Three Weeks Later- The Day of Tsunade's Return
"Rock Lee,... really?" Mika muttered, looking at his patient chart. Looking up at Iida sensei, he asked. "How is he, I mean mentally? Last I checked, he was unable to be a Ninja again. I mean, I helped deliver him to the Hospital room in the tower."
Iida nodded, his eyes genuinely saddened for the boy. "The boy will likely never be a ninja, you are right. However, he remains optimistic regardless. His chart, it will show the damages. you saved his arm and leg, that is true, but his spine... the damage was immense. We can only hope Lady Tsunade can find a safe way to heal him."
Mika smiled. "Lady Tsunade... she is one of my idols, I cannot wait to meet her."
"She's right behind you." Mika jumped just as Iida bowed reverently, turning to see the most stunning of women standing next to Naruto. She was curvy, well built and kindly with honey blonde hair and beautiful eyes and a purple diamond on her forehead. "You must be Mika, Naruto told me you saved his life against Kisame and Itachi. I have also heard and read a lot about you." Her eyes, warm and light, filled with pride. "You are something else. I hear you wish to overcome my skills one day. I cannot wait to see if you do. I assigned you to Lee, but first let's go check out this Sasuke Uchiha. If you are half as skilled as you are said to be, you'll need to see what I do."
Iida, blustering and pale, chattered out. "Lady Tsunade, it's an honor!"
Tsunade turned to the mentor. "I heard you did well work with Mika, turning him into one of the most promising medics I have read about. Good work, be proud of that." She turned back to Mika. "Come with me."
Naruto, oddly suddenly shy, smiled at Mika. "Thank you for saving me. That Chameleon Kagome, she took me to Pervy Sage and he got to you faster. She said you'd likely be said if I hadn't gone with her and so would I... so... thank you."
Mika smiled. "It's fine. I've recovered and you are safe. That is what matters...I am sure you, like I, figured out why they were after you?"
Hand moving to his belly, Naruto nodded. Tsuande turned her head to them. "Sensei was right, you are quite smart... now... hush on that for now. Please, let's go see to this Sasuke."
Mika moved with her to Sasuke's room, filled with an annoyingly attached Sakura. Flowers, white and pretty, were in a vase near Sasuke's bed. 'Those weren't plucked the same day, she's been here a while.'
Tsunade pointed to Sasuke while Naruto talked to Sakura. "Examine him, tell me what you sense."
Placing a hand over Sasuke's forehead, Mika pushed his chakra in, recoiling after a moment. "Pain, a lot of pain, and confusion. Trauma had damaged the synaptic response. He was under so much stress he's in a coma."
"Very good, now to undo this, you need to undo the physical damage of the genjutsu while also healing the flow of chakra to the brain. Even I need to be delicate here." She put a hand on Mika hand over Sasuke's forehead. "Feel what I do, and learn."
Mika did as he was told, and was in sheer awe as her chakra moved through Sasuke's countless nerves, hundreds at a time, soothing the damage, easing his pain and restoring cognition in a matter of moments. He actually felt Sasuke's mind snap back into place like a broken bone.
"Wow... you really are amazing, Lady Tsunade."
She smirked. " I do what I can..."
Sakura then threw herself at Sasuke, or rather tried to but Mika stopped her. "He needs his rest, leave him be. And don't touch people without their permission. Seriously, you should know better at your age. I'll have no choice but to ban you from the hospital." He glared at Sakura, who actually cringed in response.
Sasuke nodded. "Thank you, Mika." He said almost mutely, and Mika knew he meant it. The boy looked at Sakura with something akin to disgust, like she was a particularly ugly bug. Something he wanted away from him.
"Not a problem."
"You can't do that!" Sakura cried out.
Tsunade sighed. "He is a class three medic, I'd wager he'll reach class four in a year or two. So yes, he can kick you out and keep you out. He also far outranks you, so I'd behave if I were you. Mika, we have more patients."
And soon they were in Kakashi's room, with Tsunade berating the man in the most entertaining way imaginable. Calling him disgraceful, Mika actually laughed at the idiot.
"She's got a point, ya know." Then, tired of Guy's chattering teeth and anxiety ridden antics from behind him, Mika turned to him. "I've read his charts, Lee might not be savable. Do not get yourself that worked up, it will destroy you if you do and he is not someone she can help."
The Slug Queen nodded. "He is right... speaking off, Mika go and prepare Lee's Room for me. I need it quiet and clean, if his injuries are even a tenth as bad as you say... I will need the time alone with him."
Mika bowed, and soon was gone, finding that Lee was not in the room. Unworried, Lee had been scolded for not remaining still for his entire stay, Mika made sure the room was in top condition, just as Tsunade, Guy, Lee and a woman he would later know as Shizune appeared walking in.
Lee actually broke out in tears seeing Mika. "You saved my arm and leg, thank you! I would bow, but I cannot at the moment. Still, thank you."
"Any time, I rather enjoy being a medic... and besides, Hinata helped as well. Sigh... anyway, I am more upset I could not save your spine the trauma it experienced."
Within minutes, Mika and Tsunade both were examining him with their chakra, and what they saw was horrible. Bones in his spine, damage to his nerves... he was lucky to be breathing, walking, any of it.
Mika sighed, moving to look at Lee. "I may be overstepping... but Lee, you have bones in your spinal column. You are lucky to be alive. I would guess that only Lady Tsunade could even attempt the surgery needed to save you... and frankly, it would be a fifty fifty shot. That is, fifty percent positive you'd... die. Am I wrong, Lady Tsunade?"
She sighed. "No, no one but me could even attempt this operation. You are entirely right, Mika... Sadly so, I am afraid."
At the sight of Lee's defeated, universally worn out expression, an idea popped into Mika's mind. "Lady Tsunade... tell me, could a Hyuuga's Gentle Fist help? When we, my late Partner Hinata Hyuuga and I, helped Lee we managed to stop the spread of some of the fragments via slowing his chakra flow and blood flow with the Gentle Fist. Could that help?"
She frowned. "That would... help, in theory. I would need to work out the kinks, but I imagine it could be an increase of may six or seven percent. Give me time to think on this. Mika, you will monitor the surgery and learn from my example, that is if he decides to do it..."
Lee threw himself at Mika then. "Thank you, so much, for saving me once again. Please, how may I repay you?"
Mika frowned this time. " Guy, would you be willing to pass on some of the Strong Fist and it's training methods? I wanna get more offensive power."
The man held out his hand, thumbs up. "That I can do! But, you'll need a sparring partner... LEE, how would you like to show Mika your Youth?"
Lee nodded, still sobbing into Mika's chest. "I would be honored to pass on my skills to my new friend."
And just like that, Mika's heart melted and he knew the same feeling of appreciation he held for Hinata... and he knew that just maybe, he overlooked Lee in the past... Pity really, he proved to be quite the badass.
'I really need to work on being less judgmental.. sigh... but now I have more power coming my way and that, it only a good thing.'
"Mika, my old friend Yugao told me she is training you at a personal training ground, correct? I will see about getting you started on the basics of the Strong Fist starting tomorrow. I will likely be away a lot, to keep up appearances, so I will leave you a scroll on the basics."
"Sounds perfect, thank you Guy, and you Lee."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the Reviews.
This was a joy to write.
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
