Just a warning there is mention of abuse and rape in this chapter if this offends or upsets you I apologise but it is part of a characters back story and I felt the need to explain some of her character flaws, no details are mentioned but just be aware of this if you are sensitive to his subject.
Also a note to readers if you are suffering with any of the problems that I mention in this story and you are not sure what to do always know you have options and you do not have to suffer in silence. "We will see" Anna smirked
Ashlyn pulled her car in to the bowlarama car park and stopped next to the familiar pink car,
"Looks like all your mates are here" Ashlyn smiled looking across at her sister who was starting to look nervous
"I know maybe this new look wasn't the best idea" Anna groaned looking out the window at the pink car and the group of motorcycles next to it
"what are you on about you look fabulous and you should be proud of it love, any guy would be off his rocker not to be interested in you in your normal clothes but dressed like that baby you are going to knock there socks off" Ashlyn smirked opening the car door and stepping out
"Thanks Ash but I still feel a little nervous" Anna sighed stepping out of the car and looking over at her sister who was leaning against the car lighting a cigarette
"Thought you was gonna give them up" Anna smirked walking around to meet her sister on the other side of the car
"Yeah I have done a few times but I just love it" Ashlyn grinned
"Well hurry up will ya it's getting cold out here" Anna pouted playfully
"Oh shut up go in if you want to" Ashlyn smirked as she finished the end of the cigarette
"And don't you think the entrance will be made better with the two of us walking in" Anna grinned looking over her sister
"Yeah I suppose it will so are we ready?" Ashlyn winked at her younger sister and moved towards the door
"And remember attitude" Ashlyn whispered as she pulled the door open for her sister to walk through
The two sisters walked in to the main entrance with their heads held high and smiling, Ashlyn smirked as she noticed the new looks her sister was getting this should help pull her out of this post Johnny funk
"Do you wanna Bowl or do you wanna just hang out?" Anna asked as they walked towards the main desk
"Am not putting on those shoes" Ashlyn moaned looking at the rental shoes
"I should of known" Anna giggled and pulled her sister towards the arcade games
"Hey Anna, Ash"
The two sisters turned to the voice behind them to find Sandy and Frenchy rushing towards them
"Hey French, Sandy" Ashlyn and Anna answered in synch
"Oh stop that you know how much it creeps us all out" Sandy frowned as she stopped in front of them
"Sorry" they both answered again and then smirked
"Oh you two, Anna you look amazing" Frenchy smiled at the younger sister
"Thanks French just felt like a change tonight" Anna grinned
"Oh and it has nothing to do with a certain young T-bird coming with a certain over-bearing blonde" Sandy grinned
"I don't know what you're on about" Anna blushed
"Sure you don't" Frenchy smirked
"Oh shut up" Anna groaned turning to head towards the food counter
"Oh great she is going to be grumpy all night now, I am going to need a drink" Ashlyn smiled and headed towards the bar
Ashlyn sat down on the nearest empty stool waiting to be served, watching her sister from across the bar who seemed to be cheering up with Sandy, Frenchy and now Marty all sitting around her.
Ashlyn heard a small cough in front of her and turned to look at the bar tender "I'll have…erm what's that?"
"It's a Cubra libre miss" The bartender smiled
"Well that's my favourite drink but I didn't order this" Ash smiled looking down at the drink and back up to the bartender
"Well I know that miss that gentleman at the end of the bar did" the bartender smiled nodding in that direction
"Oh well tell him thanks from me then please" Ashlyn smiled and took the drink
"Ok miss" the bartender moved away and headed towards the mysterious gentleman, Ashlyn's eyes scanned the area the barman stopped at but she couldn't see who he was talking to
"Oh well" she sighed and started to drink the drink gladly while watching her friends sitting in the food area
"You know talking to yourself is a sign of madness"
Ashlyn's eyes widened as she heard him speak behind her, she placed her drink down slowly and gathered herself before turning around
"well I must be mad then mustn't I, I mean I have proof I thought me and you were friends once" Ashlyn frowned looking up at the tall dark haired man in front of her, her heart pounding in her chest and she was fighting to breath normally.
"Oh now that's a bit of an understatement don't you think?" his crooked smile making her heart jump about even more in her chest
"What do you want Kenickie?" Ashlyn fought to keep her face neutral as she spoke for fear she might jump up and wrap her arms around him
"Oh just spotted you here alone and thought you might want to catch up" He smiled at her again, his eyes dragging up and down her body
"Please don't" Ashlyn sighed feeling shivers all over her skin from the way he looked at her
"Don't what" Kenickie grinned moving closer to her so that he was almost stood against her legs which were crossed on the stool
"Look at me like that and talk to me like this" Ashlyn whispered as he moved in closer to her again
"Sorry Ash" Kenickie sighed moving back a little "It's just nice to see you"
"yeah I understand love but things are not going to be that way anymore" Ashlyn sighed relaxing a little as he backed away a little and sat on the stool next to her
"Look ash am sorry about the last time I saw you" Kenickie mumbled
"What do you mean?" Ashlyn smiled slightly at the tall man sat next to her
"Well shouting at that guy you was with and then hitting you, I just want you to know I never meant to hit you and I hate myself for it and for what I did to you I mean you were always nice to me even when I didn't deserve it and what do I do I shout at you and then hit you in the face" Kenickie stopped rambling when he felt a finger lightly touch his lips, he looked up stunned at Ashlyn who was smiling slightly at him
Ashlyn let her finger trace the curve of his lip for a second, enjoying the small thrill that came with contact with him.
"Shush its ok I know you didn't mean it and you were drunk love I forgave you the next day but you had disappeared so I never got to tell you" Ashlyn smiled brightly as his face lit up a little
"You shouldn't forgive me at all after everything I did to you" Kenickie whispered leaning in to her hand which was now resting on his cheek, his own hand cradling it to his face
"oh like I was a saint, Kenickie I learned a long time ago doesn't matter how much you like or love someone sometimes things just are not meant to work out" Ashlyn felt herself drowning all over again in his dark brown eyes
"What do you mean?" Kenickie looked at her with a puzzled expression, her eyes soft but with something buried underneath them
"well before I moved here I had a boyfriend in Liverpool, we were going to get married, my dad and his dad worked together and had been friends since they were kids. At first we were friends as children but then as we became teenagers he started to show more of an interest in me and well I have to admit he seemed to change in my eyes as well. It all started off fine we would do the usual dating rituals you know go to the pictures and go to dances, he would take me to school and bring me home, he would come to Sunday dinner and he always seemed the perfect boyfriend. Then something changed I don't know if it was me or if it was him but something caused him to change and suddenly every boy that came near me I was having an affair with, he would call me a whore and ask me if I had slept with other men. He would force me in to sleeping with him when we were alone and if I annoyed him enough he would find ways to hide bruises on my body. The thing is I could have told everyone what he was doing and I could have stopped him myself but I loved him and I started to believe it was my fault" Ashlyn sighed and looked down at her lap, her hand grasped around her drink
"So you're saying that fucker raped you and hit you and you thought it was your fault?" Kenickie growled his hands turning to fists
"you have to understand, he was all I knew, he was the first boy I had ever gone out with and the first boy I loved and I didn't think it was unusual to be with someone who treated you like that" Ashlyn frowned and reached forward to the angry man's hands that where shaking with anger, she placed her hands gently on the top to help calm him down
"How could you think that was normal?" Kenickie frowned grabbing hold of her hand
"I just did and besides he learnt his lesson" Ashlyn smiled "I had been to school one day and my friend had come in and told me about this woman who used to work in the corner shop apparently she had been living with her boyfriend in sin as my mother would of said and he had been doing the things to her that Jack had been doing to me, well this one night they had been fighting and he had accused her of having an affair with his brother because his brother had been in their house after he saw some bruises on Amy's arms. Well Amy had tried to fight back this night because she had enough of what he was doing to her and in the end he had killed her. As soon as I heard that he had beat her to death I knew that was not going to be me and that I was not going to let that happen so I went home that night and I made sure that the next time I saw him I was going to be around other people"
Ashlyn paused and took a long drink of her Cubre libre, she lifted her glass to the bartender who nodded and started to make her up another
Kenickie sat watching her stunned by her honesty and openness, it was something that he knew she didn't do often so he knew he better listen to everything she said carefully
"So I made sure that when we met it would seem like we were alone but we wouldn't be alone for long, I knew from my mother that both my dad and his dad would be coming back to his house for a drink at around 4 in the afternoon so I made sure we were there, I knew that if I started mentioning one of my friends who was a boy that he would start and sure enough he did and unfortunately for him I decided to scream that day and my dad heard me and came running in to find him sat on top of me hitting my side and pulling my dress up to try and well you know"
"What happened with your dad then?" Kenickie watched her carefully as she took another big sip of her drink
"oh my dad and his beat him up for what he had done to me and what he was trying to do, they asked me if I wanted to call the police and I said no because well they don't believe you do they so I just asked that they make sure he stayed away from me. I mean of course he tried a few times to apologise and convince me he loved me and that he needed me but I just told him to leave me alone. So you see it doesn't always matter how much you love or like someone sometimes it can be that you love someone to much" Ashlyn smiled softly
"You really think he loved you when he treated you like that?" Kenickie growled
"Yeah I do because through all his faults I know he did love me because I could see it in his face when he looked at me, it might not be the type of love that everyone dreams off but it was love. Sometimes love consumes you instead of being wonderful and happy and that's what happened to him" Ashlyn shrugged
"Why didn't you tell me about it?" Kenickie watched her face carefully
Ashlyn's eyes snapped up to his, the last time she heard him say those words they were to another woman that he thought he had got pregnant
"What's it to ya?" Ashlyn frowned
"Well I could have done something" Kenickie frowned back
"No thanks you did enough" Ashlyn smirked knowing he didn't realise that they were having the same conversation that had ruined the chance of them ever being together
"Guess you're glad you don't see him then?" Kenickie smiled slightly at her trying to lighten the mood
"Nope the opposite actually sometimes I miss him, which just goes to show how in love with him I was" Ashlyn shrugged turning away from him and placing her drink on the bar
"Do you still love him?" Kenickie watched as she stood up and straightened her outfit, the black cropped trousers hugging her legs and hips perfectly, her red top being pulled in at the waist by a large black belt, she was wearing flat black pumps which shocked him a little as she stood in front of him as he was used to seeing her in high heels, she seemed tiny as he stood up in front of her.
"I don't think so, I think there will always be a part of me that loves him somewhere inside but its more the memory of loving him then actually still doing so and besides I gave my heart away to someone else and that hasn't worked out well either so I guess I am just going to have to take a break from love" Ashlyn sighed looking up at his face, she had never noticed how tall he was before especially now that she didn't have her heels to add height to her small frame
"Did he love you back?" Kenickie watched her hopefully
"I don't know" Ashlyn looked thoughtful for a second and then reached out and grabbed his hand
"I better go and see were Anna got to and am sure you have a girlfriend somewhere that needs your attention so how about we call this a night and I'll see you around" Ashlyn smiled and turned to leave quickly
"I don't have a girlfriend or anywhere to be" Kenickie called after her, her body freezing for a second to turn back to him with a puzzled expression on her face
"What happened to you and Rizzo?" Ashlyn moved forwards towards him again watching his face carefully
"She cheated on me with some idiot who rides with Balmudo" Kenickie shrugged
"Oh right" Ashlyn frowned "what about the baby?"
"There was no baby she wasn't pregnant" Kenickie shrugged but Ashlyn could see a sadness fill his eyes that she had never seen there before
"Do you mean she lost it or it was a mistake?" Ashlyn stood watching the tall man in front of her carefully, his hair pulled in to the same style as always, his relaxed stance still full of swagger, his T-bird jacket still showing off his broad shoulders, his tight blue jeans hanging just right on his hips and his white T-shirt clinging to his muscled chest and chiselled stomach
"she said it was a false alarm, that's when you saw me at the carnival with her she had just told me that she wasn't going to have a baby and that I wasn't going to turn in to a dead beat dad like mine was so I don't know I guess I got a bit to in to the moment and kissed her" Kenickie looked down sadly at the small woman in front of him, her expression unreadable
"Am sorry to hear that it was a false alarm, I thought you wanted to be a dad?" Ashlyn smiled softly
"I do want to be a dad but I think I would rather have my children with a woman I love not a woman I was infatuated with for a while and who used me when she had nothing else better" Kenickie searched her eyes in hope that he may see some of the emotion he used to see there when she looked at him
"Yeah I guess your right" Ashlyn smiled looking down slightly "so do you want to come sit with the girls then?"
"looks like it isn't just the girls anymore and I think maybe we should go there if only to stop them from staring at us like we are monkeys in the zoo" Kenickie winked looking over her head at the table of their old friends who were sitting watching the exchange between the two with interest
Ashlyn turned to look at her friends who all turned away quickly and started talking all as a loud group to hide the fact that they had all been spying
"Oh god it's like being back in school" Ashlyn mumbled looking up at him with a grin
"Yeah you're right so let's give them something to talk about" Kenickie smirked moving forwards towards her
"What are you doing?" Ashlyn whispered stunned by his sudden close proximity
"Just giving them some gossip" He smirked again leaning closer to her face within inches of each other
"I don't think we need to encourage them" Ashlyn smiled a warm feeling filling her chest like it used to when she first met him
"Yeah I know but it's fun aint it" Kenickie winked at her, his eyes locked on hers with an intense burning that she felt her cheeks start to blush
"Maybe we should just go and sit down with them" Ashlyn mumbled trying to catch her breath as she felt his hand brush against hers and the heat from his chest radiating around her
"If that's what you want Ash" he whispered, his eyes filling with lust as she felt her blush deepen on her cheeks
"yes it is now will you behave yourself" Ashlyn smirked and pulled away from his looming figure slightly before turning and grabbing her drink and swallowing the remainder whole before grabbing her bag and turning to leave the bar area
"So you coming or what?" Ashlyn giggled slightly at his stunned expression watching her
"Yeah" Kenickie grinned widely almost in a predatory fashion as he followed her towards the table where all their old friends were sitting, she could feel his eyes watching her as she walked and she couldn't help but put a little more sway in her hips as she headed towards the table with a grin on her lips
"Hey guys" Ashlyn called as she reached the table
Everyone turned to smile or greet the leader of the pink ladies but quickly went back to their conversations, Ash squeezed on to a bench with Anna and Marty as she watched her friends around her
"So what was that?" Anna asked looking her sister over and then glancing to the tall T-bird who was now sitting amongst the other men but his eyes where still trained on Ashlyn like she might disappear
"I don't know it was a bit weird" Ashlyn mumbled back
"Well what happened?" Marty asked looking her friend over as she saw the confusion in her face
"well we started off just talking and the next thing I decided to tell him about jack and well it all went a little bit weird from then on" Ashlyn frowned
"Who is Jack?" Marty asked confused
"Jack was Ash's boyfriend when we lived in Liverpool but he wasn't very good to her but as she has told the story once today I am guessing she doesn't want to hear it again so I'll tell you all about it later if you like but my question there is why on earth did you bring up him?" Anna frowned at her sister knowing how painful it was for her to talk about Jack
"I don't know we were talking and he was saying how sorry he was and I don't know I made a comment about how not everyone is meant to work out and he asked me what I meant and I just ended up telling him all about it" Ashlyn shrugged trying to keep her sister calm
"So what else happened?" Marty smiled trying to lighten the mood
"Well he told me that Rizzo had never been pregnant and that she had cheated on him so they aint together any more" Ashlyn smiled slightly at her over excited friend
"So does that mean" Marty squealed excitedly
"Shush" Anna grabbed Marty's arm and pulled her towards her trying to make sure she stayed quiet as a couple of the group had turned to her sudden loud outburst confused by her excitement
Ashlyn glanced up at Kenickie who was smirking at her, he obviously could tell what the girls were talking about and new why Marty had become excited, she looked down quickly smiling at her sister who was now whispering to Marty about keeping it quiet
"anyway I don't know what it means Mart, am still involved with Noah and who knows if Kenickie would want to have anything to do with me now so I guess we will just have to wait and see" Ashlyn sighed picking a menu to look at the food
"Well from the way he is looking at you right now I would say that is a yes" Marty giggled before moving over to sit with Sonny
"What are you going to do about Noah?" Anna whispered to her sister
"oh tonight is not the night to worry about my love life tonight is the night we fix yours my love and to answer your question I don't know I guess we will just have to wait and see" Ashlyn smiled and grabbed her sisters hand to pull her towards the food counter
"Now tell me dear sister where be your friends tonight?" Ashlyn smiled looking down over the bowling alley
"There" Anna pointed looking at Johnny hugging Paulette tightly to him
"right well come on then time to put on your big girl pants because we are going over there and we are going to make sure that boy notices just what he is missing out on" Ashlyn smiled grabbing her sisters hand again
"Ash I don't know I mean I feel like a fool dressed up to try and get him when he obviously doesn't want me" Anna moaned watching Johnny who was showing off in front of the girls
"Baby the thing about men is they don't know that they want you until you make it hard enough for them to not want you" Ashlyn grinned
"What do you mean?" Anna frowned at her sister
"Look when I like a guy and I don't know if he likes me what do I do? I make sure that he sees what I have to offer, I dress up and play it cool, I make sure to run in to him as often as possible and I make it a point to get to know him" Ashlyn explained
"I still don't get it"
"well the thing about men is often they are very simple and when it comes to women they are the simplest creatures on the earth, they always want what they can't have, if they can have it they don't see it and they take what's given to them free" Ashlyn grinned "and that there with your boy is the free, Stephanie is the cant have and you are the unseen but don't worry baby girl because we are going to make sure he sees you and all the perfection that you are"
"Ash what if it doesn't work" Anna looked to her sister worried
"When have my plans ever failed?" Ashlyn smiled back
"Never really" Anna smiled slightly
"exactly, this is going to be hard work and effort but I bet by the end of this year he will be eating out of the palm of your hand" Ashlyn smiled brightly tugging on her sisters hand heading towards the younger group of T-birds and pink ladies
"Attention" Ashlyn yelled as they got close mimicking a sergeant major
The group in front of her jumped and turned around quickly however not all of them had seen who they were talking to
"Who do you think you are shouting at us like that don't you know who we…" Paulette yelled as she turned in Johnny's arms
Ashlyn's eyes flared at the younger girl, her face crumpling slightly in anger
"Yes Paulette Rebchuck I know exactly who you are, question is do you know who I am?" Ashlyn growled
"Yes sorry Ash I didn't know it was you" Paulette mumbled looking down away from the intense stare of the older girl
"And it should not matter who I was, do you kiss your mother with that mouth? Or do you keep that privilege for Johnny here?" Ashlyn smirked
"I didn't realise that it was you I would never have shouted if I had known" Paulette tried again to apologise
"you're really not understanding me regardless of who I am and what I mean to this group you should not be acting that way in any circumstances, if it had not been me and I had been someone else who happened to make a noise and startle you all what would you have done then? Caused a fight or made a scene? That is not the pink ladies I accepted when I gave you your jackets and that is not the type of people I want in this group, please make sure that this doesn't happen again because I am happy to remove that jacket from you and let's see how often the young Mr Nogorelli wishes to stick his tongue in your mouth then?" Ashlyn smirked
"Ash that's enough" Anna grinned at her sister
"Anyway that put a side I just came to see how you all are" Ashlyn smiled sweetly at them all
"Fine thanks Ash" Rhonda grinned at the older girl and smiled brightly when she caught Anna's eye
"Anna, Ash may I just say you two are looking smoking tonight" Goose grinned looking over to his girlfriend who didn't seem to mind his compliment to her friends
"Oh thank you" the two girls said in synch turning to smile brightly at the tall T-bird, Ashlyn couldn't help but see the comparisons between Goose and Kenickie, her smile widening as her thoughts drifted to the older of the two
"We are just about to start another game do you guys want to play?" Johnny asked his eyes never leaving Anna, her normal flowing dresses and casual pastels look had been replaced by a darker sexier one and he couldn't keep his eyes of her. She was wearing a dark blue pair of tight jeans which fit her figure to perfection, her tiny waist showed off by a large black belt that was pulling in her halter-neck pink top that showed off her breasts and flat stomach perfectly
"Oh no thanks we just wanted to say hi" Anna smiled sweetly, trying to hide the faint blush she felt from the boy's attention she seemed to be getting
"Well you are definitely a welcome distraction" Davey smirked looking at Anna with a wink and then glancing at Johnny
"Well thank you Davey" Anna's eyes widened in a stunned expression but smiled when she spotted him shake his head a little
"Well kids me and Anna here are gonna head back over to the others but we might see you later I guess" Ashlyn smirked at Johnny's expression and frowned when she noticed Paulette staring at her sister
"Yeah see you all later" Anna called as her and Ashlyn headed back towards the others
"Did you see his face" Anna grinned looking at her older sister
"Yes love I did and now the next step is to always keep him guessing" Ashlyn smiled
"What do you mean?"
"well love don't rely on the clothes thing, change your style go back to your dresses and then back to this and even go in-between, this has just become a war between you and that airhead back there but the problem is she has her claws in a him a little and we have to make sure that doesn't distract him from you" Ashlyn glanced around at the groups that seemed to have quietened down a little now
"Your right will you help me with picking stuff out for tomorrow" Anna sighed her face filled with a dreamy hope
"of course I will but right now you entertain yourself because I am going to go hide outside for a cheeky cigarette" Ashlyn smirked before turning and heading towards the door way
"Where's your sister going?" Marty looked up as Anna sat down
"oh for a cigarette but am going to guess it's also to see who may be outside" Anna grinned looking around the group which had spread out a little more and there was no sign of a certain second in command T-bird
"I think you may be right" Marty giggled as the two girls sat talking about what had happened with Johnny
Ashlyn walked over to her car and sat down on the hood, pulling her collar up around her neck to stop some of the cold, she looked around and smiled looking at all the young couples she spotted most of which she remembered from Rydel but others where younger and could be just holding hands for the first time
Ashlyn reached in to her pocket and pulled out her cigarettes and lighter, taking one out of the packet and lighting it before leaning back to look up at the stars
"You know something tells me you might have been looking for me" a deep voice said beside her
"What you an astronaut now?" Ashlyn grinned without looking towards the voice
"Well I was thinking angel but either works for me" he grinned moving to sit on the hood with her
"You an Angel" Ashlyn giggled taking a drag on her cigarette
"Why wouldn't I be" He grinned turning to look at her
"Well for starters you're not exactly well known for being a good boy now are you?" Ashlyn smirked and turned to look at him
"Well love you aint so good yourself" his brown eyes sparkling at her
"Yeah I know but I am not the one wishing to become and angel" Ashlyn smirked
"You already are an angel" Kenickie grinned looking over her face as she smiled back at him
"I am far from an angel love" Ashlyn groaned sitting up and moving to the edge of the hood
"Well you seem more than perfect to me and isn't that what angels are perfect?" Kenickie smiled moving closer to her
"How am I perfect?" Ashlyn groaned turning away from him a little
"How are you not? You have a hot body, a great laugh, a funny sense of humour, your kind and sensitive but tough and mean when needed you have the most amazing smile and the most beautiful eyes and sometimes I think I have imagined you because there is no way on this earth a girl like you would ever be interested in a guy like me" Kenickie sighed as he watched her turn back to him, her eyes stunned
"How can you think so much of me?" Ashlyn frowned looking at him puzzled
"How can anyone who has ever met you not?" Kenickie grinned, reaching out and cupping her cheek with his palm, her smooth skin sliding against his rough palm
"Kenickie please don't" Ashlyn sighed looking up at him with sad eyes
"What's wrong love?" Kenickie stared at her puzzled
"things are still as complicated as when you left, I have a boyfriend and he is lovely and great and I am still trying to get over the hurt that was left between me and you, you hurt me a lot Kenickie and I need time to get over that and decide what I want, I am not asking you to wait for me but if the time comes when I know what I want is you I hope you will still want me" Ashlyn turned her face slightly and kissed the palm of his hand before lowering it away with hers
"I know I did a lot of stupid stuff but I have changed Ash, I can be a better man for you and I can do all the things you need, I was an idiot for not treating you right and for ever going after her and for everything but I know what I want, what I always wanted and that is you" Kenickie smiled down at the smaller girl
"well am flattered love and I know your sorry but I still need time so please just let me sort this out because either I have to tell you that I want to be with Noah or tell Noah that I want to be with you and I don't want to have either of those conversations without thinking it through properly so please just give me some time" Ashlyn smiled and jumped up from the hood of the car
"You know I won't stop trying right" Kenickie called as he started to follow her in to the door
"I wouldn't want it any other way" Ashlyn turned and smiled at him over her shoulder as they reached the main entrance and stopped when they saw the younger of the groups leaving the bowling alley
Ashlyn couldn't believe her eyes and ears when that little punk Johnny kissed Paulette and then tried to kiss Stephanie, she moved to go have it out with him for being so disrespectful but she was stopped by a pair of strong arms grabbing her from behind and holding her in place
"Wait a minute love let's see how this one plays out" Kenickie whispered in her ear
"But why" Ashlyn growled struggling against him
"because I know Steph's got more spunk then most people think and if I know her as well as I know you she is about to do something to get her own back" Kenickie grinned as they watched Steph grab the first guy to walk in which happened to be Michael
"Oh god this is going to cause a problem" Ashlyn stopped struggling and turned to look at the tall man behind her who was watching suddenly with interest at what was going on
"Who is that?" Kenickie whispered as the girls started to move past the hiding spot he had dragged them in to
"that is Sandy's cousin and according to French and Anna he has already shown an interest in Stephanie the thing is Johnny will never let him in the T-birds if he is after Steph because he thinks he needs to go back out with her to protect his reputation" Ashlyn frowned in thought
"But I thought he liked your sister" Kenickie looked down puzzled, a lot had changed since he went away
"Yeah he does but he won't admit it to her and she won't admit it to him and it's the whole big stupid mess and now this is going to add a whole new level to that game" Ashlyn moaned rubbing her head
"Where is Anna?" Ashlyn suddenly turned to look at Kenickie who shrugged at her
"I need to find her what if she saw she is going to be heartbroken" Ashlyn cried as she moved quickly out of the spot they were hidden in and heading in to the main hall to look for her sister
"Can you see her?" Ashlyn called looking around the crowd
"Nope but Marty and Frenchy are over there maybe they know" he grabbed her hand and pulled her through the crowd towards the two girls
"Ash we have been looking for you Anna is in the toilets and won't come out she's just sat there crying" Frenchy explained in a rush
"Who is with her" Ashlyn yelled and she hurried away towards the toilets
"Sandy" Frenchy called back as she rushed to go after Ashlyn and Kenickie who was being pulled through the crowd as Ashlyn still had hold of his hand
"Erm love I can't go in there" Kenickie smiled as he came to a sudden stop and she looked around confused
"Oh god sorry I didn't mean to drag you here" Ashlyn frowned looking at the door
"Go on I'll wait outside" Kenickie smiled and leaned against the wall
"Thanks" Ashlyn smiled up at him before turning and rushing in to the toilets
"Anna sweetie comes on" Sandy called in to the cubicle where Ashlyn could see Anna's knees under the cubicle door which meant she was sat on the floor crying
"Anna" Ashlyn called as she smiled at Sandy
"Ash" Anna called back
"Come on out"
"I can't I have never felt so humiliated in all my life and so horrid" Anna sobbed loudly
"oh come on love just open the door its only me and Sandy here and Kenickie is guarding the door he won't let anyone come in now open this door and talk to me" Ashlyn pleaded looking for signs her sister would open the door
After a minute or two with no response she tried again
"right Anna either you open this door or I will either break it down or climb over but either way I am getting in there to you so which do you want" Ashlyn grinned looking at the chances of either scenarios
"Ash you will only end up hurting yourself" Anna frowned
"Well get up off your arse and let me in or come out because either way I am going to get to you" Ashlyn grinned
The two girls waited for a minute while they heard Anna move around and eventually the door unlocked to see a red puffy tear stained Anna stood behind it
"Oh Anna" Ashlyn sighed holding her arms open for her baby sister
"Ash I was humiliated I was walking towards them to say goodnight because I spotted they were leaving and I wanted to speak to Rhonda and Davey and he…he" Anna tried to continue but sobs over took her body again
"Don't explain love I saw it all, I was on my way back in with Kenickie he stopped me and saw it all but you just let it all out" Ashlyn whispered as she rested her head on Anna's, her small frame shaking with sobs
"Ash I wanna go home" Anna cried in to her sister's shoulder
"alright love come on" Ashlyn turned her sister towards the sink and quickly splashed some cold water on her face to take some of the red and puffiness from her cheeks, she wiped of the tear stains with a wet paper towel and then let out Anna's hair from the high pony it had been in
"there you go not quiet new or perfect but close enough come on hang you're head a little as though your cross and your hair will hide most of your face" Ashlyn explained and grabbed her sisters hand giving it a squeeze and heading out of the door to find Kenickie and Danny stood outside
"She ok?" Kenickie whispered before Anna came out with Sandy in tow
"Yeah she will be fine she just wants to go home" Ashlyn explained heading towards the door grabbing the brown haired man's arm and pulling him with her
"If she is so ok why do you look like you want to murder someone?" Kenickie leant down to whisper in to the pink ladies ear
"I want to break his legs but I will settle for you having a nice word with him please about proper ways to treat women, I think it's something that you had to learn the hard way so you should know what it's like" Ashlyn growled
"Yeah I'll speak to him" Kenickie sighed, he had thought he was getting through to her but it seems as though there was still a lot of problems buried between them
"Sorry I didn't mean to shout at you love this isn't your fault am just so mad at that little Italian pip squeak" Ashlyn frowned looking up at the beautiful brown eyes she always got lost in
"Don't worry about it" He grinned his crooked smile down at her as they reached her car
"Will you drive my car back for me" Ashlyn smiled looking up at him
"What?" Kenickie looked stunned
"well I want to make sure she is ok and I want to sit in the back with her but Sandy is a terrible driver and Danny has his own car, unless you have a car with you or you have plans its ok if you do I will ask Sandy" Ashlyn rambled out quickly
"No I don't have my car Danny gave me a lift and its fine, pass me your keys" Kenickie grinned reaching his hand out towards her as she passed him her keys
"Anna come on love" Ashlyn called to Anna who was stood hugging Sandy over by their car
"Thanks for this Kenickie" Ashlyn smiled and helped her sister in to the back seat of her car
"How could he do this to me?" Anna looked up at her sister with eyes that Ashlyn hadn't seen since they were little girls, the lost I don't know what to do look that Anna used to use when she hurt herself
"Baby I told you, men are simple and when she was offering it out on a plate the way she is well he isn't likely to say no, problem is he also wants Steph back but that's only because he thinks its damaging to his rep that she dumped him. The thing is love you two are friends and I know he sees you enough to know that you are attractive just look at the way he looked at you tonight but you need to make him see that you are the right girl for him" Ashlyn smiled softly, reaching over and picking up the cup of tea she had made for Anna and passing it to her to urge her to drink it
"I don't want him to see me that way if he behaves like that" Anna sobbed taking the tea from her sister
"I know you saw something bad tonight love but the thing is people do bad things but that doesn't mean that they are bad people it just means that they don't think things through or that they make mistakes, look at Kenickie and me, we like each other but it looks like we are not meant to be because we always make mistakes or there are complications in our lives but that doesn't say anything about us as people just that sometimes we do stupid things" Ashlyn grinned as she picked up her own tea
"how can you be so calm around him, he hurt you way more then Johnny did me and yet you seem to have forgiven him how is that?" Anna frowned "I just want to strangle Johnny and punch him repeatedly in the chest to make him feel the way I do right now"
"well that is not a good way to do things believe me but I know how you feel, when I first saw Kenickie with Rizzo I felt like I was drowning and my lungs were filling with water and my heart was shattering and there was a pounding in my head so large I thought I was about to die but I didn't die in fact I came back stronger and think that's what you need to do with this" Ashlyn reached out to her sister and gently wiped a rolling tear of her cheek
"How do I do that" Anna sighed
"well love let it all out tonight and tomorrow it won't feel so bad am not saying you will feel great but after a goodnights sleep and a good breakfast in the morning you will be able to face him and deal with it and I know you, you will worry and panic thinking that you can't do that but I know that you can because you are a tough girl and nothing breaks this family" Ashlyn smiled grabbing the cup from Anna's hand and motioning for her to lie down in her bed
"Thanks Ash, you always know just what to say and how to make me feel better" Anna smiled slightly
"Don't you worry about it, have good night's sleep and the world will seem ok again tomorrow, Goodnight god bless sweet dreams" Ashlyn smiled as she kissed the top of her sisters head and pulled the blankets over her
"Is she ok?" Kenickie asked as soon as Ashlyn walked back in to the kitchen, her face tired and her body drooping a little
"Yeah she is fine" Ashlyn sighed as she placed the teacups down on the counter and moved towards the fridge
"You look tired babe" Kenickie watched her move around the kitchen
"I am its just hard to watch her like that you know" Ashlyn shrugged opening the fridge and starting to move stuff around
"I get that, what are you doing?" Kenickie sighed thinking how he felt when he would see Ashlyn upset
"well am starving and I was checking to see if there was stuff in tomorrow to do her a special breakfast because she is going in to shop and she will see him so I don't want her to go without eating properly" Ashlyn turned around with a large box in her hands
"what you got in there then?" Kenickie smiled looking at the small girl
"Cake, Anna calls it Ashlyn sponge" she giggled opening the top of the cake box
"What is an Ashlyn sponge?" Kenickie frowned
"well in England we have a cake called a Victoria sponge I still don't know if you have it here but it's just a plain sponge cake with jam and cream in the middle but they often use strawberry and I am really allergic to strawberries so I changed mine to a chocolate mixture I made once by accident and since then it stuck so do you want some?" Ashlyn smiled as she pulled the cake out of the box ready to cut it up
"yeah sure" Kenickie smiled
"is that a Ashlyn sponge"
Ashlyn and Kenickie turned to the door way to see Aaron walking in with another man behind him
"yes do you want some" Ashlyn smiled at her big brother
"oh yeah I do" Aaron grinned and sat down on a stool
"do you want some Joe?" Ashlyn smiled at the tall dark haired man
"yes please Ash and hello by the way" He grinned leaning over and kissing her on the cheek
Kenickie felt a flare of anger roll through him watching another boy go near Ash, he knew he had to control himself or she would never forgive him
"So what do we owe the honour of cake at this time of a night you normally tell me off for it" Aaron smirked grabbing his plate from his sister eagerly
"well Anna was upset about a boy and it took a while to calm her down and I just needed it so shut up and enjoy it will you" Ashlyn smiled sitting down next to Kenickie and then covering her face with her hands in embarrassment
"Oh god sorry I didn't introduce you to anyone, Aaron, Joe this is Kenickie, Kenickie this is my brother Aaron and his band Joe" Ashlyn smiled pointing between the three men
"its ok Ash stop worrying about playing proper hostess" Aaron grinned tucking in to his cake
"nice to meet you man, ignore him" Joe snickered holding his hand out across the table towards Kenickie
"yeah you to" Kenickie grinned as Aaron glanced up with a scowl before carrying on eating
"so what caused our dear baby sister to be upset then?" Aaron asked as soon as he had finished his cake
"a boy" Ashlyn frowned
"do I want to know?"
"no you don't and don't ask her about it just leave it to me" Ashlyn rolled her eyes
"you do know I am the oldest here right I am meant to take care of you" Aaron grinned looking his sister over as her eyes widened in shock at his statement
"Oh please you couldn't look after a flea" Ashlyn giggled
"That's nice and my own sister as well" Aaron frowned playfully before getting up from his stool
"Well am going to go to bed" Aaron stretched, headed around to the sink with his and joes plate, placing a kiss on Ashlyn's cheek as he passed by
"Goodnight" Aaron called as he headed up the hall way
"Goodnight" Ashlyn yelled after him "you staying Joe?" her eyes falling on the tired looking man in front of her
"Yeah but don't worry I know where the room is and everything, Night Ash" Joe got up and headed off after his friend
"Night Joe" Ashlyn smiled and turned to look at the tall dark haired man sitting next to her
"you're welcome to stay as well if you like, not that you have to and I don't mean it in a funny way I mean no funny business will happen just its late and you don't have a car and you look tired" Ashlyn rambled trying to recover herself
"as long as you don't mind" Kenickie shrugged trying to play it off cool but really his heart just hit super speed the minute she smiled at him and asked
"no I don't mind I mean its my fault you drove us home anyway so it's the least I could do is offer you some where to stay" Ashlyn smiled
"great well lead the way" Kenickie smiled and got up placing the dishes in the sink and watching Ashlyn get up unsteadily from her stool with tiredness
"what are you doing?" Ashlyn squealed quietly as she felt his strong arms lift her off the ground and carry her bridal style towards the stairs
"You were dead on your feet and am ok for now so I figured I would help" He grinned whispering
"Just take me to my room please" Ashlyn mumbled
"I thought you would never ask" Kenickie smiled crookedly and opened the door to her bedroom
"Oh stop it and put me down" Ashlyn blushed
"Sure thing" Kenickie smiled as he placed her on her bed
"Right now there are loads of spare rooms go find one" Ashlyn smiled and went to stand up from the bed
"I think I like this one" Kenickie smirked as he watched her slide her pumps off and start taking her hair down in front of her mirror
"Cheeky" Ashlyn smiled at him in the mirror as she shook out her hair
Kenickie sat down on her bed as she moved to go in to the bathroom, she figured by the time she came out he would be in another room
She stood brushing her teeth her heart fluttering at the thought of him being so close to her and being able to see him in the morning, she smiled to herself as she changed in to her pyjamas thinking of him going to another room and maybe lying in bed thinking of her as well.
Yawning she walked in to her room and stopped spotting him lying in her bed with the cover around him, his clothes folded on her chair and his boots at the end of the bed. She watched him for a moment before realising he was asleep, she frowned and headed towards the bed, her intention was to wake him and make him leave but as soon as she saw his face, looking peaceful and rested she sighed and decided to leave him there.
She sat on the edge of the bed and turned off the lights before swinging her legs up on the bed and lying down trying to get comfortable without disturbing the beautiful man beside her.
As she turned to her side she felt him move towards her, his stomach pressing up against her back and his arm gently laying across her side, she smiled to herself as she drifted off in to a gentle sleep
