A/N: This is another heavily debated battle among me and my Deadliest Historical Nerds group. Both these warriors have had people fiercely backing each up with excellent arguments which tipped the scale in favor of both to the point where it was a draw in regards to debating who wins between these two. So I decided that I will side with who my instincts believe is the winner (which is what I do anyways it's my decision). So here it is, the battle between the warriors of the Crusades against the Ottoman Empire's elite cavalry!

XXXXXX

Knights Templar: Christianity's most elite warriors who used fear and terror to spread the Christian belief.

(A group of knights charge towards an army of Ayyubids during the battle of Montgisard. One knight proceeds to run one of the Islamic warriors through with his broadsword while another impales one with his lance.)

vs.

Ottoman Sipahi: The elite cavalry warriors of the Ottoman empire who annihilated their foes with frontal assaults and hit and run tactics.

(A Sipahi battle formation is seen charging forth towards an army of Hungarians and completely break their battle formation. Several stragglers are seen being cut down as others are impaled with lances.)

WHO IS DEADLIEST?

To find out, we've assembled a team of world class fighters to test history's most lethal weapons. Using 21st century science, we'll see what happens when two warriors go toe to toe.

No rules. No safety. No mercy. It's a duel to the death to decide who is...THE DEADLIEST WARRIOR!

During their last battles both warriors were defeated by their respective opponents...

(The knight templar is slashed across the face from the sohei's naginata. He falls to his knees before a piece of his head is chopped off from the naginata.)

...but now, each warrior will be given a chance for redemption and will face off in a confrontation for the title of deadliest ancient warrior.

(The Sipahi is impaled in the gut from the Hussar's kopia lance causing him to gasp in pain while he grabs a hold of the lance but he is decapitated as the Hussar rides by him with his szabla.)

Here in our elite fight club we have gathered doctors, medical scientists and weapons experts to test out the lethal arsenals wielded by each of our combatants to determine who would win a fight between two famous cavalry forces.

''Today is a battle between two awesome and feared warriors from their times.'' Barry started off, ''We have an all out cavalry battle. I wonder who will win between these two?''

''The knights templar are definitely going to be confronting opponents unlike they have ever seen. We've featured him before in a one versus one but this time it will be a 5-on-5 battle for obvious reasons.'' Geoff added.

''The armor and the weapons these two are bringing are amazing as well. Both are specialized cavalry forces and I can't even choose a side in this.'' Dorian said.

''We've got plenty of weapons data to review. Let's begin.'' Barry concluded.

The fierce Crusaders charged into battle with weapons that painted the Holy Lands with the blood of their enemies.

Short Range: Broadsword

Mid-Range: Crusader's Lance

Long Range: Crossbow

Special: Flail

And for the Turkish cavalry, they rode into battle and slayed their enemies with the best weapons the Ottoman Empire had to offer.

Short Range: Kilij

Mid-Range: Lance

Long Range: Tartar Recurve Bow

Special: Gurz

When the battle was up close, both wielded swords of different designs to hack and slash their enemies. The Knights Templars' broadsword and the Ottoman Sipahis' kilij.

The team now reviews the testing of both the broadsword and the kilij in their debut episodes. After that the team comes to a debate. Let's see what they say.

''We've seen the kilij tested on foot and horseback. Now we just need to see the broadsword in action.'' Geoff said.

Knights templar expert Winston Gloucester rides up with his broadsword.

''Alright Winson, we've seen the broadsword on foot, so let's see what it can do off horseback. Over there you have one unarmored torso and an armored torso clad in the Ottoman warrior cuirass. One ride by two kills.'' Geoff explained.

Winston nodded and got into position.

''On 3...2...1...Charge!'' Geoff yells out

'C'mon, c'mon.'' Winston said to his horse as it gallops forward. He raises his broadsword just as he approaches the first target and with a swing cuts deep into the torso's neck, the head hanging by a thin layer of skin. Riding towards his armored target he swings his sword again, the blade slicing through the target's face slicing half of the head off, Winston lets out a laugh as he rides away.

''Wow, I'm actually impressed by it's performance.'' Barry said.

The team then walks over to assess the damage.

''I'm surprised because I didn't think the broadsword would've been that good off horseback. Your first target took that sword to his neck and you sliced almost completely through his neck which would result in an instant kill, hell even his neck bones are fractured.'' Dorian explained.

''That's the broadsword for you, a bone breaker.'' Winston added with a smirk.

''Touche.'' Geoff said.

''Say hello to Pac-Man over here guys.'' Dorian said picking up the torso's head, ''This guy would literally be screaming as that sword flies straight through his head and cuts it literally in half. It's a guillotine by horse.''

The team then reviews the testing of the kilij in it's various appearances. After a long and lengthy debate the experts still cannot come to a conclusion.

''Honestly if I had to choose one I'd give it to the kilij because since this is a primarily cavalry fight it goes best with it. So edge kilij.'' Geoff said.

''I'll give this to the kilij as well. It's a primarily horse battle and it automatically gets the edge. I think it hits the target with a lot more force. Edge kilij.'' Dorian added.

''I wanted to give the broadsword the edge but since the kilij is at it's prime on horseback I give it the edge.'' Barry concluded.

In short range weapons, the edge goes to the Ottoman Sipahi for the kilij.

For mid-range weapons both warriors used equally lethal lances to impale any unlucky adversary.

The panel reviews the testing of both lances in action and after another lengthy debate they finally come to a conclusion.

''I'm calling this even, they both are essentially the same weapon and whoever hits the other guy first wins the match.'' Geoff started off.

''I can see both lances piercing each other's armor. So for that and similar tips I give this edge as even.'' Dorian seconded.

''They both can literally gallop towards each other and raise their lances to try and get a kill but what if they both lift their respective shields up at the same time? Draw.'' Barry added.

In mid-range weapons, our warriors are even.

For long range weapons both warriors used two different types of bows to take their enemies down.

The panel reviews the testing of both the crossbow and the Tartar recurve bow. After a few exchange of words they come to a conclusion.

''This is an easy one, the Tartar's faster reload time and superior use off horseback automatically gives it the edge, not much else needs to be said.'' Geoff said.

''The crossbow is completely out of it's element on horseback, edge Tartar recurve bow.'' Dorian added.

''As much as I like the crossbow for having power behind it, I simply have to give the edge to the bow because of it's ease of use off horseback.'' Barry concluded.

In long range weapons, the edge goes to the Ottoman Sipahi for the Tartar recurve bow.

After the break! We review the preferred special weapons of our warriors and then later our battle between two famous warriors begins!

XXXXXX

Now we move on to the special weapons wielded by our warriors.

The team reviews the testing of the flail and gurz in their respective debuts. Having seen the gurz off horseback the team decides to test the flail.

Expert Winston rides up to panel with flail in hand.

''Alright Winston, as with your broadsword test we will have you attack a torso clad in the Ottoman's warrior cuirass. Whenever you're ready.'' Geoff explained.

Winston nods and whinnies his horse forward. The stallion gets into a full gallop as Winston spins his flail around. Approaching the enemy horse he swings with all his might and impacts the target dead center in it's chest with enough force to knock it off the horse landing on the ground with a sickening crack.

''Damn, that freaking sucks.'' Geoff commented.

The team then walks over to the downed torso.

''Damn, look at his head, it's twisted at an angle too, so I'm assuming that he broke his neck from that fall. On further inspection in the area of the armor where you struck him you actually hit him with enough power to break maybe just one rib, the plates in the armor are doing their job. However as what I've said earlier if he does fall and break his neck, well that's self-explanatory.'' Dorian explained.

''Yeah...getting knocked off your horse with a chance of survival isn't the objective Winston, we're suppose to deliver death.'' Sipahi expert Osman Murad said arms crossed.

The team now takes the time to review the testing of the gurz from 'Ottoman Sipahi vs. Polish Winged Hussar'. After gauging it's damage capabilities and ability to be used from horseback it doesn't take long for them to come to a decision.

''While the flail causes severe trauma on the body, the fact that the knights themselves are in moral peril is enough to discredit it as an effective weapon to wield without any repercussions. For not presenting a hazard to the user the gurz takes the edge.'' Geoff started off.

''The gurz is easier to wield on horseback and on foot. It doesn't require winding up also which if the knights take their time doing that it leaves them open for attacks. Edge gurz.'' Dorian seconded.

''I want to like the flail, but the chance of hurting or even killing yourself is just too much to ignore. Edge gurz all the way.'' Barry said with a nod.

In special weapons, the edge goes to the Ottoman Sipahi for the gurz.

And now moving on to armor, the team physically compare both sets before they come to their decision.

''I'm torn on this one, they both are chainmail armor and they incorporate plates into it. The templars have a helmet and a good shield, then the Ottomans are carrying an equally good shield but have no helmet. I'm calling this even.'' Geoff started off.

''The similarities between these two armors are so striking. I'll call this even as well.'' Dorian seconded.

''We'll see which one protects the wearer more against the opposing warrior's weapons. Even.'' Barry concluded.

In the armor category, our warriors are even.

Coming up! Barry evaluates the x-factors and later our battle between two highly trained warriors begin!

XXXXXX

Welcome back to the fight club, here we tested the weapons used by two of history's most fierce cavalry warriors to decide who would win in a battle to the death!

For short range weapons, the Ottoman Sipahi's kilij proved more effective off horseback than the Knights Templar broadsword.

''The broadsword can easily lop of limbs, even break the bones within them and while it dominates of foot, it's out of it's league when things are taken to horseback. The kilij is both very effective on horseback and on foot.'' Geoff explained.

Edge: Ottoman Sipahi

For mid-range weapons, the lances of both these warriors proved to be highly and equally effective at impaling the competition.

''Since these two lances have similar lengths and similar heads we see them both piercing through each other's armor. It all depends on who's lance hits the other first.''

Edge: Even

For long range weapons, the Ottoman Sipahi's Tartar recurve bow proved better off horseback than the Knights Templar crossbow.

''Since the Tartar can be fired off horseback easier, faster and easier reload time it edges out the crossbow which has more power in it's bolts.''

Edge: Ottoman Sipahi

For special weapons, the Ottoman Sipahis' gurz proved more lethal at piercing armor than the Knights Templar flail.

''The gurz is easier to use off horseback and doesn't have the risk of harming or killing it's use which the flail is known for doing since you need to wind the thing up to gain maximum damage.''

Edge: Ottoman Sipahi

And finally, for armor both the Ottoman warrior cuirass and Knight Templars' chainmail w/plates, the Ottoman Kalkan shield and Templars' kite shield all proved to be equally protective of their wearers.

''Both are incorporating steel plates into their armor, have effective shields and they both can pierce each other's armor with their lances. The Crusaders and Ottoman's have one advantage each and that's the Templars' broadsword can bludgeon through the warrior cuirass while the Ottomans' gurz can effectively destroy the Templar's armor.'' Geoff concluded.

Edge: Even

And now, Barry will review the x-factors of each warrior.

''Okay, time to review x-factors.'' Barry said annoyed as he sits in front of his computer.

'First and always it's training and the Ottoman had a 95 to the templar's 91.''

''For endurance the templar had an 86 to the sipahi's 85.''

''Next was physicality and the templars have a 91 because they are bigger guys compared to the sipahi's 87.''

''For intimidation the sipahi has a 90 to the templar's 84.''

''Fifth is battlefield effectiveness and both will be rated a 90 each.''

''Last is killer instinct and the templars have an 86 while the sipahis will have an 84 because they killed everyone who didn't believe in God.''

Barry has finished gauging the x-factors of both warriors. Now he will input the data into the combat engine to determine who would win between two superb cavalry forces. Barry will run one-thousand simulated battles pitting 5 Knight Templars against 5 Ottoman Sipahi.

''Let's see who our deadliest defeated ancient warrior is.'' Barry said pressing the button.

XXXXXX

The battle begins around a large oasis in the deserts of what is modern-day Israel. The camera slowly pans to the left and in the distance we see five Knight Templars riding through the area.

They have been ordered by Baldwin the Leper King to halt an incoming invasion from the Ottoman empire to protect Jerusalem.

Knights Templar: 5

Meanwhile in the distance we see five Ottoman sipahi emerge. Under the command of Suleiman the Magnificent himself they are to be the first into Jerusalem and pave a way for a massive ground invasion Jerusalem to capture it and make it succumb to the might of their empire.

Ottoman Sipahi: 5

As they continue riding and seeing no current signs of trouble, the lead knight tells his men to begin heading home. Just as they turn to go home they hear the galloping of horses and the leader looks into the direction of the noise.

Off in the distance he spots the Ottomans galloping towards them with their bows already drawn. he shouts at his two crossbowman to ready their weapon and his lancer and second in command to charge forth as he draws his flail.

The two knight lancers unleash war cries as they charge forth, seeing this the two Ottoman archers release their arrows while the lancers charge forth. One knight unfortunately takes an arrow through the visor of his helmet in a nice one in a million shot and is knocked off his horse.

Knights Templar: 4 - Ottoman Sipahi: 5

At the same time the knight crossbowmen aim their weapons at the two Ottoman archers. They tickle the tickler and the bolts go flying straight at the Ottomans.

One Ottoman is struck in his throat while the other failed to raise his shield in time and his struck in the shoulder knocking him off his horse.

Knights Templar: 4 - Ottoman Sipahi: 4

The two Ottoman lancers gallop up to the templar lancer and they ride past each other. Before the knight can lower his to get his opponent he is impaled through his gut and his body flies off his horse, still attached to the Ottoman's lance.

He screams in pain trying in vain to free himself but the Ottoman halts his horse. With one swift motion he forces the lance deeper into the Crusader's body killing him.

Knights Templar: 3 - Ottoman Sipahi: 4

Letting the lance go and drawing his gurz, he turns to confront the knight leader. Hearing the sounds of galloping behind him, the knight templar leader turns and sees the Ottoman coming at him with his gurz in hand. Quickly turning his horse around he charges forth.

The two men gallop towards each other and as the knight comes close, he quickly winds up for a swing with the flail and quickly brings it and the spiked ball slams into the Ottoman's face.

Bones breaking and crunching is heard as the Ottoman's body slumps backwards.

Knights Templar: 3 - Ottoman Sipahi: 3

Riding away from the Ottoman's horse, the lead knight gallops toward his remaining men to rejoin the fight.

At the same time one of the templar lancers rides towards one of the Ottoman archers and before the Sipahi can aim and fire his bow, he is impaled through his face with a crunch. The knight riding away with the lance still in the Ottoman before the head is ripped from the body.

Knights Templar: 3 - Ottoman Sipahi: 2

Before he can let go of his lance, the Ottoman leader rides up with his gurz and swings it with enough force to smash the knight's skull through his helmet. Enough force having gone into the swing to send him flying away off his horse.

Knights Templar: 2 - Ottoman Sipahi: 2

In the center of the field, the other templar is seen clashing swords with the lead Sipahi. They ride away from each other before coming back to clash swords again, however unknown to the knight the other Sipahi is seen riding towards him with his gurz.

Deciding to bait the templar, the Ottoman leader rides away and the knight gives chase, just what he wanted. The other Ottoman then rides up in front of his leader and before the templar realizes his mistake, the gurz wielding Ottoman rides past his leader at blinding speed and smashes his chest with the gurz.

The force of the blow enough to contuse his heart and killing him almost instantly.

Knights Templar: 1 - Ottoman Sipahi: 2

Riding up to one of his fallen men, the last templar rides up to his lancers lance and quickly scoops it up as he rides by it. Turning to face the Ottomans he whinnies his horse forward.

Spotting the knight, the Ottoman with the gurz, feeling rather cocky charges forward with his gurz held high. The two of them ride closer to each other and the knight raises his lance at the last second and impales the Sipahi through his open mouth.

Knights Templar: 1 - Ottoman Sipahi: 1

Letting the lance go, he then sets his sights on the Ottoman leader who only watches his last soldier die, bringing his horse to a halt the knight draws his broadsword and points it at the Sipahi.

With a cry, both sides then whinnie their horses forward, swords drawn and the adrenaline courses through their systems. They come within arms reach of each other and swing their respective swords with all the strength they can muster.

The two swords clang against each other sending both warriors nearly falling off their horses. Recovering from that they then turn to face each other again and charge each other once more.

Again, they come within arm's reach and this time they both swing their swords into each other's chest and both are knocked off to the ground. Grunting in pain, the Ottoman gets up and quickly runs over to his horse to unstrapped his kalkan shield from it's side.

At the same time the templar recovers and picks up both his broadsword, shield and flail. The two warriors face each other before charging head on.

Both warriors meet by slamming their shields against each other and thanks to the knight's larger size he was able to send the Ottoman reeling backwards from the force of his tackle.

The Ottoman manages to quickly regain his footing from the attack and sees the knight charging towards him with him spinning his flail in hand. The knight comes within range and swings his flail hoping to strike the Ottoman across the face but the Ottoman raises his shield up just in time to intercept the blow.

With the flail's spiked ball end bouncing off his shield the Ottoman shoves the knight backwards hoping it would create an opening but it fails to do so.

So instead Ottoman swings his kilij and manages to strike the knight in his chest making him grunt in pain from the power of his swing. Clutching his side the knight jumps back avoiding another swing from the kilij and quickly draws his broadsword.

He watches as the Ottoman swings his kilij once again and this time he blocks the attack with his kite shield and shoves the Ottoman away sending the man stumbling backwards.

The force of the knight's shove was enough to send the Ottoman falling flat on his behind, looking up he sees the crusader thrusting his sword down straight at his face but he manages to roll out of the way just in time and gets back up on his two feet.

The knight, having anticipated this quickly brings his broadsword back up before it could hit the dirt and with quick reflexes backhands the Ottoman sending the kilij flying out from his grip.

The Ottoman absolutely did not expect this and before he could even register what happened the knight had already thrusted his broadsword into his gut. His armor doing nothing to protect him as the blade goes right through until the tip protrudes out of his back.

Hearing his opponent scream in pain the knight yanks his sword out with a sickening ''swick'' and kicks the wounded Ottoman to the ground.

Coughing up blood, the Ottoman helplessly looks on as the crusader stands tall over him with his flail now in hand. The crusader picks up the Ottoman and puts him on his knees.

He then winds up for a swing with his flail and after gaining enough momentum the crusader brings it down with so much force that the Ottoman's skull pops sending his brains flying everywhere.

Knights Templar: 1 - Ottoman Sipahi: 0

His opponent killed, the knight raises his flail into the air and roars in victory.

After a close battle between two of history's most fierce cavalry warriors it would be the Knights Templar who emerge the winners. Winning a total of 53.4% of the battles thanks to their harder hitting weapons and use at defeating cavalry. The Ottoman Sipahi weren't far behind however as they won over 46.6% of the battles. Thanks to their superior horseback weapons such as the kilij, tartar recurve bow and gurz allowed them to put up a serious challenge.

''The Crusaders won because even though they couldn't use the broadsword and crossbow as effectively off horseback, they were trained to defeat cavalry forces similar to the Sipahi and that's what took the game.'' Geoff explained.

''I thought the Ottoman's superior cavalry weapons would've won it for them. Guess I was wrong.'' Dorian commented.

''The Ottomans have fought various opponents, but they never encountered anyone like the Knights Templar. Congratulations to the Crusaders for earning the title of deadliest ancient warrior.'' Barry concluded.

(The surviving knight is seen riding away from the aftermath of the battle on his horse, strapped to the horse's side is the Ottoman's recurve bow and the kilij, new weapons he can give to his weapon makers for mass production and proof the Ottoman's are beatable.)
