Miles away, Kendall relaxes in a beach chair, chatting with Jo on the phone. "Things are going smoothly. Camille is fine. What are James and Carlos up to? I'll go check." He observes them sprinting towards each other as if in a jousting match, colliding and tumbling in the sand, then bursting into laughter.
He breathes out heavily. "They're engaging in some rather foolish antics. Typical. I'm uncertain of Logan and Katie's whereabouts. I believe they've wandered off to the far end of the beach for some leisure time. I wish you were here, but I understand your commitments to the New Town High production are crucial and demanding," he remarks. "Yes, we'll return later this afternoon or possibly in the evening. It depends on my mother. Do you need to leave? Alright, we'll catch up later." He ends the call, sighing wistfully as he longs for her presence.
As the sun began to set, the group started gathering their belongings to head back to the Palm Woods.
Logan confidently pulled up a map on his phone, pointing out the most efficient routes back to Los Angeles to avoid traffic.
Ms. Knight praised Logan for his strategic planning and quick thinking.
"Thank you, Ms. Knight. I always try to stay on top of things," Logan responded humbly.
As they prepared to leave, Ms. Knight reminded everyone to do a final check of their rooms to ensure nothing was left behind.
Suddenly, as the group prepared to leave for the car, Logan and Carlos rushed back inside, engaged in a heated argument.
"Why didn't you use the restroom earlier?" Logan demanded, clearly irritated.
"I didn't need to go then," Carlos retorted, unusually rolling his eyes in frustration.
"Come on, hurry up so we can all head home," Logan insisted, letting out a sigh of impatience.
As Carlos hurried off to the bathroom, Logan, ever the perfectionist, took a moment to rearrange the pillows on the couch to their rightful places.
As Carlos reappears, he questions Logan's decision to accompany him inside without needing to use the bathroom.
"I'm here in case you have a last-minute realization that you forgot something. Are you absolutely certain you packed everything you brought?" Logan responds.
"Of course, Logie," Carlos reassures him.
"Perfect, let's go then. James is already waiting in the passenger seat, and I'd rather not have him honk the horn to hurry us along," Logan says, leading the way out of the beach house. Carlos chuckles and obediently follows behind.
Thirty minutes into the trip, Katie lets out a big sigh. "I'm so bored. Playing my Mario Kart game on my handheld console just isn't as exciting as playing it on the FunBox machine connected to the TV," she complains.
Kendall, engrossed in his hockey magazine, barely looks up. "I'm sure you'll find something else to keep yourself entertained, Katie," he says dismissively.
Feeling disappointed, Katie gazes out of the window, watching the trees and cars pass by. She longs for something to make the journey more enjoyable.
Suddenly, Logan speaks up, offering a solution. "I know a great game we can play to pass the time. It might be a bit childish for you, though," he suggests.
Confused, Katie asks, "What do you mean? How is it childish?"
Logan explains, "Well, the game involves counting the number of cars that pass by in a specific color of your choice. For example, if you decide to count every red car you see, you keep track of how many times one goes by."
Realizing that it could actually be fun, Katie's frown turns into a smile. "That doesn't sound childish at all. It sounds like a lot of fun!" she exclaims.
Relieved, Logan responds, "I'm glad you think so. So, do you really want to play?"
Excitedly, Katie replies, "Absolutely! Let's do it!"
"Great!" Logan says with a grin.
"I shall embark on a quest to spot all the elusive pink cars," declares Katie.
"You may have better luck with a more common color," Logan suggests.
"But pink is my passion! I have seen them with my own eyes," Katie insists.
"I do not doubt their existence, just their scarcity. Pink cars are a rare breed," Logan explains.
"Alas, then I shall search for the mystical purple cars instead," Katie concedes.
"I admire your flexibility. Shall we commence our colorful car hunt? I shall seek out teal vehicles," Logan proposes.
"Let the game begin," Katie agrees.
