A/N: Now before we begin this fight, I have to say this was a very difficult battle to resolve due to the closeness of the weapons and how these two leaders are dawning the same exact armor. Ultimately I based my decision on their weapon's performance against each other's armor and had a bit of additional insight from other DW authors who've told me who they thought would win in their own personal opinions such as DeadAliveManiac, Zivon96, Metal Harbinger and MKDemigodZ-Warrior (Who by the way will upload his own DW soon and when he does you should totally check it out.) In the end though, the winner of this fight I can say I am extremely satisfied with and I hope you all enjoy. (Lastly, please don't PM me stupid questions asking me things in this episode because it clearly shows you haven't read it if you ask me what something means or if I have to remind you.)

Richard the Lionheart: The English King who crushed every army that stood before him during the Third Crusade.

(Richard and his Crusaders engage an army led by Saladin during Hattin. Richard grabs a Saracen by the neck and forces his broadsword through his throat.)

vs.

El Cid: The Castilian general whose brilliant battle tactics continued to lead men into battle even after death.

(El Cid charges a Moor soldier with his Colada and runs him through with it before swinging his Tizona and slices clean through another.)

WHO IS DEADLIEST?

To find out, we've assembled a team of world class fighters to test history's most lethal weapons. Using 21st century science, we'll see what happens when two warriors go toe to toe.

No rules. No safety. No mercy. It's a duel to the death to decide who is...THE DEADLIEST WARRIOR!

During their last battles both generals were soundly defeated by their respective adversaries...

(Richard places a hand on Timur's shoulder to turn him around only for the warlord to fire an arrow into his chin. He twitches sporadically before Timur uppercuts him in the chin sending the arrow deeper into his skull getting his brain and killing him.)

...but now, both these men will be given a chance at redemption and face off for the title of deadliest warrior!

(El Cid raises his Colada to finish off the wounded Pratap. He gasps in surprise as Pratap thrusts the katar into his gut. The Rajput general twists it violently before stabbing him in the stomach again and before taking his arm off. El Cid is then decapitated by the scissor katar.)

Here in our elite fight club we have gathered doctors, medical scientists and weapons experts to test out the lethal arsenals wielded by each of our combatants to determine who would win a fight between two famous medieval generals.

''We couldn't ask for a better match to end the general section of redemption.'' Barry spoke in pure excitement, ''These two generals faced adversaries from the east and it didn't end well for them. On one end we have Richard the Lionheart who was the man who combated Saladin in the Third Crusade and motivated by God. Then there is El Cid who was the famous Castilian general whose brilliant battle tactics would lead his men to victory even after he died.''

''The age as usual will be a factor. Richard is younger at 34 and despite that being middle-age, he is on an intense quest and he was fighting in a harsher climate. Then you have El Cid and the guy is nearing 60.'' Dorian explained.

''The weapons and armor these two wielded are fairly similar. I think it's those subtle differences that will lead to one of them winning and the other losing.'' Geoff added.

''This will indeed be an interesting battle. I can't wait to see it unfold so let's get this started.'' Barry said as they all get up.

The English King rode into battle with an arsenal that assisted him during his crusade.

Short Range: Broadsword

Mid-Range: Bill

Long Range: Composite Crossbow

Special: Falchion

And for El Cid, he carried a deadly assortment of weaponry which spilled the blood of many Moors.

Short Range: Colada

Mid-Range: Tizona

Long Range: Crossbow

Special: Misericorde

For short range weapons both generals used similar swords capable of hacking, slashing and decapitating anyone who dare challenged them. Richard the Lionheart with his broadsword and El Cid with his Colada.

The team reviews the testing of both weapons in action and as usual they will test each blade against the opposing armor.

El Cid expert Franco Matias stands ready with his Colada in hand. He will attack a torso outfitted in the armor of Richard the Lionheart.

''The test is self-explanatory Franco, 15 seconds to see what damage you can do against the armor and the helmet.'' Geoff explained.

Franco nods and gets into position.

''On 3...2...1...En guard!'' Geoff calls out.

Franco fluidly thrusts his sword into the hauberk going clean through it spraying stage blood. Pulling his sword out he follows up with a thrust into the throat. He then brings his sword and with a battle cry brings the sword down onto the coif with all his might. The blade colliding with the coif with a clang causing the panel and Richard the Lionheart expert Aaron Blair to flinch.

''Argh..Time!'' Geoff called out with clenched teeth.

''Damn that honestly hurt.'' Barry said rubbing his ear as he, Geoff and Dorian walk over to assess the damage.

''The first thrust you did Franco you easily pierced the armor and got him in the heart and actually managed to cut into his spine. The heart part would be a kill itself and the severing of the spinal cord would've paralyzed him leaving the man completely open. For the second thrust into the throat you cut through the trachea and the neck. That's a kill and finally for the coif we picked up over 93 PSI of force.''

Dorian goes to remove the coif and there it is, a skull fracture.

''Low and behold gents, we have a skull fracture which is a confirmed kill.'' Dorian concluded.

''With my broadsword your helmet will fail and not to mention I have more options with it.'' Richard the Lionheart expert Aaron Blair spoke up, unimpressed by the colada's performance.

Now it's Aaron's turn, he will attack a torso outfitted in El Cid's hauberk and steel helmet.

''Okay Aaron it's the same deal with you. 15 seconds to showcase what that weapon can do to the armor and helmet so on 3...2...1...Hack em' up!''

''GO TO BLOODY HELL YOU CASTILIAN BASTARD!'' Aaron shouts out as he swings his broadsword at the hauberk. The broadsword impacts the chainmail sending an echo of steel colliding with steel throughout the fight club. Rearing back for another attack he grabs the torso by the shoulder and forces his broadsword deep into it's gut. The blade protruding from the other end. Yanking his sword out Aaron then swings the broadsword sideways connecting with the helmet knocking it off of the torso's head.

''Time!" Geoff said.

The team then makes their way over to check the damage.

''First and foremost. Aaron your swing to the broadsword did generate enough force to break a rib, but it won't kill him. Your second attack with the thrust got him through the gut. It will kill him within minutes because of the amount of bleeding he'll suffer from. Lastly your swing to the helmet did not generate enough force to fracture his skull it was only 30 PSI.'' Dorian explained.

''If you wasted your time trying to bludgeon me to death with that sword I'll just take your head off and be done with it.'' Franco said.

''Says the guy who only thrusted into the armor.'' Aaron shot back.

''Well that's how you get through chainmail. Why would I waste my time trying to bludgeon it with a sword?'' Franco snarled back.

After testing both swords against the opposing armor, which one do our experts believe takes the edge?

''This is a really hard decision to make. Both are similar in design and length and can cause equal amount of damage on a person. The Colada is a tad bit longer and...screw it I'm calling this even.'' Geoff started, completely unsure of himself.

''There really isn't much difference with these two blades besides the length. In the end I will have to give it to the Colada for better results against the helmet.'' Dorian added.

''I totally agree with what you both have said. You present compelling arguments and I'm also calling this one even because they are just too similar to each other. One hits with a lot more power while the other is lighter allowing for faster movement.'' Concluded Barry.

In short range weapons, it's an even match-up.

For mid-range weapons both used completely different means to kill their enemies.

The team reviews the testing of the Tizona and Bill in their respective episodes and once again bring the experts in to test their weapons against the opposing armor.

Franco stands ready with a Tizona replica in hand.

''You know the drill Franco, cuts and stabs into the armor got it?'' Geoff said.

Franco nods and gets into position. With a nod from Geoff, Franco thrusts the Tizona into the chainmail going all the way through with blood leaking from underneath the pig.

''Damn, you can hear the flesh being ripped through there.'' Barry commented.

Franco pull the sword out before rearing his Tizona in for a swing and with all his might swings the sword and it impacts the armor breaking away several chain links away as they clatter on the floor.

''Nice, that was freaking awesome!'' Geoff exclaimed in excitement.

''I'm very impressed with this sword and understand why it was so famous. Your first thrust got him through in the intestines. Now this won't kill but you are cutting his guts spilling some gunk into his system which will lead to a septic death. For your swing to managed to hit him with enough force to break 3 of his ribs which would be a very debilitating injury. It's not a kill but I'm still impressed regardless.'' Dorian explained.

Now it's Aaron's turn with the Bill.

''Same deal for you Aaron. Whenever you're ready.'' Geoff said.

Aaron nods and turning to face his target he thrusts the Bill into the chainmail, the spike going clean through as Aaron forces it in deeper. The Bill scissors it's past the chainmail breaking several links away. Aaron then pulls his weapon out before delivering one last stab into the torso's heart with a sickening squishy noise before pulling it out.

''Looks like that'll do there.'' Aaron said.

''This weapon never ceases to impress me either.'' Dorian said walking over, ''Your first thrust would've got him in the stomach and that alone would've killed him quick from the profuse bleeding and that last attack on the heart is self-explanatory.''

''That's what a polearm with multiple options allows me to do rather than some huge clunky sword.'' Aaron said cockily while looking at Franco who only shakes his head.

''Here's my argument against your weapon Aaron. I have more blade with mine which gives me more killing surface and you want to know something? I can just slice clean through that shaft of yours rendering your billhook useless.'' Spoke the Spaniard.

Both weapons have been tested against the opposing armor, which one do our experts believe takes the edge?

''The Tizona has more blade and will cut through the bill's shaft. It provides superb options as well.'' Geoff said explaining his opinion.

''The billhook made mince meat of Cid's armor but the Tizona has more options going for it. Not to mention the blunt force of it hitting Richard would probably be enough to incapacitate or even kill.'' Dorian added.

''It was able to strike Richard's armor with enough force to break three ribs and break away some of the chainmail. If he had struck exactly where the heart is it would've contused the heart and kill. It's longer blade alone gives it the edge." Barry concluded.

In mid-range weapons, the edge goes to El Cid for the Tizona.

Now moving on to long range weapons these two leaders brought with them two highly lethal and deadly crossbows.

The team now reviews the footage of the composite crossbow and El Cid's crossbow and after a lengthy discussion they finally come to a decision.

''I think I'm gonna call this one even because one crossbow has the faster reload and is lighter while the other fires with more power but takes a bit longer to reload. What do you guys think?'' Geoff said unsure of his edge.

''I actually agree with you there Geoff. I think it'll come down to which leader can get the first killshot with his crossbow wins the edge here.'' Dorian seconded.

''It'll all depend on the individual soldier wielding these crossbows. Though I do give a slight edge to Richard's for his faster and lighter composite crossbow.'' Barry concluded.

In long range weapons, our warriors are even.

Coming up, we look at the favored sidearms of both warriors and our battle between two relentless medieval generals begins!

XXXXXX

Now we conclude the weapons testing by reviewing the favored special weapons of these two military leaders. Richard's falchion and El Cid's misericorde.

The team reviews the testing of the misericorde and the falchion in their debuts and predict the damage potential they inflict on both bare flesh and armor and after a brief discussion our panel has finally come to an edge.

''The misericorde will have no problem getting through Richard's armor, however the falchion has a much bigger blade therefore it will cause worse damage on the body.'' Geoff said.

''The falchion will have no problem taking El Cid's head off. It's blade size alone gives it the edge.'' Dorian seconded.

Barry then takes both blades into his hand and holds them in front of his face for the other two to see. ''On the battlefield you'd usually want your weapon to do eighty-percent of the work for you. Which one sends a more intimidating message, just by looking at them?''

''In this case, size matters?'' Geoff asked.

''Size is definitely intimidating.'' Barry said with a smile as he sets the blades onto the table.

For special weapons, the edge goes to Richard the Lionheart for the falchion.

Moving onto armor, the team reviews both sets before they come to their decision.

''This is even, why? They are wearing the exact same armor and the only difference is that Richard has a shield.'' Geoff explained.

''Despite carrying a shield they are wearing the same thing and the weapons they carry will determine which one will fail it's wearer first.'' Dorian added.

''El Cid has an actual helmet while Richard has a mail coif, the armor is the same and one guy has a shield. No difference, it's even all the way through because they basically even each other out.'' Barry finished.

''I'm totally with you on that one.'' Geoff said as he and Dorian nod in agreement.

In the armor category, it's an even comparison.

Coming up! Barry will review the x-factors and our battle between El Cid and Richard the Lionheart will begin!

XXXXXX

Welcome back to the fight club. Here we tested four weapons wielded by two brilliant medieval military leaders.

For short range weapons, El Cid's Colada and Richard's broadsword performed equally well against the opposing armor and dealt equal damage.

''Both these swords performed very well against the opposing armor and did very similar damage against human flesh. They both can slash, stab and pretty much destroy anyone unfortunate enough to be cleaved by it.'' Geoff explained.

Edge: Even

For mid-range weapons, El Cid's Tizona proved deadlier and more versatile than Richard's bill.

''Since the Tizona has more blade to it that gives the sword more options and a larger surface area in which it can cause a kill. The Tizona can also slice clean through the bill's shaft rendering the weapon useless.''

Edge: El Cid

For mid-range weapons, both the composite crossbow and crossbow were determined to be equal.

''Both are pretty much the same weapons but the only difference between them is that the composite crossbow reloads faster while Cid's crossbow has more power behind it so it's pretty much even all the way.''

Edge: Even

For special weapons, Richard's falchion proved more damaging than El Cid's misericorde.

''The falchion has a much larger blade than the misericorde thus giving it more power in it's swing and causes more trauma on the human body. Desptie the misericorde being able to easily get into the chinks in your armor size matters almost all the time.''

Edge: Richard the Lionheart

And finally, for the armor of both generals both were determined to be equally protective.

''Both men are wearing the same chainmail hauberk and while Richard is carrying a shield I don't think it'll last long against the Tizona's powerful swings. El Cid is also wearing a helmet which basically evens everything out between them.'' Geoff concluded.

Edge: Even

Now, Barry will gauge the x-factors of both leaders.

''And now I review the x-factors.'' Barry said taking a seat in front of the simulator.

''First and always is generalship and El Cid had an 85 to Richard's 72.''

''For physicality Richard had an 85 to El Cid's 80 and this is due to the age difference between them.''

''Third is strategy and El Cid had a 90 to Richard's 79.''

''For fourth is logistics and El Cid takes it with a 88 to Richard's 74 because Cid had an entire nation of supplies before him whereas Richard ran out of food and water quickly during his Crusade.''

''Then there is troop discipline and El Cid scored an 88 to Richard's 85.''

''And last but not least we have endurance and we gave this to Richard because it's just like physicality. He is younger and in his prime compared to Cid. So he has an 89 to El Cid's 80.''

Our team has finished reviewing the weapons and gauging the x-factors. Barry will now run the simulator 1,000 times in a battle to the death.

El Cid will lead 4 of his Castilian knights into battle and Richard will lead 4 his English knights. All soldiers will dawn the same armor as their leaders.

''Let's see which general will redeem himself.'' Barry said pressing the buttonm.

The battle takes us to a bog in England heavily blanketed by fog. It is a quiet night and from the fog emerges a figure. The figure is none other than the Castilian nobleman El Cid and four of his most trusted knights have been sent to this foreign land by Alfonso to stop an impending invasion.

El Cid: 5

Elsewhere in the bog, another figure emerges from the eerie setting, this time we see Richard the Lionheart and four of his English knights scouting the area. He has heard rumors of a force from the Iberian peninsula making it's way into England and he was determined to stop it.

Richard the Lionheart: 5

Hearing the sound of footsteps in the wet ground, El Cid orders his men to halt and squints his eyes and looks on ahead. Seeing the outline of five shadows Cid orders his two crossbowmen to ready their weapons.

Turning to his two foot soldiers he orders them to draw their misericorde daggers. Hearing the commotion, Richard turns to his crossbowmen ordering them to fire their already loaded bolts at the source of the noise.

They comply and aim their crossbows and fire. At the same time El Cid had given the order to fire but one man is struck in the throat from a bolt and he chokes onto the piercing bolt whilst struggling to pull it out.

After a few seconds he collapses.

El Cid: 4 - Richard the Lionheart: 5

Grunting in anger, Cid orders his other crossbowman to fire which he does. As one of Richard's crossbowman goes to reload his weapon the bolt fired from the Castilian soars straight at him.

Just as he loads his next bolt he goes to aim it but is killed when the Castilian's bolt gets into his eye killing him instantly.

El Cid: 4 - Richard the Lionheart: 4

Just the sight of one of his men dying prompts Richard to draw his broadsword and shouts at his remaining men to charge. They all draw their weapons before charging full force with battle cries at the Castilians.

Hearing the echoing of the cries, El Cid leads his men forth and from the fog both sides emerge in the middle of the wet and muddy bog. The two groups meet in the clearing and one Castilian goes for an English knight armed with a Bill.

The Englishman goes for a thrust with the polearm but the Castilian jumps to the side and quickly raises his foot stomping the weapon into the ground.

He then takes the chance to bring his misericorde and thrusts it into the English knight's throat, the man gagging before going limp.

El Cid: 4 - Richard the Lionheart: 3

Elsewhere another Castilian knight tries to tangle with another Englishman with a Bill but his attempts are futile as the Englishman brings his Bill low and sweeps the Castilian off his feet.

The English knight then brings his Bill's spike and thrusts it downward, the spike piercing clean through the Castilian's armor and getting his heart. The man screams before he is forever silenced.

El Cid: 3 - Richard the Lionheart: 3

El Cid casually walks up to the Englishman and with one mighty swing of his Tizona, sends the man flying with enough force to fracture most of the ribs on his right side.

The man gasps in pain before El Cid walks over and with his Colada thrusts into the man's open mouth killing him.

El Cid: 3 - Richard the Lionheart: 2

At the same time the other two Castilian knights are seen duking it out with Richard and his last knight. One of the Castilians tries to grab Richard from behind to his cohort and kill him but Richard backhands him and rushes him quickly and with one swing of the broadsword, sends the Castilian's head flying several meters away.

The headless corpse twitching a bit before Richard kicks it over.

El Cid: 2 - Richard the Lionheart: 2

Angered at the sight of his comrade dying, the other Castilian out of anger charges towards Richard with his misericorde in hand. Richard turns to face the Castilian but not before his last knight tackles the Castilian away in time.

The English knight headbutts the Castilian breaking his nose and stunning him, raising his falchion he brings it down and the blade digs into the man's face from the crown of his skull down to his nose.

El Cid: 1 - Richard the Lionheart: 2

Rising up from the body, the English knight looks up to see El Cid swinging his Tizona and half his head is horizontally chopped in half. El Cid shoves the corpse aside before confronting Richard.

El Cid: 1 - Richard the Lionheart: 1

The two generals eye each wearily, Richard scoops up a shield off the back of one of his dead man before holding it protectively in front of him. Richard would be the first to move and with a ferocious cry, charges El Cid.

With the Tizona, the nobleman swings it and the force sends Richard staggering sideways, almost tripping. El Cid lashes forward with his Tizona and brings it in an overhead chop and slams it onto Richard's upperback sending some chain-links flying off.

Screaming at the sudden pain, Richard responds by turning around and backhands the Castilian with his shield. The blow knocks El Cid's Tizona aside creating an opening.

Richard follows suit with a flurry of swings that sees Cid getting sliced on the forehead and follows up with another that knocks his helmet off. El Cid manages to raise his Tizona and parries the broadsword.

Quicky swinging the Tizona upwards, he hits the broadsword upwards creating an opening and quickly as he could, he takes his Colada and thrusts it into Richard's body.

The blade cutting deep into his side before pulling it out and Richard staggers backwards clutching the wound. Getting up, El Cid then loads up for a swing with the Tizona and the sword connects with Richard's side.

The blow was powerful enough to send Richard flying to the ground in pain screaming. Following suit El Cid then thrusts the Tizona downwards but Richard summons the energy to lift his shield up and intercepts the attack.

Richard then thrusts upward with the broadsword and cuts into El Cid's side. Grunting in pain, El Cid reaches with his free hand and grabs the English King's sword by the guard.

The two of them pull back and forth trying to get control of the sword. Richard then quickly shoves his sword forward at the Castilian and the sword cuts into Cid's palm.

Pulling his hand back Cid backs away a few feet. With that Richard gets up and raises the broadsword and charges towards the nobleman. Seeing this, El Cid then loads up for a powerful swing.

Too into his moment to notice the Tizona it impacts his shield with enough force to break a bone in his arm while in the process sending his shield sideways leaving him open. El Cid takes his Colada and proceeds to ram it into Richard's gut.

Yelping in surprise, Richard hyperventilates before coughing up blood. Not satisfied, El Cid twists the blade extremely violently before forcing it in even further.

Screaming at the top of his lungs in pain, Richard can only look on helplessly as Cid withdraws his blade and his world turns black when the Castilian general raises his Colada high and plunges it down onto the English King's skull with a crunch. His mail coif doing nothing to protect him.

El Cid: 1 - Richard the Lionheart: 0

His opponent motionless in front of him, El Cid pulls his Colada out of the fallen King's skull and watches as the corpse falls over.

Raising his swords into the air the Castilian yells ''El Tizona!'' in victory.

Following a battle between two medieval generals. El Cid emerges victorious in a close contest with him claiming 53.7% compared to Richard's 46.3%. It was thanks to his superior strategy and his Tizona which hacked clean through Richard. Richard did not go down without a fight as he brought a comparable short range weapon and his falchion, while being more damaging than the misericorde was outperformed in the end.

''El Cid had the better weapons, better strategy compared to Richard and also a much superior leader.'' Geoff commented.

''Despite his Bill being his most effective weapon, if El Cid slices the shaft in half it's completely useless. He wasn't as good a leader as the Castilian.'' Dorian added.

''Richard is an excellent fighting King no doubt about that but against a superior leader and strategist like El Cid he just couldn't stack up. Congrats to the Castilian general for earning the title of deadliest warrior.'' Barry concluded.

(El Cid walks out of the foggy bog and spots Richard's castle. He smiles knowing it is his for the taking. He walks off with Richard's broadsword in hand.)
