WHO IS DEADLIEST?
To find out, we've assembled a team of world class fighters to test history's most lethal weapons. Using 21st century science, we'll see what happens when two warriors go head to head.
No rules. No safety. No mercy. It's a duel to the death to decide who is...THE DEADLIEST WARRIOR!
Here in our elite fight club we have gathered a panel of doctors, military historians, scientists, and weapons specialists to test out the lethal arsenals wielded by each of our combatants to determine who would win a fight between two volunteer military forces at the end of the 19th century.
Rough Riders
Circa: 1898
Height: 5'10''
Weight: 170 lbs.
Boer Commandos
Circa: 1899
Height: 5'9''
Weight: 160 lbs.
''Today is shaping up to be a very good fight gentlemen.'' Ancient history and weapons specialist DeadAliveManiac started off, ''Two well known military units from the end of the 19th century meet to prove who is deadliest when the Rough Riders, the U.S. Army's first volunteer cavalry unit meet the Boer Commandos from South Africa. This is one of the most anticipated matches of the season and I've been dying to see who wins in the end.''
''I gotta go with the Boer Commandos on this one.'' Medical expert Zivon96 said, ''While they may be guerrilla fighters and losing their war their tactics proved hellish for the British as they inflicted massive casualties on those tea sippers. I think guerrilla warfare will be completely alien to the Rough Riders as they won't know how to react to or counter it.''
''For me, I'm going with the Rough Riders this time. They are the better trained force, have better funding and won their war against Spain. I think the Boer Commandos are going to get another lesson on what happens when you fight a superior force.'' Weapons geek MKDemigodZ-Warrior countered.
''Since these warriors hail from the end of the 19th century we'll be seeing a lot of similar weapons from bolt-action rifles to crew served weapons. It's going to be a close fight so let's get this shit started.'' Modern warfare and weapons specialist PFC Rice Man concluded.
The Rough Riders was a nickname given to the 1st United States Volunteer Cavalry, one of three such regiments raised in 1898 for the Spanish–American War and the only one to see action. The United States Army was small, understaffed, and disorganized in comparison to its status during the American Civil War roughly thirty years prior.
''This unit was created by President Theodore Roosevelt and it gave everyone from all walks of life a chance to prove themselves from Harvard and Yale students, to your average cowboys and even Native Americans.'' Rice Man explained.
Following the sinking of the U.S.S Maine, President William McKinley needed to muster a strong military group swiftly, which was done so by calling upon 125,000 volunteers to assist in the war efforts.
''Thanks to Teddy's bravery and leadership, the Rough Riders were able to capture San Juan Hill and secure victory in the Spanish-American war leading America to become a world power. Even though they're a cavalry unit they ended up fighting as infantry which is why they were called Wood's Weary Walkers.'' Rice Man concluded.
The volunteer cavalry charges into battle with professional military-grade weapons that paved the way for America to become a world power.
Short Range: Bowie Knife
Mid-Range: Colt Single Action Army
Long Range: 1896 Krag Carbine
Special: Gatling Gun
Today however, how will the Rough Riders fare when they confront another volunteer unit who specialized in tactics alien to them?
In 1899, war was declared between the British Empire and the Afrikaans-speaking Boer republics in South Africa. Although the British had a larger, stronger army, the Boers formed groups of elite commandos and struck effectively at British targets using guerrilla warfare.
''Though they were clearly outclassed by the superior trained British forces, their guerrilla tactics proved to be devastating against Britain inflicting many casualties on their adversaries.'' Rice Man explained.
In manners reminiscent of the later Viet Cong and Taliban, the Boers would send out small squadrons of commandos to sabotage railroads or ambush British detachments. Unused to such tactics, the British adopted harsher measures. Boer civilians were moved into concentration camps, while likely targets, such as railroads, were watched constantly. Still the commandos persisted, but problems with supply and discipline ultimately cost them the war.
''Sure they lost the war but they left their mark on history as a deadly and effective fighting force. There's no doubt the Rough Riders are gonna be in for a rough time.'' Rice Man concluded.
The volunteer guerrillas rained hell upon British forces with the best weapons at the end of the 19th century.
Short Range: Pattern 1888 Sword Bayonet
Mid-Range: Mauser C96
Long Range: Mauser Model 1895
Special: Maxim Gun
Both warriors fought in trenches and when things got up close they relied on two damaging blades capable of the kill shot. However, since we've seen similar weapons in 'Hessians vs. Swedish Caroleans and 'Hells Angels vs. Russian Bratva' we will let the panel decide what to do next.
''I'm seeing similar damage being done with the Pattern 1888 and the regular Sword Bayonet that was wielded by the Hessians in their episode and the bowie knife used by the Rough Riders would be no different than the ones the Russian mafia used against the HAMC. In this comparison I'll give the edge to the bayonet for it's reach.'' DAM started off.
''I gotta go with the Bowie knife on this one because it isn't a cumbersome weapon to use by hand like the bayonet. Plus the Rough Riders are properly trained with their weapons which no doubt gives them an edge here.'' Zivon countered.
''For me, I give this to the bayonet for it's reach. Reach is almost always important when we compare bladed weapons.''
''Ya'll present very good arguments for both weapons, for me however, I'm giving this all to the bowie knife because like with Zivon said, the knife is less cumbersome and provides options in terms of slashing and stabbing giving the user more ways to kill. Edge to the bowie knife.'' Rice Man concluded.
In short range weapons, the edge goes to the Rough Riders for their Bowie Knife.
Coming up, we bring out the favored sidearms of our warriors and then later, it's a battle between two legendary bolt-action rifles.
XXXXXX
For mid-range weapons, both volunteer units were equipped with the most effective weapons available. Up first will be the Rough Riders with the iconic Colt Single Action Army revolver.
''The Colt Single Action Army, also known as the Single Action Army, SAA, Model P, Peacemaker, and M1873 is a single-action revolver with a revolving cylinder holding six metallic cartridges. It is one of the most used firearms in the history of the U.S. military, even up to world war 2. It fires the .45 Colt cartridge, weighs 2 pounds.'' Rough Riders Reenactor Teddy Roosevelt explained.
To test out the use of the Colt Single Action Army in the heat of battle, the panel has set up an entrenched position to simulate the late 19th century battlefield conditions our warriors faced. Teddy will fire 12 rounds from one sandbag position before advancing into the trench. He will have five targets total.
The expert gets into position just outside of the trench and waits for DAM to give the countdown.
With the go, the expert grabs his revolver and charges forth toward the first position and just as he leaps behind the bags a simulated artillery round goes off and while it spooked him at first, he quickly regained his bearings and aimed at the first target which was behind it's own sandbags. He fires off a round and misses but follows up with a shot that penetrates the target's face through the cheek. Smirking at his handiwork, he sets his sights on the next target which pops his head out of it's position and he wastes no time in putting it down with a shot right through the neck spurting blood everywhere. The third target, being on a zip-line proved to be a bit more of a challenge for him and he took his time to aim and fired off his last 3 shots but misses all of them. Undeterred, he goes to reload his weapon and then gets up to rush into the trench and is greeted by his fourth target while a simulated artillery round goes off but does not faze him and fires off 3 shots into it's gut before rushing up to the final entrenched torso and fires off the last shots into it's face.
''All done!'' shouted the expert.
''Your time is 3 minutes and 34 seconds, nice work!''
The panel then make their way over to assess the damage.
''Here we are with the first target and you know what? I'm amazed at the display of accuracy on your part because he wasn't all that exposed to danger but you managed to put a bullet straight through it's cheek and the exit wound shows me that it careens through the bottom of his skull a bit upward causing instant death, good work. The next target took one right through the jugular vein causing a rapid bleedout and if he doesn't get to a doctor right now, he'll exsanguinate to death.'' They then move on to the third target which remained unscathed. ''Sad to say, you missed and this guy lives to shoot you back. On to the fourth target you pumped his chest full of lead with two going to his lungs, two collapsed lungs mean and he'll eventually die if he doesn't get treated so I'll call this one an eventual kill. The last guy took three to the face and I really don't need to explain why he's dead.'' Zivon concluded.
''I can see the display of something that the Rough Riders had, and that was calm under fire which is an x-factor we will plug into this fight and you demonstrated it perfectly.'' Demigod commented.
Following the testing of the Rough Riders' Colt Single Action Army, the team now reviews footage of the Mauser C96 in it's original appearance in ''Gurkhas vs. Waffen SS'' and it doesn't take long at all for them to come to their decision.
''I really like the Colt revolver for having six shots as well as being single action meaning you can take your time to gun people down, but the Mauser is newer and uses a magazine meaning it has more bullets to shoot with.'' DAM began.
''It really doesn't take a genius to figure out why the Mauser wins or which sidearm wins this comparison. It just has the edge in nearly every way. So I'm throwing my support behind the Boer Commandos on this one.'' Zivon seconded.
''It just has more bullets and it can go full auto which is an instant win right there in itself.'' Demigod added.
''Magazine-fed weapons will pretty much win every time against revolvers despite the revolver allowing for more precise shooting if you take your time with its single action functionality. The Boers will have an easier time overpowering the Rough Riders when it comes to a shoot out at close range. Larger magazine, magazine-fed and a newer weapon system gives the Mauser the edge here.'' Rice Man concluded.
In mid-range weapons, the Boer Commandos take the edge with the Mauser C96.
Coming up, two legendary bolt-action rifles are brought out to kill again and then later, two monster machine guns a revived to wreak havoc on the battlefield once again.
XXXXXX
When these units became entangled in long range battle, they killed their enemies with two powerful bolt-action rifles with extreme precision and power.
The panel heads out to the range where a scenario similar to the set up for the mid-range weapons was put up.
''So what weapons do you two bring in for us today?'' DAM asked.
Boer reenactor Charlie Chaplin and Rough Riders expert Teddy Roosevelt walk toward the panel with their rifles in hand. Charlie stepping up first to present his.
''I bring in the Mauser Model 1895, it is a bolt-action rifle developed by the German empire and was a modification of the 1893 model. It uses a 5-round stripper clip of 7x57mm Mauser rounds. It has a muzzle velocity 2,297 feet per second and has an effective firing range of 500 meters.'' Charlie explained.
''Very nice, and what about you Teddy?''
''For me, I have the 1896 Krag carbine which is a Norwegian designed weapon made by Springfield Armory. It was introduced in 1892 when the US Military adopted it as their standard longarm. It fired the .30-40 Krag cartridge, had a muzzle velocity of 2,000 feet per second and an effective firing range of 900 meters.''
''Both rifles look like they can do some serious damage and we're having you guys test it out in a late 19th century shootout. You'll be making your way through this No Man's Land to two concealed position where we've set up five targets that are in a fortified position. Just like what we did with Teddy and his Colt we'll be simulating artillery fire in the test to see how well you handle the pressure.'' DAM explained, ''Charlie you'll be up first with the Mauser.''
Charlie nods in gets into position and loads in his first stripper clip as he awaits DAM's signal.
''Okay on my count, 3...2...1...go!''
As soon as the countdown was given the first artillery shell exploded leaving Charlie temporarily shook at the sudden noise but he got up and ran toward his first position and aims his sights. The two targets on the zipline which represent moving enemies were in clear view and he fires off his first shot but misses both of them.
''Missed.'' Demigod said to himself.
Not bothered by his missed shot Charlie fires again and this time connects with the target's jaw blowing a portion of the face off. Setting his sights on the second dynamic moving target he fires off two shots and manages to hit with both of them. The first pop up targets appears catching his attention and he wasted no time in putting two rounds in it before having to go for the reload.
''Nice, smooth reload, I like it.'' DAM commented.
With his next five rounds reloaded he pumps two successful shot into one of the dynamic targets before unloading another into the pop up until he had one left and just as he was about to fire his tenth shot into the first pop up the second one appears from under the trench and he turns his sights on it and fires a round straight through the head. Reloading his stripper clip he then gets up and charges forth toward the second sandbagged position as an explosion goes off right behind him prompting him to dolphin dive into cover.
Regaining his bearings he sets his sights onto the targets, another explosion going off obstructing his view and waiting for the dust cloud to settle he gets a clear view of his targets and fires on until he gets his third set of shots off. Reloading his final stripper clip he pumps several successful shots, missing two before his weapon clicks empty and he raises his hand signaling he was done with the test.
''Time! Well done, 2 minutes and 45 seconds.'' DAM said.
Now it was Teddy's turn with the Rough Riders' Krag rifle. The expert loads in his rounds and gets into position to await DAM's signal.
''Charge!" DAM shouted.
Teddy makes a mad dash toward the first cluster of sandbags and an explosion goes off several feet away from him but the sudden sound does nothing to deter the expert and he dives into position and immediately takes aim at the dynamic targets. He fires off several shots, two which connect with one of the targets in the chest and neck respectively while the third struck the other dynamic target in the sternum. He awaits for the pop up target to appear and the moment it emerged from the trench he wastes no time in pumping the rest of his first set of rounds into it before going in for the reload.
''The reload is costing him some time.'' Zivon commented, noticing that the expert was inserting his rounds one at a time.
''I doubt it's a problem for him, sometimes you just gotta find a way around it in war.'' Rice Man added.
With his second set loaded, he fires off a round and cleanly blows the top portion of the pop up target's head off just as the second pop up appears and he goes in for the kill by pumping it's chest full of lead before needing to reload again. After inserting his next five rounds he gets up and makes his way toward the second firing position just as two explosions go off beside him but like before, they do nothing in deterring or frightening him and he casually aims at his targets once more. Firing off one shot he blows the head off of a dynamic target and when the final explosion goes off it does nothing to bother him and he fires off his final shots through the smoke at the targets with only two missing their marks.
''Time! Not bad, the time was 2 minutes and 40 seconds!'' DAM called out.
The panel and experts then review the slow motion footage of each target to assess the damage.
''All the targets are dead gents, there's no explanation required because you fired lethal shots into their vital areas for an instant or near instant kill.'' Zivon commented.
''Teddy, I noticed that you were not bothered at all by the explosions as they were going off, why is that?'' DAM questioned curiously.
''The Rough Riders were well disciplined and were well focused when it came to battle so explosions going off next to them ain't gonna bother them.'' explained Teddy.
The team has now tested both bolt-action rifles and now must come to their decision. Where do they stand?
''I gotta call this one even because while the Mauser can reload by simply inserting the stripper clip, the Krag has functionality on it's side and a slight bit of accuracy despite it's slower reload.'' DAM commented.
''For me, the range difference is minor as well as the difference in their muzzle velocity. However, the Krag seemed more accurate in the test so I'll give it my edge for that reason.'' Zivon said.
''I gotta give this one as an even edge. The Krag allowed Teddy to get through the testing faster with it's smoother bolt and better accuracy, however, the Mauser's higher muzzle velocity will put enemies down faster and has a faster reload as well.'' Demigod inquired.
The final decision would fall on Rice Man.
''Krag has two advantages, smoother bolt meaning you'll be pumping shots out faster and more accuracy on its part. The Mauser causes more damage to the body and has a faster reload which means it can match the Krag in firing the same amount of bullets at a given time. So I'm gonna have to go even on this one boys.''
In long range weapons, both warriors are dead even.
Coming up, we conclude the weapon testing by bringing out two deadly crew served weapons and then later, our battle between the 19th century's most famous volunteer units begins.
XXXXXX
Now the time has come for these warriors to bring out their machine guns of destruction. Up first will be the Rough Riders with the all American Gatling gun.
''The Gatling gun is one of the best-known early rapid-fire spring loaded, hand cranked weapons, and a forerunner of the modern machine gun and rotary cannon. Invented by Richard Gatling, it saw occasional use by the Union forces during the American Civil War in the 1860s, which was the first time it was employed in combat. It's a real American invention and fired .308 cartridges with a fire rate of about 200 rounds a minute is fired by cranking it.'' Teddy explained.
To test out the Gatling gun, our panel as set up a defensive scenario where the expert has the high ground and must keep it from the opposing forces consisting of a group of 15 charging enemy soldiers.
''Teddy you will be accompanied by Rice Man who will assist in in loading the rounds in as you fire your weapon. You guys will be given 250 rounds so make these shots count. Whenever you're both ready get into position.'' DAM instructed.
Teddy preps the Gatling gun while Rice Man gets the rounds ready and feeds in the first set of rounds.
''On 3...2...1...Fire!'' shouted DAM.
Teddy begins cranking the weapon system and a second later it comes to life with its audible popping noise going off and he peppers the first line of enemies putting multiple holes in them, blood visibly seeping through their wounds. Not being able to see some of the targets behind the first line he mercilessly shoots through the dead targets and takes down the second row easily mowing them. With Rice Man he smoothly feeds in the rounds and both experts proceed to gun down the rest of the targets with no problems until the popping noises stopped.
''Yep, that's it!" Teddy shouted.
''Time! 1 minute and 30 seconds for your overall time, nice work Teddy.'' DAM said.
''I'm seeing multiple holes in the first line, bullets hitting these guys all over their chest meaning they're all taking a trip to the morgue. Same thing can be said with most of the targets in the second line, dead on arrival.'' Zivon explained.
Rice Man had picked up one of the spent casings and showed it's deformity to the panelists. ''Check this out too, with this jacket completely peeled back it means that these bullets are going through your body with a lot of transferred energy. It's not a smooth hole or tunnel through your body like uneducated liberals think, it's completely tearing through your body causing horrible damage.''
''For the amount of death you caused, you killed 13 out of 15 men.'' Zivon concluded.
''Your weapon looks good in a parade or a museum, my weapon is the one that is associated with British imperial conquest so that means something.'' Charlie said.
Now it's the Boer Commandos turn with their tried and true Maxim gun.
''The Maxim gun was a weapon invented by American-born British inventor Hiram Stevens Maxim in 1884: it was the first recoil-operated machine gun in production. It has been called the weapon most associated with the British imperial conquest and likewise was used in colonial wars by other countries between 1886 and 1914. The one I have here fired the .303 British cartridge with a rate of fire of 550 to 600 rounds a minute and uses a 250 canvas belt for its feed system.'' explained Charlie, ''It is also a water-cooled weapon and the funny thing is if you didn't have water available you could just piss to help cool the barrel down but the acid in urine can be damaging to the weapon itself.''
''Try pissing under pressure when bullets are flying over your head.'' Rice Man added earning a chuckle from everyone else.
''Well, there's that too.'' Demigod added.
''It's gonna be the same test for you with Rice Man feeding the rounds in. Let's see if you're all talk or can prove your weapon is better.'' DAM said.
Nodding, Charlie gets his weapon ready with Rice Man feeding the first couple of rounds into the weapon.
''On 3...2...1...fire!" Dam called out.
Charlie wasted no time in squeezing the trigger and the weapon roars to life peppering the first set of targets with multiple rounds on the body but soon the gun comes to a halt. Charlie tries to fire the weapon but the Maxim only clicks a few times signaling a jam.
''Someone needs to piss in the tube!" Rice Man shouted.
The two get to work clearing the jam and soon they were able to resume fire putting more holes into the first set of bodies. Like with Teddy and the Gatling gun Charlie was forced to shoot through the dead bodies to get to the lives ones and just as he was about to do that, the weapon jammed again.
''Goddamn this weapon jamming is like trying to take a crap and all of a sudden you encounter a blockage!" Rice Man shouted earning another chuckle from everyone.
With speed and precision however they manage to clear the jammed round before emptying the rest of the belt until the weapon clicks empty for real this time. '
''Time!" Charlie shouted.
''2 minutes and 56 seconds!" DAM called out.
''Multiple holes in the targets hitting organs and important body parts such as the heart, lungs, carotid artery and the aorta. All targets in the first line are never gonna get up and some of the ones in the second line are down. 11 out of 15 enemies killed.'' Zivon explained.
''The main thing I'm concerned with the Maxim is the jamming, that's just really bad if you were in a real fight.'' Demigod commented.
''Bruh, I was just about to piss in the tube.'' Rice Man added.
With both weapons proving their worth, which one does our panel believe takes the edge?
''No brainer here, the Maxim may be the weapon that helped British Imperial conquest whatever, but the Gatling gun was made by a damn doctor for christ sake!'' DAM started off.
''It fires off rounds smoothly and if you got one barrel jammed up, take it out and you continue firing with the rest as if nothing happened. I give this one to the Gatling.'' Zivon seconded.
''The Maxim gun doesn't need to be cranked which can tire you out but the Gatling gun is just more reliable for the conditions these two groups fought in. Gatling gun for me.'' Demigod said.
''One jam is enough for me, but when my weapon jams a second time I'm done with it and fighting with my hands. The Gatling gun fires off more rounds much more smoothly, is super reliable and just overall more deadlier than the newer Maxim gun. Less jams means I'm able to kill more people and hold my defensive position better. One Gatling gun against an army of one-thousand enemy soldiers is better than five Maxim guns against two thousand enemy soldiers. Why? The Gatling gun doesn't jam goddamn!" Rice Man concluded.
For special weapons, the edge goes to the Rough Riders for their Gatling gun.
Coming up, Metal Harbinger gauges the x-factors of our warriors and then later, Rough Riders? Or Boer Commandos? Which warrior will reign supreme?
XXXXXX
Welcome back to the fight club, here we tested out the weapons used by two of the 19th century's most famous volunteer military units to decide who is deadliest.
For short range weapons, the bowie knife proved more practical over the Pattern 1888 sword bayonet.
''It's just more simple to use and isn't cumbersome like the bayonet.'' DAM explained.
Edge: Rough Riders
For mid-range weapons, the Mauser C96 outshot and outperformed the Colt Single Action Army.
''More rounds and being magazine-fed gave the Mauser an instant edge over the six-shooter. Sorry to say since I like revolvers.'' Zivon explained.
Edge: Boer Commandos
For long range weapons, both the Mauser Model 1895 and 1896 Krag Carbine proved to be equally deadly.
''Both weapons have no problem in putting a man down, one has the higher muzzle velocity while the other is more accurate so there really isn't a distinctive edge one has over the other.'' Demigod explained.
Edge: Even
And finally, for special weapons the Gatling proved more reliable and effective than the Maxim gun.
''Fires much more smoothly, is more precisely engineered and doesn't jam gives the Rough Riders the edge here.'' Rice Man concluded.
Edge: Rough Riders
Now our resident computer wizz Metal Harbinger will evaluate the x-factors.
''Let's spread the sickness.'' said the metalhead.
''First and foremost we're kicking this off with training and I gave this one to the Rough Riders, some of the men within their ranks were already soldiers or experienced shooters while the Boers were just angry farmers who didn't like the British. The Rough Riders get a 90 to the Boers with an 80.''
''For logistics, this was a no brainer and had to go to the Rough Riders. They were equipped with up to date weaponry and were funded by the government, no shit huh? Boer Commandos were close though since they purchased similar weaponry from foreign suppliers. Rough Riders get an 85 and the Boers get an 80.''
''Tactics comes in next and this one I decided to give the Boers because they really mixed it up against the tea-sippers who were superior in conventional tactics so they utilized guerrilla warfare to some of its finest iterations and inflicted massive casualties on the Brits. For their alien guerrilla tactics that they will bring upon the Rough Riders the Boers get an 88 to the Rough Riders' 81.''
''Killer instinct is next and this went to the Boers very easily. They were fighting for their very way of life against the British forces and for control of the Witwatersrand gold mine so the Boers had a more defining reason to fight and they were vicious to British soldiers in battle. 90 to an 85 each.''
''Next is physicality and this one went to both sides, why? The Rough Riders had already trained soldiers in their ranks used to military life while the Boer Commandos were a constantly moving guerrilla force in a harsh terrain. 86 for both.''
''Finally, we have calm under fire and this one went to the Rough Riders indefinitely. Having to constantly attack entrenched positions means that they will be used to confined chaos and gunfire going off within close proximity to them to the point where it doesn't bother them and they can focus more under pressure whereas for the Boers, usually if a guerrilla force attacks an army that successfully repels said attack the guerrillas tend to break off and run away. 90 to an 80 respectively.''
Our panel has finished the weapon testing and inputting the x-factors. Metal will now run the simulator one-thousand times pitting 5 Rough Riders against 5 Boer Commandos.
Who will win between two of the 19th century's most famous military volunteers?
''In the end, one will be the greatest military unit of the late 19th century, let's go.'' Metal said hitting pressing the button.
XXXXXX
It was another dry day on the flat plateaus within the Free State and for several months the vicous second Boer war had been waging. Teddy Roosevelt had responded to British request for military aid in defeating the Boers and he had agreed to send a detachment of his famed Rough Riders into battle once more.
A group of 5 said Rough Riders were on a hill overlooking a small village that they and the British were to attack the following day. All the men were seen relaxing next to their Gatling gun awaiting orders.
Rough Riders: 5
Unknown to them however, they were being watched and stalked by 5 more men with a raggedy cowboy appearance. Two of the men were below the hill well out of the view of the Americans setting up a Maxim gun while the other 3 were coming within several meters of the Riders ready to ambush them. These men were 5 Boer Commandos from the aforementioned village ready to stop the Americans from raiding their home.
Boer Commandos: 5
The leader of the commandos takes his Mauser rifle and aims at a Rough Rider and with the squeeze of the trigger puts the man down with a shot blowing a gaping hole in his chest.
Rough Riders: 4 - Boer Commandos: 5
''What the hell? Enemies!" one of the Americans shouted.
The Americans look in the direction of where the shot came from and opened fire with their own Krags. One of the Americans manage to drop a Boer who stood up to get a better line of sight and puts a bullet through his neck dropping the man.
Rough Riders: 4 - Boer Commandos: 4
The lead Boer growls seeing his man dies and orders him and his remaining man to retreat for a better vantage point.
"Kom ons beweeg!" (Let's move!)
Both men retreat and before the Americans could give chase the two Boers on the Maxim fire up the hill and manage to drop a Rider peppering his back with bullets, he drops as a twitching mess before becoming still.
Rough Riders. 3 - Boer Commandos: 4
'Damn! Someone get on the Gatling and kill those bastards!" shouted the lead Rough Rider.
One of his colleagues quickly hops onto the Gatling and immediately cranked it up to fire and hammers down lead onto the Maxim wielding Boers and kills the gunner with a volume of fire, each round hitting the man's body making him a convulsing mess before he falls dead.
Rough Riders: 3 - Boer Commandos: 3
The other Boer tries desperately to take control of the Maxim but was gunned down just as fast as his comrade was and is hammered to the bone with bullets, he cries in pain before the Gatling gun reduced his head to a pile of mush.
Rough Riders: 3 - Boer Commandos: 2
''Those bastards are down!''
''Let's chase the other two! Come on follow me!" shouted the lead Rough Rider.
They rush out of their position and give chase to the remaining Boers and see them in the distance heading into a series of trenches. Hearing the Americans rushing their positions the Boers set up with their rifles and began opening fire on the Americans.
At first they miss several shots but eventually one of the Boers fires off a round that hits a Rough Riders straight through his aorta knocking him onto the ground.
Rough Riders: 2 - Boer Commandos: 2
''Meneer, ek sal teen hulle veg, waarsku ons mans.'' (Sir, I will fight them, warn our men.) the Boer said to his leader.
The Boer leader nods and bids his comrade farewell before taking off.
The last two Rough Riders then begin opening fire with their Krags pinning the Boer down. Knowing that they're using this as a way to get into the trench with him he draws his Mauser and bayonet to await his foes.
One of the Rough Riders leaps into the trench and looks around for the Boer. Waiting for the American to come close the Boer then leaps out and jams his sword bayonet into the American's side.
The Rough Riders screams in pain as he tries to fight back but the Boer brings his Mauser up and unloads a volley of bullets into his chest ending his life.
Rough Riders: 1 - Boer Commandos: 2
The Boer's victory was cut short when he was grabbed from behind and stabbed multiple times in the chest courtesy of the leading Rough Rider's bowie knife.
Rough Riders: 1 - Boer Commandos: 1
The American looks at the dead Boer before looking at his man and sighs in sadness before sensing that he wasn't alone in the trench. He hears the cocking of a gun and jumps out of the way just in time. Had he not then the Boer leader would've blown his head off with his Mauser.
The Boer slowly makes his way over to the corner where the American jumped into and just as he does the Rough Riders rushes out and goes to wrestle the Mauser out of his hands and both men struggle for control of the weapon. The Boer would eventually win the confrontation and swings his rifle's butt stock smacking the American across the face knocking sideways.
''That hurt you damn farmer!" growled the American.
The Boer tried to get a shot off agains but the American got back up and tackled the Boer to the ground with his knife drawn. He shoves the blade downward but the Boer uses the varnish on his rifle to block the blow and both men once again struggle. Soon they both tire out and use whatever energy they had left to swat each other's weapons away leaving them both disarmed except...
Both men get up and eye each other knowing that it has come down to this, a bare knuckle beat down until...
The American and Boer notice that their opponent had their sidearm holstered and unused and both knew what it really came down to. It wasn't a bare knuckle brawl...
Both men nodded and got into position ready to draw their weapon. Both waiting for the other man to twitch so they could draw.
Then in a split-second, both men reached for their sidearms and pulled them up and both of them fired off one shot however, it would be the Rough Rider who successfully put a hole into the Boer's head killing him instantly.
He watches as the body falls backward and still.

The victorious Rough Rider twirls his weapon in a cool way before holstering it.
''Goddammit Dutch, I thought we was going to Tahiti.''

Following a close battle between two volunteer military forces, it would be the Rough Riders who would emerge victorious with a close 54.6% compared to the Boers' 45.4%. It was largely in part thanks to their superior training and very powerful Gatling gun which proved way too much for the Boers to handle. The Boers made it close with their alien guerrilla tactics and more powerful short range sidearm.
''Another excellent battle this season and I couldn't agree with the outcome more. Both sides had what it took to win but the Rough Riders just dominated with their Gatling gun.'' DAM commented.
''The Boers were able to create lots of hell and chaos with the Rough Riders but the Americans were actually or already trained shooters before becoming a Rough Rider which gave them a distinct advantage. If the Boers had won the fight it would've not surprised me considering how they fared against the British army before losing.'' Zivon said.
''It was a good fight but, if you're better equipped and carry more up to date weaponry, makes sense you'd win a lot of the time.'' Demigod added.
''The Rough Riders will forever go down as a legendary military unit within the US military and today was just more proof of why they were so effective. Now, imagine if these two allied with each other now that would be a strong unstoppable force. However, today this victory goes to the 1st United States Volunteer Cavalry, congratulations Rough Riders.'' Rice Man concluded.
(The surviving Rough Rider was seen riding on a horse he had stolen from the village toward the sound of more gunfire and off in the distance he can see more of his fellow Rough Riders engaging more Boers. A massive battle on horseback was taking place and he smiled to himself as he pulled out his Krag. ''Well, Tahiti can wait!'')

A/N: I'd like to apologize for the delay, I have been very tired recently from my job and just got lazy when it comes to fanfiction. I'm glad I am able to get this chapter out to the fans and I'd like to thank the panel for helping out as usual. Hopefully the fight did not disappoint and we're all looking forward to the next battle! Any warrior requests I will happily take as well.
