It's been a week since I found myself in Teyvet. During that time I made sure to test out my new body. I am much stronger physically than I was before I transmigrated. Like yeah, I worked out before to keep in shape but now I found myself strong enough to lift a small boulder. I'm a little afraid to find out what my actual limits are.

I usually test my abilities outside the city wall since I'm not confident enough to take on the monsters here. I haven't exactly taken any quest too dangerous either. I'm not suicide to take on any monster's quest without any knowledge of my powers. No, I take on most of the chores-I mean D ranked quest for newbies.

When Cyrus asked me why I hadn't taken any quest that took me out of the city, I bullshited and said I wanted to get to know the people of Mondstadt. He hasn't called my bluff yet he seems happy either way. He said I had the right spirit for an adventurer. It made me feel a little guilty but I do enjoy spending time with the people here. That's what I get for being a people pleaser.

Anyway. I learned two things about myself while I trained in secret. One, I'm a dragon. One that's very similar to Neuvillette. How did I become a dragon of pyro? I have no idea. Honestly, the Natsu Dragoneel clothes and the pyro vision should have given it away. Though I'm not Pyro Dragon if that makes sense. For one I have pyro vision, I don't think Neuvillette uses one.

But… I glanced at the menu again. When I was looking for info on the playable characters I have. My character popped up with all my stats. It was there that I learned I was a dragon of Pyro. And some abilities unique only to my character. My appearance was different too.

For starters, my eyes were red, and very similar to how Neuvillete's eyes looked. I have hair like Razor's but pink with tanned skin. Despite the situation I was in I chuckled. I look like such a typical fire character. I am debating on cutting my hair though. It's way too long for a fight. I sighed. Does this world even have barbers? I have to bear with it for now.

The second thing I learned is that my "Moveset" is pretty similar to Natsu. Even my special ability. I can absorb any elemental particles I knock from enemies and add them to my power. Which means I could cause any elemental reactions by myself. Well depending on what enemies I'm surrounded by.

My normal attack is a Pyro Dragon's Iron Fist, Pyro Dragon's Claw, and Pyro Dragon's Wing combo. I tested it out on some training dummies and even burned a few to ashes. Another thing is more realistic than the game. I could smell the soot. I don't even wanna imagine what I could do to an ordinary person. But on the bright side, I don't need a lighter to start a campfire.

My charged attack is a Pyro Dragon's Roar. It's so cool. I grow fire wings and shoot a beam of Pyro energy from my mouth. I literally had a nerdgasm. I wonder how spicy things taste now that I'm like this? They have pyro energy right? I gotta test that out.

My Element skill is Fire Dragon's Brillant Flame. Which isn't bad, I should probably save that for clearing mobs and big boss battles. Oh my god, I'm already talking about this like it's an actual video game. At least the cool-down for that skill isn't long. Only 10 seconds. The damage output is pretty large.

The only thing I haven't tested out is my elemental burst. Mostly because I don't have enough energy to do it. But I do know what it is. It's Fire Dragon mode, eh, Pyro Dragon Mode. And depending on what elements I absorb beforehand I could change the mode.

I'm thankful that I have some op abilities. With all the scary things lurking around this world, I need some type of edge. I even have a gamer-like ability. Which is also a cheat. I started as a level one when I got here. And since it's Genshin, I don't need to slay monsters to gain experience.

I have about 60 Hero's wit. I used 6 to level up to 20. At that point, I had to ascend. The price was 3 Agnidus Agate Silver, 3 Lamplight, and 3 three Slime Condensate. Since I came to this world with what I had from the game, I didn't need to worry about material. I regularly farm. I wanted all my characters to be at the maxed level. My online friend Brad told me I was insane from even attempting that but look at me now Brad!

Who is the insane one now Brad!? Okay, probably me still but HOW THE HELL SHOULD I KNOW I WAS GOING BE BROUGHT TO ANOTHER WORLD?! I mean who wishes for this but sad lonely people? ….Okay no comment.

I have my other weapons too. Only a few five-star weapons from each type. I switch out the "Tome of Eternal Flow" for "The Widsith". Even though it's a four-star weapon, the stats are kinda insane. For some reason, my weapons have been reset to level one but the refinement is all at max. Well, I'm not complaining.

"The Widsith" Is also easy to level up. Right now it stands at level 40. Right now I'm a little overpowered. But I'm not leaving anything up to chance. I have four commissions today. Clean up the leaves in front of The Favonius Cathedral. Do some food delivery for Sara at Good Hunter. And feed some pigeons with Timmie, the last one more of a favor. I'm getting paid in dandelion seeds.

The very last one is the one I'm anxious about. There have been some sightings of Ice Slimes near the city. Today will be my very first experience in battle. I figure since it's Ice Slime I have a huge advantage. And it's Slimes, they're like a beginner's Gamer's bread and butter. I shouldn't have any issues. Unless of course, they freeze me to death.

Please don't let me freeze to death. I slapped my cheeks. Stop it. No bad thoughts today. I gotta prove I'm useful otherwise I'm going to end up stuck here. "Okay Cyrus, I'm heading out." There was no response. Of course, he said he had to check something out today. It seems pretty important. I wish I was paying more attention. Never mind that, let me help Timmie first and then head over to The Cathedral first.

"Good Morning Sister Grace." Grace smiled warmly at me. "Good morning Dean. I have to thank you again for looking after Timmie today." I didn't know Grace was the "Mother" Swan was talking about the first time around. I still lack certain info on the "NPCs" so to speak. I cringed at the word "NPC" They're all real with feelings of their own. "It's nothing, Grace. I'm just doing my part as a new resident of Mondstadt. Plus I love helping out with the kids. Especially Timmie, who was the first kind soul I met since coming here."

Grace shook her head. "Even so, it means so much to him. Why he can't stop talking about his "Big Bro Dean" I'm afraid he hasn't stopped singing your praise since you got here." I blushed. Warmness touches my heart. That kid. I'll treat him his favorite treat as thanks. "I have to do what I can. The atmosphere has been kinda tense lately."
Grace frown. I don't need to elaborate on that, there have been recent dragon sightings lately. There have been nervous whispers about it since yesterday. I shake my head. "In any case, let me finish up here. There been some Ice Slimes sightings close to the city and the guild want me to take care of it." Grace nodded. "That's right! You have a Pyro vision, don't you? I think I've seen you train with it before."

I nodded. "One of the few here. I think normally Amber would have taken care of it but she has been tasked with something else. I think it's pretty important because she wouldn't even tell me what. Well, that's a knight of Favnoius for you." Grace sent me a worried look. I think she knows I lack combat experience but hasn't said anything to me.

Which I'm grateful for, I'm trying to look competent. "Do be careful Dean, Slimes aren't hard foes but even the slightes mistakes can fell a veteran adventurer." Thanks, Grace, I'm not trying to die on purpose. I do appreciate her concern though. "Don't worry, those Slimes are as good as melted. Get it? Cause I have Py-"

Grace gives me a look that shuts me right up. Note to self, don't piss off any nuns. "I'll uh, I'll be careful. Scouts honor." Grace's mouth twitched. "Please do Dean, but why a scout?" Oh yeah, they don't have Boy Scouts here. "I mean Knight's honor?" Grace shook her head amused. "You say the weird things sometimes."

I laughed nervously. "Haha, you think so?" I hope no one thinks I'm weird. They already think I'm weird back on earth. "I just have an active imagination. In any case, let me finish up here." Grace nodded gratefully. "Yes please, don't let me hold you up any longer." It didn't take me long to finish. It's weird, the wind kinda blows most of the leaves away. If it's Venti's work then I owe him a drink.

Somewhere far away a certain bard sneezes. "Hehe, I wonder who talking about me. Maybe they're thinking about giving me booze. I can't wait."

Meanwhile…

A shiver went down my spine. Well, that's a bad omen, maybe I should just pick a different gift. I think that god might drink all of my mora away. I should get going though. It's time to test out my abilities on real enemies. The Ice Slimes should be towards the wes-no the east gate? No, I'm pretty sure it's the west gate from here. Let me defeat the Slimes and then end off the day by helping Sara.

Turns out I was right. Huh? Why are the Slimes so close? If I didn't know better I'd say someone set this up deliberately. My money is on Kaeya, It seems like something he would do. One Large Ice Slime and four baby ones. I couldn't ask for a better lineup. I quicken my steps and gather a huge amount of Pyro energy in my fist. My Catalyst appears.

I attack the first Ice Slimes nearest to me. Pyro Dragon's Iron Fist! It died instantly. Huh? The other Slimes jumped my way. There is no time to ponder. Pyro Dragon's Iron Fist! Pyro Dragon's Claw! Pyro Dragon's Wing! Each baby Ice Slime was met with an instant kill. I sucked in a bunch of Pyro Energy. Pyro Dragon's Roar! The Roaring flames utterly obliterated the Ice Slime's Armor and vaporized the Slime.

I stared, there was absolutely nothing left of the Ice Slimes except for the drop items that immediately entered my inventory. Holy crap, that was way too easy. I memorized something during the fight. The Ice Slimes were only level 16… No wonder I killed them all with no problems. I'm too over-level.

And if this was what I think this was… I'm officially on someone's shit list. Those Slimes should have caused a little issue for a beginner. But I instantly killed all of them. This would beg the question of why did someone as green as me had so much power. I must look like a walking enigma, which was something I wasn't trying to do.

I groaned internally. Way to go Dean. On the bright side, I aced my first battle with no injuries. Grace would be proud. I Should hea- WHAT THE HELL? IS THAT WHAT I THINK IT IS? A huge shadow covers me and heads straight to the city.

ROAR!

It's Dvalin. Dvalin is attacking the city. I can't believe that's today. I thought I had a little more time. I narrowed my eyes and quickened my pace. I had to support everyone. Timmie and the others. I had to protect them. Even if the Traveler was there. I can't think of this as a game. All those people I met that showed me kindness. I have to pay them back!

As I entered the city the knights were already gathering and people were screaming in running. Grace was hoarding the kids away till she spotted me. "Dean!" A knight turns to me and waves his hand. "Please sir, this way. We're evacuating the city." I shook my head.

"I'm heading over there! I'm Dean Dragneel of the Adventurers' Guild. I need to back up the knights and protect the city." The knight's eyes widen. "You're the new adventurer? And with a Pyro vision too I heard..Okay, let him through!" I nodded my head in thanks and rushed towards the raging storm. "Be careful Dean!" Thank you, Grace, I'll be sure to treat you and the kids later.

I readyed my glider and prayed. Okay Venti, if you can hear me I need to help the traveler drive off Dvalin. "Hmm, interesting that you would pray to me by that name. But no time for questions. You should get ready, and let the wind be your guide." Wha-

Up

And Up.

And away I flew.

"AAAAHHHHHH." I flew to great heights and not at a speed I appreciated. "Geez, Calm down. Didn't Miss Outrider show you how to glide? You have to steady yourself." Easy for you to say you drunk bard! Great now I sound like Paimon. But he's right. I center myself and then let the wind propel me forward towards Dvalin. I see someone in the distance.

They seem to be attacking the black spore on Dvalin's back. I charged up Pyro Energy in my fists. Pyro Dragon's Iron Fist!

Dvalin Roared in pain. I did a great amount of damage. Oh yeah. Dvalin should only be at level 10 right now. Confident surges within me. I could do this.

Dvalin Roared in anger this time and swiped me with his tail. The wind was so strong I was knocked out of the air. I squeezed my eyes shut and felt myself hurdling back to earth. Welp. I'm totally going die. Falling from this height will surely kill me.

This is what I get from talking shit. "Don't be so dramatic. They got you." They? Strong arms caught my midsection and slowed my descent. "Are you okay?" I opened my eyes to see the most startling shade of gold eyes I had ever seen.

I stared.

"Um, are you okay? You're just staring at me and I'm beginning to worry." I blushed in embarrassment. 'I'm okay. Thank you for saving me." I receive a warm smile from my hero. It should be a crime to be that good-looking. "I should be thanking you. I wasn't making enough progress and you scared it away with one punch." Coming from the honorary knight of Mondstadt, I was flattered.

I'm just surprised since I wasn't expecting it to be..I mean the traveler is..

The Traveler is Aether. Who to me was just the dorky edge lord prince of darkness.

F #% me.
