Hunt For The Mystical Medals

Many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here a new story arc is about to commence…and here a conflict is about to ensue as one of the Detective Conan allies is about TO TURN…which may lead to some…changes…and how this would affect the flow of the story of this fic…

In the previous arc, a few things happened:
O – Kyuji Hino struggles to try TAMING the purple Core Medals that are inside his body;
O – Vermouth hatches a plan to have Conankh ABSORB Ankh in order for Conankh to BECOME COMPLETE, prompting Kyuji to try a dangerous gamble;
O – Two members of the Magic Kaito Organization managed to discreetly steal Core Medals and succeeded in reviving Gameru, thus they now have a Greed on their side;
Okinomiya Clinic.
The scene shows that Akira Toudou arrived as he is going to check on his wife, as he has been away for several months, and there he is accompanied by Shintaro Gotoh, as the latter decided to tag along after being told by Toudou that he would like to introduce him to his wife, and during the travel Gotoh learned much about Toudou's past and what happened to his wife's family and its connection to Okinomiya and Hinamizawa villages.
Upon arriving at the entrance of the clinic Toudou and Gotoh were greeted by Akasaka Mamoru and Kuraudo Oishi, and the latter two hugged Toudou as they tell him that they haven't seen him for several months, which Toudou apologized and reasoned that he has been busy, and there he introduced them to Gotoh and vice versa, and there they greeted each other and became acquainted.
"Please to meet you two."
"Oh, so you're the one…"
"Toudou told us a lot about you."
"Really?"
"Yeah, he did."
"Toudou said that you'rea really good guy…"
"Though I wonder why you quit being a cop…"
"Well…"
After that they all went inside so that Toudou would see his wife, and as they all went inside, they did not notice that someone is spying on them, and that unseen person has been eyeing Toudou and this unseen person appeared to have malevolent intentions, and is timing his move as he felt that time is crucial and thus he needs to make his move no matter what.
Inside the clinic, the scene shows that Natsumi is excited when she heard shouting Akira's name, and she hugs him. She tells him that the nurse told her that her husband had come to see her. Akira turns Natsumi around, tells her that he'll listen to her later, and tells her to greet Akasaka, which she did and there Akira introduce her to Gotoh, where the latter bowed as this is the first time meeting Akira's wife.
"Hello."
"Oh, hello."
"Your husband told me about you."
"Really…? Akira said that…?"
"Yes."
"Oh my…I'm getting bashful…"
"Well…"
"Oh, fine. Please to meet you Gotoh."
Upon seeing Akasaka, she is excited to see him, but Akira draws her attention to a different matter. He asks her where her coat is, and she tells him she left it in the examination room. Akira goes to get it, and Natsumi waves at him.
There Akasaka whispered to Gotoh about what Natsumi went through and the sacrifices that Akira went through, which Gotoh nodded and said that Akira was earning a lot of money on something which Akira is secretive about it, and Akasaka said that it is understandable why, but assured to Gotoh that Akira is doing the right thing which Gotoh agreed.
"Toudou said that…?"
"Yeah. And I can assure you…he's a really good guy."
"Yeah…I can tell."
"He's been through a lot. And made a lot of sacrifices before he started working for the Kougami Foundation."
"I…see…"
"So please look after him…he has a tendency to overwork himself."
"I will."
"Thanks."

Ch. 174: Hitojichi, minoshirokin, shukkoku part 1
A few days later, the scene shifts at the Kougami Foundation where Toudou brought Gotoh with him as Kougami requested it, and after a lengthy discussion both Kougami and Gotoh came to an agreement and the latter was allowed to work for the Kougami Foundation again, and said that for now Gotoh would be the temporary user of the Prototype Birth-Driver as Toudou is still the user of the Birth-Driver, which Gotoh willingly accepted.
"Although it's not much…I appoint you as the user of the prototype Birth-Driver."
"I accept."
"For now assist Toudou until the right moment and time comes."
"I understand."
"And now we have the REBIRTH of Shintaro Gotoh!"
"Huh…?"
"Happy Birthday!"
"…"
After that both Toudou and Gotoh went to work as they began patrolling the streets to see if there are any Yummies rampaging, and so far everything appeared to be peaceful, and while patrolling Gotoh asked what would he do should the Greed threat is over, and also asked what would he do about his wife, reasoning that Natsumi can't just reside at the Okinomiya Clinic forever.
However Toudou seemingly dodged the question and instead said that it is his problem and only he would address it, which Gotoh felt that Toudou is carrying a heavy burden and told Toudou that he can at least share it with his friends as they are willing to help, which Toudou said that he would have to think about it carefully.
"Well…I'll have to consider that carefully."
"Toudou…?"
"Really."
"Well…"
"But I appreciate the offer, Gotoh."
"Its okay. You can call us if you need help."
"I will. Thanks."
"No problem."

At an unspecified hideout, the scene shows several Diet officials are having a secret meeting, in which they are corrupt officials who are the only ones who are involved in the Hinamizawa Village massacre as well as causing the cover-up of what happened at the Okinomiya Village incident, and there the officials are concerned as they discovered that two persons are aware of the cover-up and feared that the persons would exposed the corrupt officials that may lead to a full-blown investigation.
The persons that the corrupt officials feared were Akasaka Mamoru and Kuraudo Oishi, and there the officials are acting like nervous wrecks as they are worried that the said persons might head towards the Senate house and submit the evidence, and there the officials are bickering on whose fault for their current predicaments.
"This is your fault!"
"Me?"
"It was him!"
"Stop pointing at me! It was you!"
"Hey, I'm not involved!"
"You take the blame!"
"No way!"
"Damn you and your carelessness!"
However, one of the Diet officials came and urged his fellow politicians to calm down, saying that he figured out a way to silence Akasaka Mamoru and Kuraudo Oishi with ease and that they won't have to physically expose themselves, which the other politicians asked what does he have in mind, in which the politician brought out the picture of Akira Toudou, and there he said that Toudou would be the key in keeping the secret a secret.
"As you can see, gentlemen…this person would be the key to OUR SALVATION."
"Huh?"
"What?"
"Really?"
"Are you serious?"
"This guy?"
"You better not be screwing us around…"
"You got to be kidding me…"
While the corrupt politicians are baffled, they decided to put their trust on their fellow politician after being told that he would put the plan in motion and make sure that no exposé would be released and that their secret would remain a secret, which puts the corrupt officials at ease and feel that they are safe from possible prosecution.
"Okay…"

A few days later, the scene shifts at a city block where Uva is battling Kamen Riders Os, Birth and Proto-Birth, as he is being besieged after his initial plans got exposed, and there his creation, the Cockroach Yummy steps in and attempted to defend its master, and surprisingly it kept the three Kamen Riders at bay, as Shiho and Ran discreetly observed the battle nearby, though they noted that the other Greed are not around at this time.
"This is strange."
"What about it, Shiho?"
"The last time you saw, Kazari and Mezeru were there along with the other Ankh…"
"Yes, you're right…but Uva and Gameru aren't there…"
"Which is why I find it strange…before the Greed worked together as a unit, but now…"
"At least it's better as Kyuji and the others won't get ganged up…"
"Good point."
"Yeah."
As Uva was forced to flee, he got past a city block as he tried to recover after sustaining mild injuries, but then he encountered Doctor Maki as he has been observing the scene for a while and there he offered Uva a chance to work with him, reasoning that he could help the insect-Greed in defeating Os while saying that it would benefit him like how Kazari accepted his offer.
Hearing Maki mentioning Kazari made him feel disgusted, in which Uva arrogantly refuses as he felt insulted at the thought of working for a human, and commented that Kazari has stopped so low and said that he would at least enjoy in killing Kazari, but also said that he is willing to kill Maki to give his fellow Greed as sample of what awaits him, though it seems that Maki has a anticipated that Uva would turn his offer down.
"So that's your answer, Uva…?"
"You're damn right!"
"I anticipated this given your nature. Then perhaps I'd give you a GOOD ENDING…"
"Bah! It's you who would get an ending!"
"I doubt it."
"I'll kill you!"
"Your funeral."
"Die!"
Suddenly Kazari showed up from behind and ambushed his fellow Greed as he unleashed a tornado-like blast, hitting him squarely on his back, and the impact sent him quite far, losing several Cell Medals and a Core Medal, further weakening Uva and he is forced to flee, and while Kazari is willing to go after Uva, Maki said that there is no need at the moment as what they just did would surely alert Os, thus Maki and Uva retreated.
A minute later Os and Birth arrived as they saw several Cell Medals sprawled onto the ground and as Birth and Ankh bicker on who would get the Cell Medals, Os saw a Core Medal which he checked it out, which it revealed to be the Suzumega Core Medal, as that medal has the emblem of a hawkmoth.
Meanwhile, after wobbling his way for a block, Uva was reeling after being ambushed, and there he paused as he tries to get his bearings back when Rose and Snake of the Magic Kaito Organization showed up, though the latter is unsure if this is a good idea, which the former said that it is okay as this would depend on the outcome, which Snake sighed and lets Rose do her thing.
There Rose did what Maki has done a while as ago, offering him the chance to work with the Magic Kaito Organization, which Uva arrogantly rebuffed her advances as he reiterated that he rather die than enslave himself to a LOWLY human, which Rose smirked while anticipating the rejection, and with a snap of her fingers, Gameru showed up, having his BULKY lower body armor restored and gored Uva from behind.
There it is revealed that upon being revived Rose manipulated Gameru into believing that Uva is the reason why he was DISMANTLED for several months and the child-minded Greed took her word for it and attacked Uva, blaming him for why he ended up COMATOSED for several months, and Uva was unable to defend himself verbally due to being attacked.
"Damn you!"
"Gameru!"
"You did this to me!"
"What?"
"Because of you…Mezeru is gone! Now I make you pay!"
"You idiot! You got the wrong…"
"Take that!"
"UUUUUNNNNFFFFHHH!"
The repeated attacks took a toll on Uva as he loses more Cell Medals as the next blow sent him careening a few meters away while losing two more Core Medals, and Uva was forced to use his antennas to discharge electrical blasts which disoriented Gameru before the beleaguered Greed made his escape.
As the two Magic Kaito Organization members and Gameru left, Proto-Birth came after hearing the blasts, and upon arriving he saw a wrecked car and several Cell Medals, and upon closer inspection he saw three Core Medals which he picked them up, and Proto-Birth discovered that they belonged to Uva, as the Core Medals are revealed to be the Koorogi, Suzumebachi and Inago Medals.
There Proto-Birth uses his radio to contact Os and Birth and informed them of the discovery and there Birth tells Proto-Birth to proceed with caution as he suspect that there may be other Greed around.
"Okay, but be careful, Gotoh. Kazari and Mezeru might show up."
"Okay."
"If you encounter either or both of them, try dodging them until Hino and I arrive."
"Got it."
"For now hold on to that Core Medal."
"Roger."
"Good. Over and out."
"Okay."
Two minutes later, the scene shows that Uva is limping away, and after losing some of his Core Medals his body armor disappeared and now with only two Core Medals left within his body, Uva realized that if he is ambushed again he is done for, hence he must find a place to lie low and recover his vitality before making a plan to get even at his fellow Greed.
By then Akako Koizumi showed up and almost feel pity at seeing Uva's state and unlike the others who ambushed Uva, Akako politely offered Uva SANCTUARY so as to allow him to recover and that he would get a chance to regain his Core Medals, though Uva's pride proved to be the deciding factor as he vehemently refuse and said that she would be the first to show his fellow Greed and others what it would be like for making him look like a fool.
"So that's your answer, Uva…?"
"You're damn right, you human bitch!"
"So what I was told is true…younare difficult to get along…"
"Bah! Who cares? Anyone who tries to recruit a Greed make them their slave deserves to die!"
"I doubt it."
"I'll kill you!"
"Your funeral."
"Die!"
At that point Mezeru showed up and chastised Uva for his arrogance as she said that Akako is willing to put him under her care but Uva berated her for throwing her pride as a Greed aside FOR ENSLAVING herself to a LOWLY human like what Kazari did, but Mezeru told him that the times have changed and that forming an alliance with a human proved to be beneficial as she pointed out that Kazari and Ankh did the same and worked.
"Damn you, Mezeru! You stooped yourself so low!"
"Don't be stupid, Uva! 800 years have passed, and humans have changed and adapted, so should we!"
"You're the one who is stupid! We Greed should be ruling over the humans, yet you let one rule over you like what Kazari did!"
"Unlike you, I'm willing to take risks, and it was worth it as my human partner brought me back…and Kazari benefitted in working with that human scientist! You too should accept this and adapt…"
"No way! I rather die than become an idiot like you and Kazari!"
"You're the idiot, Uva! Looks like we wasted enough time trying to talk some sense in to you…very well! Take him, my pet!"
"What?"
"Now you pay the price, Uva!"
At this point Uva was ambushed as the Swordfish Yummy stabbed the Greed from behind using his sword-like beak, holding Uva in place as Mezeru unleashed a powerful blast which struck Uva and the Yummy, and both exploded, which several Cell Medals rain down and Mezeru absorbed them before she and Akako took their leave, seemingly satisfied whilst slightly disappointed that they were hoping that Uva would have been a good addition to their alliance.
Over a minute later the three Kamen Riders, along with Shiho and Ran, arrived and are baffled as there was nothing after hearing the explosion, but then Shiho noticed something on the ground and checked it out, with Ran looking on and the two females recognized what they saw, and this made them wondering what happened here.
"Shiho…is that…?"
"Yes."
"…"
"A Core Medal…and this belonged to Uva."
"Huh?"
"It seems that something must have happened here…"
"How…?"
"Not sure…"
Ankh came and checked what Shiho and Ran found, and he smirked a bit as he saw a Core Medal sprawled on the ground revealing it to be the Tondo Core Medal, and there Ankh was slightly pleased as he now has eight of Uva's Core Medals and now he is sure that Uva won't and a problem at this time, though Birth told Os and Proto-Birth that the other Greed might be lurking around. As the three Kamen Riders surveyed the area, the scene shifts at the roof of a pickup truck where a lone Core Medal is dangling, revealing it to be the Kabuto Core Medal, as it somewhat escaped detection after Uva's body got destroyed by Mezeru following repeated attacks from Kazari and Gameru.

Hope you liked this opening chapter of the current story arc, as Akira Toudou takes the spotlight again, and it looks like the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni plot gets revisited as the antagonists of that series are planning something out as they feared that the cover-up on the Hinamizawa and Okinomiya Villages might get exposed…
Uva seemingly got killed after being ambushed by his fellow Greed after turning down the offer to form alliances, but his arrogance costs him a lot, and it remains to be seen whether he gets his body and Core Medals back…
At least the Detective Conan crew appeared as Ran and Shiho tags along…
