Chapter 4: Wild Cat:
Donnie's POV:
I was trying out for the school basketball team.
"Alright, let's see what you got," says the coach.
Not to brag, but... I crushed it! Thanks to my skills I learned from the jungle and refusal to accept my limitations! "How was that," I asked.
"You're in," says the Coach.
. . .
I met up with Adam. "How'd you do," asks Adam.
"I made the team," I said, "you gonna try out?"
"Nahh," says Adam, "just because I'm black, doesn't mean I have any basketball skills!"
"Attention Students," says Principal Long, "the whole school is on lockdown! There is a lioness on the loose!"
"A lioness," asks Adam.
"Fun fact," I said, "the lioness does the hunting!"
"What part of that is fun," asks Adam, "it means we're prey!"
"Yeah... we should try to avoid her at all costs," I said.
. . .
Adam and I were running to a safe room, but then I heard a scream. I then ran towards it. "Where are you going," asks Adam.
"Someone's in trouble," I said.
. . .
I then saw the lioness and she was preparing to attack Anna!
"Eet ees ahs eef I ahm een zat movie, prey ahnd I mean ze 2007 one," says Anna.
I then jumped on the lioness, and she was trying to shake me off. Then I got off and she ran away.
"Dang," says Adam.
"Dahnnie, you were brahve ahnd heroic," says Anna.
"Does that mean you're into me," I asked, trying to get a kiss, but Anna slaps me.
"I steell hahve tahste," says Anna. She then walks away.
"Yeah, she digs me," I said.
"As long as she doesn't bury you," says Adam.
. . .
"I'm telling you, Donnie, I could never do what you do," says Adam.
"I'm sure you got your own skills," I said.
"Wait, someone's coming," says Adam.
Two guys came in and one of them has a wooden leg! "Out of the way, Kids!"
"Wait, I know you guys," I said, "Kip and Biederman!" The two did not recognize me. "My sister's foiled your plans!" Nothing. "Wait." I then took off my shirt and my shoes.
"Awe, the wild boy," says Kip.
"Right, you," says Biederman, "I forgot about you."
"What are you doing here," I asked.
"We're being paid to take care of this school's... cat problem," says Kip.
"Yeah, we're gonna take care of this lioness," says Biederman, "honestly!"
"You guys," I asked, "it's been a while, but I remember how you guys never did anything honestly!"
"Things have changed, Boy," says Kip, "I remember when you couldn't talk, instead, just kept babbling!"
"Yeah, the blond Thornberry was supposed to teach you English," says Biederman.
"She managed to do it," says Donnie.
"Anyway, we're gonna get this lioness," says Kip. The two then walked away.
"They seem... kind of creepy," says Adam, "you know those guys?"
"They're like my family's worst enemies," I said, "we gotta find the lioness before they do! They might hurt her!"
"I'm not gonna like this, am I," I asked.
Kip's POV:
"I wasn't expecting a Thornberry," I said.
"I guess they're done with the whole Animal TV show thing," says Biederman.
"It's the wild one too," I said.
"Why is that bad again," asks Biederman.
"He's like an animal," I said, "we can't let him stop us!"
Donnie's POV:
Adam and I were looking for the lioness. "So, your family deals with wild animals a lot," asks Adam.
"Yeah," I said, "my sister even made friends with a tiger!"
"Great," says Adam, "so, how did she do it?"
Truth is... I don't remember! I know Eliza had some sort of special connection... but I can't remember what it is! It was so long ago! Oh well!
. . .
We found the Lioness in the cafeteria. The Lunch Ladies were on tables. "I told you we shouldn't use so much meat," says one lunch lady. She's a vegan.
"Now what," asks Adam.
"I... don't... know," I said. Then a net was fired on the lioness. It was Kip and Biederman.
"We'll take it from here," says Kip, "let's go!"
"Anyone ever tell you that you have beautiful eyes," Biederman asks one lunch lady. Kip then hit him and dragged him away.
"Come on," I said.
. . .
"Maybe we should let those two take her," says Adam.
"She's just an animal," I said, "come on!"
. . .
We were following Kip and Biederman. "You're going to make a nice rug," says Kip.
"Maybe you're right," says Adam, "we gotta stop them!"
I then jumped on Kip. Adam was facing Biederman. "Get off me," says Kip.
"What skills you got," asks Biederman, "you a basketball player or a rapper or a dancer?"
"Dude, not all black guys do that," says Adam. Biederman then tried to attack him, but Adam managed to dodge him, and he fell. "You wanna know what I do? I play video games!"
"Way to go," I said. Kip was about to hit me, but I managed to knock him out.
"Now what," asks Adam.
"Now, we take her back to the zoo," I said.
. . .
The lioness was back in the zoo, and no one knows it was me and Adam.
In the next chapter, Donnie looks after Anna's poodle.
