*Relic, Fixit, & the tele-pod all jumped behind the Master Emerald as Shadow started to fight Eclipse*
Relic: What is that thing!?
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): That would be what Team Dark came to find.
Cassandra Andrews/Humphrey (Iron Queen): Possibly the last of the Black Arms.
*They all peeked out from behind the Master Emerald*
Relic: Lovely. Now that you've found it, what are you going to do about it!? *Eclipse hit Shadow in the head with his tail & he fell to the ground* Gracious! Shadow, are you - !?
*He got back up*
Shadow: Don't! Let me handle this!
Eclipse: Wow. Disgusting. First that cat girl and now this. You'll wipe out my kind, no, our kid without batting an eye, but you'll give your life to protect these weak, inferior creatures.
Relic: Rude!
Eclipse: I was made to kill you, Shadow! And you've given me every reason to want you dead. But you are the last thing I can call family. So I'm giving you this one chance . . . *he held out his hand to Shadow* Join me, brother. Let's harvest the life an this world, restart our kind, and leave this broken planet to rot.
*Shadow glared at him even harder & his fist glowed green with chaos energy*
Shadow: I swore to the Professor I would protect this world. I swore to Maria I would give the people a chance to be happy. I swore to Abigail that I would give her the peace she deserves. And that means ending you!
Eclipse: I tried to be responsible . . .
*He & Shadow charged at each other*
(Julie-Su's POV)
*Me, Knuckles, Omega, & Rouge were going through the Red Mountains, looking for wreckage of a spaceship. Omega pointed his gatling gun at a hammer that was hitting the ground every five seconds*
Omega: THAT DEVICE IS ACTING AGGRESSIVELY. PERMISSION TO FIRE?
Knuckles: No! You can't shoot the hammer! You can't shoot the gears! You can't shoot the lava! You can't shoot anything!
Rouge: Does that thing even do anything anymore?
Knuckles: Sure it does! It's . . . Part of the mining . . . Stuff?
Rouge: For what? The trade routes to all the places that don't know this island exists? *he didn't answer her. I have her a glare* Sorry. I'm not known for my gentle touch. I just hate the idea of you wasting your potential. You're up here watching this spit of land for what . . . How do you benefit from any of this?
Julie-Su: Other than the fact that this island is also home to the the only few hundred echidnas living in Echidnaopolis.
Rouge: I wasn't talking to you, Pinkie.
Knuckles: 'Su's right. It benefits everyone else. Bet that never occurred to you, huh? *he started to climb a wall* Let's try up here. *I followed him on my hoverboard, Omega climbed after Knuckles, & Rouge flew up* Ah-ha!
*We all looked into the crater & found a wrecked spaceship*
Omega: ALIEN ALLOYS DETECTED. CONFIRMED AS ECLIPSE'S SHUTTLE.
Rouge: It's about freedom.
Knuckles: What?
Rouge: I do my part and I've got freedom to do my own thing. I have my job, but it's not my life. All you and 'Su have been doing for almost a year is wait for trouble to show up. Don't you want more for yourself?
*He jumped into the crater with me following him*
Knuckles: Not really.
Julie-Su: Same here.
*We all climbed on top of the ship & Knuckles knocked on the roof*
Knuckles: So . . . How do we get inside?
*Omega got his gatling gun again*
Omega: I WILL MAKE AN ENTRANCE.
Rouge: Hold it! Eclipse may be in there waiting to ambush us.
Omega: THEN I WILL "MAKE A DOOR" IN HIM AS WELL.
Julie-Su: I'm with the robot on this one. Hit him fast, hit him hard!
Rouge: Fine. We've lost the element of surprise by now.
*Just then, we heard Fixit's voice coming from Omega*
Fixit:*off-screen* MR. OMEGA! MR. OMEGA!
Omega: NOT NOW, FIXIT! I AM ABOUT TO SHOOT A DOOR INTO BEING. YOU WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND.
Fixit:*off-screen* YOU ARE CORRECT IN THAT. BUT THE ECLIPSE IS FIGHTING SHADOW! IT IS MOST DREADFUL SCARY!
Omega: ECLIPSE HAA ENGAGED SHADOW AT THE MASTER EMERALD SHRINE.
Rouge & Julie-Su: What!?
Knuckles: I knew I should've stayed!
*He started to run out of the crater. Me, Omega, & Rouge were right behind him*
Rouge: I don't care how tough you are, you can't handle Eclipse alone. And neither can Shadow.
Knuckles: We'll see. C'mon, it's a whole lost faster going down!
(Third-Person POV)
*Eclipse was on the ground, looking like he was in pain*
Shadow: So much for the "Ultimate Alien"!
*Suddenly, Eclipse grew to his muscular size*
Eclipse: Ready to die, Shadow?
Shadow: Omega warned me of your transformation. I'm not impressed.
*But Dr. & Mrs. Humphrey certainly were*
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively):*in his mind* We'll, one of us is. I wonder . . .
Cassandra Andrews/Humphrey (Iron Queen):*in her mind* Such amazing power. Most intriguing . . .
Shadow: Chaos . . . *nothing happened* Control?
*Eclipse hit him with a fist. Shadow tried to hit him with a spin dash, but it wasn't effective. Eclipse caught him*
Eclipse: So much for the "Ultimate Lifeform!" *he slammed him into the ground, face first. He then picked Shadow up but the foot* It wasn't the new Black Comet blocking your abilities, brother. I was designed to counter you, remember? *then he threw him up into the air* I limit your movement and cloud your mind. This form gives me ten times your strength - *he punched him into the stairs* Which means you're as good as dead! *Shadow tried to climb up the stairs, but Eclipse was right behind him* This is how it should've been back home! No mercy! Just massacre! Any last words?
*He tried to grab Shadow, but missed when he jumped for the Master Emerald*
Shadow: Chaos. *he touched it* Control. *he gained a boost of power & hit Eclipse with multiple fast punches* Chaos Blast!
*He punched Eclipse so hard, he shed his muscular form, sending him flying off the shrine, very far away. The skin melted away*
Relic: Gracious! Are you quite alright?
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Shadow! Report!
Fixit: EXCELLENT DISTANCE, SIR! I CANNOT SEE IT FROM HERE.
Shadow: That . . . Was the first time I've used the Master Emerald's power. I was able to overwhelm his blocking field . . . It was impressive. Now to finish . . . Hrrgh!
*He wobbled a little, but Relic caught him*
Relic: Hold on there! Wait for the others to get here and help!
Shadow: You . . . Sound like Abigail.
Relic: Who's that?
Shadow: My . . . Girlfriend . . .
Relic: Oh my. Really?
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): This is precisely what I feared! We don't know what more Eclipse can do! We must move the Master Emerald to a secure place!
Shadow: But, Eclipse . . .
Relic: I don't think he's moved from where you punted him, dear. *she turned to the Tele-pod* Now what's this rot about taking the Emerald?
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): One functionally extinct recluse and an archaeologist do not make for a good defensive system!
Relic: I though Knuckles was being paranoid! But you're not here ten minutes and you're trying to rob him!
Cassandra Andrews/Humphrey (Iron Queen): "Rob him"!? My husband is trying to protect the world! . . . From threats like that!
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Thank you, pookums. I assure you, I have everyone's best interest at heart.
*The truth was that he & the Iron Queen were planning on using the Master Emerald for a plan they called Operation Conquest. They already had the Eclipse Cannon on the Arm & a satellite called X19. Now they just needed the Master Emerald*
(Julie-Su's POV)
*We arrived at the Shrine, seeing Shadow looking really beat up*
Rouge: Shadow! I told you!
Shadow: I'm fine. Just . . . Recovering.
*Knuckles & I went up to Relic*
Julie-Su: Relic!
Knuckles: Did the alien get you!? Are you hurt!?
Relic: N - No. Shadow gave it his all to protect us.
Fixit: I AM UNHARMED AS WELL, SIR, MISS!
Omega: QUERY; WHERE IS ECLIPSE NOW? I DO NOT DETECT HIM.
Shadow: What!? We have to - !
Rouge: Hold it! You're in no shape to fight. If he's in just as bad a shape, he won't be getting far.
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): That, and he's on a remote island.
Cassandra Humphrey (Iron Queen): Indeed. What's he going to do? Fly away?
*They both laughed*
Shadow: He has a shuttle!
Knuckles: Yeah. We found it. It's wrecked. He's not going anywhere.
Relic: Oh, thank goodness . . . Or, no. Wait. That means we're trapped up here with it. Blast!
Shadow: . . . So instead of hunting him down and risking the Emerald . . .
Rouge: Shadow?
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Finally, he sees reason!
Shadow: We're moving the Master Emerald to a secure G.U.N. facility.
*That made me & Rouge surprised, Knuckles furious, Relic nervous, & the doctors a bit too delighted*
Knuckles: If you think - !
Rouge: Easy, Knux! Give me a second! *she turned to Shadow* As much as I'd love to have that gem, that means the island will fall, with Knuckles, Julie-Su, Relic, and all the echidnas on it.
Shadow: The island will likely float like the rest of the planet's crust. And we'll send up ships to evacuate the island. One island isn't as important as keeping the Master Emerald's power from Eclipse.
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Yes! I couldn't have put it better myself!
Cassandra Andrews/Humphrey (Iron Queen): Agreed
Omega: I AGREE WITH SHADOW.
Fixit: AM I ALLOWED TO VOTE?
Relic: You can do that! There are countless wonders here! Unique biology, architecture, geography!
Rouge: Simmer down, honey! Shadow's right and you know it.
Shadow: This is not open for debate. Rouge, get them to our aircraft and call the Commander to send ships to to Echidnaopolis. I will use Chaos Control to move the Master Emerald directly to -
*Knuckles grabbed Shadow & threw him off the shrine. Shadow landed on his hands & knees as Knuckles glided over to him. Them they charged at each other*
Knuckles: The Master Emerald stays! YOU GO!
