Time was dragging on. Zac turned to look at the clock hanging on the wall, noticing that it only almost 10 PM.

Peering through the curtains of his room, he was able to see the layout of the hospital floor he was on. A central desk in the center with a couple nurses rotating through, along with rooms similar to his spaced out evenly throughout the rest of the floor.

Even though it was rather late at night, the hospital was still busy with nurses and doctors moving from one patient to the next. Every now and then, he could even see the well-armed guards moving past his door, the ones assigned to the patient with the muzzle over his face. He wanted to head to the morgue, but leaving now would mean being easily spotted. Don't these people have social lives?

Deciding to wait a bit longer, he turned on the TV. He half expected there to be nothing on since he didn't remember the Wildbow actually writing about too many TV shows, but it seemed this world wasn't just a cheap knock off. Every channel had a different show on, most of which he didn't recognize. Currently, he was watching Keeping Up With the Capes – a show about some B list superhero girls struggling with their posh lifestyle. Yeah, no! Next!

He skipped through the channels until the News came up, which let play. He was hoping to find out more about the world. His knowledge of Worm was, of course, limited to only what he had read, but one could never know too much.

The segment on the news was currently showing scenes of Canberra, Australia. Mainly the devastation brought on by an attack from the Simurgh and how the citizens were now quarantined in a dome busy being built around the city.

Zac shivered at the picture displayed of the Simurgh floating above the city of Canberra. A 15 foot tall woman with ivory white skin and platinum blonde hair just as long as she was tall. She wore no clothes, but her modesty was covered by large angelic wings wrapping around her. If he remembered correctly, though, she didn't have much to hide since her body was just a facsimile of the human form, lacking any actual female organs.

Still, rule 34. If it exists, there is…

The Simurgh was, in Zac's opinion, the scariest Endbringer. Something about your mind being toyed with until you went Postal seemed a whole lot more terrifying than just being flattened by a tsunami. Mannequin, after all, became a serial killer after his run in with her.

Zac turned the volume of the TV up, interested in the opponent he may one day face.

"The world's strongest superhero, Scion, did not show up, but thanks to the heroic efforts of Eidolon and Legend, the Endbringer's destruction was halted. The Simurgh's whereabouts are currently unknown."

The segment ended, but just as Zac was about to change channels again, the title of the next piece caught his eye.

New hero in Brockton Bay?

"Earlier today, the actions of some would-be bank robbers were thwarted by the actions of this young man. The police are withholding any knowledge of this robbery being connected to the recent spike in gang violence Brockton Bay. Either way, the robbers were apprehended before even the PRT could respond. The following footage was recorded on the scene."

Zac watched the footage intently, studying it intently. The video itself seemed to be recorded from a cellphone of a passerby, so the image quality wasn't the best, but the main events could be viewed.

The main character of said video was a young man. Dark hair combed neatly to the side over a pair of steel-blue eyes. He was clean shaven, with a strong jawline and sharp nose. The mystery man didn't wear a costume, instead not even trying to hide his identity, but it was obvious he had powers due the fact that he flew into the frame from somewhere off screen.

He then proceeded to easily lift the robber's getaway vehicle, flipping it over onto its roof. He seemed surprised at his own strength, looking at his hands with wide eyes. His surprise was cut short by a metal bar colliding with his head. Instead of the young man been knocked the fuck out, however, he seemed fine. The robber's surprise attack hadn't even left a scratch on him. In fact, the robber was clutching his hand as if he was in pain from the attack.

Like hitting a metal pole with a bat!

The rest of the video was just the robbers being manhandled by the young man without even being able to lay a scratch on him. Zac tried his best, but couldn't place the character. The scene ended with the crowd erupting into cheers at the robber's all being skillfully knocked out with a simple tap on the head by the young man.

The man took in the cheers, giving the crowd a smile with his perfect white teeth.

"Who are you?" someone in the crowd shouted.

"Who am I?"

"What's your name? You know, your superhero name?" he repeated.

The young man pulled his hand through his hair, returning it to pristine condition. "You can call me… Invincible."

The video cut off and the news casters returned. Zac was already walking across the room, now standing right in front of the TV.

"There you have it, folks. Brockton Bay's newest superhero, Invincible. We have reached out to the PRT, but they have yet to comment at…"

Zac ignored the words of the caster. He was trying to remember if there was a superhero named Invincible in Worm, but couldn't come up with anything. As far as he knew, Invincible was a comic book character from his own world.

I mean, it's possible that Shadowy God Monster put some other comic book characters in here with me, or I'm not the only one he brought here from my world?

Zac continued to think of possibilities, but he had a feeling the young man, well, Invincible, was like him, brought here from his Earth. With his own powers, as well, it seems like.

And if that was true, this could complicate matters. Mainly, if Invincible was speaking to the PRT, what exactly was he telling them?

Zac turned off the TV. He'd wasted a full day here already. He needed to put his own plans in motion. Peering through the curtains of his door, he could see that the floor had quietened down considerably while he had been watching TV. Looking at the clock on the wall, it was now a little after 11 PM.

The patients on this floor weren't really in critical condition, so it seemed the skeleton only housed it with a skeleton staff at night. The lights had now been dimmed to accommodate the sleeping patients even. Looking to the station in the center of the floor, he spied only a single nurse.

He waited 15 minutes before she finally stopped staring at the documents in front of her. Opening her drawer, she pulled out a pack of cigarettes, got up, and left his field of view.

Freeeeedom! Zac shouted internally. He waited a couple more seconds before opening his door. Seeing no one in his immediate vicinity, he tiptoed out of his room. Not seeing any of the armed guards, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Righto. To the Morgue, which is…

He wasn't sure exactly where it was, but, if he had to take a guess, somewhere in the basement or the lower floors. He walked up to the elevator and pressed the button, but after waiting 20 seconds got impatient.

Noticing a door with a picture of stairs on it not far from the elevator, he changed his mind. Leaving the elevator, he moved silently to the door. It opened with no issue, allowing him access to the rest of the building.

It was a hospital after all, not a prison. Actually, do I even need to sneak around?
