll be happy that. Enjoy editing this as well, going to keep going till I either hit a wall or run out of things to write about. Either way I am on the creative train to crazytown, only one stop and I don't plan on getting off there. Enjoy.
