Naruto Uzumaki

2017

The room I'm currently in right now is surrounded by books. The carpet is made out of wool brown in color with swirling patterns. The wall is made out of rustic-colored wood, decorated with photos of my family and a head of a male deer hanging on top of the fireplace that I hunted with dad. The windows, while barred to prevent any intruders, are thin enough to not destroy the view outside. It is now spring; the weather is pleasant enough that I opened the window to breathe the fresh air from outside the house. Outside I can see a tree that came with this house that was probably planted by the original owner. Hanging from one of its branches I see a swing I tied 4 months ago.

We live in our second home in Connecticut with the first one in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Now you may be confused about how I can afford two houses. Let's just say that the investment I made in the past paid off. From Netflix, Amazon, Tesla, ASML, and TSMC. And some penny stocks in Asia that I thought would fail became big companies like Gojek, Grab, and a mining company that mined nickel in Indonesia. Granted I only own less than 0.1 percent of all the companies I mentioned but that's still a lot of money. My net worth is approaching 20 million dollars!!! That's what happens when you have an army of clones and a bijuu to help you. Rebbeca's income is also not to laugh at. Her family is rich not just because of old money, but also their talent in the business sector. Combined, our income per month (Hard cash I'm not counting stock) is 100k. Safe to say that we are loaded with money. I just hope it's enough for me to run without money from lobbyists. Of course with money comes great responsibility. Rebbeca and I agreed to only spend 10k a month and another 10k would be donated to charity with the rest we safely secured in some banks. And yes we paid our taxes responsibly.

(A/N: Remember kids, pay your taxes. If the joker is afraid of the IRS that is very telling of the consequences if you don't pay up. Yes America, the IRS is famous for its horror-like ways to collect money.)

Tapping my desk. I focused my mind on (trying) to type my university paper. The subject matter is property law. My assignment is to write a review on one of the cases. The assignment sounded simple but trust me it's not. The professor at Yale must hate me or something because the case he assigned me is Pierson v. Post. Generally considered the most infamous property case. I just stare at the screen of my computer, not pressing any of the keys on the keyboard. I don't know what to write. It's been 30 minutes and I'm genuinely out of ideas. Not because I lack knowledge mind you, but the opposite, my clone has accumulated so much knowledge about this case that I don't know where to start. For 2 hours I have sat at this desk and I only manage to type under 1000 words. Too focused on my computer, (which by the way has a GTX 1080 TI) I failed to notice a little gremlin entering my study office.

"Dad!! Dad!!" My body was shaken by the sudden voice looking below me. I see a little boy with red hair just like his mother and blue eyes just like his father. I smiled at him.

"Yes, Hiruzen, I'm listening," the child showed me a paper with a toothy smile and pride swelled inside me.

"Look, look I got an A!!!" he said while doing little jumps and excitement that is contagious. My smile grew wider seeing his action. "Miss. May said that I'm smart." Knowing that he's here to find my approval. I patted him on the head; then messed up his hair.

"Good job, Hiru," I stopped messing with his hair when Hiruzen tried to stop me with his hand. He beamed upon hearing my compliment and rubbed his nose. "Did your mom see it yet?" I asked him. He shook his head. Then as if a lightbulb appeared on top of his head he tugged my shirt.

"Dad, dad where's mom?" He asked me.s

"She's downstairs. Today it's her turn to cook some food." Yes, we take turns. We also made it a competition to see who cooks better. Hiruzen is usually the judge. After hearing my explanation he bolted out of the room and made his way downstairs. Looking at my computer and then at my door. making a contemplating face, I sighed and stood up from my chair. "Ahh, what the hell, let's just take a break, the assignment ends next month anyway."

Passing by my and Rebecca, and Hiruzen's sleeping room. I made my way downstairs while looking at the picture hanging on the white wall: our family photo, Rebbeca sleeping while her face is being drawn on by Hiru, my wedding. Walking in this hallway I can only see happy memories. A sharp contrast to what I had in my previous life. I was alone but now I am surrounded by the ones I love. At 24 and I'm already this happy. True, the stress on me trying to graduate faster, taking accelerated programs, and taking classes in summer strained me. It is always forgotten when you have a wife. Trust me I know.

Arriving downstairs I can see Rebbeca trying to cook while listening to Hiruzen. That was impressive of her. Our child is smart, like his grandfather. A genius they said just like dad. He was recommended to fast-track to graduate early, but I and Rebecca after just one glance with each other in the principal's room declined the offer. We don't want our child to lose his childhood and miss out on making friends around his age. He is a little weird again just like his dad which is normal on both sides of my family. Yet that doesn't hinder him from finding friends. Kurama is lying on the couch watching TV with a remote. Next to him is a bowl full of springles.

'He's watching Game of Thrones.'

Seeing Rebbeca while managing fine is occasionally stumbling on her cooking wear because of talking with Hiruzen. I lifted him and plop him to sit on the dining table. He pouts at me and I can only chuckle seeing his childish reaction. "So what did you learn today Hiru?" his pout disappears, replaced by a talkative mood. My son is hyperactive so it's hard trying to listen to what he's saying because he talks too fast. I occasionally have to tell him to slow down which he did only for him to forget a couple of minutes later.

(A/N: I wrote hiru just like what my dad and mom described when they raised me lol.)

A few minutes later Rebbeca put the food she had cooked on the table. Hiruzen was to grab one with his hand. I smacked it lightly and he retreated. "Remember what me and your mom said?" I raised an eyebrow at the embarrassed child.

"No eating before everyone is at the table," he muttered. I nod at him.

'Mom did the same thing with me when I was little.'

Rebecca. Done with cleaning and cooking. Finally, sit at the table beside me and in front of Hiruzen. We prayed to God if he was real in the traditional catholic manner. Right when we were about to eat my phone rang. It is an old iPhone 6. I haven't replaced it yet because it wasn't broken. "Looking at the caller's name, my eyes widened for a second. Rebbeca was looking at me and I understood immediately what she meant. Turning off the phone we eat in peace.

"Nathaniel Russell," I flinched hearing Rebbeca using my full name. Hiruzen stopped eating knowing the severity of the situation. "Who was that?"

"I haven't read the name yet. I don't know." I replied as calmly as possible.

"That's not who I think it is right?" This time I'm sweating bullets. "You promised no more missions if you're in the reserve."

"I know, that's why I turned off the phone," she seemed satisfied with my answer and continued to eat.

"Dad," Hiru said while fidgeting with his food.

"yes? What is Hiru?"

"The school told us that two days from now they told us to bring our dads to school to tell them about their jobs and stuff. Can you…"

"Sure. What should I wear?"

"Just your usual. The teacher just wants the dad to tell them about their experiences," explained my son. I give him a thumbs up and be beamed. We continued eating our food.

A couple of minutes later someone knocked on the door. Rebbeca and I groaned at the same time. We decided with rock paper scissors for who'd open the door. I lost.

' Naruto it's him,' Kurama warned me.

'I promised my wife not to take any mission and they know that. What kind of mission that made them pull me back from reserve to active duty?'

' Whatever it is, it's probably important. If the JSOC leader tried to contact you.' I have to agree with him. The old general never visited me face to face unless it was important. Like the time he instructed me to extract a Russian nuclear bomb that was sold by a corrupt oligarch to Iran. That mission was fun.

Opening the door just as Kurama warned General Raymond wearing a formal black suit accompanied by two bodyguards with similar dress codes. "Hello, Nathan. Your unsurprised face told me you expected me. There it is again with you and your fox sense. Can we come in?"

"Guns." I motioned forward my hand instructing them to give it to me. The bodyguards seemed insulted but were immediately calmed down by General Raymond.

"Just listen to him. Even if you two have a gun and he's unarmed we'd all be dead if he wanted to." Taking General Raymond's advice seriously. They gave me their pistols and get this a fuckimg grenade!!! I twitched my eyes seeing the explosive and the ones that brought it to the front of my house. Whipping my head I signaled them to come inside.

"Naru, who are they?" Asked Rebecca.

"General Raymond, miss, we have an important matter we must discuss with your husband," General Raymond introduced himself. Rebbeca glared at me and I could only shrink back in fear.

"Just make it fast, we're eating dinner," Rebbeca told us without a word. I guided them to the basement of the house. In the basement, we stared at a wall.

"Why are we here Nathan?" asked General Raymond. I didn't answer him, instead just showed them. Pushing the bricks in a certain combination. The brick revealed a keypad of strange symbols only I can understand (fuinjutsu note) and type in. With a slight hiss, a bunker was opened. Inside are stacks of food, a motorcycle with a third wheelie, a table, beds, furniture for 6 people, and guns; lots of guns, mostly pistols, bolt action, and shotguns.

"Don't worry, all of them are legal in Connecticut. And yes the paperwork was hell." This state doesn't like guns. Which I think it's both idiotic and smart. Sitting on the table the bodyguards gave me glasses for me and the General to wear. They rolled out a foldable black fabric with a data cable inserted on the site. Clapping my hand the room went dark. With the help of the glasses provided for me, the AR image appeared revealing the world map in 2d form on top of the foldable black fabric. 'That's JSOC for you. Always get the best gear.' The map zoomed in on Syria. On top of the map, there's a marker for a town near Turkey deep in ISIS territory. "ISIS again? I thought it would be more important." Rather than answering my question. General Raymond snapped his finger. The marker turned into a picture of a certain man. A man with a bounty of 25 million dollars.

"Exactly 7 hours ago a Kurdish SDF intelligence asset reported the location of Bagdadi. The president ordered an assassination order. We agree when we suggest sending a team of Delta operatives, rangers, and Kurdish special forces. The President refuses because he wants Baghdadi to be "dead, dead." So after much deliberation, we decided to send you alone."

"If he wants him 'dead, dead." Sending three elite units is enough. Why does JSOC have to make the mission harder? Or better yet why don't you just bomb that place with the mothers of all bombs?" I said in confusion. Sending two special operation groups and the ranger battalion is overkill when trying to kill one guy. With some air support, they'll be almost invincible against anything ISIS can throw at them. So why does the president want to turn this mission into Metal gear solid?!!?

"We both know that sending a missile will put civilians and more importantly intel at risk of being destroyed. This kind of mission needs the precision of a doctor with a scalpel." He explained. I let out a breath of rumination thinking about all the options I have.

"No. I'm done with that kind of stuff. I have a family to take care of. Sending me alone is unnecessary. A team of Delta is enough to take care of him." General Raymond sighed.

"I figured you would say that." He gets up from sitting. "There's no convincing you isn't it?" I nodded. "Even if half of the bounty will be transferred to you?"

"Even if half of the bounty is transferred to me."

……

The reason why Baghdadi is located faster in this timeline is that Mosul was recaptured faster from ISIS because of Naruto.

I'm the next 3-month im going to be busy so I can get into a good university. My dream is to become a diplomat so I have to prioritize my studying. The upload schedule will be inconsistent. But I'm not abandoning this fic.

(This part of the story is non-canon. I was originally going to write Naruto agrees to do the mission but after consideration, it will not work in the story. But I've written it and don't want to waste 2 hours of my day on the drain just like that.)

Not-canon

fine. I'll do the mission, but you have to convince my wife," General Raymond blink.

"I can handle that," he said with arrogance.

'he can't.'

…….

Next day,

Sunday, 21.00, northern Syria.

They did not mess around. The toys they gave me look expensive as fuck. Poison bullet, 5.7 fn pistol, and a mark 18 battle rifle with thermal imaging. And that's just the gun!! My body armor (more like a suit) is flexible, too flexible. It's kinda discomforting how flexible it is. The helmet this time fully covered my face with a metallic mask. The last iteration only covered my eyes.

"Admiring the new equipment?" a guy screamed at me but the sound of the plane was too loud when the cargo door was opened. He's wearing a blank white mask and a black combat suit.

"WHAT?!!"

The man's mask palmed and whipped out a radio. He tapped at the communication device and then his head. Understanding what he meant I closed my helmet with a button near my ear.

"Hello, can you hear me?" I heard a voice inside the helmet.

"Copy," I answered.

"Communications check," he coughed, "allow me to explain the new feature inside the helmet. If you tap the side of your index finger with your thumb twice you can mark the enemy even if he or she is behind cover the range is 20 kilometers." I looked at him and tapped the side of my finger twice. The outline of his body is blue and the text that called him friendly.

"Wait, how does that work?!"

"I'll answer it as vaguely as possible, satellite. On the top left corner of your Hud." There's a hud? " My helmet glowed on the inside with a blueish color as all assortment of indicators popped out. Maps, compass, objective, and even ammo count. "We designed it to gimmick Halo 3 hud but we removed the shield indicator, obviously."

"My toys weren't this advanced when I joined the reserve," I muttered loudly.

"You can thank our partner at Microsoft for that. What you're wearing right now is the most expensive gear America has made. We expect the inferior version to be used for infantry in the next 10 years or so.

"This mission is also a weapon test isn't it?" He nodded, answering my question. "How much does this suit cost?"

"More or less equivalent to an f-35b." my heart sank hearing the cost. "Don't worry if you break it we're not going to hold you responsible." I take a deep breath of relaxation.

"That's good to hear. What's your name?" I asked.

"That's a secret. Before you ask, I work for DARPA," he said. That explained the tech I'm wearing. The cargo plane was lit with a green light. "Well, good luck. There's a glider and a parachute inside that suit, just say the command and it'll deploy. Happy hunting fox." He salutes me. I salute back. Running outside the plane I dive into the air with a backflip.

There is moisture building up on my screen. I wiped it and followed the recommendation of the HUD where I should move. Seeing the altitude on my HUD I noticed that I'm not going to make it if I don't deploy my glider. So I did.

"Deploy glider!" I instruct the suit. The fabric expands from the side of my body slowing my fall. Even if it's dark I used the clouds as cover even if there's little of them. Seeing the designated landing point I retracted my glider and. "Deploy parachute." A couple of minutes later I touched the sandy ground and the parachute rerolled itself. 'I've only worn this for exactly 10 minutes and I've already fallen madly in love.'

I landed 1 kilometer from the target location. Closing the distance I ran with the help of chakra. 100 meters near it I heard the sound of multiple cars and light coming from the direction of the base. Looking around trying to find cover I found a rock formation behind it. The patrol convoy drove past me, but I can hear their radio for some reason. 'That's neat.'

"This is General Raymond to FOX, how's the landing?" I heard on my radio.

"Smooth sir. Making my way to target now," I gave him my report.

"Bring your A game FOX the president and his cabinet are watching you from a drone. It'll also give you intel and air strike whenever you see fit. Other than the drone we prepared a destroyer and nearby f 15s as fire support. You'll extract via air CIA style. Remember to kill every combatant in that compound and if you can capture Baghdadi. Raymond out."

'Well, that's neat. Air support is never unwelcome.'

Minutes later the compound is zoomed on my helmet. It is walled with 4 guard towers making an almost square geometry. The gate is guarded by a machine gun nest and 4 men. While the guard tower is manned by two people and one of them is sleeping. Switching my view to the drone I see inside the wall that there's an overwatch that watches the walls and towers making it impossible for me to take out the guards without sounding the alarms. The courtyard is bare with only 3 people inside them. Looking for any entrance I spotted a sewage butter coming out of the compound. It looked dry with only a puddle of ew.

"I'm going to regret this." crawling on the ceiling of the gutter I tried not to even skimp the water as I don't want to smell like poo and compromise the mission. (row-row the boat) 'crawl-crawl on top of a gutter I see a floating shit, thank God this suit has a fucking air filter. It's off-tune.'

After that horrible experience, I whipped out my 5.7 first then switched back to my MK 18. I was tempted to pull the trigger on the guy that was manning the overwatch but I curb those feelings as even if my gun is suppressed it was still loud enough that it will alert any surrounding enemy. Instead, I take out two knives and just throw them through his head and voice cords so he can't scream. I was confident that it wasn't loud enough but I was wrong and a guy is climbing toward the overwatch alone!! 'This is too similar to MGS.' taking out another two knives the guy dropped dead.

'Should've brought 300 blackout ammo.'

Next, I take out the three guards in the courtyard with my knife and two guards in the guard tower again with a knife. Opening the door of the main compound u used my 5.7 as an opening weapon. 2 women, and one guy stare at me. The adults grabbed their weapons. "So much for stealth." holstering my pistol, I used my rifle to take the point.

Hearing someone descending downstairs I trained my weapon toward the stairs and gun down the man. Moving methodically I eliminate the ones upstairs. No sign of Baghdadi. Using sage mode I sensed a man running with two children presumably his, escaping through a tunnel system. Guided by sage mode I tracked them down.

"Halt," I said in Arabic. The man flings his arm to the side protecting his children. It's him. It seems even evil still loves their children. "If you surrender I promise that your child will be spared and have a new life in America." The man scoffed at my offer.

"And made them corrupted by your heretical value? I would rather spare them than give them a key to hell." He pulled out a detonator wanting to commit suicide with his children thinking fast I shot at his finger and then the cord that connected the switch to the bomb. With speed, I ran up to him. He pulled out a pistol shooting a couple of shots, all of which I dodged by running on the tunnel's wall. Disarming him with a kick to the ground and a second kick to his face. He hits the wall knocking him out instantly. The children that he protected screamed for their parents to wake up.

"This is FOX, the target is unconscious and ready to transport. I also have extra cargo, 2 children to be exact. It's his." There was a moment of silence then the radio speak.

"This is Raymond, good job FOX. Strap the target alone on a balloon while the children will be strapped in with you. You have 10 minutes to extract, the drone spotted the same convoy you've seen previously returning to base,' Radioed the General.

'Isn't that nice,' I thought while twitching my eyes. Somehow I manage to haul the unconscious body and two uncooperative children onto the roof of the car. Seeing the headlight of the convoy I made my choice. "Requesting air support." In a couple of seconds, the convoy exploded. A beautiful sight to behold but a loud one.

Calling the plane that was supposed to drag us I tell him that we're ready. With that, I mounted the inflatable balloon on Baghdadi's back and filled it with air by some DARPA magic I'm too stupid to understand. I pulled out a rope and the balloon was inflated. The man woke up at the last second only to scream as he ascended into the air. That made me chuckle. Trying the children with me I pulled out a rope and my body jerked upward because of the balloon. One of the children let out a scream of pure terror (heh) while the other was of happiness. The parachute was caught by the plane tether and I was reeled into the plane.

"This is the most boring mission I have ever undertaken."
