Chapter 9: Chaos Unleashed
The Numeron Code. With the power of all 100 ancient Number Xyz cards that made up its genetic code combined one could obtain omnipotence. Team RWBY watched many of their friends, Team JNPR, Qrow, Ozpin and even their parents fall in the war with the Witch Salem and her forces over these numbers, sent to the shadow realm for all eternity. Now they feared it was their turn to join them.
"This is the end Team RWBY. You should have never thought you'd have the strength to oppose a god." Salem coldly said as she raised her demonic bleach white hand, wrapped in black stripes that could make an infant die of shock from sight alone. Her dragon, Number 92: Heart Earth, or rather the string demon, Manipulator of souls that revived it, jerked its head upwards with strings as the dragon unleashed a heart rumbling grumble, sending Ruby and her team into a state of shock, their own skins turning almost as pale as the witch before them.
"Now my pet, send these foolish mortals to the shadow realm." Salem ordered, her demon monster cackling as it twiddled its needle like fingers, making the demonic dragon's blood red teeth glow as it charged up a massive red lightning ball.
Yang grinded her teeth in frustration. She had worked so hard to rid the field of heart Earth this duel at the cost of their Aura and Xyz Monsters this creep banished, only to have Salem one up them by reviving it instantly. Not only that, they only have 400 Aura left against this monsters 12,000, but if this monsters attack hit, they would take the damage instead due to that string demon's special ability, Heart Earths ability would be used to damage them. And with her dragon's power at 5000 they'd lose instantly.
"N-No way! I activate Red Nova Dragon's special ability! By removing it from play I can stop this attack." Yang yelled, her dragon vanishing in a stream of fire.
"Great partner! Now I activate Session Draw! Now once Ruby's turn starts, she can draw twice instead of once, and if they happen to be both monster cards with the same level she can XYZ summon!" Blake said with a snicker.
"Nice one!" Weiss cheered and Ruby and Yang nodded.
"That's if she gets a next turn." Salem snickered, making RWBY shiver. They didn't like where this was going.
"I activate the trap Chaos Void! Now since you stopped my attack I can return Red nova to your deck and play a chaos spell directly from my deck! I activate Rank-Up Magic Quick Chaos to rank up my String Demon into a Chaos Number!" Salem yelled with an arrogant smile, shocking the girls.
"What!" Ruby cried out.
"No My dragon!" Yang yelled in shock as it returned to her duel disk.
"I overlay rank 2 Manipulator of Souls!" Salem yelled, her demon becoming a mass of pure purple and black energy with Heart Earth Dragon, flying into an Overlay Portal. "And this one monster I rebuild the Overlay network, go CHAOS XYZ EVOLUTION. Appear Chaos Number 43: High Manipulator of Chaos!" Salem yelled as a Red leech-like demon with 4 arms with razor sharp claws appeared, but with 0 ATK.
"Pff! Please, compared to Red Nova that things nothing but a Knat for us to squish!" Ruby scoffed.
"Ruby careful. It has to have a special ability if its that weak." Weiss warned her partner. Her overconfidence tended to be an issue.
"Indeed, one that will squish you little brats. By using 1 Chaos Overlay Unit, it gains a token equal to your teams Aura." Salem explained with venom in her tone. Manipulator of Chaos then whipped at Team RWBY with its red strings to their painful horror. It pulled back, stealing energy from their very souls as it formed 4 puppets, each looking just like the girls with 400 ATK.
"No! If it attacks now where ruined!" Blake cried, noticing they had nothing, no spells traps or monsters on the field or in their hand.
"And even if by some miracle you did have something to block this direct attack, my Chaos Numbers special ability would just add the damage it takes to my puppets ATK instead of damaging me. You've lost." Salem coldly said as the puppets lunged at RWBY who gave off looks of despair as they approached.
"How could we have failed?" They all thought as they plopped to their knees in despair. Ruby crying as she painfully winced. Yang wanted to hug her, to give some fake assurance all would be okay, but couldn't bring herself to speak. She hadn't the strength to lie or do anything anymore as she felt all her efforts were waisted.
"GAH!" Yang yelled in frustration as she pounded on the ground furiously. Despite her screams of rage, she could hear something, a faint whisper.
"So this is how your all gonna lose?" A boys voice echoed.
"Oscar?" They all whispered. Turned out it wasn't just Yang.
Right in front of them they saw the boy, one of the many friends who died in this war, spirits standing before them with a stern gaze.
"Come on. Don't make our efforts wasted." He sternly said. Soon more of their friends and loved ones spirits appeared, Qrow, Ozpin, Winter, JNPR, all of Remnants lost duelists.
"How?" Ruby whispered.
"We all fell to get you those Numbers. Our spirits are apart of those you've collected. So naturally we can fight beside you. And fight we shall." Oscar said as he and the others pointed to Yang's duel disk, which began to glow.
"What the!?" She yelled in shock as she reached into her Extra deck slot, pulling out a glowing card that she felt radiated power in her finger tips.
"Enjoy your gift, Sunny dragon. Only right a dragon master use it." Qrow snickered as he and the others spirits faded. Yang and the others wept as they did so.
"Qrow. Oscar. Everyone….WE WON'T LET THEM BE WASTED!" Yang roared, her sister and teammates helping her to her feet as they glared at the demon puppets approaching them, their master Salem looking on bewildered.
"What is that power I sense? How are you doing that? Is it the Creator of Light?" Salem, the puppet of Zorc wondered in fright. That light was her only weakness after all. When Yang shook her head in denial, Salem actually sighed, but winced as she saw a smirk appear on Team RWBY.
"Nope." Ruby denied.
"IT'S NUMBER 100 NUMERON DRAGON!" Yang cried out as her team and her held up the card, sending their aura into it as a massive Golden Xiao Long dragon emerged in defense mode with 0 DEF.
"When you attacked us with no cards in play or in our hands we got to summon it and drain your puppets of ATK. Read and Weep Salem!" Weiss hollered as the dragon screeched, repelling the demon puppets and dropping their score to 0.
"And the strawberry on top is that since it doesn't have any points no one takes any damage so TEAM RWBY and their fearless leader live to fight another round.
Salem stood in shock as her puppet failed. Soon rage filling her body to replace it. How dare they mock her!? How dare they stop her when she was so close to getting those numbers and the Numeron Code for her to rule alongside Zorc.
"Fine! You bought yourselves 1 more turn. I place one card face down and end my turn." Salem whined a bit as she set a card. Ruby gripped her hand as she did so, feeling a surge of energy not just from Numeron Dragon and her friends who summoned it, but within herself as she felt confident, she knew she had the chance she needed to win right now.
"It's the moment of truth girls." Ruby said firmly as she clasped the top two cards of her deck, radiating a faint glow. "Ready?" Ruby asked and they nodded.
"Get her sis!" Yang yelled.
"With pleasure. Destiny Shining DRAW!'" Ruby hollered as she drew the glowing cards. She looked at them and smirked, getting just what she wanted.
"HERE'S SHINING WEAPON ULTIMATE SHIELD!" Ruby yelled as a massive glowing gold turtle like shield appeared.
"Which means now it's special ability revives all the XYZ monsters we had banished thanks to your Heart Earth Dragon in Defense mode!" Ruby explained.
"Impossible." Salem grumbled.
"See for yourself then witch!" Yang yelled back, her team radiating a golden glow with her hair.
"Return Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray!" Weiss hollered as her monster returned.
"You too Cat Magician!" Blake added as her cat returned.
Ruby then radiated a red aura as she grinded her teeth in a mix of rage and excitement, feeling her beast return coming, her eyes glowing a mix of red and silver light.
"Welcome back to the duel Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!" Ruby yelled as her dragon returned in defense mode.
"I'm not impressed. You brought them back to be an army of worthless shields?" Salem scoffed.
"No way! I now activate the spell, XYZ Treasure. So since there are 5 Xyz Monsters on the field, I get 5 new cards!" Ruby yelled as she drew. She sighed in relief as she got what she needed.
"Now I equip Ultimate Shield to Weiss's Utopia Ray, raising its DEF points by 2000! Then I can play XYZ Unity! This switches it to ATK mode and gives it ATK equal to the ATK of all my other XYZ monsters DEF." Ruby explains as Utopia Ray gets energy from the other XYZ monsters zapped into it, raising it's ATK to 7300.
"So what? My monster still won't take damage." Salem counters.
"Oh I know. That's why by discarding a card I can play trap booster to play the trap Utopia Rising! This becomes an Overlay Unit for Utopia Ray and lets it use another Xyz monsters ability as if it were it's own. By using it Utopia Ray gains Numeron Dragon's ability to gain 1000 ATK per rank on the field. The 5 XYZ Monsters have a total rank of 20, so that gives Utopia a total of 27,300 ATK points." Ruby declares.
"And she's not done with you yet, by removing my trap Breakthrough skill during our turn, your Manipulator isn't pulling the strings anymore because it loses it's special abilities this turn." Blake adds.
"You dare!?" Salem hollers as her demon wriggles in agony as it loses its power, its puppet being cut from its strings.
"Now go! Utopia Ray, destroy Manipulator of Chaos and win this duel!" Ruby hollers as her swordsman sumons a glowing gold blade that was once black and lunges for Salem's monsters.
Salem's once pale face reddened with rage as she fumed. This was the last insult.
"I activate the trap Chaos Shadow Fog to stop this attack!" Salem yells in defiance, her hand nearly ripping the card in half as she angrily applied great force on her skull themed duel disk. A dark fog envelops Utopia Ray, ceasing its glow.
"I activate the spell Double or Nothing from my hand. Since you stopped our monsters attack, this spell allows it to attack again, only this time its strength is doubled." Ruby adds, her knights attack doubling to 54,6000. "Strike her down!" Weiss adds.
Black veins of stress and anger press against Salem's temple, the left side of her face glowing a dark miasma as her red eye glows. Her teeth become jagged as Zorc's influence becomes more prevalent. He was feeding her more power, or rather drawing from her rage to strengthen his host.
"We won't lose! Chaos Shadow Fog has another effect! By sending it to the graveyard I can grant Manipulator of Chaos Heart Earth Dragon's special abilities this turn!" Salem and Zorc roar in unison to WBY's shock.
"Oh no. If we attack now Utopia Ray will damage us." Blake whispered in shock, believing this to be the end.
"No way. We can't have lost after all that!" Weiss cried, absolutely mortified at the prospect as she envisioned her fallen family, eyeing her in disproval.
"WIPE THEM OUT MY PET!" Salem roars as manipulator of Chaos shoots a pair of strings into a portal and summons Heart earth again, the dragon charging up a ball of red plasma it aims at Utopia.
"Ruby!" Yang yelled in fright, more concerned for her sisters life than hers, but she paused her attempt to hug her as she saw a smirk grow on Ruby's face, her eyes glowing a soft golden light.
"You just lost." Ruby and Holactie the creator of light her eyes drew strength from said in unison.
"WHAT!?" Salem and Zorc yelled in shock, sensing their rival deities presence and hearing that baffling declaration.
"Ultimate Shield has a second special ability too! Ultimate Shield not only stops that damage but those points get transferred over to Utopia Ray's ATK points this round." They declared as Heart Earth blasts Utopia Ray's glowing sword, which begins to double in size to WBY's joy and Salem and Zorc's horror. "And there's more!" Ruby and Holactie declared, drawing a cold sweat from the demons, their once pitch black skin turning ghost white in fear.
"Heart Earth Dragon's ability will be canceled! YOU LOSE!" They roar in unison as her warriors ATK doubles to 109,200.
"109,200!" Salem hollers in fright.
"GO RUBY!" WBY yelled in support, drowning out Salem's cries of shock.
"GO! UTOPIA RAY! RISING SUN ULTIMATE SLASH!" Ruby and Holactie yell with a fist pump as Utopia Ray bisects Heart Earth and Manipulator, as well as Salem and Zorc as their aura drops to 0.
Victory…or is it?
Time seemed to pause as RWBY stood on in silence, watching as their enemy, the immortal witch and demon monster lord Zorc fell before them. Light shined onto the battlefield, No blood or smell of it infested the air, as if the heavens refused to deny team RWBY the satisfaction of their victory.
"We…We won?" Yang whispered in surprise. The normally loud and boisterous brawler being in silent shock was an even greater surprise for her teammates than all the close calls in this duel, especially as her words sunk in.
"We won! We beat Salem!" Blake cried, wrapping Yang and Weiss heads around her arms as she grew giddier than ever. She didn't care she was tired, she just wanted this moment to last. Turns out she wasn't the only one.
"*Sniffle*" Weiss
"Weiss?" Yang asked cautiously, noticing her sadness.
"I'm fine im just…so happy its over. Mom…Winter, Jaune and everyone…They can rest now." Weiss said mournfully with a tragic smile.
"We'll bring them back Weiss. Once we get the num- Huh?" Yang began to assure her sobbing friend before suddenly their duel disks began glowing, glowing cards propelling out of them slowly towards Ruby, who stood before Salem and Zorcs split body.
"It's over now. I'm going to purge this world of your demons and use the numeron code to undo all the damage, all the deaths of my friends you caused, thanks to these numbers my friends and you so thoughtfully provided." Ruby said, her eyes still not ceasing their golden glow.
WBY stood behind her, smiling proudly as she declared that. Ruby was a descendent of the Creator of Light. What else would she use such power for.
Unfortunately, Salem and Zorc had a nasty idea as they smirked, their bodies radiating a faint red and purple miasma to everyone's shock. Soon red glowing cards leaped out of them and surrounded Ruby. It was Salem's number cards, they were blood red because RWBY could finally smell it, the stench of blood from all the people Salem and Zorc slaughtered for them, their friends and Cinder's crew included. It made them want to hurl, but no more than Ruby as she felt a wicked burn erupt from her stomach as the cards all converged into her body.
"Then they'll come back without you around then!" The two roared as they turned into pure energy and shot into Ruby's eyes as she screamed in pain.
"RUBY!" WBY yelled in frightful concern, but were blown back by a strong black gust of wind as a black wall of wind circled around their leader. Soon a ball of light shined within it before flickering out.
As the tornado soon settled, Ruby was hunched over, hacking as she began to take long raspy breaths.
"Ruby? Are you-" Yang sheepishly began to ask, fear for her sister more powerful than ever, especially as a hand shot out, cutting her off with another blast of nasty smelling dark wind.
"No. I'm not." She said coldly. WBY flinched as they heard this, never having considered Ruby would speak with such venom. "But thanks for the concern sis!" Ruby than sprung her body upward with joy, making the girls ever more confused.
It was quite a strange mood swing.
"Rubes…what happened to you?" Yang asked her sister wearily.
Ruby smiled, before her lips twitched as she slowly opened her eyes, the mere action looking painful as veins pressed to her temple. To WBY's horror, Ruby had 2 different sets of glowing eyes, 1 gold and 1 darkish red, both illuminating faintly enough not to cover her irises.
"I guess Salem had the last laugh after all." Ruby sarcastically said.
"Fight her Partner! You-" Weiss yelled as she sprang towards Ruby, only to be blown away again by that wind, crashing into Blake and Yang.
"Be more concerned for yourselves now…Because you'll need to be to survive!" Ruby said coldly, before a tear ran down her face as a tragic smile erupted.
"Girls. I now hold all the number cards. I can feel the numeron code. I can find it and end all this." Ruby said, her legs trembling as she resisted the urge to leave, knowing what was at stake.
"Then use it like you said you would!" Blake yelled.
"I can't…I may want too but I can't." Ruby said shakily.
"Why not? Isn't that what we planned for?" Yang asked her sister dumbfounded.
"I also have…Holactie and Zorcs powers now." Ruby said as her body began to have some stripes of purple wrap around her skin, her hair turning from reddish black to half blonde as her body emitted a red and gold miasma that briefly suffocated WBY before relaxing them, their cuts and bruises healing to their shock.
"I have obtained…the power of chaos. Light, shadows, I have both infected within me. I can't act as my own anymore. 1 deity wants to plunge us into darkness, the other wants that darkness eradicated. The numeron code can do either." Ruby explained to her horrified teammates.
"Then use it instead to purge yourself! Stop them!" Weiss ordered with care in her tone, but Ruby shook her head.
"I can't. Its not one will within my soul its three….really 4 now with Salem too. If I try to use the Numeron code now with all this chaotic light and dark feelings within me, do you know what will happen?" Ruby asked.
Her team's lips were almost glued closed. They didn't even want to think about the horrific answer that their minds kept imagining, each idea worse than the next.
"Well…I'll tell you. I'll erase and restart all of reality!" Ruby said with a shiver before cackling a bit painfully, grabbing her shoulders as she did so, fighting the urge.
"No way." Yang whispered in shock, before her eyes reddened with rage. "GET OUTTA MY SISTER!" Yang ordered the deities and Salem within Ruby, but she just laughed, making Yang growl in rage.
"There too strong. I can't fight them all. There even keeping me from saying where the Numeron code is. I need them to be weakened." Ruby shuddered after laughing again.
"How do we help you Ruby!" Blake asked concerned.
Ruby drew out her right arm, a ball of gold and purple light erupting from her left hand that she flung onto her right, creating a curved blade duel disk, the zones a gold and white layer while the deck slot and edges of the disk were black and red.
"You duel me, and knock them out so I can tell you. Then….you use the code to get rid of me" Ruby declared, her eyes narrowing as she said so. WBY felt their spines freeze as she did so.
"W-WHY!?" Yang asked, the mere notion of destroying her sister being completely ludicrous as it was frightening.
"As long as either deity exists, this will just keep happening. I am a descendent of Holactie, if I exist she will too. We can't risk the planet like this anymore. So please…if you win, use the code to wipe us all out and restore Remnant." Ruby pleaded.
WBY's bodies soon shakily drew their hands to their waists, their eyes widening as they realized what they were doing.
"C-Can we do that? Can we duel Ruby?" Weiss asked them in fright.
Yang and Blake just stood in silent shock, unsure if they could. On one hand, they wanted to spare Ruby of her agony, that chaotic light and dark power polluting her body clearly taking its toll as she growled or laughed maniacally at random intervals. But the more they thought about it, the more the notion scared them. End their own friend and sister?
Ruby, realizing they would not come to a conclusion on their own, sensing their own chaotic turmoil within, decided to take matters into her own hands. Shooting out her arm, she sent a wave of dark energy at the girls wrists.
"Ruby!?" Yang asked her sister in shock before her hand was yanked, forced to grab her duel disk and attach it to her arm along with the others.
"I'm sorry…but the pain is too much. I need you to win, I need this to end." Ruby begged as she activated their disks.
With that, WBY winced as they painfully closed their eyes, tears shedding as they made their decision hearing that plea.
"Okay…but we're going to save you Ruby! We'll get the Numeron code and save you…just you!" Yang roared in defiance as she slammed her deck into the duel disk deck slot.
Ruby just smiled softly, shaking her head as she heard her sisters defiance. She always was defiant. "Those two…they're being helps make up the code. It can't work without them. I need them gone after the worlds fixed or this will happen again. But she'll never fight hard if she thinks otherwise." Ruby thought as she put her deck into her disk.
"First a few ground rules then, since I still want a fun match!" Ruby said shakily. WBY nodded in agreement, still wanting a fair match if they wished to prove to Ruby their resolve was superior.
"We all get 4000 Aura, but I'll go first and my extra deck has no limit." Ruby declared.
WBY shuddered as they heard this.
"She has all the numbers, which means…" Blake whispered.
"Expect a one woman army." Weiss answered in her place, gulping as she did so.
"If Ruby wasn't going to try and nuke herself I'd actually be proud." Yang said as she gripped her hands.
"One more thing, if I do win, I'll also use the Numeron code to wipe your memories of me, so you won't mourn. Do you accept then?" Ruby asked and WBY recoiled in shock, gaps filling the air.
"N-No way! That's totally unacceptable SI-" Yang roared in defiance and Blake and Weiss nodded, until they doubled back as they saw Ruby's lips quiver, her eyes watering, simply mouth a "please".
WBY soon slumped as they felt their dread return in full force. They just couldn't deny her that.
"Okay…but we're gonna kick your ass and save you so there's no need to mourn!" Yang yelled in defiance and her team nodded.
"THEN LETS DUEL!" Ruby roared as she drew her first card, a massive earthquake erupting as she did so nearly knocking WBY off their feet. They could sense her power, it was massive. Was this the power of chaos?
Soon WBY would find their answer, the blink of an eye not only did Ruby summon a number, Number 39: Utopia, but soon a shadowy aura and wrapped around a glowing gold card in Ruby's hand, making them shudder as they sensed the danger appearing, Blake's ears perking up as her instincts to run kicked in.
"I activate CHAOS PLANET!" Ruby declared, soon the world began shaking as red lightning shot out from the world as a red and gold glow filled the sky, healing the land as it was scorched before more lightning began striking it in an endless loop.
"RUBY! What are you doing!" Weiss asked her in disgust.
"That's chaos, its destructive or helpful. And the world will do the same for me or you. Chaos Planet allows me make full use of its power, because now we can only special summon light or dark monsters." Ruby explained.
"But then that means!" Blake yelled in shock as she stared at Yang trembling. Her Red deck was made of mostly fire monsters. She was lockdown.
"Damn it Rubes." Yang groaned.
"I don't want to do it Yang, but they'll make me plunge you into the shadow realm, with this. I'll activate Rank-Down-Magic dark fall to devolve Utopia using the shadows. "Ruby said as her warrior of light was consumed by a shadowy fog to WBY's disgust. "Go XYZ DE-Evolution! Appear Number 96: Dark Mist!" Ruby yelled as a blob of black sludge with jagged teeth formed razer sharp claws and arms and a mouth with flaming eyebrows.
"Cinder's monster? How could you use that?" Weiss asked her partner, remembering how much that monster hurt their friends.
"That's chaos Weissy. It stinks…then it rocks!" Ruby said disdainfully then cheerfully. "And I'll rock this world, this chaos world as I activate Rank Up Magic quick chaos to rank it up into Chaos NUMBER 96: Dark Storm and use Chaos Planets other ability. Now I can use 4 Chaos Overlay Units to summon a number, then rank it up into its evolved form." Ruby explained to WBY's shock.
"4 Chaos NUMBERS!? In one turn!?" Yang asked in shock and Weiss nodded.
"Told you…she's now a one woman army." Weiss groaned.
"No, she may be a god now." Blake shuddered.
"Damn right Kitty. Now first up is Number Heraldry Crest! Then go CHAOS XYZ EVOLUTION!" Ruby declares as she summons first a black demon that evolves into a golden crown like monster with 4000 ATK.
"She summoned a monster with 4000 ATK on her first turn?" Blake said in shock and Yang nodded.
"And she's not done yet." Yang warned.
"Quite Right. Next is Chaos Number 88: Gimmick Puppet Disaster Leo!" Ruby yelled as a golden lion statue emitting red energy from its vein emerged after a silhouette of lion puppet swordsman flies into a void. "Followed by Chaos Number 96 Heart Earth Chaos Dragon!" Soon Heart Earth flies into the red and gold colored sky, re-emerging as a purple, red and black demonic dragon wrapped in bone white armor platting. "And finally…" Ruby whispered, making WBY groan as they knew what was coming. The final number.
"Arise Anew Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray Victory!" Ruby declared as Utopia emerged from the graveyard soon glowing bright gold as Red lightning struck it, soon growing a pair of red arms that held golden swords.
WBY stood in awe at the army of Chaos Numbers before them, each radiating a devastating aura that made them sweat nervously.
"How do we stop all of them?" Weiss whispered in doubt.
"You can't. Not after Disaster Leo uses one overlay unit. This lets it deal one of you 4000 points of damage!" Ruby declares to WBY's shock.
"4000!?" Blake asks in shock and Ruby nods.
"One of us is about to lose." Yang shudders at the realization.
"But who?" Weiss almost wished she didn't ask, her curiosity getting the best of her.
"Oh kitty kitty kitty!" Ruby sang. Yang and Weiss's eyes widening as they drew their frightened gazes to the cat Faunus stood frozen in terror as the Lion puppet began charging a fireball after eating an overlay unit.
"No…Blake!" Yang cried in shock.
"Don't play with fire unless your Yang…you'll get burned kitty. FEROCIOUS FIRESTORM!" Ruby darkly said with a cackle as a stream of gold fire blasted at Blake who grinded her teeth as she sensed its heat, its power aimed at her.
"If I lose this duel….RUBY'S THE ONE LOST!" Blake thought with fright.

Featured Duel: Team RWBY VS Salem
Duel is conducted under Yugioh Zexal anime format. An undisclosed number of turns have passed. Salem controls Number 43: Manipulator of Souls equipped with Number 92: Heart-Earth Dragon (Rank 2/0 ATK) with no overlay units and has 12000 Aura.

She CXYZ summons Number C43: High Manipulator of Chaos (Rank 3: 0 ATK). She then uses 1 Chaos Overlay unit to activate its effect via Quick Chaos's effect. Ruby draws, she then draws again via Blake's Session Draw, she performs a shining draw to get SW- Ultimate Shield. She then normal summons it in defense mode (Level 4/2000 DEF).
Ultimate shields effect now activates, special summoning in Defense mode all of Team RWBY'S Xyz Monsters that are banished. Ruby summons Blake's Cat Girl Magician (Rank 4, ATK 2000, DEF 1800), her own Neo Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon (Rank 8 4500 ATK, 3000 DEF) and Weiss's Number C39: Utopia Ray (2500 ATK, 2000 DEF).
Ruby then equips Ultimate shield to Utopia Ray via it's effect, increasing it's def by 2000 (Utopia Ray 2000 – 4000 DEF). Ruby then activates the spell XYZ treasure to draw a card for every XYZ monster on the field (5). She then activates the spell XYZ Unity and equips it to Utopia Ray and switch it to ATK mode then to increase its ATK by the DEF of all DEF position XYZ monsters on Ruby's field (Utopia Ray 2500 – 5500- 7300 ATK). Ruby then activates the Trap Booster to discard a card from her hand to play traps as Quick Play spells this turn. She plays Utopia Rising to equip it to Utopia as an Overlay Unit and let it use the effects of any of her XYZ monsters this turn as if Utopia Ray's own ability. She detaches 1 Overlay unit to use Numeron Dragon's ability to have Utopia Ray gain 1000 ATK for every rank on the field (20) (Utopia Ray 7300 – 27,300 ATK).
Utopia Ray attacks Manipulator of Chaos but Salem reveals Manipulator cannot be destroyed and the damage will be converted over into ATK points, but Blake activates her trap Breakthrough Skill from the graveyard to banish it and negate Chaos's effect.
Salem plays the trap Chaos Shadow Fog, which negates this attack. Ruby activates the spell Double or Nothing which Doubles Utopia Ray's ATK and lets it attack again since it's attack was negated (Ray 27,300 – 54,600 ATK).
Salem sends Chaos Shadow Fog to the graveyard to activate its second effect, letting her banish Heart Earth Dragon since she controls a Chaos Number to grant Manipulator of Chaos it's effect.
The battle continues and Salem attempts to inflict to Team RWBY battle damage she would have taken but during damage calculation Ultimate Shields effect negates that damage and instead adds that damage as ATK for Utopia Ray (Utopia Ray ATK 54,600 – 109,200 ATK)

Featured Duel 2: Ruby Rose vs WBY
The duel is conducted with a mix of Yugioh Arc V and Zexal rules. Ruby and each member of WBY get 4000 Aura. Each player draws on their first turn. The turn order is Ruby, Yang, Blake, and Weiss then back to Ruby. In addition, Ruby is allowed to have an unlimited extra deck as a special rule.
Turn 1: Ruby Rose
Ruby draws, then plays Card Destruction, forcing all players to discard their hands then redraw cards equal to the amount they discarded. She performs a Shining Draw. Since Eclipse Wyvern was sent to the graveyard, Ruby can banish a level 7 or 8 dark or light monster from her deck. She banishes Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning. Since White Dragon Wyvern Buster was sent as well, she can add Black Dragon Collarserpent to her hand too.
Blake activates Lunalight's Emerald Bird and Kaleidoscope's effects since they were discarded, allowing her to special summon Lunalight Tiger from her grave in defense mode (Star 4/Pendulum scale 5, 800 DEF) and add Polymerization back to her hand from the graveyard.
Ruby banishes Eclipse Wyvern from her graveyard to special summon Black Dragon Collarserpent (Level 4/1800 ATK). Since Wyvern was Banished Ruby adds Black Luster Soldier back to her hand via its effect. She then banishes White Dragon to special summon another copy of Black Dragon. She then plays the spell Trade-In to discard her level 8 Black luster soldier to draw 2 cards. She performs a Chaos Draw. She then Overlays level 4 Serpents to Xyz Summon Number 39: Utopia (Rank 4/2500 ATK).
Ruby then plays the field spell Chaos Planet. Now only Light and Dark attribute monsters can be Special Summoned and all of Ruby's CXYZ and Chaos Numbers cannot be destroyed by Card Effects and once per turn she can select the attack target if her opponents attack.
Ruby plays the spell Rank-Down-Magic Dark Fall to use Utopia as material to XYZ a Dark Xyz monster with a lower rank and attach its Xyz Materials and this card to it as Overlay Units. She summons Number 96: Dark Mist (Rank 2: 100 ATK, OU 4).
Ruby activates Rank-Up-Magic Quick Chaos to use Dark Mist as material to summon a Chaos Number that's 1 rank higher. She Xyz Summons Number c96: Dark Storm (Rank 3: ATK 1000 OU 5).
Ruby then activates the final effect of Chaos Planet, letting her detach an Chaos Overlay Unit from a CXYZ or Chaos Number to summon a Number from her extra deck or graveyard ignorning its summoning conditions and rank it up by 1 into a Chaos Number or CXYZ.
