Air harpies.
Water serpents.
Earth griffins.
Fire dragons.
In a centuries long struggle for elemental balance, the four nations engaged in generational trials to tame the most powerful known entity living among the spirits: the Avatar. Wars were fought exploiting this limited supply of power. Empires rose and fell. The world as the mortals knew it bended to the will of the shapeless Avatar and its unpredictable cycle through the elements.
For the last 150 years, the four nations lived together in harmonic defiance against the Avatar, swiftly executing its physical bodies upon discovery, and suppressing its pulse from the Earth. There was no longer a need for a bridge between Earth and the Spirit World when the Avatar was too unstable be trusted with such a responsibility. The Avatar is an extreme force of good and evil that has raged in chaos all across the ages.
Then, everything changed when the Sniping Harpies attacked. These incredible, rogue women of the skies honed their airbending skills through firearms, a decades old gift from the Fire Nation military. The Water Tribes were decimated by their attacks. Air and water pollution, sky raids, and disruptions to their peaceful trades wiped the Water Tribes nearly to extinction, while the remaining few were enslaved and sold away in hidden black markets.
However, the turning point of the war occurred when the Fire Nation allied with the Earth Kingdom against their common enemy. The noble family of the Air Nation were assassinated in demonstration of this new and powerful alliance. But one noble airbender, was the sole survivor of the attack. She was an airbending master before tragedy struck.
And now, the search for a new Avatar, one who would remaster the four elements, bring balance back to the world, and end this war, was on once again. This is their story.
