"You spoke with Heaven?" I gave my father a wide-eyed look as he was adjusting the hat on the little ducky he had on his table in the room he created for himself in the hotel.

To be honest, I was grateful for him being around more often. I knew that he needed something to pull him out of the hole he had placed himself in after Mom left all those years ago and I was more than glad to be a part of it with Vaggie. I think he saw a lot of himself in her and wanted to guide her in the right direction so history doesn't repeat itself.

"You got it, Duckie." His voice was soft yet stern despite the childhood nickname falling from his lips. "Sera said she will be investigating the situation herself and see what will be presented from all of this." He smiled softly as he pushed his new duck invention toward me to see it was a miniature him with the little red cheeks and all. "I'm working on making a little set of the three of us! Cute, right? I wanted to start with myself since I have all the references possible with a mirror and then I can use that practice to make you and Vaggie!" I felt my heart melt in my chest as smiled down to the little rubber duck before me.

Dad was working on himself ever so slowly and if Vaggie and I can be the drive to make him push forward, I'm happy to be so.

"Very cute, Dad." My voice was soft and I took a finger and patted the little hat of the duck. "I'm betting you want me to keep this as a surprise to Vags?"

"Yes, please~." My father drew out the word with a smile before putting his hands behind his back to bring himself back to the serious tone. "Including that of the council looking into things. She's still processing everything and I don't want her getting stressed out over it until I hear back from Sera."

"Are you sure? I think Vaggie would appreciate being told, Dad."

"Trust me, Duckie, you don't want her getting her hopes up." Dad's tone was dark as he stared down at the mini version of him. "They like to shatter them very easily, but I warned them what would occur if they ruined this chance they have to make things better."

"Dad," I reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder which caused him to look up toward me slowly. His eyes looked as if there was a battle raging behind those blood-red eyes. "Vaggie deserves to know. Even if it's something that might not end well, she should be allowed to prepare herself for the possibilities that could come from this. After all, what would happen if they insisted on having Vaggie appear before the council and she never got the chance to prepare herself for meeting those assholes again? She needs to ready herself, Dad." A silence blanketed over us for a second before he let out a deep sigh.

"When did you become so wise, little one?" His voice was so delicate and his eyes softened while looking at me. "Your mother would be so proud." He reached up and placed a hand on top of mine and gave it a small squeeze. "How is Vaggie holding up, by the way?"

"She's good! Really good." I smiled at the thought of the angel as a small blush appeared on my cheeks. "Very good. Best she's been, I bet." My father gave me a curious look as a small smirk appeared on his lips.

"Oh yeah? The best?" I groaned as my father dropped his hand to give me a nudge in my ribs. "Oh come on! Tell your old man!"

"Well- I-." I giggled nervously to myself as I pulled my hand back to fiddle with my blazer. "Kinda possibly," I took a deep breath before word vomiting like a fool. "Accidentallycalledhermygirlfriendwhenyouleftlastsonowweredating." I took a deep breath afterward as my father just stared at me for a second before a wide smile appeared on his lips.

"You like girls! Me too! Ya got a nice taste as well, she's a sweety." I couldn't help but smile like a fool as my dad pulled me into his arms and gave me a tight squeeze. "I'm so happy for you two! I had a feeling something would happen but I know that the last time you had a relationship was with a boy and I wasn't wanting to assume."

"Thanks, Dad." I hugged him back tightly for a second before pulling back with a wide toothy grin. "You're not gonna be that Dad that's gonna threaten them if they hurt me, right?"

"No, Razzle and Dazzle have that job of protecting you when need be." He waved off the thought despite his smirk still being on display. "I doubt she has a bad bone in her body though. Especially with all she's been through." A knock interrupted the moment which caused Dad to panic and cover the rubber ducky with his hat before calling out to the door. "It's open!"

"Hey, guys." Vaggie opened the door with a smile before coming over toward us with her hands in her skirt pockets.

"Hey bitch!" I rolled my eyes at Dad as he then looked over toward me mortified. "What? Did I mess it up? It's hard to act normal around your daughter's first girlfriend."

"You told him already?" Vaggie gave me a smirk as I felt the blush from before returning.

"Yeah! We got talking and well-."

"Hey, it's okay." Vaggie just gave a small chuckle as she moved over toward us to join my side with a smile. "I think by the way you acted the first twenty-four hours after that everyone in Hell would have known already." The blush deepened as my dad got very interested in Vaggie's words.

"Oooo~! Tell me everything!" Vaggie gave him a wide smile before pulling her right hand out from her pocket before wrapping her arm around me and pulling me close.

"This adorable demon kept saying 'my girlfriend' whenever referring to me even if it was just the two of us and giggling like a happy little child every few minutes to herself while whispering the word 'girlfriend'."

"Vaggie~!" My voice came out as a whine as I moved to hide my face in the shorter woman's hair.

"It was cute!" Vaggie just chuckled at my embarrassed reaction as Dad looked like he was watching over a set of hellhound puppies.

"Aw! You two are adorable!" He lunged forward and wrapped his arms around the two of us to squeeze us all into a group hug. "My girls are the best!" I smiled into Vaggie's hair before pulling my head back up after Dad released the two of us.

"Speaking of which, you have something to tell Vaggie, right Dad?" I wrapped an arm around Vaggie as Dad adjusted his vest before clearing his throat while I gave Vaggie a reassuring squeeze.

"So," He put his hands together before him as a serious tone took over his persona once more. "I normally have meetings with Heaven and some of my siblings every so often and not long ago, I had another meeting with them recently which was supposed to be with Adam, but I was able to insist on a meeting with my sister Sera instead."

"You spoke with Heaven?" Her voice was soft as my father just nodded his head.

"Yes. I was able to bring up your situation with them and insisted on her looking into it personally and then presenting a case to the council to have repercussions given for the actions you endured."

"I wonder if they'll take it seriously." I could hear the sorrow in her voice as I felt my girlfriend lean into my side with a sigh. "Adam was seen as a favorite among the angels. Being the first human and all gives you quite a bit of sway over Heaven."

"Well, I gave them a considerable warning to take it seriously and bringing in Father to have everything resolved. She stated that she will do her research into the situation and then we will hear from her and the council if things progress."

"You're the best, Lucifier." I couldn't help but smile at the sincerity in Vaggie's voice as she leaned her head onto my shoulder. "That must have been hard for you and I really appreciate it. I appreciate you telling me too. It's hard to wrap my head around that Heaven is actually looking into it, but maybe some good will come from my falling with this being presented to them."

"Anything for my girls." Dad gave her a sincere smile in return before leaning against the little worker's desk he had behind him. "Now! All this emotion has me hungry and I was working for a good while on my personal project so how about some food? I was thinking-!"

"Pancakes?" Vaggie and I questioned my dad and he just chuckled in reply.

"You girls know me so well! How about it?"

"I guess we could have pancakes as a thank you for your work, old man."

"I'm over ten thousand years old and still got it, sweetie!" I rolled my eyes at the two of them as they bickered a little more while I kept Vaggie close to me.

If two angels falling would lead to this scene of just pure bliss and happiness, I wonder what else the changing of someone's heart can bring?

I smiled to myself as I looked up toward the painting my dad had hanging above his working table. It was an older one of our little family before he and Mom separated that smiled down upon us.

I guess we'll learn the closer we get to opening the hotel.

I leaned my head on top of my girlfriend's as I kept smiling up at the painting.

We'll make you proud, Mom.

All of us.
