Chapter 17: Wild Ghosts:
Donnie's POV:
According to legend, long ago, there was a woman who was excited for her wedding day. It was to be on the beach, but then she found that her fiancée left her at the altar. She became very angry! She then died and now her spirit haunts that beach as... The Beach Bride!
We were all reading that story. "It's nonsense," says Piper.
"Well, I think it's true," says Charlize.
"Charlize, last time we saw a ghost, it turned out to be a misunderstanding," says Piper.
"Just because the people mistook some random tourist for a ghost, doesn't mean they don't exist," says Charlize, "and I'm gonna prove it! We're going to the beach tonight!"
. . .
We then arrived at the beach. "Wow, I like the beach better during the day," says Nathan.
"Let's go," says Charlize.
. . .
We were walking through the beach. "I just had a thought," says Adam, "if we do find the Beach Bride, what's to stop her from attacking us?"
"Oh... I didn't think that through," says Charlize.
Then a man showed up in front of us. "Hey, what are you kids up to?"
"We're looking for the Beach Bride," I said.
"Oh, her," says the man.
"Is that a problem," asks Piper.
"Let's just say I think they got the story wrong," says the man, "but that's just my opinion!" He then left.
"Weirdo," I said, "what do you think he meant?"
"I don't know," says Charlize, "I don't care about history, I just want to prove that ghosts are real. Let's go!"
. . .
We then found the spot where the wedding was supposed to take place. I was sniffing around. "Alright, ghosts don't leave scents," I said.
. . .
We were then waiting for the Beach Bride. "Maybe that legend was fake," says Nathan, "maybe it's just a rip off of that Ghost Bride I read about!"
"The stories are pretty similar," says Adam.
"I keep telling you guys, ghosts don't exist," says Piper.
"I'm going for a walk," I said.
. . .
I then started walking when I thought I heard something. I took a look and saw a woman in a wedding dress. "Excuse me..." She then jumpscared me! You know, like in a video game? I then ran and this woman chased after me.
. . .
I was hiding and the ghost floated away. "That was close," I said. I then found a weird book. I then looked inside.
Story:
It was the 1960's and I was getting ready to propose to the man I love, but then she kept getting in the way. She was determined to get between us and...
Donnie's POV:
She must be the reason he left her! I then heard something and ran.
. . .
I was hiding in the lifeguard's booth thing. I then got out the book again.
Story:
I decided to talk to the man I love somewhere where no one would find us. Not only would it keep that stalker away, but... well, no one approved of our relationship at that time...
Donnie's POV:
I then heard something. I saw the ghost. I then leaped away. The ghost was surprised to see how far I can leap. I then ran.
. . .
I was hiding in a port-a-potty. I then looked at the book, but what I read next!
Story:
I thought the man I loved was back, but instead, I was tricked into proposing to that woman! She accepted a proposal that was not meant for her and told everyone she knew! She wanted the wedding on the beach! While everyone was there, waiting, I refused to take part in a wedding that I had no intention of in the first place! I tried to explain, but no one cared for my relationship because it's with a man! So, I left her at the alter and the man I love and I left to find a place where we can be accepted!
Donnie's POV:
This wasn't written by the Beach Bride, this was written by the man the Beach Bride tried to force to marry her," I said. Then I heard a knock on the door. I was scared, but I answered.
"Donnie, are you done in there," asks Nathan.
"Hurry up and go," I said, "we gotta tell the others!"
. . .
"So, the Beach Bride is actually a home wrecker," asks Charlize.
"I kind of like that twist," says Piper.
"Yeah, it's nice to learn the ghost of the story was the bad guy for a change," says Adam.
"That ghost was probably after me to prevent anyone from finding out the truth," I said.
"Or you just imagined the ghost," says Piper.
We then heard something and the ghost showed up.
"It's the Beach Bride," says Charlize.
The ghost then created a storm. "Let's go," I said. We then ran.
. . .
We ran and the ghost chased after us. "Look," says Piper, "there's my Mom! She's a reporter!"
We then ran to her. "Piper, what's going on," asks Piper's Mom, "you're not dealing with another stalker, are you?"
"It's complicated," says Piper.
I looked and saw the ghost couldn't leave the beach.
. . .
Piper's Mom then revealed the truth about the Beach Bride on all the news!
"I'm still not sure what we saw," says Piper, "but I'm glad that man stealer's getting what she deserved!"
"Me too," says Charlize.
. . .
I then returned to the beach and saw the Beach Bride. She looked disappointed. Then there was fire around her and she was dragged down.
"Now that the truth is revealed, she is being sent down where, hopefully, she will regret her actions," says the mysterious man, "all the murders she's committed because of a love she tried to force!"
"Hey, one question," I asked, "who are you?"
"You haven't figured it out? You read my journel!"
"What," I asked.
Then another man came. They held hands as they were going up a staircase that wasn't there before. That's when I realized what was going on!
In the next chapter, Crystal comes back again.
