Jourdaine73: Thanks for enjoying it, Hope to keep it up for you.
Guest: Thank you as well, I thought as much.
keht. jelicho: That's an interesting thought. We'll have to see if that happens. My original plan was to limit the tarot to those closely involved with Harry but I might change it up. Either way I am happy you've seen the pattern with it.
Harry stared at the newcomer with a turned head as he wondered who she was.
"Now, now, I don't believe that is necessary Andromeda, my girl." Dumbledore began to walk over. "Either way under magical law I am his magical guardian and thus he is my responsibility till he becomes of age."
Andromeda lifted her bag up and popped it open before reaching in and pulling out a folder. "Yes I understand you designated yourself as his magical guardian after the passing of his parents. And expedited the process as Chief Warlock?"
"Yes indeed I did." Albus continued sounding quite happy at his decision. "It seems to me it's been all in Harry's best interests."
"At the time yes but as you have mandated that he compete in the Triwizard Tournament as a competitor then he is recognized as an emancipated minor." Andromeda flipped the file's pages as the bag levitated beside her. "Ah here it is on page ten section four subsection c paragraph ninety two. "All competitors who are entered into the tournament must be recognized as being of age by their governments and the ICW.'' ." She pulled out the paper to show it to the judges. "Thus the Goblin Nation wishes to give Mr…er excuse me Lord Potter the best counseling it could provide in this horrendous circumstance that has occurred towards him." Andromeda smirked at the elderly man before turning to Rita. "If you wish to speak with my client it will be with me present, thank you very much."
Harry stared in awe at this woman who came in and if he was misinformed, quite the aggressive approach. It made him like her instantly.
"I'm a Lord?"
"Were you not….." Andromeda turned her gaze to Albus for a moment who looked away from her glare instantly. "Come with me Lord Potter, there is much to discuss." Harry shrugged and followed the brown haired one. As they walked he slowly began to hum before finding himself in a seat across from her. She smiled down at him. "You probably don't remember me do you?" Harry shook his head for a moment before stopping. He felt the hair on the back of his neck crawl up as his voice was found.
"Andi…Aunt Andi. You knew mum and pop." Harry snapped his fingers and smiled as she returned the grin.
"Exactly Harry. It's why I took your case so quickly when they asked me about it. We were quite close when I had to babysit you. So were you with Nymphadora." Harry could only laugh at that name because it made him feel like he just got tickled. "I'm here to inform you that someone has wronged you, your entire life and I will gladly help you but I need you to sign these guardian forms."
"But you said I'm of age."
"Yes however, by muggle law which transitions to the magical law, you must be housed until you actually reach your majority by the muggle's law, ergo you need to be placed with a guardian. By doing this you save yourself any liab-"
Harry's hand glided across the paper before he even realized it, signing his name to the document. "It's alright. You've already been more open to me then most." He shrugged. "Kinda weird how that happened though ain't it?" He laughed softly before he looked up and saw Andi eyeing him. There was something about Harry that instantly got to her. She wasn't sure why she had actually accepted it so fast. She normally would have taken time to examine the case in depth before agreeing to take it but the moment the paper had landed on her desk in front of her Andromeda had.
"Well Lord-" Harry gave out a loud groan.
"Please just call me Harry…. I rather not hear the word lord." Instantly being reminded of his old friend Dobby
"Fine Harry, one of the coming days I'd like you to come with me to Gringotts so we can have your parents' wills read if available." Harry nodded to the request. "Alright I'll make sure Minerva er…. Professor McGonagall gets the date and time for us to go do that. With that Lord Potter I believe we are good for now. If you ever need anything please owl me."
Admittingly that conversation had made Harry feel quite calm afterward. It felt good to know that. He reached up and ran his hand through his hair as it extended to his shoulders sighing as he looked up attempting to refocus in Defense class. He couldn't help but stifle a snicker as his graying eyes saw an unicorn walking around Moody. It met Harry's eyes briefly before looking back towards Moody and huffing out a breath.
Harry looked around and saw that everyone else wasn't reacting at this and chuckled softly to himself. Moody though seemed to grow a bit anxious as he reached down and began to scratch his hand anxiously.
" That'll be all for today. Homework is figuring out the best ways to improve defense against the imperious curse. Class dismissed!" Moody grunted as he took his staff and almost in a run escaped to his office. Harry simply shrugged this off as he stood glancing back and smiling at Hermione who shook her head slightly at the weirdness.
"We are gonna continue working on the Accio charm correct?" She asked him as he nodded smiling as his green eyes radiated happiness with her. "Come on then Harry. "
Meanwhile in that office Bartimus Crouch Junior grunted as he looked down at the hand. It was bubbling aggressively as he scratched at it. Perhaps that batch of polyjuice was defective? No if there had been anything Wormtail was decent at it was potions compared to true spell craft. He was no Snape but he was a close second. He glanced down at the flask and contemplated taking a second dosage so soon. It had not even been a full hour and yet the transformation had begun to revert. Grunting in decision he opened the flask and took a second dosage of it gulping down the nasty mud like sludge that tasted of old socks and the moldy cells of Azkaban.
He gasped out after the swallow, looking down upon his hand. The bubbling had ceased and returned to the normal state it had been beforehand. Barry would have to send a missive to Wormtail to make sure that the dosage was correct and that nothing had been wrong about the potion in its creation. He grunted though and grabbed the staff before heading back out. Merlin and Morganna did he dispise teaching these children.
"Peeves!" The Bloody Baron shouted as he once again cornered the annoying damned poltergeist. "Why have you been acting so strange?!" Unlike usual Peeves had been seemingly acting odder often stopping his prank halfway through, looking around scared, and then running away. "Explain yourself."
Peeves glanced back at the Bloody Baron. "Ooooooh The Baron of Slytherin can not sense it! Poor poor Bloody-" He froze before beginning to walk away.
"Peeves?! Peeves, where are you going!?" The Bloody Baron howled at the damned soul.
"When madness runs through the school I dare not wait to feel it mess with me again!" Peeves kept going.
"Mess with you again? What do you mean?!"
"I shan't be near where he is."
"Where who is?!" Baron huffed in annoyance as the poltergeist refused to answer and continued on his own way. It was then that the Baron noticed someone beside him. "Ah greetings Young Master Potter."
"Hello Baron, lovely evening?"
"You may say that. I do wish you luck in the Tournament. Such a bloody sport but for Hogwarts new renowned accomplishments shall be heavenly."
Harry gave a playful bow in admiration. "I aim to please. Though I must say I do not believe being covered in blood as you are is quite courteous"
"Alas as I was in life I am in death." The Bloody Baron glanced down at the blood that soaked his outfit. Helena's own unfortunately a constant reminder of his damnation.
"Muggles have such a wonderful phrase, Baron." Harry hummed to himself as his wand glided to his hand and he glanced at the ghost with gray eyes. "Never say never." He continued walking down the hall his hands rising and flowing through as of orchestrating a tune in his head.
The Baron sighed and shook his head as he watched the child continue his travels. He wondered for a moment if perhaps that was whom Peeves had referred to. Even the Baron had to admit he had noticed a subtle shift in the flow of magic in Hogwarts. He began to turn to phase through the roof when he froze and looked in the reflection of the armor, his eyes wide and his body free of blood.
"Hi Peeves!" A cheerful voice sounded before a shriek was heard and the poltergeist ran back down, pass the Baron.
In the Headmaster's office however an elderly Dumbledore sighed as he rolled his wand between his fingers. Yes he had felt the change in his school. As if magic itself had shifted slightly. He paid no mind to it at this moment; it was probably nothing. After all the wards remained, his instruments, besides the ones for Harry's of age and residency, still pumped along strongly. He sat down the wand softly as he picked up the quill to note down in his journal.
He had not realized that by allowing Harry to compete did it bring across these complications to his plans. After all, how was he supposed to realize that the contract would be used against him so swiftly? Perhaps after a month he would have found and quickly edited the rules silently or passed an amendment in the Wizengamot. Oh well, he thought, perhaps it was still fine. After all Harry was still under his school and still saw him as his lovable grandfather he never had. He'd just have to make sure Harry continued to rely on him.
That was when the headaches returned and his writing began to become slower. Grunting Albus picked his wand back up and stored it in its holster close to himself. As his fingers met in front of his nose. They had grown worse and worse. But he needed to push through them. After all he was Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. The grandest wizard of all time. He must continue to push things for the betterment especially with Tom to return soon. He knew where Harry's path would lead and although momentarily saddened he would accept it as necessary. After all, It was in the end for the Greater Good. Slowly the headaches began to subside allowing himself to regain his thoughts letting loose a soft sigh. The numbing cold from the wand now firmly against himself steeling his mind
Perhaps it was time to take a walk on the grounds again, he thought as he glanced out his window towards the fields of Hogwarts. He did need to inspect their four guests in the Forbidden Forest. After all Charlie Weasley was so kind to be of assistance in procuring the creatures for the traditional first round from his own reservation in Romania.
