Chapter 11: Wild West:
Donnie's POV:
I was flipping through channels, but then I stopped on the news. "Huhh," I asked.
"This city seems to be in danger by... the ghost of Jimmy the Kid!"
"Jimmy the Kid," I asked, "who's that?"
. . .
I was with my friends. "So, you guys saw the news," I asked.
"I just hope Charlize doesn't find out," says Adam.
"What do you-"
"I keep telling people ghosts are real," says Charlize, "so, we need a plan!"
"There's no such as ghosts," says Piper, "look, maybe if we learned more about Jimmy the Kid..."
"History? No thanks," says Charlize, "we should all worry more about the ghost!"
"I'm good with whatever," says Nathan.
. . .
We were then at the library. "It says here, Jimmy the Kid was shot by the mayor of his hometown," says Piper, "but according to this... that town is nowhere near here!"
"That's weird," says Adam.
"I think we should stake out tonight," I said.
. . .
There was this bank and that night, we were expecting him.
"This is a lot more boring than I thought it would be," I said.
"Wait, I see someone," says Nathan.
It looked like a cowboy alright. "HEY," I shouted. The cowboy then ran away, and I chased after them.
. . .
I then lost them. But I found something weird... footprints!
. . .
I showed the others a picture of the footprints.
"Okay, so it's not a ghost," says Charlize.
"You see," asks Piper, "but what's this all about?"
"I'm not sure," I said.
"Wait, our fake ghost always shows up at banks and museums," says Adam, "he must've done this scam to steal commit crimes!"
"Then we gotta catch this guy," says Nathan.
"I think I have an idea," I said.
. . .
We were then at the museum. They got a big exhibit on a giant gold nugget. We were waiting to spring our trap! Then the ghost came.
"Got'cha," I said.
"Wait, something doesn't make sense," says Charlize, "if he is just trying to commit crimes... then why does he always walk past these places?"
"Who cares," I asked. I then chased after the ghost.
. . .
"Lost him again," I said. I then found the footprints again.
. . .
"Here's another idea," says Piper, "how'bout we follow the footprints next time?"
"That... could also work," says Nathan.
. . .
We were searching. "There they are," I said. We then followed the footprints.
. . .
We continued. "This must be his hideout," I said.
"Wait, his hideout's the police station," asks Adam.
"Thair 'es! That's thuh button who keeps chasin' after me!"
The police then surround us. "Wait," I said, "he's been posing as a ghost!"
"What you... wait... is that hooaah because kept screamin' whenevher thay done saw me? thay all thihnk ah'm a ghost? Ah'm jus' a modern poke! That 'as happened before! Ah jus' came ta this city ta tay-uk a look at thuh big city!"
"But you kept walking past banks and museums," I said.
"Ah was jus' takin' a look aroun' eend this city 'as puh-lenny awf those theyer! Ifin' ah was purtendin' t' be a ghost t' rob 'em, don't ya thihnk ah would've robbed 'em by now?"
"Told you," says Charlize.
"But why'd you keep running every time that I came chasing you," I asked.
"Because ya kept chasin' me! who wouldn't cut duhrt ifin' a loco kid chased after 'em?"
"Sorry about this, Mister..." The cop begins.
"Leroy 'Coyote' 'anson!"
"Well... since this was a misunderstanding, are you going to press charges," asks the cop.
"Not ifin' sumone tells this city that ah ain't no ghost!"
. . .
So, we make sure everyone in the city knows that there is no ghost!
"Well, Charlize was right about the motive," says Piper, "but I was still right about the fact that there is no ghost!"
I then stopped and thought I saw something... ghostly.
In the next chapter, Donnie meets some classmates that want to be as wild as him. Jimmy the Kid's from Lost in the West, but I know nothing about it, other than the fact that two guys end up stuck in western times.
