A/N: Now, we have a battle between two hated enemies the United States have fought during the 20th century. Now for those wondering why the PAVN have the weapons I've given them you'll have to wait and read the note at the end of the chapter. Anyway, hope you are all excited for this battle so here we go!
XXXXXX
People's Army of Vietnam: Communist soldiers of Ho Chi Minh who battled the U.S. Military and won the Vietnam war.
(A PAVN infantry regiment is seen engaging U.S. Army infantry during the battle of Ia Drang. The U.S. troops are cornered in a ravine and one by one they are slowly annihilated. The PAVN soldiers then celebrate their victory among the corpses with their weapons raised high.)
vs.
Imperial Japanese Army: The soldiers of the Empire of Japan who's loyalty to the Emperor and sheer fighting spirit made them the most dominant force in the Pacific.
(IJA infantry are seen waiting on a beach head in Peleliu as U.S. Marines forces storm it. The IJA infantry open fire on the Marines with their Type 99s killing them as they attempt the storm the beach.)
WHO IS DEADLIEST?
To find out, we've assembled a team of world class fighters to test history's most lethal weapons. Using 21st century science, we'll see what happens when two warriors go toe to toe.
No rules. No safety. No mercy. It's a duel to the death to decide who is...THE DEADLIEST WARRIOR!
Last time both armies emerged victorious after their previous conflicts against equally determined opponents.
(The PAVN Sergeant holds the Wehrmacht Hauptmann at point-blank range with his Makarov PM. Squeezing the trigger he blows the Nazi's brains out.)
Now, what will happen when these two armies are brought together to fight a war for supremacy?
(The IJA Sergeant stands tall over the severely injured KPA Sergeant. With one swift swing he decapitates the Korean with his Shin Gunto sending the head rolling across the ground.)
Here in our elite fight club we have gathered doctors, medical scientists and weapons experts to test out the lethal arsenals wielded by each of our combatants to determine who would win a fight between two highly motivated and ferocious armies from the 21st century.
People's Army of Vietnam
Active: 1944-Present
Circa: 1965
Height: 5'4''

Force size: 287,465
Allegiance: Ho Chi Minh, Communism
Imperial Japanese Army
Active: 1867-1945
Circa: 1945
Height: 5'5''
Weight: 140 lbs.
Force size: 6,000,000

''Today on back for blood we have another battle between two Asian armies that we've engaged in combat during the 20th century. On one end you have the communist soldiers of North Vietnam going against the radical soldiers of the Imperial Japanese Army. It's a battle where these two armies fought us with an unmatched ferocity and don't stop until they're dead or they win.'' Barry explained.
''For the sake of the Imperial Japanese Army we've scaled down the PAVN's arsenal by taking out the RPG-2 and the Type 56 and giving them weapons that will make this fight an even match as possible.'' Geoff said.
''These are two motivated armies and outlandishly ferocious ones. I can't wait to see who wins this amazing battle." Dorian added.
''We've got a variety of weapons ranging from bolt-action rifles, light machine guns and grenades. Let's go and get some weapons data." Barry concluded.
The ferocious communist soldiers engaged ARVN and U.S. forces with a robust arsenal well-suited for jungle warfare.
Melee: 6H2 Bayonet
Short Range: Makarov PM
Mid-Range: MAT-49
Long Range Bolt-Action: MAS-36 Rifle
Long Range LMG: RPD Light Machine Gun
Explosives: F-1 Grenade
In turn the IJA marched into combat with a precise arsenal of firearms.
Melee: Shin Gunto
Short Range: Type 14 Nambu
Mid-Range: Type 100 Submachine Gun
Long Range Bolt-Action: Type 99 Arisaka
Long Range LMG: Type 99 Light Machine Gun
Explosive: Type 99 Grenade
For melee combat these two armies brought with them blades used to skewer and disembowel American GIs. The IJA Shin Gunto and the PAVN 6H2 bayonet. Since we've already tested the Shin Gunto before we will move on with the bayonet.
''Care to explain the bayonet the PAVN used Ho Chi Minh?'' Geoff asked the PAVN expert.
''Yes, it's a bayonet that is commonly attached to the AK-47. It's design is actually quite reminiscent of the ka-bar knife. It's two inches long and weighs less then a pound.'' Explained Ho.
''Great. We've set up a torso here for you so we can gauge it's damage potential and if you can cause instant kills with each strike. Feeling up to it?'' Geoff said pointing to the target.
''Ready when you are.'' Ho replied getting into position.
''Alright then, 3...2...1...CUT EM UP!'' Geoff called out.
Ho unleashes a vicious war cry and literally jumps the torso stabbing it on the crown of the skull several times before moving on to the neck. He wastes no time in aggressively stabbing the crap out of the neck before moving onto the chest and stabs it three times before leaving the blade in the heart.
''All done!'' Ho exclaimed with hands raised.
''Holy crap, what the heck was that Ho?'' Geoff asked nervously as Dorian walks over to assess the damage.
''Well then, the attacks to the head are all instant kills because each stab from what I'm seeing got into the brain. A kill with each stab. Next with the neck you've severed all major veins and arteries in there which will lead to quick bleed outs and then death. Lastly your three stabs got him in both his lungs and his heart. These combined make another kill.''
''Man that was some sick shit I tell you.'' IJA expert Ken spoke up shaking his head.
''It's about to get sicker.'' Ho replied with a smirk.
The team now reviews the testing of the Shin Gunto from it's debut episode and similar blades such as the katana and tachi. After a brief discussion they finally come to a decision. Boys?
''Thanks narrator. Our edge is a unanimous one by the way, you have a short bayonet against a sword so what more is there to say?'' Geoff started off.
''Easy, sword versus a knife or bayonet the sword wins ten times out of ten.'' Dorian added.
''Shin Gunto, length guys, length.'' Barry concluded.
For melee weapons, the edge goes to the Imperial Japanese Army for the Shin Gunto.
Now for short range combat these armies brought with them their signature pistols that were capable of blowing a hole through their enemies skulls. The IJA type 14 Nambu and the PAVN Makarov PM.
The team now reviews the footage of said pistols in action and after noticing the reliability issues with the Nambu the edge is as easy as ever.
''We've seen the Nambu perform before and it's design in flawed. The Makarov PM is reliable and more robust just like the Tokarev and therefore it gets the edge for the same reasons.'' Geoff explained.
''Me and Barry agree whole-heartedly, the Tokarev beat the Nambu so the Makarov would as well. Edge Makarov PM.'' Dorian said earning a nod from Barry.
''Catridges were known to get caught in the ejection port of the Nambu, that right there ruins the weapon for me. Edge Makarov PM.'' Concluded Barry.
In short range weapons, the edge goes to the PAVN for their Makarov PM.
For mid-range weapons these two armies came equipped with two submachine guns capable of mowing down multiple enemies at once. The PAVN's MAT-49 and the IJA's Type 100.
Since we've already seen the Type 100 before we will move on with the PAVN's favored sidearm.
Ho Chi Minh walks over to the panel with his weapon in hand. ''Hello guys, here I have the MAT-49. It's a French-made submachine that originally uses a 20 or 30-round box magazine but when the Viet Cong and PAVN got their hands on it they convereted it to carry 35. In Vietnam they replaced the 9x19 parabellum rounds and chambered this gun with the same cartridge the TT-33 pistol used which is the 7.62x25mm. It has an effective range of 100 meters and weighs 9 pounds when loaded.'' The Vietnamese man explained.
To test out the MAT-49, Geoff has set up four dynamic targets at the LOMA range with tannerite jars inside of them. When each jar is struck the target will explode giving Ho the signal that the target has been killed. He will have two magazines to accomplish the task. The targets will be wearing IJA uniforms for inspiration.
''Alright Ho, you heard what the narrator said so when you're ready to can start.'' The Canadian man exclaimed.
Nodding, Ho takes his first magazine and loads it into the weapon, pulling the bolt back and getting the round into the chamber he raises his weapon and takes aim at the farthest target and unloads a 5-round burst into it's chest with the final round striking the tannerite jar causing the target to explode.
''Nice!'' Geoff commented.
Moving on to the second target Ho fires about eight rounds into the target but is unable to hit the jar, firing another three round burst he successfully destroys the target blowing it in half. Looking at his third target he fires ten rounds into is causing the target to lean forward on one leg as the jar detonates inside of it causing the upper half of the body to fly away. With three of his targets taken care of he wastes no time in emptying the rest of his magazine into the final target but to his shock he did not hit the tannerite jar. Taking his second magazine he loads his weapon and empties all 35-rounds in to the target and despite hitting it with the tenth round he mercilessly fires into it until his weapon clicks empty.
''Damn Ho, that was brutal.'' Barry commented as they walk over to inspect the damage.
''Just showing off the PAVN's brutal nature.'' Ho quipped.
''Man, I shot better.'' Ken commented.
''No way, I did fellow Asian.'' Ho retorted.
After testing the lethality and effectiveness of these two weapons, which one do our experts believe takes the edge?
''This is a total wash. Reviewing the Type 100's test in it's debut episode we see that it and the MAT-49 performed near equally. I think it'll come down to the discipline of each army that decides which outshoots the other.'' Geoff started off.
''In my case, I give a slight edge to the MAT-49.'' Dorian countered, ''When it saw use by the Viet Cong and PAVN they modified it to fire the 7.62 Tokarev cartridge which is a bit larger than the Type 100's 8x22 Nambu. For stopping power I have to side with the MAT-49.''
''I disagree with you doc and call this comparison as even. It falls down on the individual wielding each weapon. Similar rates of fire, range and muzzle velocity. Wash.'' Barry concluded.
For mid-range weapons, it's an even match-up.
For long range weaponry these two armies came equipped with two deadly bolt-action rifles.
Since we've already tested the Type 99 Arisaka we will now move on to the preferred bolt-action rife the PAVN carried into battle. The MAS-36.
The team now heads out to the Malone 14 Rifle qualification range.
''Here is the MAS-36 men, it's a bolt-action rifle first adopted in 1936 by France and intended to replace the Berthier and Lebel series of service rifles, it saw service long past the World War II period. It weighs 8 lbs and has a muzzle velocity of 2,789 feet per second with an effective firing range of 400 meters and lastly it uses the 7.5x54mm French.'' Explained Ho.
To test out the performance of the MAS-36 in the heat of battle, Geoff has set up a scenario where Ho will make contact with the enemy and will fire from two positions. One crouched behind cover and one prone behind a set of sandbags.
''Alright Ho, you heard what the narrator said so whenever you're ready you may begin.'' Geoff said.
Nodding, Ho loads his first five rounds manually and takes up his position behind cover.
''Okay Ho, on 3...2...1...Fire!" Geoff called out.
Ho runs straight for his first position and crouches into place. With his first five rounds already loaded he takes aim at the first target which was positioned behind cover he aims at it and fires off his first shot striking it dead center in the face blowing out the back of the skull. He then set his sights on the dynamic target behind it and fires getting it dead in the chest.
''Nice shooting.'' Geoff complimented.
Ho then aims for the third target and wastes no time in firing his last three shots and all three shots strike the target in the chest. With his first five shots expended he goes to reload his next five rounds one at a time. With his reload finished Ho gets on his feet and rushes over to his next position where he would lay prone behind makeshift cover.
''That reload time killed it a bit for him.'' Dorian said.
Now in position Ho takes aim at the next set of targets and begins to fire at them with the first one takes a round to the neck blowing it out completely. with that target disposed of Ho aims at the second dynamic target and leads it into a shot that saw the round strike it in the cheek. The final static target lay partially behind a crate for cover. With the position he was in he could only spot the target's left arm but it doesn't deter him and he wastes no time in firing his last three rounds striking the crate and manages to hit the target with all three shots.
''Time!" Ho calls out.
''You completed the course in 2 minutes and 3 seconds Ho! Not bad at all!" Geoff said as they walk over to inspect the damage.
''I'm liking the carnage I see here.'' Dorian said as he walks through the course checking the targets. ''The first target you took down took a round dead center in his face and that is no doubt an instant kill. The second one took a bullet straight through his aorta and if you pop that sucker you're instantly dead. All in all I'm seeing shots in the chest and neck with the other targets and judging by the placement they're all kills.'' Concluded Dorian.
''There's only one complaint that I have with the MAS-36 Ho and it's the way you have to reload.'' Barry said, ''If you have to reload one round at a time during a firefight it's gonna come down to whether you can remain very calm while under fire.''
''PAVN were battle-hardened warriors so they'll have no problem reloading this weapon in combat.'' Ho said.
The team now reviews the testing of the type 99 Arisaka from it's previous debut and after comparing the two weapon's statistics our team discuss among themselves before coming to a decision.
''I think I'll have to go with the Arisaka on this one. It has the option of attaching a scope to it bringing it's already massive effective range even higher and the Japanese were extremely good shots with the weapon.'' Started Geoff.
''I disagree and give this to the MAS-36 based on it's higher muzzle velocity which means the PAVN puts targets down faster.'' Dorian countered.
The tiebreaker would now fall upon Barry's shoulders.
''Gentleman, once again it falls upon the soldier wielding the weapon. They are both fine bolt-action rifles and fire large cartridges. In the end the one who gets the first shot gets the win.''
In long range bolt-action rifles, it's an even comparison.
Moving on to long range light machine guns these two armies brought with them highly effective tools capable of immense suppressive fire. Since the Type 99 LMG greatly resembles the Gurkhas' Bren the team reviews the testing of it in 'Gurkha vs. Waffen SS' and since we've already tested the RPD before in 'FARC vs. Tamil Tigers' the team comes to an easy conclusion.
''This one is a no brainer, the RPD is the much more reliable weapon and the ability to use a 100-round drum magazine over the Type 99's 30-round magazine gives it a huge edge.'' Geoff said.
''I simply cannot not overlook the RPD's much larger magazine size. Seriously with that many rounds the PAVN can easily pin the IJA down for a while not giving them a chance to advance. Edge RPD.'' Dorian seconded.
''For it's larger magazine and slightly higher muzzle velocity the RPD takes it in a vote of three to zero.'' Barry concluded.
In long range light machine guns, the edge goes to the People's Army of Vietnam for the RPD Light Machine Gun.
XXXXXX
Now we move on to the favored explosive weapons these armies used to blow away their American adversaries.
The panel now reviews the testing of the Type 99 grenade in it's debut episode. After doing so they head out to the Malone 1 Hand Grenade range where Ho awaits them.
''Hello men, here I have the F-1 Grenade. This is an anti-personnel fragmentation defensive grenade. It is based on the French F1 grenade and contains a 60-gram explosive charge or TNT. The total weight of the grenade with the fuze is about 600 grams.'' Ho explained holding the grenade.
''Alright, to test that grenade out we've set up a battle formation where five gel torsos are positioned in a circular pattern, it's just a simple test where we will have you throw the grenade over the wall and into the pit.'' Geoff explained.
Nodding, Ho takes his earpro and walks over to the pit where PFC Rice Man awaits him. He gets into position and awaits the signal from Rice Man to begin.
''Throw.'' Said the Infantryman.
Ho then pulls the pin off the grenade and hurls it over the wall watching the spoon fly off of it. The grenade sails through the air and lands in front of the torsos before detonating sending three of the targets falling on their sides.
''Nice, that was some explosion!" Geoff exclaimed as they all walk out of the tower and head into the pit.
''Wow, look at these guys!'' Exclaimed the doctor as he inspects the downed torsos. ''These guys have shrapnel embedded in their legs and two of them have their femoral arteries severed. So if they don't get to the hospital or a medic comes by in time they will bleed out and die. This one guy over here got burnt from the initial blast and I'm seeing shrapnel in his face so he's gone. The last two targets in the back suffered shrapnel damage as well but they haven't been hit in spots that would kill them, namely mortally wound them.''
''That was definitely a nasty explosion regardless.'' Ken commented.
''Meh, I've seen better.'' Ho joked.
After testing the F-1 Grenade our panel now once again reviews the testing of the Type 99 grenade in it's debut episode and after a heated debate they finally come to a decision.
''I'm calling this one even boys. Both grenades appeared to do the same amount of damage and the explosive power seems about even.'' Geoff started.
''I would have to agree as well, the only thing I see is the F-1 managed to kill three targets out of five but that was due to the position it was in. Nonetheless their explosive power appears equal. Edge even.'' Dorian seconded.
''Took the words right out of my mouth. Even across the board.'' Barry concluded.
In explosive weapons, the edge is even.
Coming up, Barry gauges the x-factors and later our battle between the 20th century's most vicious Asian armies begins!
XXXXXX
Welcome back, we've reviewed and tested the weapons wielded by two of America's most hated enemies of the 20th century.
For melee weapons, the IJA's Shin Gunto decapitated the PAVN's 6H2 bayonet.
''It's a bayonet going up against the sword. Frankly obvious the sword wins.'' Geoff explained.
Edge: Imperial Japanese Army
For short range weapons, the PAVN's Tokarev TT-33 outshot the IJA's Type 14 Nambu.
''The Nambu pistol is known to have reliability issues which is what brings it down. Rounds were known to get caught in the ejection port. However, the TT-33 doesn't have that issue and it's larger caliber and more robust design gains it the edge.''
Edge: People's Army of Vietnam
For mid-range weapons, the IJA's Type 100 and PAVN's MAT-49 were determined to be equally lethal.
''The MAT-49 performed extremely well in the test much like the Type 100 did in it's own. Both weapons possess similar range and rates of fire that neither I or the other two can give one the edge.''
Edge: Even
For bolt-action rifles, the IJA's Type 99 Arisaka and the PAVN's MAS-36 were determined to be equally lethal.
''Each weapon has a pro going for it. The Arisaka has much more range and somewhat larger cartridge but the MAS-36 has the higher muzzle velocity meaning it will put targets down faster. It's those respective pros that puts these two on an even playing field. ''
Edge: Even
For light machine guns, the PAVN's RPD light machine gun destroyed the IJA's Type 99 light machine gun.
''It's a pretty easy edge here. The RPD has a lot more rounds going for it with that 100-round belt while the Type 100 uses a 30-round box magazine. The RPD also has that robust design and an equally powerful if not more powerful catridge.''
Edge: People's Army of Vietnam
And finally, the IJA's Type 99 grenade and PAVN's F-1 grenade were equal in terms of killing power.
''Since these two grenade's have a roughly five second fuse as well as near equal explosive power we cannot determine a winner here. Therefore this is even.'' Geoff concluded.
Edge: Even
And now Barry will gauge the x-factors of these two warriors.
''Alright, first up is training and the we've given the IJA an extra point so that they were even with the PAVN with an 85 each. Both armies are professional and are highly disciplined.''
''Next is dominance and the IJA took it with a 92 to the PAVN's 90 because the IJA subjugated most of Asia and the Pacific under their rule.''
''For ferocity the IJA had a 96 to the PAVN's 90. This was due to how absolutely ferocious the IJA soldiers were to their enemies.''
''Fourth is operational experience and the IJA has an 87 to the PAVN's 73. The IJA fought in the flatlands of Mongolia, China, the jungles of Southeast Asia and the varied terrain of the Pacific islands while the PAVN were only in their native Vietnam.''
''Up next is loyalty and we gave the edge to the IJA with a 100 compared to the PAVN who scored a 95. No need to explain since the IJA viewed their Emperor as a living God and were ready to die for him.''
''Last is motivation and we rated both dead even with a 100 each. The IJA were motivated by the superiority of the Japanese people compared to other Asian ethnicities while the PAVN were motivated to fight and reunite Vietnam as one communist state.''
Barry has now finished going over the x-factors of the warriors. He will now run the simulator 1,000 times pitting 5 PAVN infantryman against 5 IJA infantryman.
''In the end, only one army will remain standing, let's see who it is.'' Barry said pressing the button.
XXXXXX
The stage is set, after several months of war the Imperial Japanese Army has finally made their way into the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi and we see five IJA soldiers making their way towards the streets of the red light district.
Their objective is to maintain a hold of the Vietnamese capital until additional forces arrive so that they can deliver the crushing blow to Vietnam and win the war.
Imperial Japanese Army: 5
Several blocks down the street from where the Japanese soldiers were we see five PAVN soldiers taking up positions within an bombed out shopping center. Three PAVN soldiers, one being the Sergeant are seen sitting on chairs outside of a pawn shop while one is seen tending to his RPD in the second floor window and the last man is on roof with a MAS-36 in hand.
People's Army of Vietnam: 5
Back with the Japanese troops the Sergeant spots the PAVN soldier on the roof, turning to his machine gunner he orders him to make his way into a garage building that was diagonal from where the Vietnamese were and sets up his Type 99 there for covering fire.
With the rest of his men they advance towards where the Vietnamese soldiers were and when they come within range the IJA Sergeant takes his Type 99 grenade, pulling the pin and priming it he hurls it towards the Vietnamese soldiers at the front of the shop.
Hearing something land near him one of the PAVN soldiers spots the grenade. ''Lựu đạn!'' The PAVN soldier shouts before he jumps onto it as it detonates sending his body smashing against the wall with a sickening crunch.
Imperial Japanese Army: 5 - People's Army of Vietnam: 4
''Cái quái gì thế?'' The confused PAVN Sergeant shouts and before he can assess the situation the IJA soldier armed with the Type 99 machine gun opens fire on them prompting him and his other soldier to take cover in the building.
The other Japanese soldier also open fire with their Type 100s and Arisakas and hearing the commotion, the PAVN soldier armed with the RPD quickly loads his weapon, looking through the iron sights be spots the Japanese soldiers down the street and with a squeeze of the trigger the RPD roars to life and alongside his comrade on the roof with the MAS-36 pins the Japanese in place.
One of the IJA soldiers who tried to be brave by charging the Vietnamese is unlucky as multiple rounds from the RPD riddles his body sending him falling to the ground a bloodied mess.
Imperial Japanese Army: 4 - People's Army of Vietnam: 4
''Suru yūki ga nakunaru!'' The IJA Sergeant screamed before he takes his Arisaka, looking at his remaining men he nods and they all get up from their position and begin charging the Vietnamese soldiers.
Hearing his comrades' battle cries the IJA machine gunner aims at the window where the PAVN RPD gunner was and sends a heavy salvo of lead. The PAVN RPD gunner never knew hit him as a literal rainstorm of 7.7x58 Arisaka rounds shot through the wall and completely shredded his body before the last round blows his head right off.
Imperial Japanese Army: 4 - People's Army of Vietnam: 3
The PAVN Sergeant, hearing that his RPD gunner stopped firing knew that he lost another man, nodding to his Corporal the two of them then peak out of their cover and open fire on the IJA soldiers as they continued to charge their position.
The PAVN Corporal manages to shoot a Japanese soldier through the nose and out the back of his skull with his MAT-49 dropping the Japanese infantryman where he stood.
Imperial Japanese Army: 3 - People's Army of Vietnam: 3
Despite losing another man the remaining Japanese troops continue their charge and before the PAVN soldiers could react the Japanese were already in the shop and in the ensuing chaos two of the Japanese soldier jump the PAVN Corporal.
One of them tackles the Vietnamese soldier to the ground, with his comrade holding the man in place the other IJA soldier takes his Arisaka and wastes no time in putting a round through the PAVN Corporal's skull obliterating the back of his head.
Imperial Japanese Army: 3 - People's Army of Vietnam: 2
At the same time the PAVN Sergeant had managed to shove the IJA Sergeant off of him and quickly raised his Makarov PM, seeing their Sergeant in peril the other two IJA soldiers came charging to help their leader but one of the is shot through the heart sending him falling while running.
Imperial Japanese Army: 2 - People's Army of Vietnam: 2
''Di nào!'' A voice called out.
Turning towards the sound of the voice the PAVN Sergeant spots his last man motioning for him to follow. Nodding he and his last man run off out of the building and takes to the streets of Hanoi.
The remaining IJA Private helps his Sergeant up. The two look to one another and nod before they both charge out the door looking for their Vietnamese adversaries. Heading out into the street they spot the Vietnamese soldiers a block away and run after them.
The IJA Sergeant takes his Type 100 and opens fire on the Vietnamese soldiers as they turn a corner and manages to hit the PAVN soldier in the back making him fall to the floor in pain.
Running up to their wounded enemy they see him attempting to crawl away, smirking sadistically the IJA Private takes his Nambu and walks over to the Vietnamese soldier and puts a hand on his shoulder. Turning him around he was about to fire his pistol only to see an F-1 grenade in his enemy's hands.
The PAVN soldier self-sacrificed himself and the F-1 detonates killing him in an explosion that sends the IJA Private flying into a light pole with an audible snap.
Imperial Japanese Army: 2 - People's Army of Vietnam: 1
The blast knocked the IJA Sergeant on his behind and as the smoke clears he gets up and rushes over to his last man to check him. He was gone, the force of colliding with the light pole had snapped his neck.
Imperial Japanese Army: 1 - People's Army of Vietnam: 1
Shaking his head, the IJA Sergeant grabs his soldier's Nambu and proceeds to chase after the last Vietnamese soldier. Making his way down the ruined streets of Hanoi he spots a figure moving into a small restaurant, knowing that it is his enemy the Japanese soldier rushes over.
Making his way into the restaurant he finds it empty. Slowly making his way in he holds in Nambu out protectively in front of him and inches his way further into the building.
Just as he walks into another room a gunshot rings out prompting him to jump behind a column for cover. Looking at where he just was he saw a bullet hole in the wall inches away from where his head was. Peeking out behind cover he sees the PAVN Sergeant positioned behind a column of his own, he points his Nambu out and fires back.
The PAVN Sergeant returns fire as well until his Makarov clicks empty.
Noticing his enemy's shooting stop the IJA Sergeant draws his Gunto and quickly charges his enemy's position.
Grunting in annoyance he discards his pistol and unslings his MAS-36 which his last soldier handed to him only to hear yelling coming from his left. Looking up he spots the IJA Sergeant with his sword raised high above his head.
''BANZAI!'' The IJA Sergeant cried out as he brings the Gunto downward only to miss as the Vietnamese soldier jumps out of the way. The Vietnamese soldier draws his 6H2 bayonet and the two Sergeants then circle each other.
The Japanese soldier would strike first with a forward thrust hoping his blade's superior length would allow him to impale the PAVN Sergeant but the Vietnamese soldier sidesteps quickly and grabs the Japanese soldier by both his wrists.
Holding him in place the Vietnamese soldier then stabs the IJA soldier several times in the sides. Crying out in pain the IJA soldier summons the energy to backhand the PAVN soldier sending the man reeling back clutching his chin.
With this opening the IJA soldier then goes in for a slash with his sword but sadly the PAVN soldier sucked in his gut just enough to where the Gunto only left a moderate gash across his stomach.
The IJA soldier capitalizes by bringing his sword back and slices the PAVN soldier across the face sending the man falling onto his knees in pain.
Filled with sudden bravado, the IJA soldier smiles in glee before placing his sword against the Vietnamese soldier's neck.
"Betonamu wa Nihon no tōsei o ukete iru." He says in a condescending tone.
Then he raises his Gunto high to finish his adversary off with a decapitation.
The PAVN soldier then springs up and taking his bayonet, thrusts it into the Japanese soldier's gut and stabs him viciously several times before letting go. Gasping in pain and shock, the IJA soldier drops his sword and clutches his bleeding stomach before falling onto his knees himself. Taking his hands off his wound he gasps in terror seeing how much blood coated his hand.
Then, he sees a shadow loom over him, looking he sees the barrel of the PAVN soldier's MAS-36 pointed directly at his forehead.
''"Bạn Nhật cần phải có được địa ngục ra khỏi đất nước của chúng tôi." The PAVN Sergeant spat.
With a squeeze of the trigger, the Vietnamese soldier fires his rifle sending a single 7.5x54mm cartridge straight through the Japanese soldier's skull completely blowing a gaping hole in his back of his head painting the floor red.
Imperial Japanese Army: 0 - People's Army of Vietnam: 1
The IJA soldier's lifeless corpse slumps over dead as the blood from the hole in his head slowly bleeds. His enemy defeated, the PAVN Sergeant raises his rifle into the air and shouts. ''Đối với Hồ Chí Minh! ''

Following a vicious back and forth battle between 20th century Asia's most dangerous armies, it would be the People's Army of Vietnam who proved their superiority. It was thanks to their better close range weapon and light machine gun that won the battle for them earning 51.4% of the wins. The Imperial Japanese Army proved to be the most serious threat they've ever faced as they won 48.6% thanks to their better melee weapon and superior rifleman skills with their Type 99 Arisaka.
''Wow! What an awesome battle!'' Exclaimed Geoff, ''What ultimately tipped the battle in the PAVN's favor was the fact that their RPD was much more reliable and carried more rounds, a little thing that can affect the outcome more than you think despite these two being evenly matched in all other categories.''
''In the end, the superior light machine gun won the battle for them. The IJA was close though thanks to their better marksman.'' Dorian added.
''In this battle between our most hated enemies, the one who won their war and with the more powerful and robust weaponry proved they were superior. Congratulations PAVN, you are this season's deadliest army.'' Barry concluded.
(The PAVN Sergeant is seen exiting out of the restaurant, still aching from that grueling battle he hears something in the sky and looks up to see VPAF aircraft flying over head. Smiling, he heads off to find a working radio so he can contact his generals to devise a campaign that will completely repel the invading Japanese forces so they can retake Hanoi as well as the entire country itself and hopefully take them to Japan.)

Next time on back for blood. Season two's most vicious and dangerous criminal organizations confront each other for control of the streets.
Yakuza: Cruel warlords of Japan's criminal underworld who's influence spreads worldwide.
vs.
Russian Bratva: Mother Russia's cold-blooded thugs whose ruthlessness and brutality make them feared across the globe.
WHO IS DEADLIEST?!
Here you go guys, the translations in order that they appear for each side.
Translation for PAVN: ''Grenade!'', ''What the hell?!'', ''Let's go!", ''You Japanese must get the hell out of our country.'', "For Ho Chi Minh!"
Translation for IJA: ''Man down!", "Vietnam will be subjected to Japanese rule."
Author's note: Well, I hope you all enjoyed watching two of America's most hated enemies go at it for supremacy. Some might be questioning why the PAVN even have MAT-49s or even the MAS-36, well they picked it up from the French during the First Indochina war and in the earlier stages of the Vietnam war they used them to an extent, it was also so they didn't have an unfair advantage over the Japanese with their Type 56s and RPG-2s. So anyway, don't forget to fave, follow and review warriors! Until next time!
