A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…
Star Wars
Knights of the Old Republic
Episode I
Revan's chronicle
We are 4000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire and the Skywalker saga but the Republic is already on the verge of collapse, despite the many thousands of years, they never learn anything. The Dark Lord Darth Malak, apprentice of Darth Revan the Dark Mistress, has unleashed an invincible Sith armada on the unsuspecting and peaceful galaxy.
Defeating all obstacles, Malak's war left the Jedi Order scattered and vulnerable as the Jedi fell in battle and more defected to the Dark Side and pledged allegiance to the Sith Lord Darth Malak.
In the skies of Taris, a neutral Outer Rim world, a Jedi-led battle fleet is trying to approach Malak's forces in a desperate attempt to test the Sith's galactic dominance…
The darkness of space was illuminated by the planet Taris, with the Republic ship Endar Spire trying to move through the system quietly and stealthily, but the chance of this was immediately reduced to zero after more and more red laser beams hit the frigate. Shots, explosions and electrical fires erupted from Endar Spire. Although they fired green laser beams as return fire from the frigate, it became clear that the battle was lost and that it wouldn't last much longer.
Explosions, gunshots and shocks, these were heard by the girl sleeping in the lonely cabin, who, despite the clear noises of the battle, tried to go back to sleep, but in vain. With a big explosion, her different colored eyes, the right one's blue and the left one's gray, popped out. Terrified, she sat up, her long, disheveled black hair covering her left, gray eye, but she nervously looked around to see if she was just dreaming. Another explosion and the sound of the alarm assured her that she was very much awake and very much in trouble.
She carefully got out from under her blanket, put her bare feet on the hard, cold floor of the office and looked around, then looked at herself, she was wearing a red, one-piece, body-hugging sleeping suit that didn't cover much, her narrow hips, her plump and shapely breasts despite her small and petite stature and a lot of could be seen from her small body.
The door to her personal cabin opened and a group of Republic soldiers marched in, joined by a large man wearing the same red and yellow Republic Soldier uniform as the others. He had short, cropped blond hair and a freshly shaved face, and a blaster pistol hung on his right side and a short sword on his left side, with at least 3-4 grenades on his belt.
- My name is Ensign Trask Ulgo and we were attacked by a Sith fleet, ma'am! - He saluted, not even bothering to glance at the girl's small but shapely body, it was clear that the girl, even though she was much smaller than him, was his superior. - The Endar Spire's under attack and we don't have much time!
- Got it! - The girl nodded, signaled to the soldier that he didn't have to stand guard and hurried to the chest next to her bed to put on her own white blouse, dark gray officer jacket, which only had a few orange colors, and her dark gray pants, which she attached with a stealthy generator belt together, black socks, a pair of black boots and a pair of dark gray gloves. An elegant, specially designed blaster pistol, which she placed in the holster on her right side and finally, a graceful, elegant and light vibroblade, she strapped to her left side in her sleeve. - Report! - She demanded as she dressed. - The condition of the ship and the position of Bastila Shan?
- The ship can't last much longer, ma'am but I don't know anything about Bastila's situation, but everyone, including yourself, has sworn to protect her, I'm sure she's still alive! With you on our side, maybe some of us have a chance to get out of this ship alive!
- Do you think so? - She asked as she buttoned up her shirt, which made her feel a little bigger and stronger.
- Of course, Major Spring! - I've heard a lot about your abilities, excellent strategist, first class diplomat, talented mechanic, infiltrator and fearsome vibroblade wielder! No wonder the Republic chose you for this mission, Major! I hope you shine your skills for us too!
- Don't be afraid until you see me. – The girl, after she tied her black hair in a pony tail walked with confident, measured steps in front of the soldiers serving her, there were only 6 of them.
Before they could go any further, the soldier, who was the senior on the team, received a message on his comm link on his arm.
- This is Carth Onasi, - A male voice spoke from the other side. – a group of Sith soldiers are heading towards your position! You better be prepared!
- Isn't Onasi only a pilot? – The girl asked, while Trask stood guard.
- Yes, ma'am! Officially, he is but Carth Onasi, one of the star pilots of the Republic and perhaps seen more battles, even yourself! If he says the situation is bad, then it's serious! - He looked at his soldiers. - Alright, boys, get into position!
The soldiers, after a salute, went out of the cabin and took up a defensive position at the end of the corridor, then at the sign of the major, they continued slowly but carefully. The soldier in the front stopped when a red laser beam hit him and immediately looked in the direction of the shot.
- Sith! – He shouted, while his companions, hiding against the wall, looked at him, showing two fingers, informing his companions of the number of the enemy.
The major shared an excellent plan with his soldiers, who nodded in agreement.
She turned on her cloaking belt, which made it appear as if she had become invisible, then slowly sneaked behind the enemy Sith soldiers. She took out her elegant pistol and pointed it at the leg of one of the soldiers and fired.
The Sith soldier fell to the ground screaming and the other soldier only had time to see his comrade lying on the ground and screaming, but only for a moment he saw the tiny woman in the officer's jacket, who, without batting an eye, pointed the pistol perfectly at the unarmored part of his neck and pulled the trigger and died instantly.
She stood towards the other soldier who was clutching his leg, they were completely identical in their dark gray and black armor and helmet, but the soldier's fear was clear.
- Please…! I have wife and children... - Not even hearing the sobs of the soldier, she pulled the trigger without hesitation.
- It was amazing, ma'am! – The soldiers came out from the corridor one by one, feeling a little redundant that their diminutive superior had neutralized the enemy so easily.
- Fight smart, not only hard. - She answered, and he nodded that it was time to go on.
They reached another door behind which 2 more Sith soldiers were stationed and immediately opened fire on the first Republic soldier they saw.
The other soldiers, to avenge the death of their comrade and to prove themselves to the major, returned fire and quickly executed the enemy.
They moved on, they came to a larger crossroads, where a more serious firefight was taking place. At least 10 Sith soldiers cornered 4 other Republic soldiers, but they didn't last long either. The 4 survivors still managed to kill a Sith, but two others, who didn't care about their companion's death, threw a grenade at the Republicans, who immediately died in the explosion.
The Sith couldn't rest for long, because the new Republic detachment arrived and both sides immediately opened fire. Beams of white and red lasers flew here and there, but the Major, taking a grenade off one of the dead soldiers, threw it at the enemy, taking at least 3 Sith with it.
Unfortunately, the Sith planned the same thing and just as they executed the rest of the previous team, 2 soldiers were about to throw a grenade at the same time, but one of the Republic soldiers, aiming dead-on, fired one of the grenades in the air, which didn't harm anything with an early explosion, but the other could no longer be stopped and landed exactly where it could have inflicted a fatal wound on the entire team.
Another soldier realized this in a flash and threw himself on the grenade without thinking.
BANG
Blood and entrails flew everywhere, covering his companions and his superior, then, determined not to let their companion's self-sacrifice be for nothing, they opened fire and managed to kill 2 more Sith.
The Sith didn't give up and managed to kill another Republic soldier. Seeing that the Sith were falling back, the blonde soldier attempted to throw another grenade, which successfully killed two more Sith soldiers. The remaining 2 didn't last long.
After the long firefight, the silence seemed unnatural, but the shaking of the ship reminded everyone that they weren't yet saved. They had to go on, the major led them to another door, but before she opened it, she stopped and signaled to her soldiers to stop. She put her ear to the door and heard a strange but very familiar buzz.
She opened the door and two lightsaber wielding figures were dueling in the hallway, a woman in a light brown outfit, white pants and reddish-brown boots wielding a blue lightsaber gracefully yet powerfully fought against a man dressed in all black who wielded a red lightsaber powerfully and brutally fought her.
- A Dark Jedi! - Trask shouted. - We don't stand a chance against him! – He signaled to the soldiers not to open fire because they would only harm themselves. - Let's just pray she beats him.
The duel didn't last long, because the man, if he was physically stronger, the woman was faster and more agile, she easily avoided the brutal blows and with a lightning-fast spin, she cut the man in two. She fell to her knees from exhaustion and as he panting looked at the Republic soldiers. As she looked at the men with a smile, she spotted the only petite woman in an officer's uniform, who seemed to scare her.
Before she could speak, a red energy beam hit her in the head, then another in the stomach and two in the chest, killing her instantly.
- Damn it! - Trask cursed. - That Jedi was Bastila's partner! Your help would be great!
Another group of Sith soldiers appeared at the end of the corridor and opened fire on the onlookers of the Republic. Although their numbers were equal, the Republicans now had the advantage, because they could take cover more easily and returned fire and finished off the Sith without losing any lives.
The next stop was the bridge, where another tough firefight awaited them. A battle between a dozen Sith soldiers and half as many soldiers was taking place in the command center, to which our heroes joined as reinforcements, attacking the outnumbered Sith from behind.
The Sith, after most of them fell, realized they were caught between two fires, so in their desperation, they each threw a grenade at the windows and with a great explosion, the vacuum of space began to suck the air, equipment and everything else out of the from a command center.
All the Sith soldiers, the Republic soldiers fighting here, were all killed in space. Thanks to the many sparks and explosions, a door leading to another corridor opened, which Trask grabbed onto and managed to pull himself out.
However, her superior wasn't so lucky, seeing how the petite female officer was struggling, he was faced with a dilemma, he could close the door and lie that it was an accident, or go back and risk his life, try to save his superior.
He chose the latter, held on with all his strength, went further and further, extended his hand, which she caught with her own, tiny, gloved hand, and the soldier was able to pull it back, all the way to the door, which he then closed with the deadbolt.
They both sighed and were glad to be able to fill their lungs with air properly. They didn't have much time to rest, because on the other side, another door opened and a man in black armor, bald, and bearded entered, wielding a red, double-bladed lightsaber.
- Another Dark Jedi! - Trask stated, handing over his comm link to his superior, then taking out his own vibrosword, he stood up against the man. - I'll hold him up, run! Find Carth!
The girl didn't answer, she just nodded, thanked and left Trask alone, who had saved her life twice in less than 5 minutes, but he would never be able to thank properly.
Alone and lonely, after the death of all her soldiers, she continued in determined way. The comm-link the soldier gave her rang again.
- This is Carth Onasi, Trask, can you hear me? Trask, answer! - It was the same man who spoke in her cabin on this comm-link. She raised it to her lips and spoke in her thin, high but firm voice.
- Trask and the others didn't survive. I was the only one left.
- He didn't... - There was surprise and disappointment in his voice. - Damn, he was a good soldier. Whoever you are, the command center has been blown up and our life support system has been destroyed and we're running out of oxygen! The good news is that Bastila escaped with an escaping pod, the bad news is that there is only one pod left! No more than 10 minutes and the ship will be destroyed! If you're not here within 10 minutes, I have to leave without you! Hurry! I can't wait for you long!
- I'll be there! – The girl, as if she just seemed to have lost her head, shouted nervously into the comm-link. - Just wait!
Reaching another corridor, she saw a pile of Sith soldiers retreating at a quick but steady pace. "Obviously they're evacuating," she thought to herself and turned on her cloaking generator again.
The quick evacuation caught the Sith off guard, so he had no trouble sneaking past them. Apparently, they were also informed that Bastila is no longer here on the ship, so it would be unnecessary for them to stay any longer and die pointlessly, so they retreat.
For at least 9 minutes, the girl sneaked around the corridors of the ship, covered with dead bodies, like a little mouse, but she finally reached the room of the rescue cabins. She opened the door to find a tall, large man wearing a Republic military uniform. Unlike the other soldiers, his brown hair was a little longer, slicked back, although a few strands still hung over his forehead and he had a slight stubble. A converted pistol hung in his holster.
The girl looked at the corpses of Sith soldiers lying on the ground, of which she saw at least 20, "How did he kill this one alone?!", she thought, shocked.
- You arrived just in time! – The man was nervous. - I was about to leave without you!
- Quick! – The girl didn't hesitate to trust him and immediately jumped into the last pod, he followed her, then closed it and started it.
The pod launched and quickly, like a rifle bullet, was fired from the spaceship, which exploded seconds later. The explosion shook the cabin and the girl's safety belt was damaged and if the man hadn't caught her in time, she would have broken her neck.
Unfortunately, it got worse when they got into the planet's atmosphere as the gravity made it difficult for him to hold her with one hand, but on impact everything fell apart, he almost broke his arm trying to hold her, but eventually she slipped out of his grasp and she fell straight into the it hit the floor and didn't move.
After making sure the cabin was safely on the ground and he was fine, he quickly disengaged his harness to rush to the aid of the girl who was lying in a pool of blood on the floor. "Sh*t!" he fretted, then quickly flipped her onto her back, pressing his ear to her chest, checking to see if she was still alive, but thankfully, she was breathing. He checked her arms, legs, and spine for any broken bones, luckily, they were intact. The only thing that worried him was the bruise on her forehead that was bleeding profusely.
He quickly bandaged her wound with a piece of cloth, lifted her up, she wasn't heavy at all, exited the cabin and ran towards an abandoned alley with his wounded, unconscious companion. He didn't even look around, there were only a few onlookers who looked at them, but they were much more interested in the cabin they came out of.
He headed for a more deserted apartment, where he found an empty, dusty apartment that hadn't been used by anyone for quite some time. Laying her down on the dusty bed to tend to her injuries, he removed the rag and using a first aid kit, cleaned the wound on her forehead and bandaged it. He considered it a small miracle that she was alive and that nothing was broken, although the wound on her forehead was very serious, there was a chance that he might not wake up.
He took off the girl's boots, shirt and undressed her so that only her red sleeping clothes remained. It was only now that he took a close look at the girl, who was pretty small under her uniform, but despite that, her body was sufficiently trained, despite her narrow hips, she had ample breasts, a cute, snub nose and full lips. He was flooded with heat for a moment and shook his head, "No! I could even be his father!".
Leaving the unconscious girl on the bed with that, he thought it wiser to make sure no one was looking for them.
The girl rolled around on the bed confused, as if she had a nightmare and nervously blew air in and out and began to whimper uncomfortably.
She heard a lightsaber roar, they were on a spaceship that looked completely different than Endar's Spire.
She saw a woman with brown hair tied back in two braids and holding a double-bladed yellow lightsaber, a black cloaked man fighting him with a red lightsaber.
And that is all.
The girl's eyes popped open and she found herself in a completely unfamiliar environment. In an old, abandoned house, which, apart from 4 beds and some furniture, was completely empty. Pain shot through her head, she touched her forehead and felt the bandage on it, then she was shocked to realize that she was only wearing her red nightgown and she nervously wrapped the blanket around herself and nervously squeezed her toes together. She was worried that maybe the Sith had found her and were waiting to torture her.
The entrance to the apartment opened and a familiar figure came in with a bag of food in his hand. The soldier they were traveling with in the pod. "Is he a prisoner too?", he was dressed differently in brown boots, blue jeans and a tan leather jacket that still had his modified ray gun on the side, "They don't give gun to a prisoner… unless he was a spy!".
The girl drew back from him suspiciously, got off the bed and started to back away until he started taking out the contents of the package, ignoring her. She searched for a weapon, but found only an old wrench, which she picked up and clutched as if her life depended on it. The man was bigger and stronger than her, although hse had already faced many opponents who easily underestimated her due to her size, and she didn't hesitate to take advantage of this more than once, especially as an experienced bare-handed fighter.
- I see you woke up. – The man addressed her kindly, and she shuddered and just stared at him suspiciously. - I'm happy for... - When he finally turned towards her, he was shocked to notice that she was hiding in a corner, clutching a wrench and looking at him suspiciously. - Hey, calm down! – Holding up his hands, he slowly approached her. - I'm also a Republic soldier. - He stepped closer. - I rescued you from the pod, brought you here, took care of your injuries and saved your life. Put that down. - The girl lowered her "weapon".
- Where... are my clothes? – The girl asked, her high-pitched voice was demanding, like someone who doesn't tolerate contradiction.
- Here they are. - The man opened the dilapidated wardrobe and she was relieved to note that her officer uniform and weapons were lying there in an unharmed condition. - I had to undress you to see if you had any serious injuries, but nothing serious. Let's just say it's quite surprising how tough you are, compared to how small you are. - The girl narrowed her eyes nervously, indicating that she didn't like people commenting on her height and small stature. She put down the wrench and headed for the closet. - By the way, my name's Carth Onasi, one of the Republic soldiers of Endar Spire. Remember me?
- Yes... - The girl thought and remembered that she ran away with this man and he was the one who waited for her. - My name is Major Rina Spring. - She started to put on her uniform.
- Well... you hit your head really badly, the entire floor of the cabin was full of blood, I thought you were dead. I gathered you up and brought you here, then treated your injuries. Luckily, no one is using this apartment because you've been lying unconscious for a whole day and half an hour ago you started tossing and turning like you're having a nightmare.
- So… did you save me? – She asked, even though she knew the answer and put on her uniform completely. - Thank you.
- Hey, - Carth continued to smile kindly. - no need to thank me. I've never left anyone behind on a deployment and I didn't want to start now. Anyway, I may still need your help. - He continued in a more serious tone. - Taris, the planet we are on, is under Sith occupation. Their fleet blockaded the planet and imposed a military martial law and quarantined the entire planet, but there's no need to panic, I've seen worse. I also saw your file, in addition to being an excellent strategist, infiltrator, mechanic, bare-handed combat and vibro sword and shooting expertise, you know a lot of foreign languages. What I don't understand is how someone can be so talented and high-ranking at such a young age?
- At such a young age?! - Rina asked the question a little offended.
- How old are you? 18? - The girl's different colored eyes opened widened with shock and anger at the same time.
- I'm 28! - She gave a thump after putting on her boots.
- How?! - Carth could hardly believe his ears. - I wouldn't have thought… Anyway, your skills will come in handy considering we're stuck on an alien planet. Because it'd be impossible for the Republic to get here soon enough, there is even less chance that the Republic will break through the blockade. If we want to find Bastila and get off this planet alive, we have only ourselves to rely on.
- Yes, Bastila and her Battle Meditation. - Rina crossed her arms. – Pretty useful ability. Also, she killed Darth Revan, Malak's master. Very impressive for her age.
Both of them were aware that Battle Meditation was an extremely useful ability that would increase the morale of the soldiers of the respective side and make them forget the thought of defeat and reduce their fear.
- It's good to know that your head injury didn't cause any problems with your memory. It was clearly because of her that the Sith attacked us. Bastila landed in the lower regions of the city with another escape pod.
- You're right, Bastila's ability is an extremely valuable asset that will help us win. – Rina agreed, she put away her pistol and sword. - Do you think she's still alive?
- I don't know. Although she's young, she's amazingly talented in the use of the Force. If we survived the fall, maybe she did too.
- Where do you think we're looking?
- While you were knocked out, I looked around the city a bit. I've heard from stray news that some pods have landed in Lower Town. Maybe we should start our search there. Although, Lower Town is a dangerous place, full of gangs and pirates, maybe we should pull ourselves together, buy some supplies and weapons.
- Then let's get started, the sooner we start looking for Bastila, the sooner we can get off this planet.
- Good idea, I think we can use this apartment as a hiding place later, even a space dog won't come here either. - Carth handed Rina a yellow tube and a half-empty bottle of water. - It's not much, but you need to eat something to have strength.
- Thank you. – Rina took the yellow tube, opened it, then tasted the gray something inside, but it had no taste.
- It's not good, but we have almost no money, our last credits went on 2 such tubes and a bottle of water. I already ate mine.
- Um... that's good.
She had to eat it to keep up her strength, but it wasn't enough for half her teeth, probably not even for Carth. Before saving Bastila, it was imperative to get money and buy themselves better equipment.
She thought of these as she left the empty, dusty apartment with Carth by her side.
