After winning a Rivet Badge from the Steel-Type Gym Leader Irene, Ash and his friends are trying to decide where to head off too next.
Ash, Serena, Vernon, Brock, RotomDex, and Pikachu all sat around a table in front of restaurant, eating lunch.
"So, where are you going from here, Brock?" said Ash.
"Oh, there's actually a lot of jobs I can do throughout Ralia," said Brock. "With Team Shade running around, they leave a lot of injured Pokémon in their wake. I think I'm gonna be sticking around for a while." He took a bite of his sandwich. "So, where to next for all of you?"
"I think I know," said RotomDex, pulling up a map on its screen. "According to my maps, the next Gym resides in Orbarrow City. And it says there'll be another Pokémon Pageant happening there."
"Ooh! That's perfect!" said Serena. Suddenly, she saw the look on Vernon's face. He seemed deep in thought for some reason. "Vernon? What's up?"
"Hmm?" said Vernon. "Oh, it's nothing." He ate a macaron off the plate on the table, before muttering to himself and saying, "Orbarrow City, huh?"
Suddenly, several people stormed past them, in an excited hurry. "Huh?" said Ash. "Hey, what's everyone so excited for?"
A young boy walked up to them, and said, "Are you kidding? Didn't you see the flyers!?"
Everyone turned to view a flyer in the restaurant window, and saw that it showed a young woman with blonde hair, red shades shaped like lightning bolts, and pigtails shaped like lightning bolts. She was before a DJ disc table, with a Low Key and Amped Toxtricitys surrounding her. At the top were printed the words: "DJ Amber is Hittin' Ironriver City 2NITE, Party People!"
"Whoa!" said Brock. "Who's this? She's stunning!"
"Oh, boy..." said Ash, as he knew what was coming next.
"I mean it! I can see us now! And I bet she could even write our own wedding mar- Ack!"
Brock suddenly fell down, behind him, Croagunk holding up a Poison Jab.
"I knew I should have left you at the Pokémon Center a little longer," said Brock.
However, that was when everyone saw Vernon looking at the flyer with a mesmerized look on his face. "Uh, Vernon? Are you okay?" said Serena.
Vernon looked at everyone, and began to blush. "Uh, I- It's- It's not- I-"
As Brock saw him stutter, he suddenly lit with realization. "Oh, I see what's going on." He walked up to Vernon and said, "There's something about that girl that's making you this way, isn't it?"
"Uh, well, the truth is..." Vernon said, rubbing his arm, embarrassed. "Ugh, when I was still famous, Amber and I were close friends. She wrote the musical scores for many of my movies. But then... when I lost my fame, we haven't been talking so much since. I- I guess I was just too embarrassed to face her."
"Oh, that's terrible," said Serena.
"Yeah, I wish I could talk to here now," said Vernon. "Amber... she actually means a lot to me."
Brock watched Vernon look at Amber's picture wistfully, and his suspicions were confirmed. "I understand. I understand perfectly."
"What are you talking about?" said Ash. "He misses an old friend of his. There's nothing else to get."
"Oh, Ash," Serena muttered to herself. "If only you knew."
Pikachu was also looking at its trainer with annoyance. It then looked over to Serena, who looked at Ash with her own wistfulness, and it sighed to itself. How it wished that these two would man up and do it already. But then again, Ash was definitely no good at stuff like this.
"Vernon, we're all gonna take you to that concert to see Amber," said Brock. "And there, you will tell her everything."
"What?!" said Vernon, shocked. "But- I- I can't face her now?"
"Vernon, c'mon!" said Serena. "You just said how much she means to you! You can't possibly want to lose her for good!"
Vernon thought about that for a second, before nodding and saying, "You're right. Let's all get going to that concert."
Later that night, everyone gathered before a huge stage. The crowd was big enough to fit the entire population of Ironriver City. Several mutlicolored lights flashed over the stage, until they showed Amber slowly rising from under the stage, sitting at a DJ Table. A Low Key and an Amped Toxtricity stood on opposite ends of the stage, flashing electricity and playing their chests.
"Where ma party people at!?" Amber shouted. The entire crowd erupted into cheers. "That's right! When I say, 'Woo', you say, 'Yeah!' Woo!"
"Yeah!"
"Woo!"
"Yeah!"
"That's what I like to hear!" said Amber, as she began playing the discs on the table. With that, the entire stadium was bathed in a beautifully-created electric techno mix, as Amber began singing along with it.
Near the front of the stands, the group had a perfect view of Amber on stage. As Vernon saw her, he could only look on longingly.
"Well, she's quite something," said Brock.
"You're telling me," said Vernon. "Always so perpetually chipper, so radiant she lights up every room she enters."
"Yeah, she's bright to look at, I guess," said Ash, shielding his eyes from the light on stage.
"Don't worry, Vernon," said Serena. "If she's really you're friend, I'm sure you two can hit it off again."
"Yeah, then, you can be best friends for life!" said Ash.
Everyone quickly stared at Ash incredulously, as Vernon said, "Uh, no, I didn't want to be her best friend, Ash."
"What? So what, you don't like her anymore?"
"No, I do like her!"
"Then why did you say you didn't want to be friends?"
"I wanted to be... something more..." Vernon said, slightly looking away, his entire head turning red.
"More? What else could there be? How close of friends can you even get?" said Ash.
At this point, everyone would have face faulted had they not been sitting down. "Hang on, guys, I got this," Brock said suddenly. He stood up and pulled Ash away, as Serena and Vernon looked on confused.
Suddenly, Serena felt a vibration in her pocket as Braixen suddenly emerged from its PokéBall.
"Oh, sorry, you wanted to listen to the concert, too?" said Serena.
Pikachu's ears suddenly picked up on Ash and Brock's conversation, as it heard Brock say, "See, what Vernon wants with Amber, it's like... that girl you met from Kalos, Ash." Pikachu saw Ash's face be hit with realization, and then he and Brock walked back over to them, "I'm sorry, I get it now, Vernon. You want to be more than friends with her."
Serena couldn't help but look at him incredulous. Ash was so unbelievably dense when it came to romance... and yet, now he got it?"
Braixen was actually thinking the same thing, but that was when Pikachu suddenly walked up to it and whispered something into its ear, and it eyes grew wide.
On stage, the song finally came to an end, and Amber called out, "Okay, everyone, we're gonna take a little intermission, okay?"
"Perfect, this is our chance!" said Brock.
"Ugh, I don't know about this," said Vernon.
"Relax, Vernon," said Brock, as the group walked to the backstage, "she'll be so glad to see you. And you don't have to worry, 'cause Brock, the Love Doctor, is here to help you win her over."
As the group approached the doors, they saw Amber emerging alongside some guards. "Hey, no one can be back here!" said a guard. "No backstage passes, no-"
"Vernon!" Amber suddenly tore forward and jumped onto Vernon with a big embrace. "I can't believe it! You're here! Oooh, I haven't seen you in so long!"
Vernon tentatively put his arms around her, before she finally let him go. "It's good to see you too, Amber."
"Excuse me," said a guard, "but you all can't be here!"
"Hey, relax, would you?" said Amber. "Vernon here's my bro! I say he can be here, and his friends, too!" The guards just rolled their eyes and walked back inside.
"Hey, I'm Ash, and this is Pikachu," Ash introduced himself.
"Pikachu!"
"I'm Serena, and this is Braixen," said Serena
"Brai!"
"And I'm Brock," said Brock.
"Great to meet you all!" said Amber. "C'mon! You guys can come backstage with me!"
Who's that Pokémon?
Its tail glows bright enough to be seen from space. People have used it as a beacon.
"Whoa!" said Ash, eying up the buffet table. "I can't believe they just leave all this awesome food for you!" Quickly, he began scarfing down anything he could find.
"Ooh, these dresses are so pretty!" said Serena checking out Amber's clothes hanging from a rack.
"Yeah, being a techno star does have it's advantages," said Amber.
Vernon was sitting on the couch looking at Amber from a distance, until he saw Brock standing beside him with an encouraging look. Slowly, Vernon stood up and walked over to Amber.
"So, Amber, how've you been? I mean, we haven't talked for..."
"Yeah... but I've been doing well, I suppose," said Amber. "But what about you? I never heard from you since... uh... you know."
"It's fine, that was a long time ago," said Vernon. "Listen, Amber, I think I owe you-"
Suddenly, a guard came backstage and said, "Excuse me? Miss Amber? It's time to get back on stage."
"Oh," said Amber, before looking back to Vernon. "Sorry, I'll be right back, okay?" She left for the stage, causing Vernon to sigh in sadness.
"Don't worry," said Brock. "We can wait for her to get back."
"Well, come on!" said Ash. "I can see a good place to watch her on stage." He led everyone over to a TV monitor, showing Amber taking the stage again, as all the neon lights bathed her.
Ash looked over to see Vernon still looking on wistfully, and said quietly, "Ah, poor Vernon. It must be so horrible to like someone that way and have them be so painfully oblivious." On the floor, Pikachu was looking at its trainer very annoyed.
As Amber sang, Serena couldn't help but smile and nod her head to the beat. "I kind of like this song," she said. "Kind of makes me wanna dance."
"Oh, really?" said Ash. "Maybe we could head back out there later and finally enjoy the party, huh?"
"Ah, I hope so," Serena smiled at Ash.
Pikachu and Braixen were sighing behind them. There was no doubt that their trainers liked each other, but they had to think, "Why? Why won't they just do it?"
"So, Brock, what do think I should say to her?" said Vernon.
"You just gotta talk to her about what she means to you," said Brock. "But you've gotta make sure it's a moment that's just between you and her."
Pikachu and Braixen listened to Brock's advice, when suddenly, they got a devilish idea. Pikachu suddenly began to speak up, getting Ash's attention.
"Huh? What is it, Pikachu?" said Ash.
"Pika, pika, pikachu!"
"Huh? Why would you want to go all the way to the concession stand for one of those? We got a whole buffet right here."
Braixen looked at Pikachu confused, before it subtly looked its way and gave a mischievous look. Braixen quickly understood and spoke up to its own trainer.
"Braixen, brai, brai!"
"What? You too, Braixen?" said Serena. Both Pokémon looked at their trainers with pleading eyes, so they finally gave in. "Alright, I guess we can go real quick. We'll be right back, okay, guys?"
"Sure," said Vernon, waving them all off. As they left, Vernon looked back at Amber performing on the screen as his heartbeat sped up. If only Amber knew just how much she meant to him. If only he hadn't let her get away before. Maybe... things would be different.
It's Ampharos!
"Well, they were all sold out Pikachu," said Ash, returning to his Pokémon in the midst of an antsy crowd along with Serena. "We really should get back to Vernon."
"Pika!" Pikachu blurted out. Both it and Braixen were determined to set Ash and Serena up for a big moment, but fortunately for them, Amber suddenly called out to the crowd.
"C'mon, guys! Now I wanna see you all dance! Show me what you got!"
Everyone gathered together, and many guys and girls held onto each other to begin dancing.
"Pika, pi!" said Pikachu.
"Braixen, brai!" said Braixen, as the two suddenly pushed Ash and Serena together.
"Hey, what're you guys doing?" said Ash.
"Well, what do we see here?" said Amber's voice from the stage. Ash and Serena looked up at see her pretending to pout at them. "Don't these lovebirds know how to show each other a good time?"
"What?" said Serena. "No, no, we're not-"
"C'mon, guys, give me a hand!" Amber said. Everyone suddenly gathered around them, looking on in anticipation. Ash and Serena looked around themselves embarassed, and even saw their Pokémon looking on encouragingly.
"Guess they won't let us go..." Ash said, almost quietly enough that Serena wouldn't hear him. The two then carefully held onto each other, and tried to dance.
Emphasis on the word, "tried".
Not one second after they started, Serena accidentally stepped on Ash's foot. "Ouch!" he said. Man, for some reason her boots felt really heavy.
"Oop! Sorry, Ash," Serena said. At that point, Ash accidentally stepped on Serena's foot, and as a result, she fell down onto the floor.
Everyone around them gasped, as Ash tried to apologize. "I'm so sorry, Serena!"
"Oh, uh, I think..." Serena said, struggling to stand back up, "I think maybe this was a bad idea." Suddenly, she began to walk away from the crowd, rather quickly in fact.
"Serena, wait up!" Ash called after her, following her.
"Ooh, my bad, folks, guess they're just not in the mood," Amber said, before she moved back towards her DJ table.
Pikachu and Braixen looked at each other concerned. No, this was supposed to be perfect! Ash and Serena were meant to be! Maybe, yes, maybe there was just something wrong with the situation! The song! That's what it was! It wasn't the right song!
"Okay, Vernon, she'll be back in just a moment," said Brock. "So, are you ready?"
"I am," said Vernon. "Let's try to get this right before I lose my confidence."
Suddenly, a stage manager came backstage and said, "Sorry, guys, I hope you don't mind, but Miss Amber's gonna be a while longer. Someone just requested a song."
"What?" said Vernon as the manager left. He then sat on the sofa feeling glum, as he said, "Great, I'm never gonna be able to have a moment with her to talk."
"Hey, don't give up, Vernon," said Brock, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Look, this sort of thing can be scary, but you'll feel better if you at least try. But still, don't put so much pressure on yourself. You'll just make it awkward."
"I-I just really don't wanna mess this up," said Vernon. "Amber means a lot to me."
"Well, do you mean a lot to her?" said Brock.
"Of course," said Vernon.
Brock gave him a reassuring smile. "Well, then, you don't have to worry. Even if she doesn't say yes, you'll still always have her as a friend. I can tell that no matter what, you two have a connection, and a close bond. As long as you have that, you'll always have each other."
Vernon put on a tiny smile. "Thanks, Brock. You know, you're actually good at this stuff, aren't you?"
"I should be," said Brock. "After all, I'm the one who finally explained the concept of love to Ash."
"What are you talking about?" said Vernon.
"Well," said Brock, "it was actually shortly after he returned from the Kalos region. One day, he just came up to me, and told me about this girl, who left him with something that gave him a feeling he couldn't explain. A feeling that was so alien to him. It took me a long time, but I helped Ash see that he, for the first time in his life, was starting to like someone."
As Vernon listened to this, he began to work something out in his head, specifically as he heard the word, "Kalos," and he then dawned with realization.
Pikachu and Braixen were desperately looking for their trainers, but to no avail. What was going on now? Where'd they go? Their plan was about to be put into motion. They had discreetly asked Amber to play a love ballad, and now they needed to trick their trainers into running up onto the stage.
"Well, heads up, party people, I guess there are some lovebirds in the house, 'cause I got a new request for a love song!" Amber announced to the audience. As the audience cheered though, Amber looked at her DJ table in apprehension. She never was one for love songs, she admitted to herself. In fact this was a new song she'd never played in public before. Something in her gut told her that this wasn't going to be a big hit right now. Nonetheless, she prepared to start playing it.
That was when Pikachu and Braixen ran up onto the stage, hoping their trainers were somehow up there. But that was when they were bathed in bright, neon lights, and they witnessed Amber's backup dancers dancing around them.
"I'm sorry, do we got lovebirds on stage?" Amber said, as the two Pokémon looked over to see her looking their way. "I'm afraid you gotta dance to this song. It's a rule."
Looking at each other awkwardly, Pikachu and Braixen reluctantly held each other's hands and tried dancing. Emphasis on the word 'tried'. Because Braixen's tail ended up brushing against Pikachu's cheek, causing it to give out a massive shock that lit up the entire stage.
"Whoo, now there's a light show!" said Amber. Unfortunately, looking behind her to see this caused her to miss a beat, and song suddenly hit a sour note.
"Oops," she said to herself, trying to get back on track. But as she inadvertently hit more wrong notes, her hands started to shake, and the song sounded worse.
As Brock and Vernon watched this from backstage, Brock said, "What happened? It's like she's freezing up."
"I think I know what it is," said Vernon. "She's nervous 'cause she's never played that song before." Thinking for a second, he got an idea. "I think I know what to do." Quickly, he stood up and walked out towards the stage.
"Uh, I apologize, folks," said Amber. "i guess I'm just a little nervous is all. If I could just..." But as she talked, she could still hear the negative chattering and jeering from the crowd.
"Come on get on with it!"
"Don't you come prepared?"
"Hey, everyone, settle down!" came another voice. Amber turned to see Vernon walking out onto the stage, the security guards calling after him. "She just hit a sour note is all. I think I know how to help her. C'mon let's start this song over, shall we?"
That was when Vernon walked up next to Amber at her DJ table, and whispered to her, "It's okay, I can help you figure this out."
"You can?" whispered Amber. "How?"
"Simple, you were going too fast before," said Vernon. "If it's a love ballad, it's should be played just a little bit slower. Let everyone get a feel for it."
"Er, I don't know, Vern," said Amber. "I've never been a fan of love songs."
"That's okay," said Vernon. "I never liked romantic comedies, but then one day I starred in one. The other lady, not a good kisser, I might add. Just trust me. We can figure it out together."
As Amber listened to what he said, a big, beaming smile appeared on her face as she put her hands back on the table.
Ash was looking around for Serena and their Pokémon, and by this point he was pretty far from the concert, which by now was little more than some loud screams in the distance. Eventually, he spotted Serena over at a food stand, ordering something.
"Hey, there you are, Serena!" he ran over to her.
"Oh, hey, Ash," said Serena. "I was wondering where you went."
"What are you doing all the way out here?" said Ash.
"Sorry, what happened back there, I guess I was just kinda embarrassed."
"Hey, it wasn't your fault," Ash reassured.
"No, I shouldn't have stepped on your foot like that," said Serena. "Y'know, you may not have realized, but I am a good dancer. Just... not with a partner is all."
"Oh, I see," said Ash. "But you're lucky. I'm an atrocious dancer. With or without a partner. Just watch!" Ash tried to dance right there, but instead, he tripped over his own feet and fell flat on his face.
Serena couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, you're right about that. I'm sorry for what happened, though. I think I preferred just enjoying the show rather than becoming part of it."
"Yeah, I mean, you don't get to see stuff like this everyday," said Ash. "I've been traveling a long time, but I've never even seen a techno concert."
"What? Seriously?" said Serena. "You can't tell me you've never listened to techno?"
"Well, I never really understood it, I guess," said Ash.
"Well, techno music is about mashing up different songs onto one track, playing sounds at the right time, and it utilizes a repetitive four on the floor beat. It's central rhythm is in common time-" Serena slowly stopped explaining when she saw the blank look on Ash's face, proving he understood none of this.
Serena chuckled to herself and said, "Well, it's a catchy beat, isn't it?"
"I agree!" said Ash. "Say, why don't we head back and just enjoy the concert?"
"Of course!" said Serena. As they walked away, Serena quickly spoke up again, "Oh, I forgot! I decided to get you something as long as I was at the stand."
Ash's mouth practically started watering when he saw Serena unwrap a caramel nut log. "ooh, that looks so delicious!"
"I hear it's made with the same kind of ingredients as the ones I use to make us macaroons," said Serena, "but here, let me add one more touch." Pulling a jar of something out of her bag, she used it to spread some red-looking frosting on the top.
"Cool! Thanks, Serena!" said Ash. He took it and took a huge bite out of it, and his eyes quickly lit up like a Christmas tree. "Delicious! It's sweet and spicy."
"That's the frosting I like to give Braixen on its PokéPuffs," said Serena. "It's spicy, but I made a special brand I thought you could handle."
"Thanks, Serena. You know me pretty well, don't you?" Ash said, making Serena blush.
Up on stage, Vernon was carefully helping Amber hit her notes, play her sounds at the right time, and keep the pace steady, until finally the song came to an end. Everyone watching remained silent before they all finally started to smile and applaud.
Amber covered her mouth with her hands to try to hide her beaming smile, but she turned to face Vernon, who was giving her a winning smile, and she couldn't help but pull him in for a quick hug.
"Thanks a lot, Vernon," she said, before she turned to face the crowd. "Give up everyone for my friend, the one and only Vernon, everyone!" At that, everyone's applause grew even louder.
"Alright, we'll be right back with one final song!" Amber said, as she then began to drag Vernon backstage.
"Aw, Vernon, that was amazing!" said Amber once they were off the stage. "I never knew you were such a techno whiz!"
"Heh, technically, I'm not," said Vernon, rubbing the back of his neck. "But I always watch your concerts. I've taken note of your style."
"Oh, you watch all my concerts?" said Amber.
"Of course," said Vernon. "It's the only time I ever get to see you anymore. I've... I've missed that."
"Oh, Vern," said Amber. "I've missed you too. But it means so much to me that you came out here tonight just for me!"
"Really?" said Vernon. "Aren't you... a little mad?"
"Why would I be mad?"
"Well, it's just... after I lost my fame, I ended up never speaking to you again, didn't I?" said Vernon. "I was too ashamed to face you. But I shouldn't have just walked out on you like that, Amber. I so sorry. I'm a lousy friend."
However, Amber quickly surprised Vernon by pulling him in for a hug, and reassuring him, "You kidding? You're a great friend! You just saved me from a whole lot of embarrassment! I can't thank you enough! And don't worry, Vernon, I understand. It was just a rough time for you is all. But I never forgot you, you know. You're my best friend. Always have been, and always will be! And I just want you to know that no matter what, even if the whole world forgot you, I never will."
Vernon actually felt a tear trickle out of his eye, and he held onto Amber a little tighter. "Thank you so much, Amber."
From around a corner, Brock was actually listening in, and he smiled to himself.
"Well, everyone," said Amber as she walked back onto the stage, "it's time to wrap this party up with a favorite little diddy of mine, but I need some help from my friend Vernon to make it perfect!"
Vernon followed her onto the stage and up to the DJ table, and they stood side-by-side to start playing the song together, their hands almost touching.
That was when Ash and Serena finally returned. "So that love song is already over?" said Ash.
"Mmm, too bad," said Serena. "But hey, it was probably super cheesy anyway."
Ash chuckled as they saw Vernon and Amber upon the stage together. "Whoa, look! Looks like Vernon pulled it off!"
"Oh, I never doubted it!" said Serena. "After all, those two are such good friends already."
"Yeha, kinda like us, huh?" Ash said.
Serena looked at him briefly surprised, but quickly smiled at him and said, "Yeah, just like us." As she paused for a moment, she said, "I'm definitely glad we know each other, Ash. I don't know how the rest of my life would have gone had I never met you, but it would've been pretty dull."
"Yeah, I could say the same to you," said Ash. "I never said it before, but I'm glad I met up with you again, Serena. I'm glad we're travelling together again. It was an incredible time we spent together at that summer camp, and at Kalos. I'd like to think that no matter what, we're always gonna have each other."
Serena smiled as she stepped closer. "No matter what, huh?"
Ash flashed her his trademark grin and said, "No matter what."
Serena beamed. "I hope so."
They would not say it out loud, not yet at least, but as their hearts beat a little faster, they thought to themselves, Someday. Someday.
Watching them from the stage (they were trying so hard to flee from it already), Pikachu and Braixen spotted their Trainers and the sweet moment they were sharing, and couldn't help but feel uplifted upon seeing it.
Thinking, Braixen looked at Pikachu and said, "Braixen, Brai, brai," meaning, "Maybe we were pushing too hard."
Pikachu nodded and said, "Pika pi!" meaning, "We should have faith in them. If they are meant to be, they can do it on their own."
Braixen nodded. "Brai, braixen." "Let's just let this happen naturally from now on."
At that, the two Pokémon jumped off the stage and ran up to their Trainers, who saw they and said, "There you guys are!" as they happily swept them up in their arms.
"Ha, look at us!" said Ash. "We all work pretty well together, don't we?"
"We sure do," said Serena.
It was the next morning, and Ash, Serena, Brock, Vernon, and RotomDex were helping Amber and her crew clean up the stage.
"You guys don't really have to do this," said Amber. "I know you got places to be."
"That's okay, it's no trouble," said Vernon, as they finished up. "Well, I think that should do it."
"Great!" said Amber. "So where are you guys going now?"
"We're gonna head out for Orbarrow City," explained Ash. "Serena and I have a medal and a badge to earn there."
"Oh, I see," said Amber, smiled mysteriously at the words, "Orbarrow City". "Well, I hope you guys do well." She then turned to Brock and asked where he'd be going.
"I need to do some work around the Ralia region," Brock explained. "I think all those Pokémon Team Shade keeps hurting need someone to take care of them."
"Oh, those Team Shade punks," said Amber. "Well, good luck. I'm afraid I gotta get going too." She looked back at Vernon. "But we'll keep in touch from now on, okay, Vernon?"
Vernon smiled, "You bet!"
"Just try not to wear out my battery when you guys video chat, okay?" said RotomDex.
"Well, see you guys!" said Amber as she walked away waving.
"Bye, Amber!" everyone waved.
Brock slinked closer to Vernon and whispered, "So, what would you say the situation is now?"
"It's doing just fine," Vernon whispered back. "Me and Amber reconciled, and we're close again. But don't worry. I'll win her over in time."
Brock shrugged. He didn't much care for waiting on something like that, but if Vernon believed it was a good idea, he'd trust him.
"So, I guess you're heading out now, Brock?" said Ash.
"Yeah, I'm afraid so," said Brock. "But don't worry. At this rate, I think we're bound to meet again."
"Awesome!" said Ash. "I'll be waiting!"
"So long, Brock," said Serena as they all waved goodbye to him and began walking away.
And so, this concert has proven that love and friendship can never fade over time. In fact sometimes it can even grow into something greater if you let it. Sometimes, you just have to wait and see...
The camera focused on Ash and Serena walking closely together...
...as the journey continues!
TO BE CONTINUED...
I can't help but notice that the word "Amourshipping" comes up a lot in my reviews, so I just wanted to explain a couple things to you guys. You should know that any TV show knows that getting a couple together too soon just hurts the story, so I try to avoid that. Also, Pokémon isn't exactly a romantic type of show, but I wanted to do this in a way that felt like the actual anime would do. I don't want this to take over the story, or turn uncharacteristic or cheesy, but that doesn't mean that I'm not trying. I ask you all to simply be patient. Don't worry, good thing come to those who wait. So please, just trust me. I do care about it. That was the point of "Campy Memories," btw. I thought I did well on that chapter. I wanted to write that chapter for a fairly obvious reason, but I guess no one got it. I just wanna be subtle, but then again, maybe I'm just no good at writing romance.
Unfortunately, it'll be a while before I write another chapter, because the thing is I have another story that I am working very hard on: "The Marvelous Spider-Man: Season 1." If, uh, if any of you are Spider-Man fans, please check it out. You'll have to click on my name to find it, though. It won't appear in the search engine. But please, I am working very hard on it, but no one has even read it. If any of you have any suggestions for helping me promote it, I'm all ears. But I need to find a way to get people to read, okay? So, please, just be patient with me, okay?
