A/N
Hello,
Welcome to Chapter Three!
First, I'd like to address one review. Someone asked why I chose to make this a crossover if Naruto is out of character but still retains his appearance. Well, I'm a big Naruto fan, and I enjoy using him as the main character in my stories.
I like to use my imagination and write different, random stories about Naruto after all, it is fanfiction.
I hope everyone is still enjoying the story so far.
Chapter 3 – Binge Eater
The tension in the Eleventh Ward was palpable as Aogiri Tree's presence grew stronger. Rumors of their ruthless methods and ambitious plans spread like wildfire. Despite their best efforts to remain unnoticed, Naruto and Rize couldn't escape Aogiri's watchful eyes.
One evening, as they were returning to their shelter, they were approached by a group of Aogiri members. A tall man, with an imposing figure and cold eyes, addressed Rize directly.
"Rize Kamishiro," he said, his voice authoritative. "Aogiri has a mission, and we need your skills."
Naruto felt his heart sink. He gave Rize a pleading look, hoping she would refuse. But Rize, ever the manipulator, saw an opportunity. She turned to Naruto, her eyes filled with a mix of determination and reassurance.
"It's okay, Naruto," she said softly. "We can't afford to refuse. It's just one mission."
Naruto wanted to argue, but Rize's words had a way of disarming him. Reluctantly, he nodded, feeling a growing sense of dread.
The Aogiri man smirked, satisfied. "Good. Follow us."
The darkened corridors of the abandoned building echoed with the distant sounds of violence. Rize, clad in a sleek, white mask with a purple outline, moved through the shadows with a predator's grace. The mask, reminiscent of Naruto's own fox mask, gave her an air of both mystery and menace. Tonight, she was on a mission for Aogiri, a raid that would test her skills and feed her insatiable hunger.
Rize's instructions had been clear: infiltrate the building, eliminate any resistance, and ensure the mission's success. As she navigated the labyrinthine hallways, she couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement. The chaos, the danger, the hunt—it was everything she thrived on.
As she rounded a corner, she came face to face with two of Aogiri's Executives, Ayato Kirishima and Yakumo Oomori, also known as Yamori. Their presence was imposing, their eyes gleaming with authority and power.
"Rize," Ayato greeted, his voice low and commanding. "You know what needs to be done. Leave no survivors."
Yakumo grinned, his eyes glinting with sadistic pleasure. "Make it messy, Rize. Show them what Aogiri is capable of."
Rize nodded, her smile hidden beneath the mask. "Consider it done."
With that, she slipped into the shadows once more, her senses on high alert. The building was a maze, each turn bringing her closer to her prey. The air was thick with tension, the promise of violence hanging heavily.
Rize moved silently, her predatory instincts guiding her. She came upon a group of guards, their voices hushed as they discussed their orders. Without hesitation, Rize sprang into action. Her kagune, a menacing display of lethal beauty, emerged with a swift, fluid motion.
The guards barely had time to react. Rize's kagune struck with deadly precision, cutting through flesh and bone with ease. Their screams filled the air, a symphony of terror that only fueled her hunger.
As Rize continued through the building, each encounter ending in a flurry of violence and bloodshed. She was a force of nature, her movements precise and deadly. The white mask with its purple outline became a symbol of terror, a harbinger of death.
In one room, she encountered a group of heavily armed soldiers. They opened fire, the bullets tearing through the air, but Rize was faster. She dodged and weaved, her kagune lashing out to disarm and disable. One by one, they fell, their weapons useless against her relentless assault.
As she stood amidst the carnage, Rize felt a surge of exhilaration. The power, the control it was intoxicating. She removed her mask for a moment, allowing herself a deep breath of the blood-scented air. The taste of victory was sweet, the bodies around her a testament to her prowess.
But Rize knew she had to keep moving. There were still pockets of resistance throughout the building, and she was determined to eliminate them all. She moved with purpose, her mask back in place, her kagune ready to strike.
In another corridor, she found a small group of survivors huddled together, their fear palpable. One of them, a young woman with wide, terrified eyes, pleaded for mercy. Rize hesitated for a fraction of a second, Naruto's words resonated inside her mind, but the ghoul within her was relentless.
"I'm sorry," Rize said softly, her voice barely a whisper. "But this is the way it has to be"
With that, she struck, her kagune ending their lives swiftly. The taste of their fear and desperation was bitter, but it fuelled her resolve. She had a mission to complete, and nothing would stand in her way.
Rize looked around the room, her hunger gnawing at her insides. She removed her mask, her eyes scanning the carnage. The scent of blood was overwhelming, and she gave in to her ghoul instincts once more. Kneeling beside the fallen, she feasted, her kagune retracting as she tore into the warm flesh.
Each bite was a surge of power and satisfaction, a reminder of her dominance and strength. The taste of victory was sweet, the bodies around her a testament to her prowess. As she fed, she felt a deep, primal connection to the hunt, a reminder of who she truly was.
When the mission was finally over, Rize emerged from the building, her mask once again concealing her identity. Ayato and Yakumo were waiting, their expressions unreadable.
"You've done well, Rize," Ayato said, his tone approving. "Your skills are impressive."
Yakumo grinned, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "You made quite the mess. Just the way I like it."
Rize nodded, her smile hidden beneath the mask. "Thank you. It was a... satisfying mission."
As she walked away, Rize felt a sense of accomplishment and power. She had proven herself to Aogiri, and more importantly, she had fed her insatiable hunger. The mission had been a success, and she was ready for whatever came next.
The streets of the 11th Ward were bathed in the eerie glow of the moonlight as Rize prowled the city, her reputation as the "Binge Eater" growing with each mission she undertook. The name struck fear into the hearts of humans and ghouls alike, a testament to her insatiable hunger and relentless prowess.
Naruto had witnessed Rize's transformation firsthand. The once playful and carefree girl he had known had become a force of nature, her ghoul instincts driving her to new heights of brutality and efficiency. Tonight, he followed her from the shadows, curious and concerned about the depths she was willing to sink to.
Rize moved through the darkened alleys with a predator's grace, her senses honed and her instincts sharp. She had a target in mind, a small group of humans who had unwittingly wandered into ghoul territory. As she approached, she allowed her kagune to unfurl, the tendrils of her Rinkaku glistening ominously in the moonlight.
Naruto watched from a distance, hidden in the shadows. He could see the gleam of excitement in Rize's eyes, the way she relished the hunt. It was both mesmerizing and horrifying.
The humans had no chance. Rize struck with lethal precision, her kagune slicing through the air with deadly grace. The first victim fell quickly, their scream cut short as Rize's kagune pierced their chest. The others tried to run, but Rize was faster. She moved like a blur, her movements fluid and deadly.
Naruto's heart pounded in his chest as he watched. He had seen Rize fight before, but this was different. There was a ruthlessness to her actions, a cold efficiency that left him both in awe and in fear.
As the last of the humans fell, Rize knelt beside one of the bodies, her eyes gleaming with hunger. She removed her mask, revealing a predatory smile. Without hesitation, she sank her teeth into the warm flesh, the taste of blood and fear intoxicating her senses.
Naruto stepped forward, unable to remain hidden any longer. "Rize," he called softly, his voice tinged with concern.
Rize looked up, her eyes locking onto his. For a moment, the cold, predatory gleam softened, replaced by something more familiar. "Naruto," she greeted, her voice a mix of surprise and delight. "What are you doing here?"
Naruto approached cautiously, his eyes never leaving hers. "I wanted to see you in action. To understand what drives you."
Rize smiled, wiping the blood from her lips. "This is who I am, Naruto. The thrill of the hunt, the taste of victory it's intoxicating."
Naruto's gaze hardened. "But at what cost, Rize? You're becoming known as the Binge Eater. You're drawing too much attention to yourself."
Rize stood, her expression defiant. "Let them fear me. Let them know what I'm capable of. This is our world, Naruto. We have to dominate it or be consumed by it."
Naruto shook his head, struggling to reconcile the girl he cared for with the ruthless predator before him. "There's more to life than just surviving, Rize. There has to be."
Rize's eyes softened slightly, a hint of the old Rize shining through. "Maybe for you, Naruto. But for me, this is the only way."
Naruto sighed, feeling a mixture of sadness and resignation. "Just be careful, Rize. I don't want to lose you."
Rize stepped closer, her hand reaching out to touch his cheek. "You won't lose me, Naruto. I promise."
Over the next few months, Rize continued to build her reputation as the Binge Eater. Each mission she undertook was more brutal and more efficient than the last. Her name became synonymous with fear, her presence a harbinger of death.
Naruto and Rize was on another mission for Aogiri, but it was grim from the start. They were tasked with ambushing a small group of CCG investigators who were patrolling the outskirts of the Eleventh Ward. Naruto's stomach churned as they moved through the shadows, his mind racing with thoughts of the consequences.
As they approached their target, Naruto noticed that one of the investigators was young, barely out of his teens. He couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy. These weren't faceless enemies; they were humans with lives and families.
The ambush was swift and brutal. The CCG investigators were caught off guard, and a fierce battle ensued. Naruto fought reluctantly, trying to incapacitate rather than kill. But Rize was different. Her kagune lashed out with deadly precision, her eyes filled with a cold, predatory hunger.
In the chaos, one of the investigators fell to the ground, wounded and defenseless. He looked up at Naruto, his eyes wide with fear.
"Please," the young investigator begged, his voice trembling. "Don't kill me. I have a family."
Naruto hesitated, his heart aching with the weight of the moment. He didn't want to be a cold blooded killer. But before he could act, Rize stepped forward, her eyes gleaming with savage delight.
"Rize, don't!" Naruto shouted, but his words fell on deaf ears.
With a swift and merciless strike, Rize silenced the investigator's pleas, her kagune slicing through him. The young man's life ended with a choked gasp, and Naruto watched in horror as Rize began to devour him right there, her face contorted in a grotesque expression of satisfaction.
"Rize, stop!" Naruto's voice was filled with anguish, but Rize ignored him, lost in her insatiable hunger.
The other Aogiri members looked on with approval, their expressions cold and detached. Naruto felt a wave of revulsion and despair wash over him. This was not what he wanted. This was not the life he had dreamed of.
When Rize finally finished, she looked up at Naruto, her face smeared with blood. "We had to, Naruto. It was us or them."
Naruto's eyes were filled with tears of frustration and sorrow. "But he was begging for his life. He was helpless."
Rize stood, her expression softening slightly as she approached him. "This is the world we live in, Naruto. We can't afford to show mercy. Not if we want to survive."
Naruto looked away, his heart heavy with the realization that Rize cared more about her own survival and cravings than the lives they were taking. The bond they had shared felt tainted, corrupted by the violence and bloodshed.
As they made their way back to their shelter, the silence between them was thick with unspoken words. Naruto couldn't shake the image of the young investigator's terrified eyes, the sound of his desperate pleas echoing in his mind as he confronted Rize once more.
"Rize, this has to stop. You're drawing too much attention. The CCG is intensifying their efforts because of you."
Rize's eyes flashed with anger. "What would you have me do, Naruto? Sit back and wait for them to find us? To kill us?"
Naruto's expression softened. "No, but there has to be another way. We can survive without becoming monsters."
Rize laughed, a bitter edge to her voice. "We're ghouls, Naruto. We are monsters. This is our nature."
Naruto reached out, his hand gently cupping her face. "You don't have to be. We don't have to be."
For a moment, Rize's anger melted away, replaced by a deep, aching sadness. "I wish I could believe that, Naruto. But I've seen too much. Done too much."
Naruto pulled her into an embrace, his voice soft but determined. "Then let me believe it for both of us. Let me help you find another way."
Rize clung to him, her resolve wavering. In his arms, she felt a glimmer of hope, a possibility that maybe, just maybe, there was a way out of the darkness.
Timeskip -
Three years went by as Naruto was still haunted by the things he had done as Shino, the mask given to him by Matasaka Kamishiro feeling more like a curse than a blessing. He wanted to leave that life behind, to find some semblance of normalcy. But in the immediate aftermath, survival was paramount, and for that, he still needed to rely on his ghoul abilities.
For the first year, Naruto continued to work with Aogiri Tree, albeit reluctantly. He participated in missions, balancing the ghoul and human sides of his identity. Each mission was a reminder of the darkness he was trying to escape, but it also provided a means to survive and protect Rize.
One mission stood out among the rest. Aogiri tasked Naruto with infiltrating a CCG facility to gather intelligence. Wearing the Shino mask, Naruto moved through the shadows, his Rinkaku kagune lashing out with lethal precision. He disabled guards and hacked into the CCG's systems, retrieving vital data.
During the mission, Naruto encountered a young CCG intern, barely older than himself. The intern looked at him with wide, terrified eyes. Naruto hesitated, seeing a reflection of his own fear and confusion. Instead of killing the intern, he incapacitated him and left him in a safe spot, a small act of mercy that lingered in his mind.
The missions with Aogiri were necessary, but each one pushed him further away from the person he wanted to become. He knew he couldn't keep living like this, he needed to get him and Rize out of here.
As the second year began, Naruto started looking for a way out. He decided to check out a different ward, hoping to show that he can have a normal life. Naruto found a small-time job at a bookstore in the 20th Ward, a place where he could blend in and live quietly. The bookstore job was perfect; it allowed him to be surrounded by the books he loved, offering a peaceful escape from his chaotic life.
Naruto spent some days working at the bookstore, shelving books and helping customers. The simple, repetitive tasks were a welcome change from the violence and danger of his previous life. He enjoyed the tranquillity, the scent of old paper, and the quiet conversations with regular customers.
One evening, while organizing a stack of new arrivals, Naruto found a book about classical literature that reminded him of his dreams. It reignited his passion for learning, and he decided to pursue further education. He started studying in his free time, preparing for the entrance exam to Kami University.
After months of studying, in his third year with Aogiri, Naruto passed the entrance exam for Kami University. The sense of accomplishment was overwhelming. He felt like he was finally moving towards the life he had always wanted.
The day Naruto received his acceptance letter to Kami University was a turning point. He had studied tirelessly, balancing his work at the bookstore with his preparation for the entrance exam. When the letter arrived, he tore it open with trembling hands.
"Congratulations, you have been accepted to Kami University."
He exhaled, a wave of relief and joy washing over him. It was a step towards the future he had always dreamed of.
With his acceptance into university, Naruto knew he needed a place closer to campus. He found a very small apartment, just big enough for his essentials, but it was his own space, a symbol of his independence and new beginning. The apartment was modest, a single room with a tiny kitchen and a bed in the corner. It wasn't much, but to Naruto, it was everything.
He wouldn't have to keep it up any longer, he could leave with Rize for good.
One night, as Naruto sat alone on the rooftop of their shelter, Rize approached him, her expression unreadable.
"Naruto," she said softly, sitting beside him. "What are you thinking about?"
Naruto sighed, his eyes fixed on the horizon. "I'm thinking about leaving, Rize. I can't keep doing this. I want a different life."
Rize's eyes flashed with a mix of anger and hurt. "You can't leave, Naruto. We need each other. We've survived because we're together."
Naruto looked at her, his expression filled with determination. "I can't stay, Rize. Not like this. I need to find a way to live that doesn't involve killing."
Rize's face softened, but there was a hint of desperation in her eyes. "We'll find a way, Naruto. Just don't leave me. I can't do this without you."
Naruto felt a pang of guilt and sorrow. Despite everything, he cared for Rize, but he knew he couldn't continue down this path. "I have a plan; just promise you'll trust me."
Rize nodded, though her eyes held a darkness that made Naruto uneasy. "I promise."
As the days passed, Naruto continued to plan their escape, but the situation grew more dire. Aogiri's plans were coming to fruition, and the group was preparing for a major strike against the CCG. Naruto knew they had to leave before it was too late.
One evening, as they prepared for another mission, Naruto pulled Rize aside. "Rize, we need to leave tonight. Aogiri's planning something big, and I don't want to be part of it."
He could no longer ignore the reality of their situation. He had to leave, to seek the life he had always dreamed of, and he wanted to give Rize the life he had started to make for himself over the past three years.
Rize looked at him, her eyes flickering with a mix of emotions. She had grown accustomed to their life, but deep down, she knew Naruto's words were true. "Naruto, are you sure? What if it's not safe?"
Naruto nodded, his determination unwavering. "It's safe, just trust me."
Rize hesitated, her gaze dropping to the floor. "Alright, Naruto. I'll come with you."
As they prepared to leave, the tension between them palpable, they were confronted by Hagi, the leader of the branch they had once aligned with. His expression was stern, his eyes filled with a mix of concern and frustration.
"Naruto, Rize," Hagi said, blocking their path. "I can't let you leave. Rize's far too important to Aogiri"
Naruto felt a surge of anger and sorrow. He had hoped to avoid confrontation, but Hagi's words confirmed his worst fears. "Hagi, we're leaving. We can't stay here anymore."
Hagi shook his head, his voice rising in urgency. "You don't understand, Naruto. Rize is using you. She wants only wants what's best for herself. She's too important to our goal, Agiri won't let you just leave"
Before Naruto could respond, Rize stepped forward, her eyes cold and determined. "Hagi, you don't get to decide our fate."
In a swift, brutal motion, Rize's kagune struck Hagi down, ending his life before he could react. Naruto watched in horror, his heart breaking as he realized the depth of Rize's darkness. She had become a creature of instinct and hunger, far removed from the girl he once knew.
As they left the Eleventh Ward, the weight of their actions hung heavily over them. Naruto felt a hollow emptiness inside, a growing sense of despair at the path they were on. He had tried to save Rize, to offer her a chance at redemption, but it seemed that the darkness within her was too strong.
The journey to their new home was fraught with tension and silence. Naruto struggled to reconcile his desire for a normal life with the reality of Rize's nature. He had once believed that they could find a way to live peacefully, but each step forward seemed to lead them deeper into darkness.
When they finally arrived at Naruto's apartment, as he felt a flicker of hope. It was a modest place, but it was theirs.
"Rize," Naruto said, as they stood in their new home. "This is our chance. We can start over here. Please, try to control your cravings. We can't keep living like we did."
Rize looked at him, her eyes filled with a mix of longing and resignation. "I'll try, Naruto. But you must understand, it's not easy. The hunger... it's always there."
Naruto nodded, his expression resolute. "I know. But we must try. We have to be better than this."
As they settled into their new life, Naruto focused on his work and studies, determined to create a future for himself. He found solace in learning, in the hope that one day he could write his story, share his experiences, and perhaps find some measure of peace.
Rize, however, continued to struggle. Her cravings were a constant battle, and despite her promises, there were moments when she succumbed to her ghoul instincts. Each time, Naruto felt a pang of sorrow, a reminder of the darkness that still threatened to consume them both.
weeks passed, and Naruto's routine provided a semblance of stability. He attended classes, worked diligently, and slowly built a life for himself. But the shadow of Rize's actions loomed over him, a constant reminder of the fragility of their existence.
One evening, as they sat together in their apartment, Naruto finally confronted the growing distance between them. "Rize, we can't keep going like this. I need to know that you're committed to controlling your cravings. Otherwise, we won't make it."
Rize's eyes filled with tears, her voice trembling. "I want to, Naruto. I really do. But it's so hard. The hunger... it never goes away."
Naruto reached out, taking her hand in his. "We can find a way, Rize. But you must be willing to fight it. For both of us."
Rize nodded, her resolve strengthening. "I'll try, Naruto. I'll do everything I can."
Despite the challenges they faced, Naruto held onto the hope that they could find a way to live peacefully. He continued to pursue his dreams, driven by the belief that a better life was possible. And though the path ahead was uncertain, he knew that if he continued to strive for something more, there was a chance for redemption, for both himself and Rize.
As they settled into a relatively peaceful existence in the 20th Ward. Naruto worked at a small bookstore, a job he enjoyed for its quiet and simplicity. He attended classes part-time, diligently working toward his goal of education and a normal life. Rize, meanwhile, spent her days at home, often watching TV or reading the books Naruto brought her. While Naruto found solace in this new life, for Rize, it was a dull charade, a mere shadow of the excitement she once craved.
To Rize, the tranquillity felt stifling. She didn't mind Naruto's attempts to blend in with the human world, but it all changed the day he brought a girl from school back to their apartment.
