On Halloween Night, before the party at the Parker Home…
Eddie agreed to come with Peter to New York's Halloween Party with Gwen, MJ, and… Harry Osborn.
Osborn…
It seemed like that little twerp was causing nothing but trouble and not just him but his dear old dad too. Eddie did his research and uncovered that Osborn and the Tombstone had some shared business together, which possibly could have something to do with the other Artificial Mutants that had been hunting Peter. There is also the Goblin, this Green Goblin has also been spotted trying to take down the Big Man, no matter what the cost. Those weapons have to come from somewhere and Oscorp has the capabilities to create them, with the flight project combined with the weapons-.
"So, I'll go out for one more patrol before joining up with you at the party. Sounds good?" Peter suggested as he was prepping his gear.
"Yeah, sure, sounds good," Eddie mumbled as he was changing into a lab coat, something simple at the party.
"What's wrong? Something on your mind?" Petey asked his bro.
"It's Osborn," Eddie admitted.
"Harry? Look, I know Harry is abusing drugs right now and I need to talk to him with Gwen, but he's not a bad person-."
"No, I mean the other Osborn, though that brat's not my favorite right now. Pete, don't you think it's odd that a guy with Oscorp Weapons, Oscorp Glider, and has Artificial Mutant Strength, who is targeting the Big Man himself? Not only that but isn't odd that the guys has these things from a man who is connected to the Big Man?" Eddie suggested while Peter looked deeply concerned.
"Y-you don't think… It couldn't be…?"
"Pete, I think we might need to start looking into Osborn. We have to be certain if he's the goblin or not." Eddie advised, "Be careful, though. If that's Norman, he won't hesitate. After all, the man never apologizes."
"Right."
At night in New York…
Peter was checking the lead with Eddie as he spied on Norman, seeing if there was any connection to him, and what he found was disturbing…
Osborn, coming from a secret room that had the mask ever so similar to the Green Goblin, then the Goblin had been sighted here, and the gear being made in the lab…
"Oh Harry, this is going to tear him apart," Peter muttered to himself, while leaving to think about what he had just seen.
He made a hammock of his web to think about it, to really think about it.
"I believe it… I can't believe it." Peter muttered to himself, suddenly his spider-sense tingling!
"They are not the only ones in disbelief, Little Spider!" The Goblin cackled as Peter was forced to hitch a ride!
Later at the Party…
"Okay Pete, we really need to talk about Harry-. Uh, Pete, I don't see you. Where are you?" Gwen wondered as Spider-man walked behind her and unveiled his mask, startling her, "Woah!"
"Pretty cool costume, huh? Made it myself." Peter grinned theatrically.
"Well, it really suits you." Gwen admired.
"Thanks."
"Pete! Hey, Bro, Gwen, over here!" Eddie shouted for them while waiting for Liz and MJ.
"Hey, guys." Peter greeted them while they admired the suit he wore.
"Woah, Pete, looking good." Liz complimented him, "You really filled up."
Peter blushed.
Eddie was not certain if it was a good idea for Peter to be prancing around in his Spider-Man suit. But thankfully everyone thought it was just a cheap costume. But still… can't be too careful. He was about to talk to Pete when the funniest thing in the world just appeared.
Flash and the football players were dressed up as cheerleaders! Eddie did not want to waste a perfect moment like this as he took a pic.
"Might need it later for a good laugh," Eddie smirked.
"Nice nerd gear Parker, Brock." Flash scoffed at the two.
"My darling Flashette, don't you look dapper for the ball." Eddie countered then laughed.
"Nice seeing you again, Eddie." Randy greeted the college boy.
"How has college been treating you?"
"Pretty good, pretty good. Thought I take a break from the books and hang out with your Bro."
"Your bro… right."
"What does that mean?"
Rand and Eddie then looked at Peter who was talking with the girls and other football players.
"I know you want to be more with him, a lot more. Even back when you were in Highschool it was pretty obvious how much you adored him." Rand pointed out, Eddie cursing his observation.
"…Pete and I are bros, we have been together since our parents died, and we have always been there for each other. I don't want to ruin that."
"What if it doesn't ruin it? What if it makes it stronger?"
"…"
Just thank, to Eddie's relief, a pumpkin firework shot up into the sky! While everyone was admiring it, Peter disappeared, and Eddie had a feeling why.
Later at the Dorm…
After hours of waiting for Pete, he returned with a story to tell and a mask in his hands.
"Pete?"
"Eddie… Harry-he…"
Peter then showed the mask and was stunned.
"Oh, bro."
Eddie went to Peter and hugged him tightly.
"The Green, Gobulium Green, it messed with his head, it turned him into a-."
"It's okay, Pete. It's okay."
"I had to let him go, get him some help. His dad is taking him away so he can get it. No one can know."
"And no one will know."
Eddie did whatever he could to comfort him, remembering what Rand said.
"I know you want to be more with him, a lot more. Even back when you were in Highschool it was pretty obvious how much you adored him."
"What if it doesn't ruin it? What if it makes it stronger?"
Eddie wasn't sure, but right now, his Bro needed him.
At the Shuttle…
Where were we?
It's not cold, but not home.
Others… Others took them here.
Where… is here?
Where were they going?
Help them… please.
At the Parker House…
It was all over the news as Petey was bouncing with excitement.
"Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man, Oh man!" Peter squealed as May giggled at her nephew's cute excitement.
"Peter, I haven't seen you this excited since the Fantastic Four were going to announce their newest inventions. It's just a little goop on the shuttle." May giggled at her nephew's enthusiasm.
"It's not just goop, it's living goop, proof that alien life does exist. This being came from another planet!" Peter answered with delight as he moved closer to the screen.
"Oh Peter, Aliens are green and say, 'Take me to your leader." May chuckled then got back to cooking.
Peter soon felt his phone buzz and knew that Eddie was trying to contact him.
"Hey, Eddie, is it there?" Peter asked on his phone.
"Oh, it's here. Our little alien buddy is all wrapped up like a present and ready to be studied." Eddie happily informed as they placed the alien into a container.
"Do you think I can take a few-?"
"Sorry, Bro. But this alien has to be kept away from people first before it gets its fame. The Connors want to be sure it's not dangerous or sensitive to others or flash. But once given the ok, you'll be the first." Eddie promised his bro, "Oh, Dr. Connors wants you at the lab for more blood tests. He thinks he found something going on with you."
"Sure, be right over." Peter smiled before shutting off his phone, "Okay, Aunt May. I gotta bounce."
"Be sure to bring a meal with you and your medicine." May advised as she presented both.
"I will promise." Peter grinned, "I promise to tell you everything about the alien after I get back."
Peter then rushed out, unaware of how this day would change for him and for the people around him.
End of Book one and will bring Book two soon.
