Following an hour of engaging in the game, they bring it to a close.
"Why are we still ensnared in this traffic jam? Logan, you claimed to be unwavering in your knowledge of the optimal routes homeward. Yet, here we remain. Your words deceive," James voices his frustration.
Taken aback by the abrupt accusation, "Listen closely, you insulter! I merely provided an approximation. It is impossible to foresee every intricacy of Los Angeles traffic. I never guaranteed a smooth journey devoid of hindrances. My intention was solely to suggest what I deemed the most suitable path for Ms. Knight's return to the Palm Woods. You should enhance your grasp of language, phonetics, and perhaps have your hearing examined! How dare you label me a deceiver!" Logan exclaims in a fit of rage.
"Logan, calm down. Just take a deep breath," Camille says soothingly to her upset boyfriend.
"Cami, I can't calm down and take a deep breath when I have every right to be angry with him. You heard what he said. I won't stand for it," Logan insists.
"James, you really need to apologize to Logan. The directions he gave me were really helpful and we've made great progress getting closer to home. He never promised there wouldn't be traffic. Your behavior towards him was not okay," Ms. Knight scolds.
James sighs, nods, and then turns to Logan who is still glaring out the window. "I'm sorry, Logan. I shouldn't have called you a liar. I'm a terrible friend and brother," he admits.
"You're not a terrible friend and brother. You're just an annoying friend and brother," Logan retorts.
"That doesn't really make me feel less guilty about what I did," James responds.
"It's just my way of saying I forgive you," Logan explains.
"Well, it's a pretty confusing way of doing it, but thanks," James says.
"It appears that traffic is finally starting to move again. We'll be back on the open road in no time," Ms. Knight exclaims.
With cheers from the boys, Katie, and Camille, the journey continues.
Shortly after, Ms. Knight pulls into a gas station to refuel.
"You guys can go pick out some snacks inside," she announces.
"I already know what I want!" Carlos declares.
"Me too!" Katie adds, as they share a high five before darting into the store.
"I bet they're loading up on sugar," Logan remarks with a sigh. "I should probably go keep an eye on them." And with that, he follows them inside.
As Carlos and Katie indulged in starbursts and gummy bears, Kendall, James, Camille, and Logan opted for a feast of chips and pretzels. With their snacks in hand, they all returned to the car.
Carlos, beaming with pride, presented Mama Knight with a delectable chocolate chip muffin. "Behold, a muffin bursting with chocolate chips, a true treasure trove of yummylicious goodness!" he exclaimed.
Logan, the wordsmith of the group, was less than impressed. "Sorry Carlos, but 'yummylicious' isn't a real word. Maybe work on your grammar a bit, dude," he critiqued.
Despite the linguistic critique, Mama Knight graciously accepted the muffin with gratitude. "It's the thought that counts, Carlos. Thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness," she said, savoring the sweet gesture.
"Must you play the role of the grammar guru, Logan? Carlos was simply having some fun as he described that delectable chocolate chip muffin to Ms. Knight," Camille chided.
"I understand that, and gently correcting his grammar can only benefit him in the long run. I'm just helping him set the stage for success, especially when it comes to English and social studies. Those subjects require strong reading comprehension and good oral communication skills - something Carlos excels at, unlike me. I dread giving oral reports. But hey, he's not even upset with me for nitpicking his grammar," Logan explained.
"I welcome the constructive feedback. It's important for me to learn from both him and my errors, so I can enhance my grammar abilities," Carlos mentioned.
