"Where have you been Kenickie?" Anna yelled as she moved to stand toe to toe with the taller man
"Well aren't we feeling feisty today" Kenickie smirked as he looked down at the small raven haired girl, her hazel eyes flashing at him with anger
"Don't you patronize me, do you have any idea what you have done, how sad she has been, do you even care how she feels?" Anna's voice was getting louder and more high pitch the more she shouted her accent thickening and her anger rising more and more as she let it all flow at the tall man in front of her
"I know I have some explaining to do but don't you think I should do it to her first before anyone else" Kenickie sighed as he rubbed his hand over the back of his neck, he knew this was going to be tough but he didn't think he would get such a hard time of Anna although he really should of expected, if there was one thing that could set off the calmer of the two sisters it would be protecting the other sister
"She is going to kill you when she sees you" Anna sighed as she looked up at him, his face tired and wary
"Well that's why I was kind of hoping to see you first" Kenickie smiled as he started walking towards the car park with Anna at his side looking at him curiously
"Oh yeah and why is that?" Anna asked her eyes watching him carefully like he might disappear if she didn't keep an eye on him
"because you will be able to talk to her and help me to convince her to just hear me out, I know I messed up a lot before and I know I messed up again but I just I need to talk to her and explain" Kenickie frowned as he thought about how he was going to explain disappearing for a month and a half
"Great put me in the middle why don't you" Anna moaned as she looked over to the gym changing rooms where her bag and clothes had been left
"Look I don't expect you to defend me just help me, get her to speak to me" Kenickie sighed as he opened his car door and sat down in the front seat
"Look wait there, I'll be back in a minute" Anna sighed as she rushed in to the Gym changing rooms and to her locker were Steph was stood waiting with Rhonda
"What's up Anna you look a little frazzled" Rhonda exclaimed as she looked over her best friend
"You would not believe what's just happened to me" Anna cried as she started pulling out her clothes to get changed quickly
"What?" Rhonda cried as she looked at Steph with a worried expression and then back to Anna who was fighting with her gym skirt
"Well first off as I left you Steph I was sort of attacked my Balmudo who dragged me to the over flow car park but you know the quiet bit that never has any one there and well pretty much tried to threaten me in to going out with him and when I said no he tried to be all aggressive well guess who turns up to my rescue" Anna frowned as she pulled her top over her head and looked at the two girls while quickly fluffing her hair
"Oh my god who was it?" Rhonda gasped; Anna could always count on Rhonda for a bit of drama queen
"Kenickie" Anna sighed as she looked to Steph
"He turned up, here now?" Steph cried out stunned by the tall man's sudden reappearance
"Am I missing something here?" Rhonda frowned as she looked between the two girls suddenly confused by the conversation
"look it's a long story and I can't get in to it now because well he is waiting outside to go and talk to Ash and well I think I owe it to her to be sooner rather than later so am going to skip last lesson, tell Mr Spears I had a doctor's appointment or something will you" Anna pleaded as she looked between the two girls
"Yeah of course but what do you think is going to happen I mean she went to that place today" Steph whispered her face showing the worry for the older girl
"I know but whatever the outcome there he needs to know that as well so I guess I better get going before someone sees me leave with him" Anna huffs out quickly as she grabs her bag and stuffs her stuff in to it without looking how it's being placed
"Right well let us know how everything goes" Steph sighed as she watched her friend start to walk out the room
"Yeah I'll see you later Steph" Anna called back "bye Rhonda and don't worry Steph here can explain everything when am gone"
"What is going on here" Rhonda cried as the two girls heard the door shut on the changing rooms,
"well it's a long story but the basic is that Ashlyn and Kenickie finally got together sort off and well they you know and then he did a disappearing act and well Ash might be you know, so she was kind of hurt that he hasn't been in touch and well it's all a big thing" Steph smiled slightly as she looked over at Rhonda's stunned face
"So Ash might be" Rhonda whispered as she motioned with her hands to a round bulge at her stomach
"yeah she might be but we just need to keep it between ourselves for now because if this gets out its going to be world war three when Ash finds out" Steph sighed grabbing her bag and linking her arm through Rhonda's to pull her to class
"Yeah I guess geez I hope she's ok"
"Ashlyn are you home?" Anna called as she walked through the back door
"yeah am in here" Ashlyn's voice sounded muffled and weird as Anna approached the living room, her heart in her mouth as to what was about to happen
"Ash are you ok?" Anna whispered as she walked in to the quiet living room, her sister sat on the floor in front of the fire though it wasn't lit
"Yeah I guess am fine" Ashlyn sighed as she ran her hands through her hair "did you have a good day at school"
"you will not believe my day but never mind that I can tell you later what happened at the you know" Anna's eyes traced every inch of her sisters face, there was something different and she could tell Ashlyn was trying to be strong again but something was there and she needed to know
"Well I went and they did the tests and well it looks like you were right" Ashlyn whispered her face seemed to revert back to one of shock as she said the words out loud
"so you are" Anna gasped a little, she knew that it was likely because her sister didn't get sick and there was no way she missed her monthly so there had to be something and it looks like this was the something
"Yes Anna, I am pregnant" Ashlyn cried as she ran her hands through her hair again, a nervous trait she had always had
"Your what" A male voice called from behind the two girls, who turned quickly to see not only Kenickie but Aaron and Michael all stood in the door way
"This was you wasn't it, I'll kill ya" Aaron roared as he grabbed Kenickie by the jacket and thrust him up against the wall
"Aaron stop it" Ashlyn yelled as her and Anna jumped to their feet to help Michael who was trying to separate the two boys
"Ashlyn how could you be so stupid" Aaron turned shouting at his younger sister
"I wasn't stupid, it was the first time and it was a mistake we used protection I guess it just didn't work" Ashlyn cried back her body suddenly feeling very heavy and her legs starting to give way
"Aaron stop shouting it's not going to do anything is it, look ok Ash is pregnant but we can get through this we always do now Aaron go outside and find something to destroy while you calm down, Kenickie help her to the sofa and me and Michael are going to go and make some tea" Anna yelled loudly to make sure everyone knew she was serious and not to be argued with
"Sorry you had to see all that" Anna whispered as her and Michael stood in the kitchen, the kettle bubbling along happily while the two prepared he cups and teapot
"don't worry about it, I mean I turned up out of the blue in the hopes you would be able to help me with my bike today and well I guess I got a bit more then I bargained for" Michael smiled softly as he looked at the small girl in front of him
"You won't tell anyone will you, not even your aunt and uncle and especially not Sandy or Danny just yet" Anna cried out suddenly realising how everyone will look at her sister when they find out she is pregnant
"Of course not" Michael smiled brightly, he liked the two sisters and he knew he would never be a part of anything that would hurt them. They had always been nice to him since he arrived and had always been good friends with his cousin
"Thanks Mikey" Anna smirked as she watched him turn a little pink at his nickname
"Do you think it's safe to go in there yet?" Michael asked as he looked down the hall way toward the quiet room where they had left the newly discovered parents
"I think we should wait for a little while longer" Anna sighed as she felt her nerves creep back in to her body worrying about her sister
"Where have you been?" Ashlyn whispered as she sat down on the sofa, her body tired and her head about to explode with everything that was going on
"I got another job at a garage but it's in another town and I know I should of called or something but to be honest I didn't know what to say to you" Kenickie frowned as he looked down away from her gaze
"Why didn't you know what to say? You could have just told me" Ashlyn frowned as she turned her eyes away from him
"Look Ash I have never said I love you to another person before and that night with you and the next day seemed so perfect that I just kept waiting for something to go wrong and well when I got offered these extra shifts I thought yeah why not but it wasn't until I got there that I realised that I was just running away like a big girl, I mean I should be happy about what happened between us in fact I should be screaming it from the roofs but instead I ran and hid but I came back to make it right and I know I said that last time but I mean it Ash I will do anything to make things perfect between us" Kenickie sighed his eyes tracing her small figure
"What are we going to do?" Ashlyn sobbed suddenly as her shoulder began to droop down in her chair
"Oh baby" Kenickie whispered as he moved close to her on the sofa and pulled her on to his lap, his rough hands rubbing over her back and her legs in a comforting manner
"I've missed you so much" Ashlyn whispered back her head buried in to the crook of his neck
"I missed you too baby, now I think we need to talk about what we need to do next" Kenickie smiled gently as he lifted her face towards him
"What do you mean?" Ashlyn frowned as she pulled herself on to the sofa while Kenickie moved to stand in front of her
"well I think we need to be quick about this decision and to be fair I would of done it eventually but given that we are about to become a family I think I better speed it up so…" Kenickie continued as he knelt down in front of a still crying Ashlyn her eyes wide as she took in what he said and the way he moved in front of her
"Ashlyn Plunkett will you marry me?" his rough hands reaching out and grabbing her small soft hands in his
"Kenickie are you serious?" Her small voice whispered as she looked down at him, her eyes filled with tears but her mouth was starting to turn up to a smile
"of course I am, look I know I was a jerk and I messed up a lot but I want to be with you and if you are carrying my baby I am going to make sure he has two parents and not just one like me" Kenickie grinned his eyes shining with excitement
"How do you know it will be a he?" Ashlyn smirked
"He, she, it, doesn't matter I will love that baby as much as I love its mama even if it has three heads and a limp" Kenickie laughed loudly
"Well then in answer to your question yes" Ashlyn smiled brightly as he stood up pulling her with him and hugging her tightly to his large body
"Well you two appear to have made up" Anna smiled as she entered the room Michael trailing behind cautiously carrying the tea tray
"Yeah and guess what" Ashlyn smiled at her sister
"What?" Anna frowned worried there was going to be more news today that she might not be able to handle
"We are getting married" Ashlyn giggled as she hugged the large man at her side tightly
"You are?" Anna exclaimed suddenly very happy for her sister, if they could get married soon no one would know about the baby and everyone will think that it was born early so her sister won't be labelled by other people
"Yeah we…" Ashlyn started as a voice interrupted her
"Ashlyn I have been thinking and whether you two like it or not you are getting married, I mean this is America so in a few years if you're not happy get divorced but am telling you now you are doing this and…" Aaron stopped as he looked around the room at the small giggles and smiling faces
"What's wrong with this picture normally you two would have bitten my head off for something like this" Aaron looked around the room again suddenly confused by his sister quiet response
"Aaron he had already asked her and she had already said yes and well you're a little late" Anna explained smiling softly at her older brother
"I was, oh well still this is great news I mean don't get me wrong I wasn't thrilled about it at first but thinking about it, I can't imagine a better mother and am excited to be an uncle well to a kid ill actually see but am glad you two are working things out now don't worry about the wedding I will pay for it all I mean its traditional right so you two just be happy" Aaron smiled brightly as he looked at the two young adults in front of him
"Oh Aaron" Ashlyn smiled as she rushed forwards and wrapped her arms around the large man's waist shortly joined by Anna
"Wow you really are pregnant" Aaron smirked as he looked down at his small sister who has the biggest smile he had ever seen on her face beaming up at him
"Yeah I am" Ashlyn giggled
"Right well I think we should all have a cup of tea now don't you think" Michael suddenly spoke up as the others all turned to him suddenly remembering the other boy was there
"So Mickey how goes the essays for cash business?" Ashlyn smiled at the younger blonde, she did like Sandy's younger cousin but he could be a bit of a stiff upper lip wet blanket sometimes
"it's doing fine, I mean I would like to earn the money another way but I guess if it helps me with getting a cycle then I don't mind" Michael explained as he picked up his cup again and started to drink the Luke warm liquid inside
"What cycle are you after?" Kenickie asked suddenly interested in the snooty sounding boy
"I don't know really I just need to get one" Michael sighed, his head filled with images of him and Steph on his bike riding around town
"Right" Kenickie glanced to his left where his fiancée and mother of his baby was sitting beside him, a small smile gracing her lips as she listened to her sister and their friend talk about his reasons for needing a cycle
"well I think the best way to go would be to fix up your own, I mean we can help, there is nothing Anna can't teach you about a bike and Kenickie is a mechanic as well and although I am better with a car then a bike I could probably help a bit" Ashlyn smiled softly at the younger man
"Yeah bikes are easy and I know the place to go if you're going to build up your own" Anna grinned as she jumped up from the sofa and grabbed a pad and pencil before furiously scribbling something down and handing the paper over to Michael
"here you will have enough money by the end of next week right, well when you do go to that address and tell Mitch that Anna sent ya and explain what you want he will help you out" Anna explained as she dropped back down on the sofa
"Thanks Anna" Michael smiled at the smaller girl
"You're welcome, I go there all the time to get spare parts" Anna explained covering her mouth with her hand to hide he yawn
"well I better be going, thanks for letting me come over and for the advice and stuff, Anna I'll see you at school, and congratulations you two on everything" Michael smiled as he stood up and headed towards the door, Anna following behind him
"Do you want me to give you a lift?" Anna asked as she looked out at the darkening sky through the front door
"No its ok your tired and besides am fine to walk" Michael smiled as he headed off down the path
"Bye Anna"
"Bye Mike" Anna called after the retreating figure as she turned and headed back in to the living room
"You look tired baby girl" Ashlyn commented as she looked at her sister carefully
"Yeah I didn't sleep well last night and it's been a long day" Anna yawned again
"Right bath and bed for you then young lady" Ashlyn smiled as she stood up and grabbed her sister's hand and pulled her towards the door
"Ash I can do it myself" Anna moaned as she followed her sister in to her bathroom
"I know love but am only running the water and waiting here to make sure you don't nod off in the tub" Ashlyn explained as she began turning the taps and filling the bath, her arms reaching out to grab some bath products from the cupboard on the wall
"Anna" Ashlyn turned to look at her sister after the bath had finished running and her sister was starting to undress
"What's up?" Anna asked as she turned back to look at her sister who looked worried
"What if this doesn't work, what if he leaves again?" Ashlyn sighed as she sat down on the toilet next to the bath, her eyes dropping to the floor
"oh don't be silly, he loves you and anyone can see that and he just asked you to marry him and well let's face it if he tries to back out Aaron will kill him, he isn't going to go anywhere and this baby is going to be fine and loved and the luckiest baby in the world because it has you for a mum and I know I count myself lucky every day for you being mine" Anna smiled brightly at her older sister
"Thanks Anna I just worry but I know as long as you are around am going to be fine" Ashlyn smiled as she stood up from the toilet and walked to the door
"Are you going to be ok?" Ashlyn turned back as she stopped in the doorway, Anna stepping in to the warm water
"Yes Ash I am not going to fall asleep in the bath tub, just go and get some sleep yourself" Anna smiled at her sister trying to reassure her before watching her leave the room and getting all the way in to the water
"Well am glad that's sorted" Anna sighed as she picked up her sponge and started to wash her skin
"I figured you would be here" Kenickies voice spoke out from the door way as Ashlyn walked back in to her bedroom from her bathroom
"Yeah I just need to get some sleep" Ashlyn murmured as she walked towards her large bed, her body feeling exhausted and her brain even more so
"Do you want me to leave, I can go to my ma's" Kenickie asked suddenly aware that she might not have wanted him to stay
"its fine you can stay I just really need to sleep though" Ashlyn yawned as she pulled the covers up around her shoulders and settled in to the bed
Kenickie slipped in to the bed quietly as she started to breath heavy, he knew she normally didn't fall asleep that quickly so he gathered it must have been from exhaustion. He hated himself for what he had put this girl through and even more so now, the thought of lying next to her for the rest of his life caused a churning in his stomach that left him feeling warm and excited.
"Anna"
Anna rolled over in bed trying to block out the noise of her sisters voice, she knew she had to go to school but her bed was just far too warm and comfortable this morning
"Anna Plunkett you get out of that bed or so help me I will pour this cup of tea over your head" Ashlyn smirked as she watched her sister sit up quickly and pretend to be more awake then she was
"Ash pregnant you is so much meaner than normal you" Anna frowned as she rubbed sleep from her eyes
"Yes I suppose that is true but lazy Anna should be out of bed and becoming ready for school Anna" Ashlyn smiled as she put the tea down on the bedside table and walked back towards the door
"Fine look am up" Anna moaned as she swung her legs over the side of the bed and picked up the cup of tea in a dramatic gesture
"Very funny" Ashlyn smiled as she left the room and walked down the hall to her second stop this morning, her fiancé, she wasn't sure she could get used to saying or hearing it but that's what he was now
"Kenickie get up" Ashlyn called from the end of the bed
"Huh" Kenickie grumbled as he shifted around a little under the covers but not fully waking up
"Kenickie" Ashlyn tried again but this time moved to the side of the bed and shook his shoulder
"Let me sleep" Kenickie grumbled out again as he shifted away from her a little
"Get up you lazy arse before I kick you out of this bed" Ashlyn yelled her shakes on his shoulder becoming more vigorous
"Lazy arse?" Kenickie laughed as he grabbed her hand and pulled her down on to the bed, his other hand reaching for her waist and tickling her
"Yes now get up" Ashlyn giggled as she shoved at his shoulders so that she could get up off the bed again
"Depends soon to be wife what's in it for me?" Kenickie smirked as she straightened out her dress which she brushed over her stomach, making him smile as he thought of what she was carrying there
"hmm not getting beaten up my soon to be husband" Ashlyn smirked and moved to the end of the bed and before Kenickie realised what she was doing she had pulled the covers of the bed in one swift movement and had started to fold them up
"Hey, where on earth did you learn that you cruel woman" Kenickie frowned as he sat suddenly chilled without the covers
"trying to get Aaron, Alan and Anna out of bed for the past 12 years or so makes you learn a few tricks" Ashlyn smiled and headed out of the door with a sleepy and dishevelled looking Kenickie following her towards the kitchen.
"oh I see mornings aren't kind to you either" Anna giggled as the tall T-bird walked through the door and sat at the island in the middle of the kitchen, Ashlyn pushing a strong cup of coffee in front of him
"no they don't" he grumbled as he took in the smell of the coffee and watched as Ashlyn started to put out what looked like a large breakfast, he had no idea how he had gotten as lucky as he was but suddenly what seemed like his life was taking a turn for the worse without her has suddenly sprung back to being complete because of this woman.
"Anna" Ashlyn cried out suddenly
"whats the matter Ash" Anna replied quickly standing up from her chair and moving towards her sister
"finish putting this out I have something I need to do" Ashlyn whimpered as she headed towards the downstairs toilet
"is she ok?" Kenickie asked suddenly, his heart pounding in his chest as he watched her run away
"Yeah she's fine, morning sickness" Anna explained with a wave of her hand as she continued to put out the bacon and sausages that Ashlyn had prepared
"Does she get that a lot?" Kenickie asked, his ears tuned in to the muffled sound of his Fiancée retching in the bathroom
"Not all the time just some of the time" Anna shrugged as she placed the plates on the table,
"Guess I'll be taking you to school then huh kiddo?" Kenickie smiled as he started to tuck in to his breakfast feeling more awake from the coffee and food.
Anna looked up and smiled at the taller man, she had always liked him but seeing how happy he makes her sister and knowing he was soon to be family made her smile, if nothing else he would make Christmas more interesting.
"Steph" Anna called as she got in to the school hall way, the other pink ladies just ahead of her, she had spotted them entering the school as she got out of Kenickies car
"Hi Anna, how did everything go?" Steph turned and moved away from the other girls to talk to Anna quickly
"oh it went better than planned, they're engaged and are going to get married soon, and Ash is pregnant which explains the marriage thing and well Kenickie is thrilled at the thought of being a dad and well I am just so glad that things have gone well" Anna grinned at her friend
"Anna I am so thrilled for them, you must be so excited" Steph smiled brightly
"yeah I am, and am sorry but can you keep this between just me and you for now until they tell everyone I don't want it getting out" Anna smiled sadly knowing she didn't want Steph keeping secrets for her
"of course I will take it to the grave but I am so excited and Anna you know I will always be here to talk to if you want to, you know I know at first I seemed a little distant and cold towards you but it wasn't anything to do with you it was me, I was being a bitch at the time and well I guess what am saying is we are friends so don't worry about me telling anyone" Steph finished with a large sigh she didn't know she had been holding back
"don't worry about it Steph, I wasn't misses personality of the year then either, I was still getting used to being here and stuff so honestly don't worry about it" Anna grinned as the two girls moved to join the others at the locker
"Anna I heard Kenickies back in town I bet your Ash is thrilled" Paulette smirked as the dark haired girl turned to look at her
"Yeah she is, they talked everything through last night and well they seemed fine when I went to bed and they were sat listening to music and cuddled up on the sofa" Anna smiled, her eyes studying the mischievous look on Paulette's face
"that's just great, don't you think you should be finding yourself a boyfriend I mean it's got to be hard sitting watching them together and well you have been here nearly two years and you still haven't been on a date" Paulette smiled sweetly but Anna could hear something not right with her tone and there was a look in her eyes that said she was up to something
"Paulette, leave off ok if Anna wanted a boyfriend she could have any guy she wanted just because you fool around with everyone doesn't mean she has to" Steph snapped as she slammed her locker shut and grabbed Anna by the elbow and pulled her away from three very stunned looking pink ladies
"Steph you didn't need to do that" Anna stated as they walked towards home room and passed the T-birds who were stood near their lockers watching them walk past, probably hearing the conversation from before
"yes I did, since she started hanging around with Johnny she thinks she rules this place and that she can just talk to people how she likes and treat them how she wants well I am still leader of this group and your sister is the leader of the pink ladies in general and you deserve more respect than that, you have been a pink lady longer than any of us and really you should have been leader but you decided to let me have it, which I still don't understand but anyways she had no right to talk to you that way" Steph ranted on until they took their seats in home room
"I let you have it because Johnny was taking over for Danny and well you were with Johnny so it only made sense that you take the leader position, besides I was happy as I was and with being Ashlyn's sister I never needed to be a leader" Anna smirked as she watched Ms Mason walk in to the room with another incredibly inappropriate dress on
"Sorry about ranting Anna, it's just she makes me so mad at the minute but you know I don't think Johnny even likes her" Steph added as the T-birds strolled in slowly with Rhonda following in behind with Goose
"yeah you might be right but either way until they stop seeing each other I don't see her getting any better, maybe I should have a chat with Ash and see if she can talk some sense into her" Anna suggested as Rhonda took her seat behind the two
"Is that Paulette you're talking about?" Rhonda asked as she moved her desk forward so that the three girls could talk better
"Yeah just about her new attitude since she started going out with Johnny" Steph explained as she turned in her chair towards the two other girls
"Hey Anna" a voice spoke out next to the brunette making her turn towards it
"Hey Mikey" Anna giggled watching him flush a little at her nickname for him
"So I was thinking of going to that place you told me about tonight do you want to come?" Michael asked aware that the others were listening to their conversation
"Sure I mean I have to go to the talent show rehearsal but I can meet you there later on" Anna smiled brightly at the blonde haired man in front of her
"Great well I will see you then" Michael smiled as he headed back towards his seat
"What was that? Are you going on a date with Shakespeare?" Rhonda asked giggling
"no I said I would help him with something and for him to let me know when it was best for him to do it so I guess he just did" Anna snapped a little annoyed with the way everyone saw Michael
"What are you helping with he has like the best grades in our class?" Rhonda asked suddenly confused
"Oh thanks Rhonda you make me sound really stupid, if you must know he wanted to learn about being a mechanic, his uncle and him are working on an old car to fix it up and I said I would help him out with some basics" Anna explained looking over to Steph who smiled and looked relived by this new information
"Well he couldn't off asked for a better teacher then you in that department" Steph grinned and turned back to her book while Ms Mason started taking attendance
"Hey Johnny did you hear that Anna is going out with Mr History tonight?" Goose asked as the two sat down in the canteen, each looking around for the rest of the group
"What?" Johnny asked as he turned to his taller friend, a confused look gracing his face
"Yeah she was telling Rhonda in home room about how they are going to work on his old man's car together or something, you know like you two used to do together all the time except well now neither of them has a guy or a chick so you know they may end up doing more" Goose laughed loudly
"no she would never go out with him, she's too cool for that" Johnny frowned as he tried to push away this niggling feeling that maybe Goose was right and he had lost his chance with the beautiful raven haired scouser
"well she is going out with him tonight and you never know maybe she is just as much as a nerd as he is I mean they are both from the same country and she is pretty smart" Goose smirked as he spotted Rhonda, Anna and Steph heading towards them slowly
Johnny turned to glare at his friend when he spotted the three girls approaching the table, Rhonda looked excited, Steph seemed to be indifferent but Anna looked to be very uncomfortable and he guess it was probably because they hadn't really spoken since they had that fight a week or so ago
"Hey Goose" Rhonda smiled as she sat down next to the tall man, his eyes looking her over as she did so
"Hey babe" Goose smirked as he placed his arm around her
"Anna, I hear you're going out with Shakespeare tonight" Johnny suddenly spoke out seconds after the two other girls had sat down on the opposite side of the table
"Yeah and?" Anna answered as she looked up and glared at the dark haired man in front of her
"Well as a pink lady you know the rules you can only date a T-bird" Johnny explained as though it was simply a matter of rules that was bothering him but Steph could see straight through him and he was jealous
"oh well in that case I will call it all off and sit at home waiting for a T-bird to come knocking on my door" Anna replied with venom as her eyes glazed over with anger directed towards the leader of the T-birds, his brown eyes staring back at her stunned
"Look am not saying you can't hang out with the him, I mean he will seriously damage your rep but you know you can only be a T-bird chick until graduation" Johnny stammered back nervously as he looked at the deadly glare he was receiving now from both Anna and Steph
"well that's mighty big of you, so now you're telling me I can hang around with who I want but I can't go on a date with someone I want because you don't approve well listen to me Johnny Nogerelli I think if you want to talk to someone about following rules and changing their behaviour look at your own girlfriend because she has become a bitch since you started playing around with her and I for one know that if she talks to me like that again that this school is going to find out that Ash isn't the only Plunkett prone to violence and as for you, you ever try and tell me what I can and cant do again I will make sure that you are no longer recognisable as a man, you don't own me Johnny and you and I are not even friends anymore so just leave me alone and stay out of my life" Anna yelled as she stood up from her chair, the whole canteen stopping to watch the small girl shouting at the most popular guy in school
"Anna wait I aint finished talking to you yet" Johnny yelled as she turned and walked out of the room, the T-bird rushing to catch up with her, the whole crowd watching as they go
"Well what was that about?" Rhonda asked as Steph and Goose both turned back to her
"Oh are you two blind, they love each other" Steph stated as she rolled her eyes and looked to outside the window where the two where once again shouting at each other but in a more private setting
"What you really think so" Rhonda gasped as she realised she hadn't spotted it before
"Yeah, it's been obvious since the day she arrived, why do you think I broke up with him?" Steph asked smiling at the two confused faces sat with her
"I just thought you liked someone else" Rhonda smiled shyly
"well I don't know about that but I didn't love Johnny the way I used to anymore and seeing him with her made me realise they deserved to be together but him being the stubborn idiot that he is didn't take the chance that I offered him and instead ended up with Paulette" Stephanie explained as she watched the two still shouting at each other
"That's sad, and poor Anna having to watch us all be happy and sitting their having to keep watching him with other girls" Rhonda sighed as she looked to Goose who still looked stunned by the new information
"Well now I feel bad for bringing up the whole Shakespeare thing" Goose finally said as he too looked out the window
"it wasn't your fault honey you didn't know but I guess we will have to be careful what we say in the future to the two and make sure we keep it to just us that they like each other because is Paulette finds out she is going to freak" Rhonda sighed as she looked down at her plate full of food
"yeah we will have to make sure that never happens" Steph frowns as the pair walk away again towards the car park
"Anna stop walking away from me"
"Why so you can keep trying to tell me how to live my life no thank you" Anna snapped back as the pair rounded the side of the canteen away from the crowds outside
"Just listen to me Anna please, I just don't want to see you get with someone who isn't good enough for you" Johnny shouted his cheeks flushing with anger and pain
"And who are you to decide who is good enough for me? Who are you to decide anything to do with my life, you are not my brother or my father and you are not Kenickie or Ash so why do you think you have any say in my life?" Anna turned on him, her eyes watery as though she was fighting tears but the look in her eyes was not sad it was anger and hurt, she was furious
"I am your friend and the leader of the T-birds, I am meant to uphold traditions and look out for this group and you are a pink lady you belong to the T-birds and you will until graduation" Johnny growled his own anger controlling his mouth rather than his logic
"belong I belong to you oh honey you are more stupid then I thought, I don't belong to anyone but me and in case you have forgotten I don't belong to a T-bird, I didn't get my jacket by screwing one of you I got mine by proving myself worthy of it like the original pink ladies did so you don't have any say in anything I do"
"I will not let you do this to me… I mean to yourself, this is stupid Anna can't you see you don't belong with a guy like him" Johnny blushed as he realised what he had said
"Do this to you? What has it got to do with you? And calling me stupid and telling me who I can and can't date is really not helping this whole we are friends shit you seem to think will work" Anna snapped again although she was confused by his statement
"Just think about what you're doing? Do you even know this guy? I mean do you know what being with someone like him will do to your reputation" he knew he was grasping at straws but he couldn't let her do this,
"What reputation do I have Johnny? Am the virgin pink lady who is the leader of the pink ladies kid sister, I don't sleep around and I don't fight and I don't go on dates so what reputation do I possibly have?" Anna snapped, she knew there was something else bothering him if it was just her reputation he wouldn't be bothered, why would he be? It's not like it's going to affect him but something in the way he was speaking and moving made her think there was something else to this something he wasn't saying
"look so you don't have much of one but if you go out with him you will, I mean you will be one of the most popular girls in school going out with a nerd" Johnny shouted back trying to cover his feelings again to stop him from blurting them out at her
"What is it that is really bugging you here Johnny, what is that a guy finally likes me or that I finally might like a guy that isn't you?" Anna shouted before she realised what she had said and turned to walk away quickly hoping to get to her car to hide out for the rest of lunch without him catching her but it seemed she wasn't that lucky
"Anna wait, what do you mean who isn't me?"
"Anna, just talk to me please at least explain that I mean what was that and why do you keep shouting at me all the time Anna"
"Anna" Johnny carried on, had he heard her right did she just admit she liked him, his heart was soaring but his mind was telling him to be careful, it could all of been a mistake, either what she said or what he heard
"Johnny will you stop following me and just leave me alone" Anna cried as she turned back to him as they entered the car park, her cheeks showing tracks of tears glistening in the sun and her eyes a little pink
"Anna what's wrong?" Johnny stepped forwards quickly towards her but stopped when she back away just as quick
"Please Johnny I just want to be left alone" Anna frowned as she tried to turn away again but he reached out and grabbed her arm firmly
"Anna tell me what's going on, ever since we went bowling you have been down my throat every chance you get and you shout at me, snap at me and you act as though you don't want to know me but then I see you looking at me all the time and you don't avoid me so what is it? Come on Anna we were best friends, talk to me" Johnny whispered as he brushed some hair off her face, his hand lingering on her cheek as he wiped away a tear with his thumb
"I can't tell you because even if I do it won't change anything and besides I don't want it to, I mean I would be embarrassing myself and even if it was reciprocated it would only end up hurting people, look I want to be your friend again am just not sure how to be at the moment" Anna whispered back as she let herself relax in his small embraces
"Look Anna I don't care about other people right now I just want to know what's wrong with you and why we can't be friends, I miss you Anna and I miss spending time with you, I miss you telling me am wrong or the way you laugh, I miss you singing while walking around the garage, just tell me what I did and I will fix it" Johnny stated looking deep in to her hazel eyes
"It's not something you did to me Johnny and it's not something either one of us can just fix it's just something that needs to die away until we can be friends again" Anna sobbed quietly as she felt his hands press to her cheeks wiping away her tears
"Anna just tell me please, I need to know what it was that broke what we had, you were my best friend and then nothing, you didn't warn me or speak to me or anything it was just best friends one day the next you were gone" Johnny frowned as he looked at the small girl in front of him, her cheeks stained with tears and her eyes surrounded with her makeup and yet she still was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen
"Johnny I am sorry and I know I should have been brave and just told you but the thing is am not brave and after everything with Ash and my family and stuff I just I don't know if I can take losing someone else and so instead I pushed you away and am sorry for that but oh god this is so hard…" Anna whimpered as she brushed her hand through her hair
"look Johnny I like you and I thought you liked me but when you broke up with Steph and said you still loved her and then went with Paulette, look it was just hard for me to see ok, and I didn't want to be around you for a while so I started pushing you away hoping that it would stop me liking you so much but if anything it just made me feel worse" Anna looked down at the floor, unable to keep eye contact with him anymore, she had done it she had told him but it didn't make her feel better in fact she was embarrassed and ashamed and would really like to crawl under and rock and live there for a while
Johnny looked at her for a second, his heart in his mouth, she had said it, she said she liked him and this time he knew he heard her. He didn't know what to do, and he definitely didn't know what to say so he went with his instincts,
Moving his hand from her cheek he lifted her face by placing his fingers under her chin, she slowly made eye contact with him and as she did he smiled and leaned in towards her, and after a seconds hesitation to see if she would pull away he pushed forward again and that was it, the most amazing feeling he had ever felt ran through his body, his chest felt like there was flames running through it, his head was screaming loudly and his finger seemed to tingle from where they rested on her skin
Anna was stunned for a second, was this happening was he kissing her? Was that heavenly taste on her lips him? His lips where firm against hers and soft and gentle at the same time, his tongue ran along the length of her lip asking for access to her mouth, she smiled a little and repeated the process to him causing a growl to rise in his throat.
Johnny let his hands roam down her sides and land on her hips, pulling her close to him and yet moving her back so she was leaning against her car, her chest pushing up in to his causing a sudden rush of blood towards his pants.
Anna knew this was wrong, this shouldn't be happening, he didn't like her, he loved Stephanie and he was dating Paulette, this was out of pity because she admitted to liking her best friend, yet why did it feel so good, did it feel this good to him, did he feel like he was on fire, tingles shooting around his body like electricity. A rush of heat started to building in her stomach as his hands moved around from her back to her hips, each move causing her muscles to spasm and relax all at the same time.
Johnny finally pulled back for some air but continued to kiss down her jawline and on to her neck; the thrill of being close to her finally to hearing her small but distinct moans at his touch was driving him crazy, his hands roaming her body with a mind of their own
Anna couldn't believe this was happening, this was all she had dreamt off since the moment she saw him in shop, the moment he spoke to her and now it was happening but this creeping feeling of something dark and gruesome was gnawing away at her, churning her stomach and now that he had pulled back a little her sense seemed to be returning and they were returning quick
"Johnny stop we need to stop" Anna cried out as she tried to push him away gently
"Why Anna I thought this is what you wanted?" Johnny asked stunned by her sudden change of heart
"It is but not like this, your still dating Paulette, your still in love with Steph and am just a conciliation prize, I don't want you to feel like you owe me something out of pity and I don't want to hurt anyone so just stop please" Anna cried out as tears started to fall again
"Oh baby please don't cry, look I know things are complicated but this, this feels right" Johnny tried to explain as he wrapped his arms around her again but she shoved him back forcefully
"Johnny if you decide one day that this is what you want well then this will happen again but until you know what it is you want between us this never happened" Anna sobbed as she turned away from him and got in to her car, she knew she shouldn't keep skipping school and Ash was going to kill her but staying there with him was not the type of afternoon she could handle right now
He stood there for a few moments watching her drive away, his lips still tingling with the touch of hers, his mouth watering with the taste of her, like strawberries in his mouth. His hands warm from the touch of her skin, how could everything go from being horrible to perfect and back to feeling horrible so fast, this girl was giving him emotional whip lash
He turned and headed back towards the school not noticing the two separate people who had seen this display of affection between him and his so called best friend.
