A Japanese Weresheep in Mutsuba Town

Summary:

There are some forms of alien activity even MIK turns a blind eye to. The truly alien activity between Chupataro and Ohdo Yuhi, for instance.

Chapter 90: Crystal God Tistina

The signs of it were everywhere. The crystal rot. It grew at an exponential rate.

They were on the road out of town, six of them squeezed into the back, with London, Bochi, and Tazaki in the front.

But Kuaidul's space-time had borders. Even if they made it to the outskirts, they'd eventually have to turn around. Still…It helped that most of Mutsuba Town was in a fugue state, as the people were too caught up in the false reality to exacerbate traffic.

Or were those people slaves – not to Kuaidul – but to the crystal now?

"This place is the pits! Nothing like Ikite-chan's Christmas party! Do you think you can give her some gas, Tazaki-chan?"

"I'm giving it all I can give, young'un!"

"She, Tazaki-chan. You call a car a she."

"Manya-nya! First zombies, and now this? Kirishima, you're my manager! Why aren't you managing this?"

"She's Kirishima-chan's party van, isn't she?"

"Why would you buy a van when you can't drive it yourself?"

"She was a steal!"

"So you can pilot a spaceship without any know-how, but not a –?"

SQUEEEEEEEE! The van e-brake drifted.

Everyone in the back bounced around, yelling. The disco ball hooked to the ceiling struck Manya across the face.

Damamu was the oddity having a good time.

Damamu never had to grapple with gravity though.

"Tazaki-san, what –?" Yuhi nursed the lump on his head.

There was someone in the road.

"Glatt Ishida?" Yudias leaned forward.

Ishida held out his arm covered in crystal, and the crystal growing in the road merged into a serrated tarsus.

"Chupa!"

"Everybody out! NOW!" Yuamu ordered.

They ditched their ride. The crystal knifed through the windshield and rear window, hurling the van off the path.

"My baby!" London shrieked.

The crystal converged on them.

"Forget it!" Damamu forbade, and the extreme child's energy repelled the rot.

"It's allergic to Earthdamar! Everyone stay close to Damamu!"

"Yay! Hugs!"

Only Yudias remained outside the circle of protection. "Ishida! What happened to your arm?"

"This beautiful rock? A meteor from the sky! 'This is Kuaidul's space-time! Everybody is asleep, and you gotta wake 'em up!' it said!"

"A talking meteor, Rock Specialist-kun?"

"Back there, the monster Kago Tamako summoned. My warrior senses told me Zuwijo knew what it was!"

"An extension of the Crystal God Tistina! One radiance, scintillating since the Big Bang! The Keystone!"

"Tistina?"

"In the Velgear Cluster, there are chronicles of a crystalline entity. An intelligence that spread destruction throughout the stars, subjugating all life it touched. Was that Tistina?"

"You're up to date on your mineralogy, Yudias! The greatest minds in the old universe got together and banished the Crystal God to the Oort Cloud, but Tistina's crawled up from under its rock, and will unbind us from Kuaidul!"

"Would that not be trading one tyrant for another?" Yudias asked earnestly.

"Kuaidul's space-time has no balance! A perfectly balanced universe only exists if we hand the wheel over to the all-encompassing Tistina!"

"Another alien who considers itself God…Is it just me, or are they on the rise?" Yuamu had it up to here with control freaks.

"It's put more rocks in that head full of rocks, basically? In that case, let's have a Rush Duel! I'll set him right!"

"Yuhi?"

"Absolutely not!"

"T-Tazaki-san?"

"As your parental guardian, I cannot sign off on either of you embarking on such an assignment! If you're going to duel anyone, young'un, duel me!"

"Fine by me! Can you withstand it, old man? A Duel with God?"

"I am the wall between you and the President and Yuhi-bocchan: Tazaki Galixon!"

"Even if a wall is made of stone, it will crumble someday. Duel Disk, on!" The crystal on Ishida's arm sculpted itself into a Duel Disk. "Glatt Ishida!"

Unlike Ishida's stone Duel Disk, he could actually lift this one.

"GO RUSH!"

"My turn! Balance draw, ishi dabba doo!" Ishida turned the turn order on its head. "I balance-summon Stone Car Exhaustone, Stone Train Degoishi, and Stone Airplane Gravelindbergh!"

"I activate the Magic Card, Ballast Balance Shot! That's 400 damage!"

"Ghnuu?" (Tazaki LP 4000 ↓ 3600)

"Then, if I have Level 1, 2, 3 Normal Monsters balanced on my field, I can deal you 1000 damage!"

"Err!" (Tazaki LP 3600 ↓ 2600)

"Tazaki-san's Life Points have –!"

"He took them for granite! I set a card! Turn end!"

Tazaki dug himself out of the rocks. "Tazaki's turn! Draw! I summon Police Scoop and Digger Skipper, and release them! The thought that pierces through is like a drill! The heart of a burning man howls! Now launch! Advance Summon! Drilling Tractiger!" (Level 7 EARTH Machine/Effect ATK 2500 DEF 1000)

"Putt-putt-putt! Is that your Ace?"

"Respect your elders, young'un! Magic Card, Tunnelnado Plow! This turn, your battle damage is 0, but Drilling Tractiger can attack all monsters on your field, and whenever Tractiger destroys a monster by battle, I harvest 500 Life Points!"

"No balance!"

"Drilling Tractiger attacks Stone Car Exhaustone! Aimed Piercing Strike!"

"No!" (Tazaki LP 2600 ↑ 3100)

"Attack!"

"Ishi dabba don't!" (Tazaki LP 3100 ↑ 3600)

"Attack, attack!"

"Ishi don't don't doo!" (Tazaki LP 3600 ↑ 4100)

"I set a card! Turn end!"

"My…My turn. B-balance draw…"

Thy vaunted eternity is but hollow slumber.

Crystal spiderwebbed from Ishida's arm to the rest of his body. The cards in his hand shone amethyst.

"His cards, they –!"

"They changed like Goalko-chan's!"

"I activate the Field Magic Card, Divine Domain Baatistina!"

The Duel moved to a cavern overgrown with crystal…

"I summon Hound of the Tistina and two Sentinels of the Tistina!" Ishida summoned a crystallized dog and crystallized birds. "I activate Sentinel of the Tistina's effect, destroying Sentinel, and adding a card from my Deck to my hand! Then I release Hound and Sentinel to Advance Summon!"

…amalgamating around an ominous core.

"At the center of it all lies something that has become known as the Crystal God Tistina, and all who gaze upon its form marvel at its beauty and experience true fear."

"This is –!"

"CRYSTAL GOD TISTINA?" (Level 10 LIGHT Aqua/Effect ATK 2000 DEF 3000)
