Hey guys, I'm sorry I missed the last two weeks. I will post chapters 14 and 15 today and hopefully get chapter 16 out tomorrow.
Chapter 14
Once Wendy left the house, she began walking with Natsu and Lucy toward the guild. They walked silently until they got to the guild, and Natsu spoke, "A few guild related rules: no missions, no leaving the guild by yourself, and no being alone with Romeo when he comes. Okay?"
Wendy agreed and they walked into the guild together, taking in the boisterous atmosphere that is Fairy Tail. Wendy shared a fond look with her brother as she reminisced of the day they first began their adventure in the place they called home.
To Wendy's surprise, the day went by very quickly. She spent the morning reading alone in the library. She chose a book called 'Pregnancy: What You Need to Know When You're Expecting!', but all other curious mages would see a different cover on the book that said 'Sky Magic: Ins and Outs'.
Around lunchtime, Wendy left the library and spent some time with Romeo. They sat at a table in the back of the guildhall and talked while they ate. Wendy ate half of a small sandwich, and Romeo ate the other half of her sandwich, a Reuben, and some French fries for lunch.
Romeo had just finished his mountain of food when they heard someone yell, "Hey, everybody!"
They got up and walked toward the sound, quickly realizing that Gray was standing near the entrance with Juvia; it seemed like she was trying to get him to be quiet. "Gray-sama, we don't have to do this now."
"But I want to," Gray replied, the grin on his face larger than ever.
As everyone gathered, Wendy noticed that even though Juvia was trying to convince Gray not to announce something, they both seemed happy. Every look they shared was overflowing with love.
"What's your big news, ice princess?" asked Wendy's brother.
Gray smiled and looked at Juvia, "Well, it's actually both our news… we're having a baby!"
Everyone cheered for the couple as Gray pulled Juvia into a side hug.
"That's great! I'm so happy for you two," Lucy said as she walked up to hug them.
Natsu followed behind her with a cocky grin and said, "I'm happy for you, Gray. Now, Nashi will have some competition. I can't wait to see her kick your kid's ass one day."
Gray smirked, retorting, "In your dreams, flame brain."
Before Natsu could respond, Lucy kicked the back of his leg and said, "Excuse Natsu for being impolite." Lucy grabbed Natsu by the ear and dragged him away from the happy couple while lecturing him for being inconsiderate about Juvia's feelings.
"Why are you even thinking about Nashi fighting anyone?" Lucy asked with a pointed glare. Natsu just mumbled inaudibly and winced as she pulled him over to their table before letting go of his ear. He sat down with a groan and rubbed his sore ear, looking pitiful in the face of Lucy's wrath.
"This calls for a celebration. Drinks on the house for everyone!" declared Makarov.
Wendy watched as Erza walked up to congratulate Gray and Juvia and thought about her own situation. What if she announced her pregnancy to everyone? Would the guild be happy? She knew the answer to this question instinctively: no, they wouldn't.
People would not come up to her and Romeo with smiling faces to say, "Congratulations! It's great that you're having a baby."
Instead, they would receive the opposite treatment. Wendy knew that if she told everyone, she and Romeo would be on the receiving end of judgment and disappointment. People would even say, "Why did you do this? You're not responsible enough to have a baby. We expected better of you."
Seeing that Wendy was deep in thought, Romeo grabbed her hand, breaking the trance, and whispered, "We can go back to our table if you want. We don't have to say anything right now."
Wendy thought about what Romeo said, knowing that not congratulating them was rude. Still, she had the right to be rude and hormonal in her state, so she nodded. They began to go back to the table when Lucy walked up to them. "Wendy, we're about to leave. Are you ready to go?"
Wendy sighed in relief. Now, she had a reason for not speaking to them. "Yeah, let me say goodbye to Romeo, then we can go."
Lucy smiled. "Alright. By the way, have you spoken to Gray and Juvia?"
Wendy shook her head and Lucy sighed. "I'm not gonna make you, but you should say something. I know it may be hard, but they are your friends," Lucy gently admonished.
Wendy's face fell at the thought. She knew Lucy was right. "Natsu and I will get Nashi from Levy, then wait outside. You have five minutes to say your goodbyes," Lucy said, before turning around and walking away.
Romeo, who had been watching their interaction, wordlessly grabbed Wendy's hand and led her toward the table where Gray and Juvia were sitting.
Gray smiled as they walked up, and Romeo said, "Wendy and I wanted to say congratulations. We are really happy for you."
Juvia, who was holding Gray's hand, said, "Thank you. We appreciate everyone's excitement."
"You're welcome," said Wendy. The older couple stood up to hug the teenagers before their attention was pulled away by others offering their congratulations.
After the hug, Romeo walked Wendy to the door. "You didn't have to do that, but thank you," she whispered. Wendy pressed a kiss to his cheek to show her appreciation.
"I know I didn't have to, but I wanted to, and you're welcome. See you later," he said, giving her a quick kiss goodbye.
