*We all stood on the Master Emerald Shrine as we watched Knuckles & Shadow duke it out. Some worried, some delighted, some annoyed, and one stoic. Shadow punched Knuckles in the face*
Shadow: We have to secure the Master Emerald! It's not safe here!
*Knuckles punched him in the stomach*
Knuckles: It stays here! *he went for another punch, but Shadow dodged it* Eclipse is your problem! It's your fault he's here! So deal with him!
Shadow: This is a waste of my time. *he teleported back to the shrine* Team Dark, head back to the shuttle. I will use Chaos Control to move the Master Emerald and meet you there.
*Just then, Relic got in between him & the Master Emerald*
Relic: No! I won't let you - !
Shadow: Get. Out. Of. My. Way.
Rouge: Shadow! Stand down! This is getting out of control!
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Ignore her! Do it!
Cassandra Andrews/Humphrey (Iron Queen): Bring it to now!
*Knuckles then flew in & punched Shadow in the face again. Then he grabbed him by the legs, spun him around & threw him off the shrine & into the distance*
Knuckles: Thanks, Relic. 'Su, watch the Emerald. I'll be right back. Gotta go break a face.
*He flew after Shadow*
Julie-Su: Knuckles! Wait!
Relic: Don't leave us with - ! . . . Them. *she turned to them & did a crane pose* Y - You all stay where you are! I warn you. I've read about many forms of martial arts!
Omega: THE TINY NERD ONE BELIEVES SHE CAN COMBAT ME. LOGGING THIS UNDER "HILARIOUS."
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): She's a loyal friend to the red buffoon, I'll give her that. Now let's secure the Master Emerald while Shadow, er, distracts Knuckles.
Cassandra Andrews/Humphrey (Iron Queen): So we can get the Emerald.
*I put a hand on her shoulder*
Julie-Su: Relic, it's nice that you're trying to help. But leave the fighting to the professionals, okay?
Relic: G - Gladly.
*I took out my proto gun and pointed it at Rouge, Omega, & the scientists on the tele-pod*
Julie-Su: Okay you three. Back away from the Emerald before I get trigger-happy!
Rouge: Put that thing away, pinkie. We're not going to fight right now. We're holding our position until those two idiots tire themselves out. Then we'll discuss our next move.
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): You can't be serious! It's right there!
Cassandra /Humphrey (Iron Queen): Just take it now!
Rouge: You heard me! I respect Knuckles. He deserves a say. And Shadow . . . We'll, he can be just as stubborn. But I think Eclipse has messed with his head.
*Later, we were waiting for Shadow & Knuckles to come back. Omega was currently holding Fixit upside down*
Relic: Must you antagonize him like that!?
Omega: YES. IT IS MY FUNCTION.
Fixit: . . . HELP, PLEASE . . .
Relic: It is not! Put him down!
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): When we tell the Commander how you wasted time and endangered the safety of our world . . .!
Rouge: The world is shattered right now. Save your breath. We're waiting for Shadow and Knuckles to come back. That's final.
Eclipse:*off-screen* Such decisiveness. *we all turned towards the voice & saw Eclipse coming towards us with four differently shaped aliens by his side**on-screen* Perhaps I'll glean that trait from you after I've consumed you?
*I immediately got out my proto gun & pointed it at him. Omega dropped Fixit*
Omega: TARGET ACQUIRED! I DETECTED IT FIRST! DIBS!
Eclipse: Blurk! To me!
*He merged with the block shaped aliens & the blasts from Omega's gatling gun & my proto gun*
Omega: DESIRED EFFECT NOT OBTAINED. ATTEMPTING EVISCERATION! *he went to punch him, but his fist broke, literally* WARNING! NEW MUTATION SURPASSES ARMOR THRESHOLD!
*Eclipse then punched his fist into Omega's chest & pulled out his power-core*
Eclipse: Ooh! This looks important.
Omega: *kzzt* ENGAGING . . . BACK-UP . . . *kzzt*
*He fell on his back*
Julie-Su: Omega!
*Eclipse then punched me in the face, sending me flying into the stairs of the shrine, hurting my back. Rouge took to the sky*
Rouge: Omega! Julie-Su! Relic! Fixit! Hide!
Eclipse: Hmm . . . Can't reach you up there . . . Cregal! Now!
*The alien that looked like a manta ray merged with him, switching out with the Block Alien, & his arms turned into wings. He took off after Rouge*
Rouge: Since when could he - !?
*They flew circles around each other*
Eclipse:*laugh* Not bad for such stubby wings!
Rouge: We'll see if you're still laughing after I kick your gross teeth in!
*She tried to hit him with her signature Screw Kick, but he dodged & kicked her in the back, sending her falling to the ground*
Eclipse: Ohhh, how I wish I could do this all day. But I need to be pragmatic. The power of the Master Emerald should be secured first. Cyzer if you'd be so kind? *Cregal switched with a snake alien, turning his left arm a light turquoise & it sparked as he pointed it at Relic* That, and I want Shadow to be the first to die by the power of my precious Dark Arms. You there. How did you get to the flying island?
Relic: I - I - I - I took a boat! When the island f - f - fell! It was a while ago!
Eclipse: Useless. *he turned to the tele-pod* You two! Tell me how you got here. Or I shoot her.
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Go ahead. We don't know her. And we get to observe more of your mutations.
Cassandra Andrews/Humphrey (Iron Queen): Which are quite fascinating, I might add.
Relic: What!?
Eclipse:*laugh* The masters were right! Your kind really is beyond salvation!
*Rouge & Julie-Su got up, still a little sore*
Rouge: Wait!
*He pointed his blue arm at us*
Eclipse: Hurry up, or we'll see if this power shoots through her limbs or just blowing them off.
Rouge: We came . . . Via Troop Shuttle. We landed in the Launch Base.
Eclipse: I'm not from around here, remember? I hope you're left-handed, lady!
Rouge: Stop it! It's on the . . . Other side . . . Of the island!
Relic: Just follow the river to the east! It's at the foothills of the mountains, built over a lake!
Eclipse: See? Was that so hard? We have our ride and our directions, little ones. Grab the Master Emerald and let's go!
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Stop! By the authority of G.U.N. I command you to - !
*Eclipse destroyed the tele-pod with a laser blast as he left*
Eclipse: You command nothing, Lunch-Box.
Relic: He's getting away! You're the Super Agents and former Dark Legionar! Do something!
Rouge: I'm trying not to black out from pain. Omega, could pop my shoulder back in, but . . .
Julie-Su: And maybe my back . . .
*Fixit held Omega's Chaos Drive*
Fixit: THE DAMAGE IS SEVERE, BUT LOCALIZED. GIVEN ENOUGH TIME, I CAN REPAIR HIM. HE MUST ALSO NOT MENACE ME FURTHER.
Omega: NO . . . PROMISES . . .
*Rouge & I both groaned in pain*
Relic: I'm sorry, but I'm not a fighter! And the Master Emerald . . .
Rouge: I know! It's important! Eclipse took us out like chumps! He'll be off the island before we can regroup! And the two guys on the island who could stop him right now are busy being thick-headed idiots!
Julie-Su: No kidding! *suddenly, I felt the island shake. I turned around & saw Eclipse running away. His four alien lackey's carrying the Master Emerald* Hey!
*I was about to run after him, but my back was still hurting. Just then, Fixit got a call*
Fixit: SHADOW IS CALLING FOR YOU MADAM.
Rouge: Just a minute. C'mon, Omega. My shoulder & 'S' back aren't going to set themselves.
Omega: THIS WILL HURT.
Julie-Su: You of all people don't get to be squeamish. Do it!
*Using his strength, he fixed my back & Rouge's shoulder. Relic fainted from the sight & sound. Rouge then answered the call*
Rouge: Hello?
Shadow:*off-screen* Rouge? Why aren't Omega and the Doctor answering? Are you alright?
*Relic helped me stand up after she woke up*
Rouge: Omega's conserving power since Eclipse ripped out his Chaos Drive. Julian's tele-pod was blown up. And 'Su and I are a second away from barfing. Y'know why? Because all of this would've been avoided if you two muscle-brains had just talked instead of fighting like children!
*I took Fixit's hand phone from her*
Julie-Su: And now we're all weakend and Eclipse is escaping with the Master Emerald! WAY TO GO BOYS!
*We then could hear them talking on the other end*
Shadow:*off-screen* . . . They're right.
Knuckles:*off-screen* I know. That's what's so infuriating.
Shadow:*off-screen* Yes, well. They weren't shouting into your mini earpiece.
Knuckles:*off-screen* But we found his shuttle. And it's busted! How is he getting off the island.
Shadow:*off-screen* He can't, unless . . . Rouge, does he know about our shuttle?
Rouge: Yeah, he's heading for it now. He's got four wisp-like creatures backing him up. He calls them "Dark Arms."
Knuckles:*off-screen* You guys landed in the Launch Base, right? I know every shortcut on the island! We can cut him off!
Shadow:*off-screen* We don't know how much of a lead he has on us. We need a way to slow him down.
Rouge: We'll don't look at us. We're in no position to chase him, let alone fight him.
*Relic took Fixit's hand phone*
Relic: Pardon the interruption, but - Knuckles? When I first met you, you warned me to beware of all the traps on the island. Is there some way we can use those against Eclipse?
Shadow:*off-screen* There are hidden traps across the island?
Knuckles:*off-screen* Yeah, built a long, long time ago by my people when the island first took to the sky. They're supposed to be a secret . . .
Shadow:*off-screen* We're running out of time!
Knuckles:*off-screen* Grr . . . There are a few command hubs hidden on the island! Tell them to cross the bridge to the mainland. There's a cave leading right into the mountain. If they follow the left wall, they'll find a small hidden alcove. It's hidden and easy to miss. After that, it's a short walk to the Control Hub.
*We followed Knuckles' directions & found the Control Hub*
Relic: Oh, my gracious . . .! This is positively splendid! And ancient! It looks like it pre-dates even the echidnas' dynasty, meaning . . .
Rouge: Do you know how to work this?
Relic: N - No. I'm rubbish with computers. Modern or ancient.
Rouge: We'll, I'm a quick study. Let's see if I can at least find . . . *Eclipse appeared on the screen* Got him. He's in Sandopolis.
Knuckles:*off-screen* Great! That place is a pain to travel through. Have them slow him down! Now follow me!
Shadow:*off-screen* Did you get all that?
Rouge: Yep.
Shadow:*off-screen* Good. Then we're on our way!
Julie-Su:*in her mind* Even if we manage to stop Eclipse . . . Then what? What if Knuckles as to . . .?
Rouge: "Slow him down l." Easy for you to say. I'm not even sure what I'm doing.
Relic: Perhaps it's an intuitive system? The Trolls of the Second Great Civilization had many crystalline . . .
Rouge: Do you mind?
*I got my proto gun*
Julie-Su: You guys have fun playing Cat and Mouse with aliens. I'm going to help my boyfriend!
*I took the shortcuts Knuckles showed me & made to the Launch Base just as he & Shadow were battling Eclipse. Knuckles looked surprised to see me*
Knuckles: 'Su!? What are you doing here!?
Julie-Su: Helping you. Duh. If you think you can keep me away from this action, then the altitude must messing with your brain.
*He was speechless for a minute & then smiled*
Knuckles: Of course. I should've known that I couldn't keep a warrior like you away from a fight.
Julie-Su: Thank you. Now come on. Let's get this creep!
*We both ran towards the battle & Knuckles rammed into Eclipse. Then he pinned him to the ground. I pointed my proto gun at him*
Knuckles: Nothing personal. But if I have to shatter something today, it's gotta be you!
Julie-Su: So stay down or else!
Eclipse: Blurk! Cregal! Cyzer! One of you! Grant me your power and get these savages off me!
*Then he merged with the manta ray alien & he used his wings to smack both of us off of him*
Eclipse: Didn't expect these powers, did you simpletons!?
*Then he flew up. But Shadow knocked him down with a spin dash*
Julie-Su:*in her mind* OW . . . Darn it. I'm way to sore and tired to keep fighting like this. *we both looked at Shadow, who was still fighting Eclipse* And even after all the fighting he's done already, Shadow probably just as bad as we are. *I looked at Knuckles, who was looking at the Master Emerald* We can't afford to lose now. If we do, Eclipse will use the Master Emerald to power up his alien lackeys. But if we win, Shadow would probably just take the Master Emerald anyway. Knuckles has probably been racking his brain the whole way here. But we both know that the only way to stop them both is . . .
*Knuckles looked frustrated as he clenched his fist. I put my hand on his shoulder & nodded. He nodded back & went up to the Master Emerald. Meanwhile, the block shaped alien separated itself from Eclipse, looking exhausted*
Eclipse: Blurk? Buddy. C'mon, we're not finished yet. *the manta ray & the snake looked just as exhausted* Cyzer? Cregal?
Shadow: It's over. You're finished.
Eclipse: Oh, shut up! You can barely stand!
Knuckles: "The servers are the seven Chaos. Chaos is power enriched by the heart. The controller serves to unify the Chaos." You are in danger. I have to send you away. I will find you and unify you again. I'm sorry.
*He screamed & then punched the Master Emerald, breaking it into a million pieces*
Eclipse: NO! *there was a flash of green light & the pieces were sent flying in all directions* Who would you do that!?
Shadow: Was that . . . Chaos Control . . .?
*Knuckles flew up to Eclipse & punched him in the face*
Knuckles: You made me do the one thing I swore I'd never do again!
*Just then, a little alien shaped like a music note merged with Eclipse's arm*
Eclipse: Rhygenta . . . No . . . They'll kill us both . . .
*Suddenly, his arm turned magenta with a single eye at the end & it sent out a sonic blast, knocking us away. Then everything went black*
*When we woke up, Eclipse, his alien lackeys, & Team Dark's shuttle had flown away from the island. The best day, a G.U.N. Carrier came to the island with soldiers & the scientists from the tele-pod to gather the wrecked alien ship. The short male scientist & his female assist were observing from hovercrafts*
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Careful, careful! I want as much of that alien vessel intact as possible!
Cassandra Andrews/Humphrey (Iron Queen): So watch what you're doing!
*Knuckles & I walked up to them with Team Dark*
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Ah, Team Dark! Good to see you back in one piece! There's a shuttle waiting to take you back to the carrier.
Cassandra Andrews/Humphrey (Iron Queen): And Knuckles and Julie-Su, was it? Come to oversee our work?
Knuckles: Yes. And as soon as you get that trash off my island, I want you gone.
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Of course, of course. G.U.N. would like to thank you for . . . We'll, most of your cooperation.
*Just then, we both realized something*
Julie-Su: Wait a minute . . . Don't I know you two from somewhere?
*They both started get nervous. The woman hid her face behind her clipboard*
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively):*ahem* O - Of course! We were on the screen of the tele-pod that -
*That's when it hit us*
Knuckles & Julie-Su: SNIVELY!
Knuckles: I don't know what you're doing with G.U.N. and quite frankly, I don't care! You can have the alien junk, you . . . You - GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!
Dr. Julian Humphrey (Snively): Yeep! Y - Y - Yes, sir!
*I turned to Rouge*
Julie-Su: You keep some questionable company.
Rouge: Comes with the job. *she looked at Knuckles* Smart move with the Master Emerald, by the way
Knuckles: Huh?
Rouge: You kept it out of everyone's hands, and now you can piece it back together while the rest of us are busy, distracted with other things. And with the world as it is, Angel Island won't fall any time soon. Pretty cunning, handsome.
Knuckles: . . . Thanks, but it never should've come to this.
Julie-Su: Yeah. Remington almond blew a gasket when we told he what happened.
Rouge: Take care, Knux, 'Su. Until next time.
Knuckles: Hey, Rouge?
Rouge: Yeah?
Knuckles: Tell Shadow that he's a jerk.
*She laughed at that as she left*
Relic: Everything's sorted, then?
Julie-Su: I guess. Y'know, I'm sure the Captain of that Carrier would take you home if you wanted.
Relic: That would probably be the smart thing to do, but I can't bring myself to leave this place. And I promised I would help you both look after it. I can't do much, but a promise is a promise.
Knuckles: Thanks Relic.
Fixit: I WILL ENDEAVOR TO ASSIST HER AS, SIR, MISS.
Julie-Su: Heh. Thank you too, Fixit.
Relic: What's the plan now?
Knuckles: We need to find the shards of the Master Emerald. I know Sonic and his friends are trying to fix the world, and if they do that before the Master Emerald is restored, the island will fall.
Relic: Darned if you do, darned if you don't, eh?
Knuckles: Tell me about it.
Julie-Su: We'll grab Chip and the Chaos Emerald we got from the Chaotix and track Sonic down first.
Relic: I'll keep an eye on things while you're gone then. Will finding Sonic be easy?
Knuckles: Pssht. Easy? The guy is a trouble magnet.
