Chapter 16: Delta's Revenge
Delta continues her attack by punching at Faiz while he avoids and parries her attacks. When he dodges one of her punches, Faiz grabs onto Delta's arm and tries to reason with her.
"Stop this! I don't have any reason to fight you."
"Right. Like I'm going to fall for that!" Delta said before she pulled her arm free and landed a kick on him forcing Faiz to stumble back.
Delta then pulls out her Phone/Blaster and speaks to it to activate it.
"Fire."
[BURST MODE]
Delta soon aimed her blaster at Faiz, that's when Kaixa grabbed onto Delta's wrist to stop her as she turned to him.
"Okay, that's enough." Kaixa tells her but Delta grabs onto his wrist. "What are you…?"
Delta spun around and slams her elbow on his chest followed with a kick on the back of his leg and throws him to the wall before he falls to the ground.
Everyone blinks to see that as Kaixa groans.
"Now that feels humiliating…" Kaixa mutters to himself.
Delta then turns back to Faiz and fires at him, just as Faiz braced himself for the incoming attack, Orga moved in and deflected her energy shots. After that, Orga then turns to Faiz.
"You okay?" He asked and Faiz nodded.
"Yeah. Thanks for the save."
"No problem. But…" Orga said before he and Faiz turned back to Delta. "You should probably save your thanks after we get out of this."
Delta then charges at them to attack them.
(Play Justiφ's by ISSA)
(Instrumental) (The song started showing a pixelated Faiz, and changes to the Auto Vajin, and showed two rows of images of Faiz wielding his Faiz Edge and Phone in Gun mode, and changes to Faiz riding on his bike.)
(Hirogaru uchuu no naka Can You Feel) (Kazuto was in a net cage, and grabbed a fallen half cut apple, before breaking out of the cage and leaving.)
(Chiisa na hoshi no hanashi wo shiyou) (Kazuto was seen with Haruhiko, Mai, Reina, Koito, Ruru, and Kurumi, on a beach, looking at the sun set, in which he smiles being with friends.)
(Tell Me The Truth shinjiteta mirai ga) (Then change to Kiba and Leo standing side by side. Then changes to Kiba showing both his Horse Orphnoch form and changing to Orga, and then changes of him bowing to Dark Decade.)
(Kuzure sarou to shiteru) (Then changes to Leo smirks, as his Lion Orphnoch Form appears and then changes to Psyga.)
(Kanashimi wo kuri kaeshi) (Kazuto was seen walking with his friends to school, and then flashes of his past appeared beside him.)
(Bokura wa doko e yuku no darou) (Then it changes to Kazuto facing several Riotroopers, and he soon transformed into Faiz, and charges at the Riotroopers.)
(Ima hitori no mune no naka) (Faiz was seen fighting against an Orphnoch, and changes of him riding the Auto Vajin.)
(Me wo samase The Time To Go) (Then changes showing pixels of Kaixa and Delta, then changes of them wielding and using their main weapons.)
(Tsuyoku aru tame ni) (Faiz was seen drifting on his bike, making a sharp turn.)
(Mata mamoru koto to tatakau koto) (Then it changed to Smart Lady, blowing her hands and blue butterflies appeared flying, and showed one with a broken wing.)
(JIRENMA wa owaranai hashiri tsuzukete mo) (A young Kazuto looks at the burning lab where his parents had died, and soon the current Kazuto visited the now ruined building, then changes to Faiz standing with the Auto Vajin in the on top of a building in the night, with his eyes and Photon Streams glowing brightly.)
({The} end Justi-φ's the means!) (Then the song ends, with the title logo.)
Delta throws a punch at Orga and he uses his sword to block it before he pushes her first back but Delta fires at him landing some good hits on Orga as he was forced to stumble back.
"Kiba!" Koito said in worry.
Just when Orga stops stumbling, Delta lands a strong punch on his face which sends him rolling on the ground. As he slowly stood up on his knee and foot, Delta aimed her Blaster at him, ready to fire but Faiz stopped her attempt by shooting it out of her hand with his Phone.
"Are you ready to listen now?" Faiz asked.
Delta soon gives her answer as she charges at Faiz to attack him. Delta throws a punch at his face, Faiz dodges it and blocks a kick from Delta. After Faiz pushes her leg back, Delta throws another punch at him and Faiz catches it and puts Delta in an arm lock with her arm in front of her neck.
"Okay! How about I start things off?! Like why are you doing this?" Faiz questions her.
"I have nothing to say to you!" Delta said before she fell on her back to throw Faiz to the ground to free herself.
Faiz rolled on the ground before he stopped and quickly stood up on his knee and foot.
Delta quickly stood up and rushed to her Phone to pick it up to attach her Mission Memory into it.
[READY]
"Check!" Delta spoke into her Phone.
[EXCEED CHARGE]
Delta then fired and created an energy cone in front of Faiz before he stood up on both of his feet.
"Guess you left me with no choice." Faiz said before he placed his Phone back into his belt.
Faiz soon pulled out and put on his Shot and inserted the Mission Memory into it.
[READY]
He then pressed the 'Enter' button on his Phone.
[EXCEED CHARGE]
Energy travels to his Shot, Faiz soon assumes his stance and is ready for Delta.
Delta roars as she charge forward and jumps into the energy cone to attack Faiz with a kick, Faiz counters by throwing a punch with his Shot and when the two attacks collided an explosion appeared between both Riders.
When the explosion died down, both Faiz and Delta rolled on the ground before they stood back up.
Just as Faiz stood up on his knee and foot, Delta was already on her feet and aimed her Blaster at him.
"Don't bother trying to beg for your life, because I don't believe in mercy." Delta coldly told him.
"But why? Aren't you an Orphnoch yourself?" Faiz questions her.
"What? What are you talking about? I'm nothing like you! I'm human!" Delta said, which surprised Faiz and the others.
"What?" Faiz said.
"She's still human? But how?" Kaixa said.
But Faiz didn't have time to ask her another question as Delta was ready to pull the trigger, but then someone stepped forward and stood in her way to protect Faiz, and it was Mai.
"Senpai!/Onee-sama!/Mai!" Most of her friends said.
"Mai, no, you need to get out of the way!" Faiz told her.
"You should really take his advice. Unless you're like him too." Delta said but Mai shook her head.
"No, I'm a human just like you." Mai told her and Delta was a bit surprised by that.
"What? Then why are you defending him? He's a monster in human skin." Delta said.
"Maybe so. But I don't care if Kazuto is human or not, because he's important to me and he always will be!" Mai said.
"Mai…" Faiz mutters.
Delta then took a moment to see the look in Mai's eyes. She could tell they were full of determination and won't back down. With that, Delta then lowered and holsters her gun.
Everyone, Mai included, sighs in relief before Delta tells them this warning.
"Don't this will change anything. When the time is right, I'll finish the job."
Delta turns around and walks before she speaks to her Phone.
"3-8-2-1."
[JETSLIGER COME CLOSER]
Not long after that the Riders and their friends heard the powerful roar of a vehicle's engine and then quickly appearing and stopping in front of Delta was her powerful warmachine, the Jetsliger.
The Riders and their friends were deeply amazed to see that machine.
"Dang…" Kaixa said as he stood back up.
Delta now approaches her vehicle to get on it and leave before Faiz stood up on his feet and called out to her.
"Wait!" Delta stops and turns to him. "Is it really true that you're human?"
"Yeah. What about it?" Delta questions him.
"But…how is that possible?" Faiz said as he looked at the belt she was wearing.
Before he could ask anymore questions, Delta soon mounted the Jetsliger and used it to leave but not without a loud boom which made everyone cover their ears for a moment.
As Faiz watches her leave, Kaixa walks to his side as he rolled his shoulder and took a moment to tend to his sore neck.
"What was up with her?" Kaixa questions.
"Your guess is as good as mine." Faiz said.
In his office, Smart Brain CEO and president Murakami, had received a report from Lucky Clover member Takuma, the Centipede Orphnoch.
"I see. So Delta had joined up with the Riders." Murakami said.
"Yes. I know I should've retrieved her Gear along with the others, but I'm afraid the situation has gone far out of hand." Takuma said.
"It's fine. Just knowing that all three Gears are together is more than enough for me. But don't think you'll get another chance, understand?" Murakami said.
"Yes…Of course, mister president." Takuma said before he ended the call.
Murakami then puts his phone down and brings out footage of Delta fighting against Faiz, Kaixa and Orga.
"But still, I thought she would work with Faiz and the others instead of fighting against them. Whatever her reasons for fighting are, it's clear she harbors a vendetta against Orphnochs. I may need to look into this." Murakami said before he used his phone to make another call.
After the battle with Delta, Kazuto and Haruhiko return to the latter's home and Kazuto soon contacts Hikaru and tells him what happened.
"I see. So there was no end of surprises at your end." Hikaru said.
"I guess that's one way of putting it. I'm sorry for not mentioning this sooner, I couldn't be conclusive about it until I learn more." Kazuto told him.
"It's fine. But it's certainly a strange coincidence it ended up in the end of this Hoshimiya girl. I know that Souta had a daughter, but I never thought she would end up using the Delta Gear, let alone being a classmate of yours." Hikaru said.
"Well actually, she just transferred to my class today. But by the looks of it, she definitely holds a grudge against Orphnoch. Including ones who have gone rogue." Kazuto said.
"I guess that would happen after the loss of a loved one. But you're sure she's still human?" Hikaru asked.
"I can't be sure of that just yet. But if that's true, then she definitely didn't show any signs when a human uses the Kaixa Gear. How do you think that's possible?" Kazuto said before he heard Hikaru humming in thought.
"It must be because Delta was still in the experimental stage before the fire. Unlike your Faiz Gear and the Kaixa Gear, the Delta Gear was the first model to be developed by Smart Brain and widely regarded to be the prototype model. We never had the chance to improve it because your parents and I learned of Smart Brain's intent back then." Hikaru said.
"I see. So Delta's power output is weaker compared to the other Gears, meaning even humans can use it without any setbacks." Kazuto siad.
"Yes, but I highly doubt that it doesn't have any drawbacks. Also you shouldn't assume that the Delta Gear is weak, each of the Gears are still strong in their own right." Hikaru reminded him.
"Right…" Kazuto said as he remembers Delta battling in even ground against himself along with Minato and Kiba.
"Anyway, be sure to keep her for me. If she really is Souta's daughter, then I wouldn't forgive myself if something happens to her." Hikaru said.
"Of course. Just leave her to me." Kazuto said before he ended the call. "But I'm mostly worried about what she'll do when school starts tomorrow."
(Meanwhile)
Kiba is seen with Leo in their usual meeting spot and tells him about his encounter with Delta. After hearing that Delta had managed to hold her own against Kiba along with Kazuto and Minato, Leo couldn't help but chuckle.
"So you got your ass kicked by a girl who was using the weakest Gear. God that's rich." Leo commented.
"Hey, I'll have you know I was holding back for a bit." Kiba said but Leo remained unconvinced as he rolled his eyes.
"Sure you were." He said. "Anyway, at least now all three Gears and their users are close to each other."
"That's true. But given what she did, I doubt she's willing to trust me unlike with Koito and the others." Kiba said but heard Leo chuckling. "What?"
"Nothing. I just find it interesting that you mention the gloomy girl first." Leo said and Kiba narrowed his eyes at him.
"Is that a problem somehow?" Kiba questions him.
"Well…that depends on how the boss feels about it." Leo stated.
"I doubt that even matters to him right now. Our first priority is to secure all three Gears as soon as possible." Kiba said and Leo nodded in agreement.
"I guess there's no denying that. Especially since Decade has been making strides so far. Last I heard, he really put a wrinkle in the boss's plan in Fourze's world." Leo told him.
"Then it's only a matter of time until he makes his way here. Alright, I'll try to see if I work some things out with Delta." Kiba said.
"You do that. I'll be sure to give the boss your report." Leo said.
"Thank you." Kiba said before he left, and Leo took his leave as well.
'But still…I really can't wait until I get the all-clear from the boss.' Leo secretly thought to himself.
(Next day)
It was now morning. The Riders and their friends had decided to meet up and head to school together with Koito which was a bit surprising for most of them.
As they were walking, Haruhiko yawned once again which wasn't too surprising for the others.
"Stayed up late again I see." Kazuto said.
"I couldn't help it. After what happened last night, I had trouble sleeping." Haruhiko said.
"That's because you're too much of a wimp. Honestly, why can't you be like Kazuto-kun?" Mai said and Kazuto blinked to hear that.
"Be like me?" Kazuto said and Mai blushed before she shook her head and waved her hands.
"It's nothing! Forget I even said that!" Mai told him.
"Okay…?" Kazuto said and the others chuckled to watch those two.
When they were close to the school's gate, Koito stopped for a moment as she spotted someone and the others stopped and turned to her before Kiba spoke to her.
"Koito? What's wrong?" Kiba asked.
"Look." Koito said.
The others looked and saw that Aika had also arrived as she was standing in front of the gate while looking at them but her eyes were mostly set on Kazuto.
Even knowing what this was about, Kazuto spoke to her.
"Is there anything I can help you with, Hoshimiya?" He asked.
"There is one thing." Aika said before she showed her Phone which was hidden inside of her bag.
Kazuto, Minato and Kiba were a bit worried to see that before their friends moved in front of Aika to defend them.
Aika was a bit surprised by that before she decided to stand down and put the Delta Phone away. Kazuto spoke to her.
"You should be more mindful when you use that. Especially when there's people around." Kazuto said before he looks at the other students in the area and Aika only clicks her tongue.
"I don't need to hear that from someone like you." Aika said before she walked to the school.
"I wonder what her problem is?" Koito said and Kiba shrugged.
"I'm not sure. But maybe you should ask her because she's as shy as you are." Kiba said with a smirk and Koito narrowed her eyes at him, and Kiba quickly waved his hands. "Sorry! I was only joking."
"Hmph!" Koito turns away from him before she walks to the school as well and the others soon follow.
"Man…You really have a poor sense of humor." Kazuto told Kiba.
"I could say the same about you." Kiba said before he and Kazuto chuckled.
But Kiba begins to wonder why he made a joke like that, especially since he was only pretending to be their friend but deep down he starts to wonder if his mission doesn't matter anymore.
"Kiba, is something wrong?" Kazuto asked and Kiba shook his head.
"It's nothing. I'm fine." Kiba said before he secretly repeated this in his mind.
'Focus, Kiba! Don't forget you have a mission to fulfill. That's right, only focus on the mission. The task that your master has given you. Nothing else matters other than that.'
After splitting up from their friends, Kazuto and Minato soon arrived at their classroom but saw that Aika had arrived first as she stared at them both.
Despite the way she was staring at them, Kazuto and Minato head to their desks before they sit down.
That's when Kazuto notices that Aika was staring at him, no doubt with murderous intent. Kazuto quietly sighed as he might need to be careful towards her even in school.
'Well…this is certainly going to be an interesting year…' Kazuto thought to himself.
(Meanwhile)
In the outskirts of the city, a delivery truck is seen driving on the highway as it heads to Shibuya to deliver some fruits to some stores. But in the back and hiding among the driver's packages, a couple, man and woman hitched a ride in the truck.
Both appear to be in their 20s and have a backpack for each of them.
The man had spiky brown hair and black eyes. He was wearing a black shirt with a gray hoodie with the hood around his head to hide his face a bit, and was wearing blue jeans and brown shoes.
The woman beside him had long black hair that reached to her waist. She was wearing a white long sleeve shirt with a yellow vest and wearing a hat to also hide her face a bit, she was wearing a long white skirt with black shoes.
These two were on the run for a while as a group of people were hunting them, except they weren't just normal people.
The man noticed that the woman with him was starting to doze off for a bit.
"Kimi, if you want to sleep then sleep." He told her, but Suzuko shook her head and rubbed her fingers on her eyes to keep herself awake.
"I'm fine…Nishio. This is nothing." Kimi assured him. Nishio remained unconvinced before he placed his arm on his shoulders and held her close.
"It's alright. We're only a few hours away. I'll keep an eye out, so just rest until then, okay?" Nishio said and Kimi smiled before she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Okay. You win…" Kimi said before she fell asleep.
After she had fallen asleep, Nishio looked at her as she felt a bit guilty for making her push herself like this before he gently rubbed on her shoulder.
"Just hang on a bit longer. We're almost there." Nishio said before gray markings appeared on his face showing he was an Orphnoch.
After school had ended, Kazuto and his friends were walking in the city with Reina holding a free coupon for all you can eat sushi. It was given to them by Arisu after she told them that they can have a day-off after everything that happened.
Reina had a smile on her face as she was deeply excited to have all of the sushi she could eat.
"Fatty tuna…clean cut unagi…along with crispy tempura…" Reina said and Minato chuckled to see that.
"So you're that excited to eat some sushi." He commented and Reina slightly blushed.
"Do you really have to say it like that?" Reina said.
"I couldn't help it. Besides, I'm excited for this as well." Minato said before he and Reina smiled at each other.
Ruru chuckles with her hands behind her head.
"Just look at those two. Acting all lovey-dovey like that." Ruru said.
"Well they are childhood friends." Kiba said.
"I don't see how that's relevant." Haruhiko said.
"Just roll with it." Kazuto told him before he turned to Koito. "Though I'm surprised you wanted to come with us."
"I…I just like it." Koito said before she eyed Kiba and Kazuto noticed that.
"Hmmm…I see." Kazuto said in understanding.
Kazuto stops for a moment as he could tell that someone was following them at a distance thanks to his enhanced senses. Mai stopped and spoke to him.
"Kazuto, what's wrong?" Mai asked before he smiled at her.
"It's nothing. You guys go on without me. There's something I need to do." Kazuto told her and the others.
"Okay…Just don't take long." Mai said before she and the others head on without him.
When they were far enough, Kazuto let out a sigh before he turned around and spoke to the person who was following them.
"Honestly…Are you going to follow me wherever I go?"
Appearing out of her hiding spot was Aika before she and Kazuto stare at each other.
After the delivery truck had arrived in the city, both Nishio and Kimi had gotten off and walked on the city sidewalk while keeping their faces hidden from any cameras and prying eyes.
They stopped at a crosswalk as they were waiting for the light to turn green. With his enhanced hearing, Nishio saw someone talking behind him, he looked and saw it was a salaryman speaking to his boss with his phone.
He then turns back to the crosswalk before the light finally turns green. Nishio and Kimi then hold hands as they walk to the otherside, but Nishio stops as he spotted a man wearing a black suit and sunglasses standing in front of them as he was waiting for the couple to arrive.
"Nishio, what's wrong?" Kimi asked.
"Shit! We have to turn back!" Nishio said before he and Kimi quickly turned around and left in the hope of getting away from the man.
But after walking for a short moment, Nishio spotted another man in a black suit right in front of him and Kimi. Nishio grew concerned to see another one, he quickly looked and spotted a nearby alleyway and he quickly used that chance to run into it with Kimi, then the two men in black suits quickly chased after them.
Nishio and Kimi were running in the alleyway for a while before two more men in black suits jumped down from different buildings as they landed in front of them.
Nishio and Kimi stop as the two men approach them, Nishio then notices that the other two who were chasing them and catch up to them as they approach the couple from behind.
Nishio brought Kimi behind him to protect her, he quickly took a moment to study surroundings to look for a way out and saw a backdoor to an abandoned restaurant which was covered by a wooden board.
Nishio then charges at the woodend board and smashes it with shoulder as he and Kimi run into the abandoned restaurant.
"After them!" One of the men in black suits said before they quickly entered the abandoned building to hunt them down.
The men in black search for Nishio and Kimi inside the restaurant, one opens the pantry door, one tears down a window curtain, one kicks down the door to the restroom while one searches in the kitchen.
Nishio and Kimi were hiding behind a table as they could hear the men searching for them and could tell they were getting closer before one spoke out to the others.
"Find them! They couldn't have gotten far!"
Knowing that they can't hide forever and outrun them together, Nishio held Kimi's shoulders and spoke to her.
"Kimi, you go on ahead. I'll lead these suits away from here."
"No! I'm not leaving you!" Kimi protested as she shook her head.
"You're not! Just go to the shipyard and wait for me. I'll be there, I promise." Nishio swore to her.
"But…Nishio…" Kimi said before Nishio kissed her.
Nishio quickly stood up and called out to the men wearing black suits.
"Hey, idiots! You're looking for me, right?!"
Nishio quickly jumps through the window to escape the building and runs on the street, the men in black suits followed him while leaving Kimi as she could only watch in worry.
"Nishio…" Kimi mutters.
As Nishio was running away from the men who were chasing, he soon arrived at the town square before someone fired in the ground in front of him forcing him to stop.
Nishio looked and saw that the shooters were another group of men in black suits armed with Axelaygun in Gun Mode, showing they were Smart Brain agents.
Nishio cursed his luck before he saw that the agents who were chasing him had caught up as they all surrounded him.
"You did well so far? But you should know better than anyone, no one betrays Smart Brain nor lives to tell about it." One of the agents said.
"Yeah, I guess so. But that doesn't mean I won't try either!" Nishio said before he roared and transformed into his Orphnoch form.
Nishio's Orphnoch form has the features of an armadillo with armor based around the said animal's armored shell with cloth strings on his shoulders and in front of his waist.
This is the Armadillo Orphnoch.
One of the agents sighed and shook his head.
"Stubborn types always take the hard way out. Men!" He said before he and the other agents showed their Smart Buckles.
"Henshin." They said before they pushed down the buckle to transform.
[COMPLETE]
The agents then transformed into Riotroopers armed with their weapons.
The Armadillo Orphnoch soon brings out a sword and shield, the shield is also based around an armadillo's shell with strings below it.
The Armadillo Orphnoch then charges at the Riotroopers to battle them.
(Back with Kazuto and Aika)
Kazuto and Aika decided to hold their conversation at a cafe as both Riders were seated on a table that was outside.
"It's one thing to follow me, but does it have to be with my friends?" Kazuto asked.
"Well that depends, was your girlfriend lying that she was human?" Aika questions him back and Kazuto nearly blushes before he coughs in his hand to regain his composure.
"Okay, one, she's not my girlfriend. And two, Mai's wouldn't lie like that." Kazuto told her.
"Hmph. So you say." Aika said and Kazuto sighed as he leaned back on his chair.
"Honestly, you're going act like this towards me forever, aren't you?" Kazuto asked.
"Not just you. Everyone who's just like you too." Aika replied.
"You mean the Orphnoch, right?" Kazuto asked.
"So that's what you call yourself?" Aika asked back.
"Pretty much." Kazuto shrugged. "You didn't know about that?"
"No, and I hardly care what you monsters call yourself." Aika said.
"Oh really?" Kazuto said. "Then did you know that most Orphnochs were once human?"
Aika blinks to hear that.
"What?" She said and that gave Kazuto the answer to his question.
"I'll take that as a yes. So you didn't know about this until now?" Kazuto asked.
"No. But do you honestly expect to believe that?" Aika asked back.
"Well…I guess not. But I thought your father was investigating this for some time." Kazuto said. Aika narrowed her eyes at him.
"How do you know that?" Aika questions him.
"Let's just say I have a friend who's good at gathering info." Kazuto said before he asked her another question. "But tell me this, do you know how Orphnoch can be created?"
"Why should I care about that?" Aika asked.
"Because, the only way a human can turn into an Orphnoch is by dying." Kazuto answered and Aika was once again surprised to hear that.
"What?"
"Like I told you, Orphnoch were once humans who had experienced death itself. I should know, because I'm a naturally born one. Not only that, when an Orphnoch kills a human, they would also come back as an Orphnoch." Kazuto said.
Aika slammed her hands on the table.
"That can't be!" Aika exclaimed. "If that's true…Then why did my dad…"
"I guess how he died then." Kazuto concluded and Aika clicked her tongue before she sat back down. "I'm sorry about your father. I know how it feels to someone you love. But you shouldn't prosecute all Orphnochs like that."
"Why? Because they're all as nice as you are? Because I highly doubt that." Aika said.
"That may be true. But not all Orphnochs are like that, in fact, there's some who don't want to hurt humans and only want to live in peace." Kazuto said.
"Oh really? And you expect me to take your word for it?" Aika questions him before she and Kazuto stare at each other.
That's when they heard people screaming and saw they were running away and heard what they were screaming about.
"Monster!"
Kazuto couldn't help but smack his hand on his face after hearing that.
'Talk about terrible timing.' Kazuto thought to himself.
"So much for living in peace." Aika said before she stood up and headed to where they were running away from.
"God dang it." Kazuto mutters before he stands up and follows her.
A few blocks away from the cafe, the Armadillo Orphnoch is seen limping in another area of the city with his hand on his shoulder.
"I have to…go…Wait for me, Kimi…" He mutters before one calls out to him.
"Hey!"
Thinking that it was another Riotrooper, the Armadillo Orphnoch turns and sees it was Aika wearing the Delta Gear as she approaches him.
"A human?"
Aika then spoke to her Phone to activate it.
"Henshin."
[STANDING BY]
Aika inserted her Phone into her belt to transform.
[COMPLETE]
With her transformation now complete, Delta charges at the Armadillo Orphnoch and throws a punch at him. The Armadillo Orphnoch dodges it but Delta soon lands another punch on his chest and he soon stumbles back.
"Just what are you…?" The Armadillo Orphnoch said but didn't have the chance to finish his sentence as Delta pulled out her Blaster/Phone and spoke to it.
"Fire."
[BURST MODE]
Now charged with energy, Delta soon fired energy blasts at the Armadillo Orphnoch landing some good hits as he stumbled back some more before he fell on his knee.
But Delta wasn't done with him yet before she kicks him to the ground as he falls on his back.
Kazuto soon arrived and what was going on as Delta stomps her foot on his chest to hold him down.
As the Armadillo Orphnoch struggles to free himself, Delta aimed her blaster in front of his face.
"Please…don't…" He pleaded.
Kazuto heard that but Delta didn't falter as she was ready to pull the trigger.
"Oh, no!" Kazuto said as he was about to move in and stop her but someone already beat him to it.
"No!" Said Kimi as she rushed in and grabbed onto Delta's arm much to everyone's surprise including the Armadillo Orphnoch.
"Kimi?!"
"Please, don't do this!" Kimi pleaded.
Delta then throws her to the ground and aimed her blaster at her.
"So you're another one of them!" Delta said but the Armadillo Orphnoch grabbed onto her leg and spoke to her.
"No, she's not! Kimi…She's human!" Both Kazuto and Delta were surprised by that.
"What?" Kazuto said.
"Y-You're lying! It can't be true!" Delta exclaimed.
"It is! Just please…Just give me a chance." The Armadillo Orphnoch pleaded.
"Please…Just listen to us." Kimi pleaded as well.
As Delta hesitates and wonders what to do, Kazuto moves in and grabs onto her wrist which makes her turn to him.
"Let's listen to their side of the story. Then we can figure out the rest." Kazuto told her.
While reluctant, Delta complied as she lowered her gun and removed her foot to take a few steps away from the Armadillo Orphnoch before he changed back to his human form.
Kazuto then helps Nishio stand back up, but unknown to them is that Leo was watching on top of a building. After watching what has happened and listening to their conversation, Leo smiles as he just had an idea.
After agreeing to hear Nishio and Kimi's side of the story, Kazuto soon contacted their friends as he along with the couple and Aika were waiting for them at the park.
"Kazuto!"
They looked and saw Minato, Kiba and the others moving towards them.
"Glad that you made it." Kazuto said before his friends stopped close to them.
"Well, you did make it sound important." Minato said before he and the others turned to Nishio and Kimi. "So this is them?"
"Yeah. This is Nishio and Kimi. Apparently, they're being hunted by Smart Brain." Kazuto told them.
"But why would they?" Kiba asked.
"Well if I had to guess." Kazuto said as he and the others looked at how the couple were holding hands.
"Oh…" Reina blushed with a hand over her mouth while Ruru whistled.
"I see. That makes some sense now." Minato said.
"Yeah, apparently Nishio-san was a Smart Brain agent. But now he turned traitor because he fell in love." Kazuto told them.
"That's horrible." Mai said.
"But I'm surprised Hoshimiya-san bought that." Haruhiko said before they looked at Aika who was tracing her thumb on her Phone.
"Well…I'm pretty sure she still has her doubts about that." Kiba said before he asked Kazuto a question. "But what about you though?"
Kazuto thought about it before he turned to Nishio and Kimi.
"Honestly, I'm not sure myself. But…I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt." Kazuto answered and Kiba smirked before he nodded.
"Then I guess I'll do the same." Kiba said.
"Me too. So, what's the plan?" Minato asked.
"Well…How do you feel about going to the shipyard?" Kazuto asked which made them blinked.
After agreeing to help Nishio and Kimi, the Riders and their friends had arrived at the shipyard filled with cargo containers along with some ships.
The reason Nishio came to the city with Kimi was to sneak aboard on a ship that was going to travel overseas.
They manage to sneak through the gate while walking between the large containers between them.
"I don't know about this…Isn't this the sort of thing criminals do?" Haruhiko asked.
"Only if you get caught." Kazuto said before they stop and look out for guards. "But still, we're bound to draw attention with a large group like this."
"Agreed." Kiba nodded. "Best that we split up. Inui and I will go with Nishio."
"Alright, I guess that leaves me with Kimi-san…" Minato said before Aika spoke out.
"And me." Aika said, which surprised them.
"Okay…" Kazuto said before he coughed in his hand. "Anyway, Mai, you and the others stay here and secure an escape route, just in case."
"Got it." Mai and the others nodded.
"Let's move." Kazuto said.
The Riders put on their Gears before they move out with Nishio and Kimi split up and headed in different directions.
Minato, Aika and Kimi stealthily walked between the cargo containers before Minato heard some footsteps approaching thanks to his enhanced hearing. He then raised his hand in front of the women before he did a shush gesture.
"Someone's coming." He told them.
They then hid behind a container and saw two guards had met up to walk.
"Looks like those two will take a while. You two stay back for a bit, I'll let you know when they're gone." Minato said.
"Fine." Aika said before she and Kimi stepped back.
Aika leaned on the wall while Kimi sat down and took a moment to rest.
"You, okay?" Aika asked in concern and Kimi nodded.
"I'm fine. Just a little tired from all the running." Kimi said.
"Sounds like you've been through a lot." Aika said.
"Yeah…I did. But hopefully it will be over soon."
Aika was silent for a moment before she spoke to Kimi.
"So…Are you really serious about this? Leaving Japan and going to another country?" She asked and Kimi nodded.
"I am. I mean it's better than being hunted here." Kimi said.
"But don't you have any friends and family?" Aika asked once again but Kimi sighed.
"I do have some friends…But as for my family, I doubt they'll even miss me." Kimi said.
"Why?"
Kimi sighed before she pulled up her sleeve to show a scar on her arm which surprised Aika.
"I didn't exactly grow up in a loving home. My dad was nothing but a deadbeat who rarely comes home, and my mom would waste her time drinking. When she's drunk, she would beat me." Kimi said.
"I-I'm sorry to hear that." Aika said.
"It's fine. I spend most of my life not knowing what love even is. Until I met Nishio, he opened my heart for the first time in my life. He even showed me that despite how ugly our world is, it can still be beautiful." Kimi said. "That's why, I don't want to be separated from him. I want to spend the rest of my life with him."
Aika was left a bit speechless to hear that before she lowered her head in wonder. Minato then spoke to them to gain their attention.
"Hey. The guards left."
Aika and Kimi looked and saw that the guards had indeed left.
They then move out of their hiding spot and were about to head to the spot to meet with Kazuto and Kiba, but then gunfire appeared in front of them forcing them to stop.
Minato and Aika looked up and saw that their shooters were a group of Riotroopers standing on top of different containers.
"Great. Now they show up." Minato said in annoyance.
"We'll just have to take care of them." Aika said and Minato blinked to hear that.
"We?" He said before the Riotroopers jumped down and moved towards them.
Both Minato and Aika bring out their Phones and activate them.
[STANDING BY]
"Henshin!" Minato said.
"Henshin!" Aika said.
Both Riders inserted their Phones into their Gears to transform.
[COMPLETE]
With their transformation complete, both Kaixa and Delta charge at the Riotroopers and battle them.
Kaixa punches one in the face before dodging another Riotrooper's attack with his weapon, he then grabs onto the Riotrooper's arm to throw him to the ground.
Kaixa then charges at a Riotrooper that was charging at him to attack but Kaixa kicks him to the ground.
Delta avoids three Riotroopers blaster fire by rolling on the ground before she stops and fires back at them with her own Blaster, destroying them as they turn to ash.
Just as Delta stood up, she soon saw one Riotrooper swinging his sword at her, she avoided it and grabbed onto the Riotrooper's head to smash it into a nearby container.
As Kazuto, Kiba and Nishio were heading towards the cargo ship, they heard the sounds of battle closeby.
"Damn it. I guess Minato runned into trouble." Kazuto said.
"Then we better move…" Kiba said before he spotted a familiar flying Rider heading towards and was ready to fire at them. "Get down!"
Kazuto and Nishio soon saw the flying Rider before he fired at them. They manage to avoid his gunfire before the said Rider landed on top of a tall tower of containers revealing himself as Psyga wearing his Flying Attacker.
'Really, Leo?' Kiba thought.
"Hey! Did I keep you waiting?!" Psyga said.
"Actually, we weren't expecting you! But we don't have time to mess with you!" Kazuto replied.
"Well…I have time!" Psyga said before he fires at them once again, they quickly avoid his gunfire.
"Guess we can't avoid a fight with him now." Kiba said.
"What was your first clue?" Kazuto asked before he spoke to Nishio. "You should go and hide; we'll take care of him."
"No! I can…" Nishio winced before he placed a hand on his shoulder.
"You shouldn't overexert yourself. You're still wounded." Kazuto told him and Nishio knows he can't win this argument.
"Okay. Thank you, and I'm sorry…" Nishio said before he ran to hide.
After that, Kazuto and Kiba turn to Psyga before they bring out their Phones and activate them.
[STANDING BY]
"Henshin!" Kazuto and Kiba said at the same time before they inserted their Phones into their Gears.
[COMPLETE]
Both Riders transform and are ready to fight before Psyga falls down and lands in front of them.
"Let the games begin." Psyga said.
Both Faiz and Orga charge at Psyga to attack him. Faiz throws a punch at him, but Psyga avoids it and soon avoids a few punches and kicks from Orga before he catches his next punch and backhanded punches Orga on the face forcing him to stumble back.
Psyga then avoids and blocks a few more punches and kicks from Faiz before he lands a few punches on his chest followed with a kick and Faiz stumbles back.
Faiz and Orga stood side-by-side as Psyga chuckled at them.
"Damn it. Things always get difficult when he's around." Faiz said.
'You don't know half of it.' Orga thought in agreement.
As they run with Kimi, Kaixa armed with his Blaygun and Delta battle their way through the Riotroopers, with Kaixa slashing through them and Delta firing her Blaster.
They soon arrived at a large empty spot before another group of Riotroopers appeared in front of them, forcing them to stop and both Riders saw another group of Riotroopers behind them.
"There's just no end to these guys." Kaixa said in annoyance.
"Well, it's not like things could get any worse." Delta said before they heard an explosion nearby and saw Faiz and Orga also appearing in the area as they fell and rolled on the ground.
"You were saying?" Kaixa said before Faiz and Orga stood back up. "You two okay?"
"We're fine. But…" Faiz said before they all saw Psyga appearing in the air as he looked down at him.
"Psyga…Why am I not surprised?" Kaixa said.
"Is he a friend of yours?" Delta asked.
"I wouldn't call him that." Faiz said before he saw the Riotroopers. "Great…as if things weren't bad enough."
"Yeah. But now we have to deal with him." Kaixa said as he looked at Psyga. "If only we can fight him in the air."
Delta may have a solution to that but wonders if she should tell them before she turns to Kimi. She then remembers the conversation she said with her, with that, Delta made her decision.
"Screw it. I might be able to help with that." She told the others.
"Really?" Kaixa said.
"And would that be?" Faiz asked.
"You'll see. If…You can trust me." Delta said.
The others thought about it before they nodded to each other, and Faiz spoke to her.
"Then do it." Faiz said.
Delta then spoke to her Phone to call upon her Jetslinger.
"3-8-2-1."
[JETSLIGER COME CLOSER]
Not long after that, the Jetsliger soon appeared as it smashed through several containers and rams into several Riotroopers, sending them to the ground as it headed to Delta.
Delta jumps and lands onto the Jetsliger's seat, she then uses the controls to make the Jetsliger fly into the air which surprised Faiz and Kaixa.
"That thing can fly?!" Kaixa said.
"Appears so." Faiz said. "Anyway, best that we leave Psyga to her."
"Agreed." Orga nodded before the Riders on the ground battled the remaining Riotroopers.
Delta was charging at Psyga using her Jetsliger and Psyga chuckles.
"So, you want to dance with me in the air? Alright, guess I'll indulge ya!" Psyga said before he and Delta flew in the air.
Psyga flew beside the Jetsliger and fired at Delta, she took some hits, but it was something she couldn't handle, she then fires at Delta with her Blaster, and he avoids it.
"Nice try!" Psyga mocked her before he flew ahead of Delta.
"You're not getting away that easily!" Delta said before she made her Jetsliger sped up to follow him.
Kaixa runs forward as he slash upon the Riotroopers who were in front of him. Kaixa pulled the hammer on his weapon to activate its Gun Mode.
[BURST MODE]
Kaixa fires at the charging Riotroopers, destroying them as they fall to the ground and turn to ash.
Orga parries and avoids the Riotroopers attacks while using his sword to attack them. He then blocks one's slash attack with his forearm before he pushes it back and slashes on his chest.
Orga then kicks one Riotrooper on the chest followed with a punch on one's face.
Orga then pressed the 'Enter' button on his Phone.
[EXCEED CHARGE]
Orga assumes his stance as energy travels to his sword and creates his massive energy blade as a group of Riotroopers charge at him to attack, and Orga swings his sword to destroy them.
Faiz, armed with his Edge, attacks a few Riotroopers around him before he thrusts his weapon on one's chest, sending him to the ground.
Faiz then saw the remaining Riotroopers standing in front of him and were to fight him.
Faiz then removes and inserts his Axel Memory into his Phone.
[COMPLETE]
Faiz changes to his Axel Form. Just as the Riotroopers charge into attack, Faiz pressed the button on his Axel Watch to activate its timer.
[START UP]
Faiz assumes his stance with his Edge before he charges at the Riotroopers and attacks each of them with his weapon.
[3, 2, 1…TIME OUT: DEFORMATION]
Faiz stopped and appeared behind the Riotroopers before his symbol appeared on them as the troopers turned into ash, after that Faiz changed back to his Base Form and took a moment to flick his wrist.
Delta continues to chase after Psyga as they fly in the air. Psyga turns around for a moment to fire at her, Delta manages to avoid some of his shots while the rest manage to land some hits and the Jetsliger was able to withstand it.
"Let's see how you handle this!" Delta said before she touched on the Jetsliger's touchpad to lock onto Psyga and pressed a button to fire.
With that, the Jetsliger's sides opened up and revealed two missile racks containing eight missiles.
The Jetsliger fires its missiles at Psyga, the White Rider tries his best to avoid but they manage to make contact and explode around him.
Just as Delta thought she won, Psyga soon flew out of the fiery explosion which surprised her.
"No way!" Delta said.
"Nice try! But it will take more than that to beat me." Psyga said before he looked to the ground and saw that Faiz, Kaixa and Orga had defeated the Riotroopers. "But it seems we'll have to end things here. Until then."
Psyga soon flies away with Delta watching him leave.
"Just what is his deal?" She said outloud.
(Later)
After the battle, the Riders, Nishio and Kimi had regrouped with their friends as they were standing close to a cargo ship that was about to depart to see the couple off.
"I guess this is where we'll see you off." Kazuto said.
Reina grabs onto Kimi's hands.
"Kimi-san, I wish you the best of luck and I hope you'll have a happy future with Nishio-san." Reina told her.
"Thank you." Kimi said.
"Live your life to the fullest and have a happily ever after." Minato said, and Nishio smiled before he and Kimi held hands.
"Thank you…for everything." Nishio told the Riders and their friends.
As they held hands, both Nishio and Kimi boarded the cargo ship before it departed overseas with the Riders and their friends watching it leave with Reina and Ruru waving them goodbye.
Mai wipes away a tear on her eye.
"Honestly…I guess it really goes to show you that humans and Orphnoch aren't so different." Mai said and Kazuto nodded in agreement.
"Yep." Kazuto then turns to Aika. "Don't you think so?"
"Hmph." Aika scoffed before she turned away from them. "Don't think this changes anything."
Aika then leaves with the others watching her.
"Man…Just what is up with that girl?" Mai said with her hands on her hips.
Kazuto sighed while rubbing the back of his head.
"Well…Sometimes the death of a loved one can do that to you." Kazuto said. He then remembers how his father had died, it made him wonder one thing after his experience with Aika so far. "In one wrong move, could I have turned out like Hoshimiya?"
That's when they heard someone's stomach growling and without a doubt in their mind, they turned to Reina before her stomachs growled once again.
Reina blushed and lowered her head in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry…It just occurred to me that we hadn't eaten yet…" Reina mutters and the others chuckle.
"Yeah…I guess we're all pretty hungry after what happened. How about we go and enjoy our long-deserved sushi." Kazuto said and the others nodded in agreement.
(Next day)
Morning once again arrived. After doing her hygiene and putting her uniform on, Koito left her apartment room and walked down the stairs.
When she arrived on the ground, Koito yawned with her hand over her mouth, she then heard someone talking.
"You can't just keep putting me out of the loop like that."
Koito blinks before she sees Kiba standing on the sidewalk while talking to someone with his Phone.
"Kiba?" Koito said.
"Even so, that's no reason to keep me out of the loop. Especially since this was the third time." Kiba said.
"Third time?" Koito repeated.
"No! No, of course not. I know, I hadn't forgotten anything. But still, we're supposed to be partners and we're supposed to trust each other. Somehow, I doubt that…Fine. Just focus things on your end, and I'll handle things on my end." Kiba said before he ended the call and put his Phone away, that's when he noticed Koito had arrived as she walked towards him. "Koito? When did you get here?"
"Just now. Who were you talking to?" Koito asked.
Kiba was a bit concerned before managing to regain his composure.
"It…It was an old acquaintance of mine. It wasn't anything serious, he just needed some advice for some personal stuff." Kiba explained.
"Hmm…" Koito hummed before she shrugged. "Alright. It's not like it's any of my business."
"Thank you. Come on, we can't be late for school." Kiba said before he and Koito walked on the sidewalk together.
Koito then remembers the conversation Kiba had with whoever he had contacted and somehow, she doubts it wasn't anything serious. But she decided not to pry, out of respect for Kiba's privacy.
