Summary: As Giovanni's temporary bodyguards, Jessie and James notice Giovanni's odd behavior since his shooting.

He paints and or sketches all the time; James and Meowth don't mind, but Jessie was bored stupid.

She missed seeing new places, meeting new people, and, surprisingly, blasting off.

She wondered what the twerps were doing.

'You seem bored, Jessie.' The boss muttered without looking up from his sketch pad.

'Yeah.' She sighed. 'I've always been a busybody.' She glanced at him; he was really into whatever he was drawing.

'You're staring.'

'You're noticing.'

'What can we do to ease your boredom?'

Jessie shrugged. 'I don't know. Mr. Giovanni?'

'Yes?'

'I heard you and miss. Ariana yelling last night...'

Giovanni groaned but didn't look up; Jessie looked at her feet and pressed on. 'She thinks you're cheating-'

'We are not in a relationship!'

'Really? But I thought-'

'Miss. Ariana and I are colleagues.'

'Hmm, I'm going press doubt on that.'

'Why?'

'Colleagues don't sleep together.'

Giovanni's face flushed, but he didn't look at her. 'I'm entitled to screw whoever is willing.'

'That's not what I'm getting at.'

He glanced at her, then went back to his drawing. 'Maybe one day, when you're older.'

'So not what I getting at.'

'Then spit it out, Jessica.'

'I want to hear about her.'

'Her who?'

'The woman who saved you.'

Giovanni stopped and turned to face her, then sighed and returned to his pad. 'Haven't you heard? She's a figment of my imagination. A near-death hallucination.'

'You don't believe that.'

He glanced at her. 'I don't know who she is; I don't remember it well.'

'What do you remember?'

'Her voice, it was soothing, sweet.'

'Like a mother's?'

'I suppose. And peacha berries, I remember the smell of peacha berries. Her eyes were like chocolate, and her hair was mahogany; it looked like flames in the sunrise.'

Jessie looked over, seeing Giovanni staring off into the distance.

'Fair skin.'

'Hmm?'

'She had fair skin.'

'James, get up.'

'Why? What's wrong?'

'Nothing. We're just having a guys' night.'

James looked at his watch at 1:30 am; he sighed and grabbed his boots.

Guys night was just the boss drinking and hooking up with random women.

'Where are we headed tonight?'

'Hmm, you choose.'

'I heard that there's a new nightclub on the edge of town.'

'Then that's where we're going.'

James didn't know how he did it, but Giovanni's prowess was unmatched.

And they all seemed to line up for him, two and three at a time...

Was that common?

What can you do with two women that you can't with one?

Maybe he should ask Jessie.

'You looked uncomfortable, James.' Giovanni said over the music.

'I'm not a nightclub person.'

'What?'

'This place is great.'

'I know, right!' Giovanni put his arms around two women. 'I'll be back.'

James sat through a whole '90s playlist and halfway through the early 2000s before Giovanni returned.

'Boss. Did you have fun?'

'Meh, I'm kinda ready to go.'

'Ok, I'll-'

'Oh, wait...' Giovanni looked at the DJ.

'Boss?'

'Shut up and listen to the song.'

'It's Nelly Furtado.'

'Is that the name of the song?'

'The lady who sings it.'

'What's the song called?'

'Say It Right.'

'It's her song.'

'Yeah, it's Nelly Furtado's song.'

'Let's go, James.'

'I think need a haircut.' Giovanni groaned as he pushed some of his hair.

His usually short, flat hair had grown and hung past his eyes, giving him annoying bangs.

'No!' Jessie howled. 'It's better this way!'

'No, cut it.' Meowth purred.

'I guess James is the tiebreaker.'

They looked at James.

'Cut it.'

'It's gone.' Giovanni said, rubbing his chin. Jessie screamed out in protest. 'And I think I need a shave too.'

'The boss is missing!' James exclaimed as he shook Jessie and Meowth awake.

'What?' Meowth jumped up.

Jessie watched them freak out and leave her alone; she took a shower.

When she finished, she got dressed and went to Starbucks, ordered a spinach, feta egg white wrap, and cinnamon dolce latte, and then she went route one.

She found Giovanni there standing at the route between Viridian and Pallet.

'Good morning, sir.' She said, stopping a few feet away.

'Is it morning?' He said in a spacy voice.

'Almost sunrise.'

'So it is.'

'I bought you something to eat.'

'Thank you.'

'If you'd mentioned that you wanted to come here, James and I would have brought you here.'

'I needed to think.'

Jessie didn't ask about what she already knew.

He was thinking about her, his goddess.

'Might I make a suggestion, sir?'

'Why not?'

'First, find the rat bastard that set you up.'

'Was always the plan.'

'And second, find her.'

'That's two suggestions, Jessica.'

'James, Meowth and I will help in any way we can.'

He turned to her, wearing his trademark smirk. 'Let's go home.'
