Bobby Meets His Match- Chapter 31

Sorry it has been so long since I worked on this story. Real life has gotten in the way. But I have the ending mapped out, just need to find time to get them down, edited , and posted. Hope you are all still as interested in Bobby and Cathy as I am. Here is a short chapter to get us back in the groove.

"You are going to be a daddy," she said, holding his hand gently splayed on her abdomen. Bobby stood, his hand completely still, the only sensation he experienced was the feeling of warmth and softness from her abdomen emanating through the satiny material of the dress. His mind raced through thoughts, so quickly he couldn't grab onto one. What had she

Said? A daddy? That meant... She was... A baby? What the hell? His fingers moved slightly over her abdomen...over, his baby?

Holy shit! What the hell was he going to do with a baby? What the hell kind of daddy would he be, as fucked up as he was? What if he fucked up the kid? And is this why she had fainted yesterday?

Bobby was jerked back into awareness by the soft hitching of her breathing and the tears starting to well up in her eyes. Her hand, holding his gently against her abdomen clutched his.

"Bobby, please, say something. Are you mad?" She was looking at him, her mouth quivering as she tried to keep from dissolving into tears. The tears

That had overflowed form her eyes and slipped down her cheeks finally stirred him from his stupor. Shit! This wasn't what he had planned, but he had the woman he loved back. And, a baby? Holy, shit!

"Oh, Cathy, he said, using his hand on her abdomen to gently pull her into his arms. He cupped her face in his hands, wiping away

her tears with his thumbs. "Oh, baby, I'm not angry. I'm surprised, happy, worried, ( fucking terrified, he thought to himself) but nowhere near angry." He pulled her down to the couch and onto his lap, where the overprotective part of him took over.

"Are you sure?," He asked, carefully, wondering ( hoping?) it was a mistake. She nodded. "I took a home test, and it was positive. I am going to have our baby."

Finally, she saw Bobby's beautiful smile. He was going to have a baby. SHE was going to have HIS baby. Sure he was as surprised as fuck, and there was so much for them to figure out, but what the fuck did any of

that matter? He put aside his terror at the thought that he, as fucked up as he was, might be a terrible father. He loved her so much, and now she was having his baby. He picked her up and carried her to the bedroom, and proceeded to show her how happy she had made him. He made love to her gently, almost reverently, his hands repeatedly caressing her abdomen. He noticed right away that her breasts had gotten slightly bigger, and more sensitive. Once Bobby discovered that the mere touch of his lips on her breasts made her come, he teased her mercilessly, chuckling arrogantly when she finally begged him to stop. His mouth left her breasts and his lips worshiped her body.

Steph met Cathy for lunch at the restaurant half a block from Cathy's office. It had been more than a day since she had helped Cathy with the pregnancy test, but she didn't know what had happened between Cathy and Bobby since. Cathy had called her this morning and said she had to go to work for a few hours, but could Steph meet her for lunch.

Cathy looked much better than she had the last time Steph had seen her, so that must mean things had gone well. Steph loved the cute dark blue suit and amazing peep toe heels that Cathy wore. Steph wore heels on distractions, but she couldn't imagine wearing them ALL day! "So, did you tell him? How did it go? "Steph could barely wait until Cathy had gotten settled to start with the questions.

Cathy sighed as she looked at the menu. She was still suffering from some pretty bad morning sickness, which in her case seemed to be " almost all day sickness, but at least now she knew some of the foods she could eat to settle her stomach.

"Does Bobby know you came to work? I mean, the guys can be way overprotective. I am surprised he didn't insist you stay home and "rest", or insist that he come with you," Steph started in. " I mean, the guys are all badasses, seriously overprotective of me, and so I can only imagine how he is with you being pregnant…

Cathy smiled. "Well, you know Bobby," she laughed. The morning after she had told him she was pregnant, she had woken up in his bed, then ran to his bathroom for her usual bout of morning sickness. Bobby had already been awake, researching foods to help with morning sickness. By the time she had finished and cleaned herself up, he was there with crackers and fruit, coaxing her to eat it.

Steph laughed at how much that sounded like Bobby. "I bet he has already taken you to the best OBGYN in Trenton," she challenged. " get used to that The guys can be a bit smothering sometimes. I am surprised he was ok with you coming to work alone today."

"That was an argument. First, he wanted me to stay at his place. Then, he wanted to drive me to work on the way to his shift with Lester. The only way I could get out of there was to agree to take this and " carry it at all times"- she said the last part in a deep voice, imitating Bobby's voice, can held up a tiny fob with a red panic button. "I know its cause he loves me and wants to protect me, but…" she shook her head.

"I know. It gets intense, " she empathized, hoping that Cathy didn't know about the tracker Rangeman had already put on her car. "Bobby is one of the main guys at Rangeman, so Ranger is going to use the resources at his disposal to protect you, just as they do me. It's like the guys know how much much badness in the world, they will go to no ends to protect and keep what they love. They don't always understand that it can be stifling.

As if on cue, Cathy's phone dinged an incoming text. And the screen flashed, BOBBY." Cathy shook her head and showed Steph the text.

"Hey, baby. Hope you are doing better. You need to eat lunch, even if you don't feel like it. Soup or salad or bread. I love you see you tonight."

Steph rolled her eyes and Cathy cracked up laughing.
