It has been a whole month! Yes, a whole damn month. I had to stay in the hospital for a week, Charlie and Bella came over almost every day when I was in the hospital, still do and my new found friend, Edward Cullen came over almost everyday too but that reduced when I came back home that's probably because of my neighbor and best friend Bella, both of them were kind enough to fill me in on how Edward ignores her and how Bella shouldn't know about vampires… Amazing right? (did you note my sarcasm) Tristan, Viana and Damien are staying with me well They wont soon, they will be leaving next week… yeah. Bummer. And I am going to school on 3th march which is 9 days before girls choice spring dance. And I have no clue whose going to be my date or if I even want a date or even want to go?
I heard my bell ring, "I'll get it!" I yelled. I opened the door to reveal Bella and Charlie.
"Hey, come on in!" I said in a pleasant tone. They came in and the house started to fill with conversations. After a while the family left to the kitchen leaving me and Bella in the Hall.
"Hey Bells, how was school?" I asked.
"Umm… interesting" she said as she relived the day in her head
"Why, what happened?" I asked.
"Well Mike, Eric and Tylor asked me to the spring dance" I rolled my eyes, I knew Bella was getting irritated by them.
"Isnt it supposed to be a girls choice?" I asked
"I know" she threw her hands in the air.
"Well what did you say?"
"I told them that Im going to Seattle" she said
"Are you?" she nodded
"Well there goes my Date!" this time I threw my hands in the air. We burst into a fit of laughter.
"Seriously though, I don't have a date,"
"You could ask someone tomorrow or you could take Tristan!!!" she said
"OH god no! Tristan? Just eww" I said and I got a reply from not Bella
"I heard you!!!" Tristan yelled from the kitchen.
"You know what? Ill go to La push on Saturday" I said excited at my bright new idea.
"How will you go through?" she asked
"I could just borrow Damien's Car or Take one of them with me" I said. She nodded her head
"Girls Diner!!!!!" we heard from the kitchen. The both of us got up and left.
Today was the day, I was going to school… yayy… I as usual got dressed and went outside,to find no Bella and her car in sight instead I found a Tristian and Viana with smug smiles on their face. They were standing in front of a glossy navy-blue Bentley Flying Spur.
"What the hell?" I said out loud.
"We" said Tristan "Want to show off"
"Why?" I asked
"Because we can" they shrugged. I rolled my eyes. They want to make me center of attention in school. How kind!
I reluctantly got into the car, they made it to school in record time.
"Remind me to never let you to drop me off somewhere" I said to Tristan who laughed. I got out of the car, my legs felt wobbly after that ride, I will not be surprised if I end up throwing up my guts.
"Hey you ok?" Bella asked as I walked up to her.
"Oh yeah, I'm great all thanks to Tristan, he and Viana thought that we were in fast and furious" I said. Bella just shook, her head and laughed at the Montero siblings.
She dropped her key into a puddle infront of her, a white hand flashed in front of her and grabbed her keys before she could even jerk upright. And no surprise, it was Mr. Edward Cullen people!!! He casually leaned against her truck "How do you do that?" she asked in amazed irritation. Oh if only you knew…
"Do what?" he asked as if nothing happened while holding out her key.
"Appear out of thin air" Good question darling Bella, for starters the mans a vampire, he is superfast and sparkles like a hello kitty sticker in the sunlight.
"Bella, its not my fault if you are exceptionally unobservant" he said ignoring my inner lecture…which he cannot hear and by the way Edward, the girl pays more attention than you think. She scowled at his face.
"Why the traffic jam last night?" she demanded. Wait? What traffic jam? "I thought you were supposed to be pretending I don't exist, not irritating me to death" ok so I can bet a hundred bucks that these two will date or even get married!!!
"That was for Tyler's sake, not mine. I had to give him his chance." He snickered. Oh oh wrong move edweirdo.
"You," she gasped.
"And I am not pretending you don't exist," yea, you both are pretending that I don't exist right now.
"So you are trying to irritate me to death? Since tyler's van didn't do the job?" she said harshly. That was a low blow Bella to someone who could have gotten in trouble to save you, I know she doesn't know that but he did save her.
"Bella you are utterly absurd" he said. She turned and walked away with him following her behind and leaving me standing. I was suddenly crashed into someone's chest
"Oh my gosh, you came to school!!!" willow exclaimed.
"I missed you soooo much!!!"
"I missed you too!" I hugged her tighter. I hadn't seen willow since I got admitted to the hospital, she traced my gaze towards Bella and Edward
"They fighting or something?" she asked.
"Not really, they just annoy each other for no reason" she looked over at them and Edward turned his back to Bella and walked away with a victory smile?
"Ill go, you talk to him," willow said and walked away.
"So you done ignoring my presence since Bella isnt here?" I asked. He shook his head
"I was not ignoring you…" he answered. I rolled my eyes
"Anyways What did you ask Bella that makes you look like you won the lottery?"
This time He rolled his eyes "I asked her if she needed a ride to Seattle and she agreed"
"Oh.Oh… Oh!!!" I nudged his shoulder "You have a thing for Bella" he whipped his head to meet my eyes.
"I don't have a 'thing' for Bella" he said "Oh yes you do…" I muttered.
"Anyways I approve of you, I mean you are not some creep vampire who stares at her sleeping" I joked. A look of 'how did you know?' flashed across his face. My eyes widened. I darted my eyes to the floor trying not to make eye contact.
"You do, don't you?" I whispered. I looked around to look away from Edward, at this moment he sounded like a peeping tom or worse which disgusted me… deep down I knew he was good and a bit overly obsessed with Bella which is quite concerning… my eyes caught the 4 supermodels standing near Edwards Volvo, Alice as usual waved at me for god knows why? But the others were shooting daggers at me. Wait were witches and vampires mortal enemies or something? Did they even know I was a… witch?
"Edward," I said "Does your family hate me because I am a witch?" I asked
"No." he looked at me "They don't know you are a witch"
"What why?" I asked.
"I don't want them to think of you as some sort of enemy and make me ignore you, I want to be able to be your friend," I smiled at his concern.
"Then why don't they like me,"
"Its not you, its… bella. They think that the only good deed I did could have put our family in danger" I felt anger, saving someone or helping some one is never a mistake.
I heard the bell. "Im going to be late, ill talk to you later" and I ran to class with a hundred thoughts racing through my mind but I think I got a forever reminder to lock my windows and close my curtains.
School was just school the only difference was I was bombarded with questions about who did I come with? Or Was that your family? I thought you didn't have one or the rarely asked question, how are you? Yes after being almost squashed by a van, the question I get asked was "Who is the hot guy who drove you to school today?" I unconsciously shuddered. Eww…
Willow walked by my side to the cafeteria, We were about to go sit by ourselves when Jessica Stanley called me over… yea surprising right? I didn't have exactly friends other than willow and bella, yes people talked to me but not for genuine friendship.
"Hey Dani," Jessica said. Angela immediately moved making space for me and willow.
"Are you ok?" Angela asked. I liked Angela a lot, she was very nice.
"Yes… I feel way better" I smiled. Jessica immediately started "Anyways who is the guy who came to school today?" she asked when I was about to answer for the millionth time.
"Is he your boyfriend?"
"What! No ewww!!!" yep it was the last straw.
"He is like my brother!" I said louder than I expected. Oops embarrassment. I felt the heat rush to my cheeks. I heard a deep chuckle. Edward. I narrowed my eyes at him and stuck my tongue out like a five year old. He just rolled his eyes. He was sitting by himself and I knew exactly what he wanted.
"Hey Bella" I said. She looked up still sulking "Cullen is staring at you again" he shot me a dirty look to which I grinned victoriously. He signaled Bella to come over, she immediately made an excuse and stumbled towards Edward.
"Your welcome" I mouthed. He gave me a crooked smile.
"And you have a thing for Bella" He rolled his eyes. The both of them started talking. Of course I was bouncing in my seat because I was sure my best friend s were going to be a couple, I knew it.
"So…" Jessica started. I fought the urge to roll my eyes. "What was that?" she said. Oh. She saw our Edward and I's exchange.
"You caught that, huh?"
"When were you going to tell us about that?" she asked. Oh how I wanted to say that its none of her business
"Guess, it just slipped my mind" I said. "Right" she said accusingly. Willow crossed her hands and narrowed her eyes at Jessica's comment.
"I think its nice that Edward has a friend who is not his family," Angela said trying to cool the situation. Both me and willow knew that Jessica is jealous
"So Willow," Angela said "Did you ask someone to the spring dance?" she tore her eyes away from Jessica and her face soften when she faced Angela
"Yeah, I asked a boy named dean" she said with a bright smile gracing her features.
"Do you have a dress? Me and Jessica are going to buy dresses in port Angeles, you can come too" she said.
"Thanks for offering Angela but I'm going to wear an old dress because I want to save money for prom " willow said.
"Oh ok" she said
"Dani, we are going to La push on Saturday, you and willow up for swimming in the beach?" Mike asked.
"Um mike I have work," realisation dawned on him "I could ask my mom to give you a day off?" he said.
I shook my head "No, thank you mike. I have to pay the bills you know," I said as the bell rang
"That's our cue" I said getting up "bye guys" I said both me and willow left to class.
"I don't know why you hang out with them" willow said. She didn't like Jessica much, she only like Angela.
"And they only stay with you because you are the new girl and Bella's and the cullens friend " she said.
"Its true but it's the same thing with me as well, the only person I'm truly friends with is Angela, Ben and maybe Eric " I said
"I like her too, she is very kind" we smile. And we enter to Mr. Masens class, English.
