Let the record show Shoko was skeptical from the beginning.

Sure she's got a decent job, and yeah she's fit enough to seem semi-attractive. But most guys don't wanna date a girl who spends more than half of her day cutting people open. Most guys don't see scrubs as sexy. The few that do usually have some sort of weird fetish that involves blood play.

And even those weirdos don't mesh well with her attitude. One even tried to make her wear a muzzle, but that's a different story. Different freak.

Let's focus on the real issue here, the source of her skepticism and her arousal.

Suguru Geto.

He came in on a bad day. Shoko had just worked a triple along with her office's lead surgeon. Said surgeon passed out during the surgery of a no-name kid hours before. The higher-ups tried to pass it off to some interns but nobody was available. The kid was coating, they were about to die, and Shoko knew the steps to perform a thoracotomy.

She knew she could save the kid, so she did. She saved the mysteriously quiet four-year-old's life. And then she made the mistake of staying with the kid all night, making sure no 'monsters' got her. Because according to the brat that's what Papa and sissy always did.

She even crocheted the kid a little pink teddy, cause she had nothing better to do.

And why was that bad you may ask. Well as an assistant nurse, Shoko's duties are very clear, she is not supposed to perform any surgeries, especially the high-risk ones. She's just there to hand off the tools, wipe off the sweat, and maybe administer a bit of morphine.

In a case like this, she was supposed to let the little girl die. Avoid the lawsuit and the repercussions.

But she's an idiot.

So it was a bad day because she got just fined a grip, reprimanded by her supervisor, threatened with legal actions, and fired.

So excuse her if she's a bit skeptical that the same day her life is pretty much in shambles, she met him.

When Suguru Geto walked into that hospital the world stopped. Or maybe just the lobby, the series of suits surrounding him not to mention his ethereal beauty caught everyone's eye. Everyone, except Shoko's.

And no it wasn't because she was trying to be 'different' or more alluring. She had just been fired, she probably was gonna get sued by the hospital or whoever the kid's parents were. And she hadn't slept in over 18 hours. She barely noticed the color of the sky, let alone a seasoned Mr. Perfect.

Cause seriously the guy looked like a movie star. He was over six feet tall, lean if his well-fitted suit had anything to say about it. His porcelain skin shined like fucking glass, the gleam only to be rivaled by the sheen of his fucking hair.

Okay, sue her, maybe he did catch her eye just a little. But hey, she's human, wouldn't it be weird if he didn't?

Cause seriously who looks like that? Who walks around with the face of a Buddhist priest, and the frown of wears Armani suits, but has their hair in a messy bun? Who the hell commands the room the second they walk in and dare yell at already brooding Doctor Mibin.

Just who the hell is Suguru Geto.

She doesn't get an answer, not at first, in an effort to not deal with tearful goodbyes nor the carnage 'Big Suit 'was sure to bring, she sneaks out amongst the gawking. She spends the rest of the day sleeping until her sister gets home. Then she and Uta watch old reruns of Law and Order, cry about the bills, and eat way too much ice cream.

She's in her second bucket of cookies and cream when Hado calls. Hado, is Shoko's best work friend. He's friendly and happy and a bit snarky, but he is always loyal. And he always knows everything about everyone.

It's Hado that tells, Shoko about the mysterious 'suit' Mr. Geto. He explains dudes rich rich (duh), and apparently a DILF. Said DILF has full custody but allows visitation to his ex-wife, Manami Suda. A very rich model turned drug addict. ( Who apparently Shoko so should know about).

Anyways, according to Hado, it was Suda's week to visit the couple's twins. A responsibility she usually missed, but for some reason didn't. Suguru was out of town, so the ex-wifey picked the girls up from school.

It kinda went downhill from there.

From what Hado gathered, Suda barely fed or took care of the kids for the few hours she had them. And when one of her 'employers' came by and things got heated, one of the twins got shot.

That twin just so happened to be the mystery no-name patient Shoko had saved the night before. The little girl whose surgery nearly got her fired and sued.

Nearly meaning shortly after Hado's big gossip session, the higher-ups called Shoko. Apparently, Suguru Geto was so thankful about his daughter's surgery, that he donated half a million to the hospital.

And apparently, his instance on meeting the doctor who saved his daughter's life, as well as his money has swayed the higher-ups to forget about this little incident.

So, she's not fired, not anymore.

Instead, she's got a promotion, a raise. She has her own office now, she got a scholarship to the hospital's medical program, and for the first time in her life, a guy bought her flowers.

Specifically, Surguru Geto bought her, her favorite flowers.

But as she takes on far more coursework than legally possible, as she juggles her job and her lack of social life, as she fingers the dark violet tulip on her brand new desk, she can't help but be…a bit skeptical.

Good things just don't happen to girls like her, never have.

Hello! Here we are with a new story! Yay!

I know, I know, Chapter 1 had no dialogue, so not my norm but I kinda wanted to establish the plot a bit before we jump into the lore. So if you haven't checked out my other JJK stories, basically I watched Seasons 1 and 0 but refuse to watch 2 until I am emotionally prepared lol. So a lot of personality for the characters I'm kinda making guesses lol. Hope you don't mind.

This is another AU, only unlike my other AU story this has no curses, they are regular smegular humans in this. Shoko is our overworked poor skeptical and sarcastic nurse, Geto is a rich fuck with a alot going on. Uta a loyal pre-school teacher with a heart of gold, and Gojo oh so much words not enough time to explain Gojo lol.

Pre-warning this story is a bit darker than my other stories, also not connected to my other ones.

Anyway hope you enjoyed it, thank you ever so much for reading. Please let me know what you think.
