Recap...

"I've dealt with stubborn rookies before. Let's say I'm a pro." Whitney jokes. Before walking towards the med bay. Sakura rolls her eyes at the joke, before heading towards the top of the deck. Wondering what Edward wished to speak about.

Hopefully it would be about her occupation as a doctor. And her joining under the first division. Oh how sSakura longed to start healing again. Hands and chakra itching to be used.

"You wanted to speak with me?" Sakura asks, stepping inside the large room. Edward sat in his bed, a jug in his left hand. He had a grin on his face, so Sakura's worries were lessoned as she closed the door.

"Ah, yes. First, I must thank you for looking over Ace despite it not being your job." Edward began, setting down the jug of alcohol.

Sakura smiled sheepishly, shifting in her spot. "It's no problem at all." She replied.

"Yes, yes, you doctors." Edward chuckled, shaking his head.

"But for the real reason I've brought you here today." He cleared his throat, and Sakura's back straightened.

"You're a capable doctor. From what we've all witnessed. You'd be a valuable asset to our crew. Which is why im offering you a place under our first division." Edward begins, and Sakura can feel her heart spike at the offer.

"Of course, I will allow you time to think on it-" he starts, but Sakura cannot help but cut him off.

"I'd love to! I mean- I'd like to... work under the first division." Sakura rushes out, her face flushing with mild embarrassment.

Edward laughs, the loud booming sound echoing around the confined space. He doesn't seem to mind Sakura's impatient reply one bit.

Sakura cannot stop the grin from overtaking her face. Giddy with happiness and excitement. Oh how she missed healing. Before she can get ahead of herself, Sakura calms down her racing heart, clearing her throat and lifting her head up to meet Edward's gaze.

"Are there... any qualifications I need first? Must I also call you Oyaji as the others do? Not that im against it... im just wondering is all." Sakura says, catching herself half-way and trying to come across as confused as to not anger the large man.

Edward shakes his head. "All of my children take my mark, eventually. But since you are a world away from home, I will not ask you to do so. Not unless you wish. And Oyaji is not necessary as well. It is something I enjoy yes, but again- I will not force you to do anything you do not want to do." He explains slowly.

Sakura's gaze flicks over his face, searching for any deception but not finding anything. Letting out a much needed breath.

"When you say mark, what do you mean?" Sakura asks quietly, wracking her brain for the possible meaning. She had a few theories, none of which she has had confirmed.

"I'm sure you've seen Marcos chest. A mark of my crew. A tattoo, if you are familar with that term. All I ask, that's when you get the mark it should be visible for anyone to see." Edward begins, shifting in his spot on the bed.

"for safety precautions. Since my crew is so large." Edward laughs.

Sakura thinks over his words, before shrugging her shoulders. She knew ANBU had a small tattoo to show their occupation in the village. It would be no different. But she's never tried to get a tattoo before. And part of Sakura wondered if her body would try to naturally heal it. Would sea stone work to counter that? Sakura didn't know until she tries it out.

"Then I accept. The tattoo as well" Sakura says.

Her words seem to light a fire in Edward's eyes. Or her Captian now, she supposed.

To think she was a kunoichi. Now a pirate. Of course, she missed her village dearly. She missed Tsunade and Ino. Even that knuckle head Naruto. She missed being a ninja and flying through the trees.

But now she was on the ocean. Surrounded by people who seemed so close- like a family. She would always be a Kunoichi. A doctor. And now a pirate. A grin broke out across her face at the thought.

"Wonderful. I'll let Marco and the commanders know. And I'll let you meet up with Izou. He does the tattooing." Edward says, standing up from his bed. The wooden floor creaked underneath him as he walked to stand in front of Sakura.

"Welcome to the Whitebeard Pirates, Sakura." Edward said softly, his eyes dropping.

Sakura grinned cheekily. "Thanks for having me, Captian."

"There are multiple options. Different types. Thatch has his on his ankle. Marco has his on his chest." Izou explains.

"Mines quite small, on the top of my hand." He says, reaching out and showing Sakura his hand.

It's quite a simple tattoo. Sakura easily recognizes the skull and long white mustache similar to the one she saw on Edward's back.

Should she go small? Big? Sakura pondered quietly, unsure of what to do. Incase her friends did find her eventually, and if she were to leave- she'd have this tattoo forever. It would have no meaning back in Konoha. Sakura was sure Ino would make fun of her for it too. And what if Sasuke? Would he even want someone with a tattoo..

"I can tell you're thinking quite hard on this. If it's too soon, I can always come back." Izou whispers, placing a comforting hand on Sakura's shoulder.

Sakura shurgging, pursing her lips in thought. Before internally slapping herself over the head. How could she be so stupid? Sakura could easily heal the tattoo if push came to shove.

"It's like it on my back." Sakura says, finally coming to a conclusion.

Izou's brows raised slightly. "Small? Or large?"

"Large. I want it to cover my back like Captains." Sakura replied. Eyeing Izou.

The man looked a little surprised and perhaps a little hesitant. But Sakura was going to go big with this.

"I know about the rule, of the tattoo showing. I'll have some clothes commissioned to show my back, until then it will probably be covered." Sakura says, talking mostly to herself.

If need be, she could always make her clothes herself. Her mother had taught her the basics. And Sakura had watched Ino enough to be confident in her ability. Izou seemed happy with her reply, and pointed to the long table-like chair.

"Then we can start. If you don't mind, you're shirt will need to go. Lay down on your stomach to." Izou instructed.

Sakura nodded, and pulled her shirt off. Her back facing Izou to save her the embarrassment of him seeing her naked. She walked forward, and maneuvered herself onto the chair. Resting her chin on the palms of her hand.

"This should take only a few hours at most. Try not to move too much." Izou instructed.

"Sounds good." Sakura hummed, letting her eyes fall shut. Pulling her chakra away from the area he would be working on. No need to heal his hard work the moment the needle hit her skin.

Izou gently wrapped her new tattoo. Before handing her her shirt back. "All is good. It looks great, seriosuly." Izou whispered to her.

Sakura grinned, and pulled the shirt over her head. She rolled her shoulders, stretching her sore muscles.

"I'm glad you decided to join us, Sakura. Really." Izou said after some time. The silence thick in the air until it was broken.

She hummed in reply, turning to face Izou. "I would pass up such an opportunity. Plus, I like you guys." She answered him.

Izou bid her farewell, before turning around to clean up all his supplies. Sakura walked from the room, down the hallway and up onto the deck. The sun shines brightly in the sky, and Sakura basked quietly in the heat.

Before the sound of footsteps caught her attention. Opening her eyes, she barely moved out of the way as Portgas D. Ace rushed past her. His footsteps stomping aggressively on the ground.

Sakura looked back, but no nurse or Doctor were in sight. Did he leave the medical bay in secret? He wasn't supposed to be up and moving at all. Let alone be left to wonder the ship alone.

Turning back, she watched Ace as he approached Edward. Pointing at the larger man and telling something inaudible to Sakura.

Scowling, Sakura stalked towards the two. She hated patients who didn't listen to the doctors. Ace reminded Sakura of Kakashi- always avoiding the hospital. He only stayed whenever she or Tsunande physically knocked some sense into him. Which she was about to do to this brat.

"Hey!" Sakura called out. Gaining he two's attention. Edward smirked, before laughing loudly as she approached.

Ace scowled, hands on his hips. "What do you want? I only have business with your Captian!" Ace raised his fist angrily in the air.

Sakura rolled her eyes, watching as Ace made the mistake to turn his attention back to Edward. And only when Sakura saw flames flickering on his skin, did Sakura bring her hand swiftly into the back of his head. Hard enough to knock the teen unconscious.

Fumming, Sakura bent down and hauled the teen onto her shoulder. Muttering something about Naruto, and Kakashi. Troublesome boys who didn't know how to shut up and listen.

Sakura walked back towards the direction of the med bay. Ignoring Edward's loud laugh, and gawking looks of bystanders. Sometimes force was needed, and Ace needed to heal. Only then, would Sakura allow him to attack her new captain. It's not like the teen even stood a chance.
