Chapter 3: The Surprise Visit:

Sonic's POV:

We were getting the floats ready, but my uncles were having different ideas.

"I think that sounds a little dangerous," says Uncle Chuck.

"But it could be more fun," says Uncle Barnaby.

"Yeah, this was a good idea," says Knuckles.

"We have an intruder," says Bass.

We looked. "Did Aneka mistake this place for the mall or something," asks Scar.

"Espio!" Aneka then ran towards Espio.

"Can I help you," asks Espio.

"Listen, I'm reincarnated from a ninja princess... I know, sounds weird. Anyway, back in Ancient Japan, she kept an evil man from getting this magic scroll, but he swore he would return, so the scroll chooses you as its next protector and I have to guide you to keep it safe from Gyokuro!"

"I didn't think she was into cosplay," says Scar.

"Get out," says Espio.

"It's all the truth," says Aneka, "you are the guardian of the Chaos Scroll! Gyokuro has also reincarnated, and he will stop at nothing to find the scroll! We have to find it before he does..."

"Okay, I think you should go now," says Rouge. Omega then picks up Aneka and walks away with her.

"It's all true! Gyokuro is after the scroll!"

"Do you think any of that is true," asks Charmy.

"It isn't," says Espio.

"You sure about-" I began.

"It isn't!" Espio then walks away.

I have a feeling there's something he's not telling us.

I found Espio. "Hey," I said, "so, is there a reason you don't want to listen?"

"I don't open up," says Espio.

"You know I'm not gonna stop asking until you answer, right," I asked.

Espio sighs. "As you know, I am a member of the Shinobi Clan," says Espio, "we served as a police force for the Dragon Kingdom. There... was a prophecy that said I was destined for something great."

"Can't be to save all of reality from the Phantom Ruby," I said, "Tails already had that one."

"They never said," says Espio, "all I know is that I had some kind of destiny... but... I ran."

"Woah," I said, "you were afraid of your destiny!"

"That's why I joined Chaotic," says Espio, "I thought it was the best way to hide from my destiny."

"Espio," I said, "you can't hide from things like that."

"I... I guess I was just scared," says Espio, "but this is just between you and me!" We then heard a sneeze. "And Cream apparently."

"Chao."

"And Cheese," says Espio.

"Don't worry," says Cream, "I won't tell anyone."

Yusuke Mifune's POV:

So, the scroll chose a reptile to keep it safe. I will turn him into a leather belt! Wait, perhaps there is a way I can use him to my advantage...

"Mr. Mifune?" Right, I have a meeting. "So, can we have Thanksgiving off?"

"Of course," I said, "happy Thanksgiving!" They cannot know about my evil plan.

Sonic's POV:

"Those rockets would make it too fast," says Uncle Chuck.

"But it's like Sonic," says Uncle Barnaby.

"Do you even know how parades work," asks Uncle Chuck.

"Hey Sonic, what was all that about," asks Rouge.

"I'll learn the story once I find Aneka," I said, "but first, I'll have to know where she lives."

"She lives next door to me," says Day, "she's always complaining about the way I dress."

"Got it," I said.

I arrived at Aneka's house. I then knocked on the door and Aneka answers. "Hey," I said, "look, I know you're probably not going to tell me anything, but-" She then grabbed me into her house.
