Artemis felt sick standing next to Yamato and staring at the two dead bodies. It hadn't taken days for the bodies to be found like Beryl had expected. It turned out the blond girl who lived there had a boyfriend. He had come over to check on her when she wasn't replying to his texts and, using the key she had given him, had discovered her. It resulted in the neighbors calling in a noise complaint because of all of his screaming.

Now, many from the police station were processing the scene of the double homicide with the smell of vomit assailing their nostrils. Yamato, surmising the truth of the scene, wasn't shocked or put out that the boyfriend had vomited after finding his girlfriend like that. He felt awful for the guy.

Hanging up his phone, Yamato whispered to Artemis, "Usagi is piiiiissed."

"Surprising no one," Artemis responded. "I don't know how to feel that we didn't update his address. Two innocent people died because of that. She won't take this well."

"One," Yamato said, walking over to the bodies. Only he was allowed to touch the dead bodies at the moment. He bent down and cut up the front of the man's shirt, exposing his chest, "See that tattoo?" He was glad to see his supposition was correct.

"Yeah," Artemis replied, noticing the boyfriend was watching carefully. He had been told that since he was already at the scene, he could remain if he stayed put and didn't say anything. In reality, the cops didn't want him to realize he was a suspect, and they were watching to see if he gave anything away. After all, his girlfriend was killed along with another man after not answering his text messages. That screamed "caught cheating" to them.

Knowing he had an audience including everyone in the room, Yamato chose to look at the boyfriend and say, "I haven't ever seen that tattoo in person before. From what I learned…." he trailed off and pointed at his field bag he had left where he had been standing. Artemis brought it over to him, and he rifled through it and found a strong magnet. "Yup," he said, holding the magnet over the tattoo. "Prison tattoo. "That tattoo there is of the Korean gang The Seven Stars," the pattern of seven stars was there in black ink.

The boyfriend took a half-step forward, then glanced nervously at the nearest cop, remembering he had been told that he was not to move under any circumstances. He stepped back and said, "Korean?"

Yamato fished the guy's wallet out of his pocket. "His name is Jiji. Sure enough, he's Korean." He then looked at Artemis for help. He didn't know how to pull the suspicion away from the boyfriend, whom he believed was innocent. He knew his friend would catch on and, as a detective, hopefully, have a good idea of how to fix things for the guy.

Catching on as expected and realizing it was all easier than Yamato knew, Artemis said, "Seems the coroner's office is a target again. I want to place officers to guard you and Mamoru."

One of the officers looked at Yamato in concern, "How is this related to your kidnapping?!

Letting out a dramatic sigh, hoping not to show how relieved he was and following what Artemis was getting at, Yamato said, "We haven't updated my intern's address yet. He moved recently. This was his apartment. Why else would a foreign gang member be killed here out of anger?" That much he had figured out from looking at the scene and what he knew about Beryl. He enjoyed dropping that fact in casually.

"Anger?" The boyfriend asked, catching on that it meant that his girlfriend might not have been cheating on him.

"I suspect you'll find that two people came to this apartment. I'm guessing, based on him being dead, that Jiji was the one to have found the address. Then, when it was obvious he had the wrong place, the other person grew angry and killed him."

Sure enough, fifteen minutes later, they had surveillance video of Beryl and Jiji entering the building and only Beryl leaving a short time later. Not that they told the other cops the name of the red-headed woman.

They were immensely relieved to now have not only a name but a face, too. They could identify the enemy, and that was huge.

Jadeite found Rei pacing the shrine grounds, and he could feel the anger and worry rolling off of her. He approached her, and he said, "Ready to murder Beryl?"

Rei turned, and the tension in her body had her holding herself rigidly. "Absofuckinglutly! That bitch killed an innocent woman and…." Tears raced to her eyes. "She caused us all so much pain in the past. I'm scared."

Letting out a low whistle, Jadeite said, "You didn't even flinch admitting your fear to me. I shouldn't focus on that fact, with everything going on, but damn, you trust me that much?"

It had the desired effect, and the tension in her bled out a bit. "You know I do," she said, casting her eyes to the ground.

Jadeite said, "I will point out that all we have to do is return the favor and kill her. In the meantime, I'm guessing you can figure out an anti-reincarnation spell to hit her with so she will stay dead this time."

Rei looked up at him, interested in his idea, and Jadeite said, "I recognize that expression."

"What expression?"

"The 'he's sexy when he's clever' expression."

"This is just my normal expression," she objected, feigning annoyance.

"I know," he said cockily.

Yuki leaned back in his chair while listening to Satoru address The Order of Van Helsing. They had both managed not to give away that they were essentially double agents and working against the group.

As Satoru faked pontificating on the evils of the supernatural, Yuki let his mind drift to his daughter, Reika, and how she had moved in with Motoki. Typically, he would have threatened the man to be good to his daughter "or else," but this one had supernatural buddies, so he didn't dare.

"I brought my gun!" Member Akai said excitedly, breaking Yuki away from being distracted at the moment.

Satoru narrowed his eyes. "And how do you have a gun!?"

"Anything can be bought for a price," the man said condescendingly.

Knowing human nature and the fact that he was in the process of texting Hatori and Artemis, Yuki said, "Idiot. You better not speed on the way home." He fully expected the man to speed in defiance of his comment. The two of them had become members around the same time, and Akai was always trying to prove he was better. And now, since Yuki knew what route he would take, the police would be waiting to pull him over and know to search the vehicle.

It wasn't the gun that he was going after but the person they were working on chipping away at the organization. That included using this event to watch out among the authorities for who tried to pull strings to keep Akai out of trouble and from suspicion. They had beaten the person before when the previous president of the Kanto region had been arrested, but they hadn't identified him or her.

Not to mention, he would be arrested, and all of his belongings would be searched, meaning they would find the ring on him that matched what was found at the other two murder scenes. It would be an excellent way to stir the pot regarding the two investigations.
