The Unexpected Visitor

'Miss Granger, we do not have—,' spoke the man as he rose from behind his desk.

'Shacklebolt, yes we don't have a prior appointment. I must apologise, ' she stated, 'My fifth hearing has been moved out indefinitely—'

'Miss Granger, I am sure you have heard—'

'Heard what—'

Kingsley sighed in Hermione's direction as he settled back into his chair. He motioned for her to follow suit.

For a moment silence surrounded them.

His burgundy cap sat lightly askew atop his head. The embellishments of which mirrored his robes.

'There has been an attack—,' raising his hand slightly, he continued, 'We have apprehended the culprit—'

'Was anyone—'

'No, no. No one killed. Though a few people were injured.'

'Was it a—'

'We know little right now, it's unclear what allegiances might be at play.'

Kingsley smiled weakly at her. She noticed his brows tighten before he continued, 'Hermione, the Ministry's resources will be stretched for the foreseeable future. The Wizengamot have ruled that all non-urgent business is halted—'

'Non-urgent, the welfare of these creatures is not non-urgent, Kingsley—'

'You have my support in this. I have backed this Bill from the start, you know that. However, unfortunately, this attack has them concerned— they are shaken, Hermione.'

Silence filled the room again. Lost in her thoughts, Hermione only just realised Kingsley has spoken up again.

'Take your lunch out today. Enjoy the sunshine,' He smiled at her, 'It was beautiful this morning.'

Hermione returned his smile, 'It was. It sounds like you are trying to get rid of me for a few hours.'

'And what if I am?'

She ignored his question, 'Is there anything I can help with?'

'Not for this.'

'This is feeling very much like you are ushering me out,' she stood up from the chair.

'That I am,' Kingsley stood with her, and walked around his desk to stand with her, 'Enjoy lunch.'

It was not that Hermione would give this up, however, she knew that pushing for the things she wanted was all about timing. At this moment the Minister was preoccupied with the latest urgency and in time she would be able to come back to him.

The monotony of the noise surrounded her. The Ministry was a buzz. Hermione couldn't even hear her own footsteps as her heeled pumps met the tiled floor. Her stride was strong, moving quickly and evenly.

Walking away from his office, she let her thoughts wander. Attacks were uncommon these days. However, not unheard of. Even though the war had been over for many years, the occasional disruptor, as they had been labelled by the Wizengamot, would surface. Often these were merely troubled youths, or low-ranking thugs looking for-

Her shoulder collided with someone else as they passed each other. Both had been in thought. Turning to apologise, she saw Harry.

'Hermione—' He hugged her quickly.

'Headed to Kingsley'

'Yea, Auror—'

'—Business,' she chimed with him, 'He is in. I'm just coming from there—'

'Oh, of course — Sorry about the Bill— I heard from Marissa Margarthy.'

Hermione's shoulders dropped, she sighed deeply in his company. Reaching out, Harry squeezed at her arm.

'I'm sorry, Hermione.'

'I'll come back to it later.'

'Yes, of course. When things settled back down.'

He looked back over his shoulder towards the Minister's offices, 'I have to go, unfortunately. How about lunch?'

'I'm headed out now—' She stopped mid-sentence considering her request, 'Harry, you don't have your,' she lowered her voice, leaning closer to him, 'invisibility cloak here, do you?'

'Why—'

'Just wanted to borrow it—,' she paused, changing her mind, 'Don't worry—'

'No, I do,' he laughed to himself. 'I know it's absurd, but I like having it with me.' They smiled at each other knowingly.

'I do have to run, though, why don't you swing by my office and grab it. It's in my satchel.'

Hermione's smile brightened, she quickly pulled him into a hug, and upon releasing him, 'Go on now.'

'Place your scrolls on my desk as you leave,' with a swish of his wand all the doors to the classroom opened, 'And do not forget to name your scrolls - Unnamed scrolls will receive an automatic Dreadful.'

There was a scurry of motion, as the fifth year students gathered their belongings and exited the classroom. The magicked doors slowly began to close one by one as the class emptied. Soon the room was enveloped in the all familiar dimness; only lit by the classroom candles.

Severus looked back over his shoulder, his eyes scanned the room. He was alone. And yet he felt as if he wasn't.

He stood at his desk, his back to the rest of the classroom.

It was light, but he was sure of the scent: green apples. She was often surrounded in the scent of green apples. The corner of his lip raised into a grin.

In the quiet of the room the rustle of the fabric was evident as it fell to the floor, crumbled at her feet.

'Very brave of you, Miss Granger.'

'How long have you known,' she moved towards him.

He moved a handful of items around on his desk, as he listened to her approach, 'Long enough.'

Turning he caught the sight of her pale blouse fall to the floor. She moved towards him confidently, her hands working at the skirt she wore.

'Eager are we?'

'My lunch opened up,' she smirked at him.

'And now your legs—'

'How crass!' She shot at him as her skirt fell to her ankles. With a little shuffling she deposited her shoes with the skirt and continue towards the man.

He was unable to take his eyes off her. She was left barely covered in sheer black undergarments. He watched as she reached up undoing her mane; her hair cascaded down, covering her shoulders. It was wild. Her eyes gazed up at him sparkling. Her body mere inches from his.

'Might you be able to make some time for me, Professor?'

He reached for her, his hands running smoothly up her arms. His fingers grazing against the exposed skin. At her shoulders, he snapped at the straps, eliciting a whimper from her. Tracing the straps down, he let his fingers circle the peaks through the fabric. His eyes transfixed to her.

'I've missed you,' she moaned out as his hands spalled against the fabric, his thumbs masterfully manipulating her hardening peaks.

With a swift motion, Severus pulled her to him, kissing her roughly. His lips devoured hers, as his hands roamed over her sides and back, gripping at her. It didn't take long for him to divest her of her undergarments, leaving her on her tiptoes pressed against the wool and linen of his attire.

Hermione in turn did not hesitate in working through his buttons, belts, and zips. She quickly gained access to his skin under his clothing.

'No, don't take it off,' she countered when he reached to remove his layers. 'Take me like this, here,' her eyes met his.

He barely nodded. The wanton woman in front of him made him speechless. He pulled her into him again, her hand trapped between them pressing against him as he turned them. Pushing her to sit at the edge of the desk, he let her guide him as he settled between her legs.

Still fully dressed, Severus pushed into her smoothly, her legs instinctively wrapping around him, pulling him deep.

'It's been—,' he breathed deeply as he settled into her, '—too long.'

His body moulded to hers as they moved together; she responded to each urgent thrust.

Severus and Hermione, in a classroom deep within the dungeons of Hogwarts, found themselves wrapped up in each other, unwilling to let this moment go.
