"Logan, does your head feel any relief after that meal?" Camille inquires gently.
"It's improved slightly, but it's still a persistent annoyance," Logan replies.
"Do you think you're coming down with something?" Camille wonders.
"I hope not. Gustavo would not be pleased," Logan confesses.
"Does he even care about your well-being, or Kendall's, James', or Carlos'?" Camille probes.
"He barely shows concern for our health. Sometimes I wonder if he has a heart or a soul. We give our all to deliver stellar performances for our fans, but if we catch a cold or the flu, all he does is gripe. It's always, 'Get better quickly or face my wrath,'" Kendall remarks.
"It's truly disheartening that he lacks compassion and empathy when we're under the weather," James adds.
Camille admires the group's resilience in dealing with their tyrannical boss, Gustavo.
"It's not just about tolerating him, Camille. Kendall's deliberate actions only end up punishing all of us," Logan explains.
Kendall defends himself, saying, "I don't aim to get us in trouble, but sometimes it's just too tempting to push his buttons."
Logan counters, "It's not worth it, Kendall. Gustavo's harsh treatment only leads to long hours in the dance studio and strained vocal cords in the recording booth. Is it really worth the trouble?"
Realizing the impact of his actions, Kendall apologizes, "You're right, Logan. I didn't consider how it would affect everyone, including James and Carlos. I'm sorry."
Logan nodded in agreement. "It's acceptable. Moving forward, you will make an effort to be less bothersome to Gustavo, correct?"
Kendall responded, "I will certainly do my utmost."
"Excellent," Logan replied.
Abruptly, the sound of loud shouts emanated from the play gym area, causing a commotion among the children.
Camille inquired, "What is happening in there?"
Logan, concerned, stated, "I am uncertain, but it appears to be quite distressing. The children inside seem extremely upset."
Ms. Knight added, "Not a single staff member has intervened to address the issue."
Logan urged, "Please send someone to investigate. It could be a serious matter."
Kendall decided, "I will go and assess the situation. Katie and Carlos are inside. What if they are involved in the chaos? They could be in danger."
"James, come with me. Logan, you stay here with Camille due to your headache," Kendall instructed.
Logan, disregarding his headache, stood up and declared, "I refuse to remain behind if Katie and Carlos are at risk."
Camille, concerned, asked, "What about your headache?"
Logan responded firmly, "At this moment, Katie and Carlos take precedence over my cranial discomfort."
They step into the play gym area.
"Hey Carlos, what's going on here? Why is everyone freaking out and where's Katie?" Kendall asks.
"Oh man, she got beat up! It's all my fault! I tried to protect her, but I failed! I failed!" Carlos says, sounding panicked.
"Whoa, calm down. Take a deep breath and slowly explain what happened," Kendall says, trying to reassure him.
"So, there were these teenagers who looked like they were in college. They were going around the place, being mean to all the kids. Pushing them, calling them names, just being really rude. They surrounded a little girl who had an asthma inhaler and took it away from her. She started screaming that she needed it all the time, begging them to give it back, but they refused. That's when Katie saw what was happening and snatched it away from them, returning it to the girl. This made them furious, and they started punching Katie in the face repeatedly. I tried to stop them, but they were too strong. I feel like such a terrible brother," Carlos explains, his voice filled with guilt.
"You're not a terrible brother, Carlos. Where is Katie now?" Kendall asks, trying to comfort him.
"She's hiding in the play gym. She won't come out until those jerks leave. They're trying to climb their way in, but they can't fit inside, so they're just watching her like a pack of savage hyenas. They're right over there," Carlos says, pointing towards them.
Kendall's anger flares up as she walks over to them and shouts, "Get out of here right now, you insane bunch!"
The towering leader of the college clique, donned in a LA Dodgers jersey, twists to face Kendall with a sly grin. "And what's your plan if we decide to stick around? This is none of your business. Scram, loser."
Kendall stands tall, unwavering. "Oh, it's definitely my business. That girl you roughed up? She's my little sister, and I'll protect her from bullies like you and your clueless cronies." Leaning in, Kendall's voice oozes with determination. "You barged in here, ruined these kids' good time, and snatched an inhaler from an innocent child. Do you even realize how dangerous that is?! What if she had an asthma attack? That's her lifeline you took!" Kendall's eyes narrow, his words cutting through the tension. "Then, after she bravely takes back what you stole, you violate her face. That's not just cruel, it's sick. You find joy in tormenting children. That's twisted."
As the tension between the college group leader and Kendall reaches a boiling point, Logan steps in, his voice firm and commanding. "Step back. This doesn't need to escalate into a physical altercation. Your antics have already caused enough chaos for these children. Leave now," he states.
Despite Logan's plea for peace, the college group leader just laughs and cruelly slaps him across the face. Camille, fueled by protective instinct, pushes the aggressor away, defending her boyfriend. "Don't you dare touch him," she warns.
Mockingly, the college group leader taunts Camille for her choice in partners, calling Logan a "piece of garbage." Camille's response is swift and fierce. "Enough," she demands.
Sensing the seriousness of the situation, James issues a cautionary warning to the college group leader. "Listen to her," he advises, his tone laced with a hint of threat. "She's not someone you want to mess with."
