After splitting up from the group, Luz and Amity were walking together hand-in-hand just doing some very basic Luz and Amity stuff. Gushing, complimenting each other and exchanging random kisses with one another.
"So, Hermosa, we got the next…" Luz looked at her electric watch. "…four hours. What do you wanna do?"
"What is there to do?" Amity asked.
"Let me show you the fruits of Pride Day in Gravesfield!" Luz exclaimed.
"Have you ever been before?" Amity asked.
"Nope. I'm just as lost as you are."
Amity narrowed her eyes at her girlfriend. "So, you invited us to an event that you never been to knowing that there's a high chance that we will get lost?"
Luz shrugged her shoulders. "Amity, I've lived my life in Gravesfield. We are gonna be okay."
"I know." Amity replied. "Because you are here."
Luz blushed at her girlfriend before kissing her on the cheek. "Come on. Let's go and have some fun." "And thankfully, I have a detailed map in my head on where we should go while we await for the parade."
"Will it be in a montage?" Amity asked.
Luz thought about it for a moment. "Eh….No. I wanna live in the moments instead of spending a limited time. Now, let's go to our first location!"
And that first location happened to be the arcade which kind of baffled Amity because it had nothing to do with Pride Month as far as she was aware of.
"Uh…Why are we at the arcade?" Amity asked. "As far as I'm aware of, it doesn't have anything to do with Pride Month."
Luz arrived back with a cupful of quarters and cents for her and her girlfriend to spend. "Oh, usually around this time the arcade is less crowded. Because a lot of people wanna spend time celebrating their pride."
"It's kind of bad for business." Said a staff member. "From an economic standpoint I hate it but from a personal standpoint I appreciate it."
Amity smiled. "Whatever gets me to spend more time with you, beautiful." She nuzzled her girlfriend.
And so, the girlfriends tried Super Jumping Plumber Brothers which Amity was getting frustrated at while moving the joy stick and aggressively tapping the button. Luz tried to help her girlfriend.
"Come on Amity, hit the block." Luz said.
"I am hitting the block!" Amity exclaimed.
In the game, the plumber was hitting the block by jumping and hitting the head on a block that was marked with an exclamation mark. "Stupid game just won't give me the power up!"
"There, it goes, look!" Luz pointed to the pixelated screen to a mushroom.
"I see the mushroom!" Amity yelled before moving the character toward the mushroom.
When it ate the mushroom, the video game character inflated like a balloon. "Yes! Go Amity!"
But due to her intense conviction to the game, Amity accidentally pushed the button so hard that it jammed and she tore the joystick off.
Amity panicked and instantly used her Abomination magic to stick the pieces back on the machine.
Luz pressed her hand against Amity shoulder. "Maybe something less stressful."
But turns out, the next thing they chose to do was more stressful. It was a claw machine and Amity was determined to get a stuffed Azura doll for her Luz. But like with all claw machines, the claw was janky and the prize was too big for the claw to stay latched on to it.
"It's okay Amity. A few more tries won't hurt." Luz assured her.
"Luz, I have tried this twenty times already!" Amity argued as she tried again. But once again, the claw dropped the stuffed toy.
Amity in her anger, summoned an Abomination tentacle without any of the staff or few other patrons looking and pulled out the stuffed Azura that she handed to Luz.
Luz smiled with glee but then saw the frustrated look on Amity's face. "Amity?"
Amity calmed down. "I'm sorry, Luz. I know I'm not supposed to get angry…"
"Hey, my Dad once punched one of these when he couldn't win my Mom a pink elephant." Luz chuckled. "And the funny thing is, it was on their first date. And they spent the rest of their da in a hospital because he managed to get glass on his wrist."
The story of Camila's first date with her former husband caused Amity to laugh a bit. "That sounds terrible."
"It was somehow a success." Luz said. "Because…Well…" She emphasised this by presenting herself.
Amity smiled. "I'm glad they did."
"Besides, I know something that is competitive but a load of fun." Luz said.
And then, the two girlfriends were playing a game called Dance-A-Beat Revelations, a game where they have to tap on four pads with their feet that would flash up on the screen. These directions were left, right, forward and back.
"If one of us wins, loser buys the winner whatever they want!" Luz declared.
Amity playfully narrowed her eyes at Luz. "You're on, Noceda."
"Ready, Amity?" Luz asked.
"Sure." Amity replied before Luz inserted the quarter into the machine.
Once the quarter was inserted, the machine began a countdown from three to one and soon, Believe by Cher began to play.
Luz and Amity began their dance match together. Luz was intently focused on stepping on every light below her feet all while moving her muscles to the beat of the song. Amity, did the same thing but with a little more grace compared to her girlfriend.
As the song went on, Luz was beginning to sweat as she missed a few of the pads. While Amity was somehow not missing any without breaking any kind of sweat.
That was when all of a sudden, Luz, after missing around five more steps, she accidentally fell off the platform.
Once the song was done, Amity towered over her girlfriend with a smug smile plastered on her face. "Beat that, Noceda."
Luz grinned at her girlfriend. "Well Blight, looks like you got the moves." Luz raised a brow.
"Perhaps, I could show you some more if you're up for it…." Luz's cheeks turned red at the implication. "…At Grom this year."
Luz exhaled. "Alright. I am defeated." As she spoke, Gus was walking behind her looking like he was deep in thought about something. Then, Luz squinted her eyes like she noticed something. "Oh, Amity, you have something on your back."
"Huh?" Amity tried looking over her shoulder to see what was on her back. "What's on my back?" Behind Luz, Gus looked panicked as if he noticed that the both of them were there.
Luz motioned her girlfriend to hold still to analyse what was on her back. "Looks like mustard." Luz licked her finger and tried cleaning it off, but unfortunately it couldn't come off. "Yup, that's stained."
Amity groaned. "Uh! It was the snack bar! Those two guys! I didn't get a good look at them but someone was dipping nachos in mustard. Which doesn't belong in nachos. Whipped cream is the perfect dip for nachos."
"It's hardly noticeable." Luz blew a raspberry. "Don't worry about it."
"Sorry Luz, but now I know that's there, I can't ignore it." Amity said before smiling. "But, since I win and you get to buy me anything I want…"
Luz's eyes lit up. "I know the perfect place that isn't too overpriced!" Luz took Amity by the hand and dragged her out of the arcade.
And so, they arrived at a clothing store called Robles.' A small clothing store that sold a lot of fancy clothes while not being too overpriced.
Amity got a look at some of the clothes that were hanging on the clotheslines with a perplexed and fascinated look. She took one and it happened to be an ocean blue long sleeved robe.
"Looks familiar, but no." Amity said before putting it back on.
Then she took a t-shirt that had a picture of an S on it and then put it back on the clothesline. Then, she somehow found a bikini on the rack that she put back with a puzzled expression.
"Yeah, humans are too lazy to put stuff in the right places sometimes." Luz said.
"That bugs me!" Amity exclaimed. "This section is for shirts. I mean, look…" She removed a pair of socks from the line. "…Socks! They don't belong on a line with t shirts."
"If you're confused Amity, I could pick some outfits I think might suit you and see if you like them." Luz suggested.
Amity thought about it and then grinned. "Okay. Let's."
And so, Amity began to try on certain outfits that were given out to her by Luz. The first one was a unicorn t-shirt that made Amity grimace.
"Luz, everyone in the Boiling Isles knows that unicorns are the biggest jerks in existence." Amity said.
"I didn't!" Luz protested.
Then Amity's next outfit was a black shirt, a black blouse, heels and a pair of black pants. "Luz, I'm going to a parade not a business meeting."
"I wanted to see how hot you looked." Luz admitted.
Then, another was a skirt that Amity seemed shaped to be wearing. Even Luz looked to be disgusted by it.
The next one was a flannel knot shirt and a pair of blue shorts. "I don't know about this one, Luz. This one seems a bit revealing. Like, something Eda would wear."
"I don't recall Eda wearing anything like that." Luz remarked before Eda showed up from behind another dressing curtain, dressed in a similar outfit to Amity.
"That's because I didn't have a good excuse to make Raine swoon." Eda retorted before marching out of the dressing area to find her partner.
Luz herself looked wowed by Eda. "Wow, she is wearing the heck out of that."
"For an old lady, she's pulling it off." Amity remarked.
"She's like in her forties, sweet potato." Luz reminded her.
"Like I said, old."
The next few outfits weren't all that up to Amity's style. One was a brown shirt with a vest, a pair of shorts and a distinct blue pine tree cap. The next one was a purple sweater with a cat on the stomach and a purple skirt.
Then, another was of a green flannel shirt with a pair of blue jeans and a ushanka. The next was a teal short dress, a pair of socks that went up her legs and a headband of devil horns.
The next was a red hoodie and a pair of jeans. Then there was a St James school uniform and a purple skirt and a pair of yellow shoes.
"Why does a store sell a school uniform?" Amity asked.
"I think that school is in LA." Luz explained. "An online friend of mine told me about it. Anyway, I think you'll like the next one."
The next one was just right for Amity. It was a tank top with the colours of the lesbian flag with a pair of ripped jeans.
Amity looked at her outfit in the mirror and smiled. "I like this, Luz. I really like this."
"Perfect!" Luz smiled as she removed a wad of cash from her wallet. "You sure you don't wanna keep some of the other ones?"
"No." Amity stated bluntly.
"Yeah, my sense of style isn't good for other people." Luz then looked at the business woman getup Amity previously had on. "Huh, I wonder if King would look adorable in this?"
Later, Luz and Amity were at a food stand buying themselves cakes shaped like their respective flags.
Amity stared at the little snack with a fascinated look. She then took a bite from her cake. After taking her time analysing the taste, she smiled with glee.
"These are tasty." Amity remarked.
"I know." Luz gave Amity a toothy grin to reveal that she had a bunch of rainbow colours on her white teeth.
Amity seeing this began laughing at her girlfriend's misfortune. That was when, Luz suddenly began to laugh at Amity's expense of having rainbow colours in her teeth as well.
They soon realised they both had rainbow coloured teeth and looked to the cake they had consumed to see some sort of rainbow cream in the pastry.
They then took a glance at each other before sharing a laugh with each other.
While they laughed, Hunter was looking at a mirror in annoyance. "I just brushed my teeth this morning!"
Later, Luz and Amity were walking together hand-in-hand when all of a sudden, they saw Vee running past them, looking panicked.
"Is Vee, okay?" Amity asked with concern.
Luz looked concerned. "I don't know." Then all of a sudden, Luz heard some music blasting from around the corner. "Wait a minute…You hear that?"
Luz dragged Amity from around a corner to see a bunch of people dancing. A group of people with either rainbow coloured shirts, tattoos of flags on their arms and a pink haired teen holding the boombox.
Luz and Amity took a glance at the dancing people and gave each other some smirks. "Dance?" They then smiled with glee. "Dance!"
And so, Luz and Amity joined in on the dance which was to the song I'm Still Standing by Elton John. They danced hand-in-hand and gave each other little twirls.
Then, at some point, Luz and Amity were sitting on a nearby bench drinking some soda together and laughing.
"So, me in the front seat of my Dad's ambulance, I couldn't help but push the button that activated the siren." Luz and Amity laughed. "So you could imagine how annoyed my Dad got about that." Luz and Amity laughed.
"I hope that didn't cause any accidents." Amity laughed.
"Oh no, it caused traffic and congestion due to the volume." Luz admitted. "And that's why the hospital never had a take your child to work day again."
Luz and Amity laughed even harder together. "Ahhh." Amity shuffled up to her girlfriend just to wrap her arm around her shoulder.
Amity looked to her girlfriend whom was staring off into space. Amity couldn't believe it. She knew that most first time relationships rarely worked out but considering the fact that she had been with Luz for nearly a year was insane for her to believe.
Though Luz doubted it, Amity always believed that she was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. Someone so full of life and always selfless even in the face of adversity. Plus, she was gorgeous on the outside as well.
"It's been a year." Luz said.
"Huh?"
"Well, almost a year." Luz said to her girlfriend. "Almost a year since we first got together. I can't believe how time flies."
"If I know of legends, time doesn't fly." Amity stated. "Time runs on what you humans might consider a hamster wheel."
Luz chuckled. "I don't know if that's a joke or not."
"You know Luz, it's got me thinking about everything about our relationship." Amity explained as she sat up. "All the downs and ups. Remember how we met?"
Luz grabbed Amity by the straps of her top and began shaking her aggressively. "WHAT ARE YOU?! I WANT ANSWERS!"
Amity couldn't help it as she burst into a fit of hysterics as Luz recreated their first meeting. "Luuuuz!"
"That was the day you literally jumped into my life." Luz said as she let go of the straps. "When I Was Teenage Abomination. And let's not forget you almost dissected me."
"Had!" Amity retorted. "I almost had you dissected."
"Tomato, tomato." Luz retorted. "And we would become rivals. By the way, would you have pummelled me during Convention?"
"Oh, I wouldn't have pummelled you." Amity assured her. "I might have been planning to break every bone in your body."
Luz chuckled nervously. "Well, glad that didn't happen. Least we became better after we were Lost In Language during the library incident."
Amity groaned. "Titan, don't remind me."
"By the way, still sorry about stealing your training wand." Luz said.
"Hey, least you saved my crooked ears that day." Amity smiled. "Believe it or not, in those Adventures In The Elements, that's when I started to develop feelings for you."
Luz began to sit deep in thought about the timeline of her and Amity's relationship. There was the First Day, then that time they were Understanding Willow and then that Enchanting Grom Fright.
"Oh my Titan!"
"What?" Amity asked.
Luz stood up from the bench as she understood something. "Oh my Titan! I was the one you wanted to ask out to Grom!"
Amity was in disbelief over what Luz had just realised. "YOU JUST FIGURED THAT OUT?!" She then noticed the pink haired teen whom was holding the boombox earlier, watching on with a deadpan stare. "What are you looking at?!" The teen just walked away without a care in the world.
"I…Guess I did!"
"Who did you think I wanted to ask out to Grom?" Amity asked.
"Uh….Boscha? Willow?" Luz asked. "Skara?"
Amity exhaled. "It was you…I was….Well, afraid you might have said no. Would you have said no?"
Luz began to think deep about the question that was asked by her girlfriend. "Well…I…I'll be honest Amity, I don't know if I would have said no or yes, but, you technically got me going with you as your date."
"Even though we were friends." Amity stated glumly.
"Hey, still our first date if you look at it from a certain point of view." Luz took Amity's hands in her own before kissing them. "Do you wanna know when I realised I had feelings for you?"
"Was it during Grudgeby?" Amity asked.
"Bend It Like Witches do." Someone shouted from afar.
"Who was that?" Amity asked.
Luz smiled. "Okay, regarding your question. You remember when I was Escaping Expulsion? Well, it was after you saved my life from your Dad's Abomatron. Where you yelled 'Stay away from my Luz!' And from there, I was smitten for mittens."
Amity turned red in the cheeks as she sat back down in frustration. "Ooooooohhhhh!
"Yeah, thanks for helping me, Willow and Gus prevent permanent expulsion. I'm not gonna lie, Sweet Potato, I kind of missed it when you had that mint chocolate ice cream coloured hair." Luz sat back down with her.
"You do?" Amity asked as she played with her cotton candy hair. "Well…I don't think mint chocolate ice cream haired goddess would have had a nice ring to it like cotton candy haired goddess."
"No, it wouldn't have had." Luz agreed. "But then, while Gus was Through The Looking Glass Ruins, you gave me a little something for being amazing."
Amity kissed Luz on her cheek, causing the human to blush. "This?"
Luz grinned. "Yeah." She groaned. "Why did I think you wouldn't have had feelings for me after that?! You kissed me on the cheek! I wish I could slap my young self for that dumb thought process."
"Hey, if it that time we didn't Knock, Knock, Knockin' On Hooty's Door, we wouldn't have gotten together." Amity reminded her girlfriend.
"And I'm grateful." She held Amity's hand and pressed her head against her's. "But I wish I could have helped you while you went to Eclipse Lake. Plus, it was kind of a bad time I got the Common Mold because I was about to tell you how we communicate with our little Tomagochis."
Amity laughed. "I remember how you thought my hair was cotton candy."
Luz groaned. "I did?! Ooooohhhhhhh!"
Amity smiled. "I wouldn't have been fine if it was someone else's drool on my strands."
Luz looked shocked by her girlfriend's statement. "Ooookay."
Amity realised what she said and moved her head off of her. "Though, there were rough spots. Remember when you, Eda and King were a bunch of Follies At The Coven Day Parade?"
Luz sighed. "I should have told you. But I was afraid you were gonna accuse me of leaving you which I didn't want to. I just had you as my girlfriend and I didn't want it to end already."
"I get why you were scared." Amity assured her. "Hey, remember that time when we went hunting for Mildred Featherwhyle when we thought she was human?"
"Oh yeah." Luz said. "Speaking of, did you hear she's releasing a new Azura book?"
Amity started to get giddy by that news. "A new book?! What's it called?! When's it out?!"
"Well, it's going to be called Good Witch Azura: Any Sport In The Storm." Luz replied. "I can't wait for it!"
Amity then gave her girlfriend a sympathetic look. "But I am glad you told me about what happened to your Dad. I know it must have been difficult for you."
"I just didn't want you to worry about me." Luz explained. "And in turn, I was destroying myself. All I needed was a little Reaching Out. I'm glad you came for me in the end."
Amity took her hand. "And I promise I will be there for you on that day. No matter my schedule."
Luz smiled at Amity. "Thank you, Amity."
Amity grinned. "Remember our first kiss?"
Luz exhaled happily. "Oh yeah. That was so magical. Dark Clouds On The Horizon and that was my source of light that day."
"I still couldn't believe I did that." Amity grinned with mischievous intent. "Oh boy, crikey."
Luz groaned with embarrassment as she placed her hands against her face. "WHYYYYYY?"
"I thought it was cute." Amity grinned. "I had no idea you were Australian."
"Stop it!" The embarrassed Luz exclaimed.
"I won't." Amity retorted. "Wanna know why I kissed you?"
"Spur of the moment?" Luz asked.
Amity began to think back on that fateful kiss. "Probably. I mean, I hadn't seen you for weeks and climbed up my house onto my balcony and entered my room to rescue me. You were my hero, of course I had to reward her with a kiss."
Luz gushed. "Awwww!" She then pulled a saddened look. "Shame that was the day we got stuck in the Human Realm. After King changed the tides of the battle. Sure, King's Tide helped us defeat Belos, but at the cost of others."
Amity held Luz's hand. "Hey, I know those few months weren't the best. But there were good moments. Remember when we went river rafting."
Luz laughed. "You were so scared."
"I was not!" Amity protested.
"Sweet Potato, you were holding my torso through the entire river." Luz retorted.
"And remember when we went to the theatre?" Amity shuddered. "Humans know how to make ghosts scarier than Boiling Isles ghosts. But let's not forget when you came out to your mother."
"I was kind of afraid she wouldn't support us." Luz explained. "Least she does. Heck, she even thinks you'd make an amazing daughter-in-law."
Amity's face fully reddened with surprise. "Daughter…Daughter…Daughter-In-Law?"
"Yup." Luz replied. "Thankfully we did get back to the Demon Realm."
"We would have been doomed if it wasn't for Masha." Amity remarked. "It was All Thanks To Them."
"I still can't believe I hated myself so much I was considering leaving the Demon Realm permanently." Luz sighed. "Amity, how did you not hate me? I was the link that caused Belos to take over."
"Because even if it wasn't you, it would have been someone else." Amity replied. "I know you had no intention to help Belos. Additionally, you had no idea Philip was Belos. And I knew you regretted it. But I have a question." Amity looked sad. "If you did leave the Isles, would you have broken up with me?"
Luz looked forward from Amity with a sad look. "I don't know. I wasn't thinking. I might have allowed you to visit the Human Realm, but the Demon Realm, I didn't wanna step foot in it again because all it was, was a haunting reminder of the destruction I inadvertently caused."
Amity took Luz's hand. "And you ended up saving us. You saved us For The Future. Belos is gone and all we can do is keep Watching and Dreaming for that better future. I'm glad you still visit the Demon Realm. Because when Luz Noceda is walking about my world, I just feel more happy than I usually am."
Luz grinned. "And when you enter my world, you lighten up my life even more."
Amity exhaled. "Ya know Luz, I've also been thinking of something else. Throughout our relationship, has it ever bothered you that you're not dating a human?"
"Has it ever bothered you that you are?" Luz retorted.
Amity, surprised by the question, just gave a smile at her girlfriend. "Luz Noceda, you are perfect the way you are." She and Luz pressed their heads against each their.
"And you are as well." Luz assured her girlfriend.
They removed their heads from one another and then looked each other's eyes. And then, they leaned in and shared a passionate kiss with each other.
But then, the kiss was interrupted when they heard a whistling sound. They pulled out to look across the sidewalk to see Masha and Vee.
"Hey you two!" Masha yelled out. "Can you stop making out so we can go see the parade?!"
Luz gasped. "The parade?! Oh man, I'm gonna miss it!"
Amity stood up and pulled her girlfriend off her feet. "We will not unless we run."
And so, the respective couples began running towards a spot where they can see the parade. "I hope Eda isn't late." Luz said.
"And I hope we see Hurricane Nora." Masha stated.
"Why would you be excited for a hurricane?!" Amity exclaimed.
"No, I'm talking about the biggest party animal around this time." Masha explained. "You'll see her soon."
