It was only a matter of time before he was enrolled, too. His mother wants two Victor children, not one.
He has to learn swordfighting, too. He'd always thought that the big spiky balls looked way cooler, but the trainer told him that he was too little for them. So swords it was.
The lessons are really boring. Wonder has to stand in line with everyone taking turns doing the various positions the trainer taught them. One at a time. Moving at a snail's pace. With the trainer constantly stepping in to correct them, which holds everyone else up even longer.
They get told off for fidgeting, too. Supposedly to teach them proper discipline, but Wonder likes to think it's just because the trainer is a meanie.
Especially towards him. Wonder is constantly getting reprimanded for tiny little things, like swaying from side to side when his feet hurt, or not paying enough attention. It's not his fault, though. These lessons are boring.
One day, Wonder yawns, really loudly. Louder than he intended. He couldn't help it. It just came out.
But the trainer goes ballistic. Yelling at him about how disrespectful and undisciplined he is, and how he only makes things harder for others. Wonder stands there and takes it without crying. He's not a girl.
Besides, this only proves how mean the trainer is.
When the trainer pulls aside his mom and tells him about all the microaggressions, and when his mom gets mad and puts him in time-out once they get home, Wonder realises that she must be super serious about these swordfighting lessons.
