(Muffy is walking down the hallway, looking determined)

Muffy: (to herself) I'll show them. I'll become one of them.

(Muffy starts walking up to the Ashleys, who are sitting at a table)

Muffy: (confidently) Hi, I'm Ashley... Crosswire.

Ashley A: (confused) Wait, aren't you Muffy?

Muffy (now calling herself Ashley): (nervously) Oh, no, no, no. I mean, Ashley. I just... changed my name.

Ashley B: (skeptically) Today?

Ashley (formerly Muffy): (desperately) Yes! And I'm 10 now too! (holds up ten fingers)

Ashley Q: (creeped out) Okay... Ashley... why are you doing this?

Ashley (formerly Muffy): (excitedly) Because I want to be part of your group! We can be Ashleys together!

(The Ashleys exchange uncomfortable glances)

Ashley A: (firmly) Muffy... I mean, Ashley... we appreciate the effort, but it's not going to work.

Ashley (formerly Muffy): (pleadingly) But why not?! I'm just like you!

Ashley B: (creeped out) That's the problem.

(The Ashleys start to walk away, with Muffy/Ashley following behind)

Ashley (formerly Muffy): (desperately) Wait! Don't go! We can be Ashley-squared!

(The scene ends with the Ashleys rolling their eyes and Muffy/Ashley looking dejected)

(Gus is sitting at a table, eating lunch, when Muffy/Ashley walks up)

Muffy/Ashley: (sighing) Hey, Gus. I'm just so frustrated. I want to be part of the Ashleys' group so badly.

Gus: (sympathetically) Ah, I know how you feel. I once tried to change my name to Guy to be cooler.

Muffy/Ashley: (curiously) Really? What happened?

Gus: (laughing) Well, it didn't quite work out. I mean, I started calling myself Guy, but everyone just kept calling me Gus anyway.

Muffy/Ashley: (giggling) That's so funny!

Gus: (smiling) Yeah, I know. And the worst part was, I was trying so hard to be someone I'm not. But being yourself is way cooler than trying to be someone else.

Muffy: (thoughtfully) Yeah... I guess you're right.

Gus: (encouragingly) Definitely! I mean, you're already awesome, Muffy. Don't try to be someone else. Just be yourself.

Muffy: (smiling) Thanks, Gus. You're a really good friend.

Gus: (smiling back) No problem, Muffy. That's what friends are for.

(The scene ends with Muffy looking happy and content, having learned a valuable lesson from Gus)
