Chapter 1

People… Are not born equal. That's the hard truth the world would eventually learn of after Izuku Midoriya was born. They didn't know it then, though. Nor would they for a very long time. Not until the time Izuku truly understood his quirk and truly started on his path to be the greatest hero ever.

▬▬ι═══════

Just like most kids in this world, Izuku dreamed of becoming a hero. It was something that he needed to do. Even before he understood the meaning of heroes or watched All Might's debut video, Izuku wanted to help people. Every time he saw someone sad or crying, Izuku wanted to reach out to them and tell them that it was going to be okay. When he saw someone in trouble, Izuku wanted to help them. Save them.

Seeing All Might's debut video only helped shape his desires and gave it a name. A hero. Izuku Midoriya wanted to be a hero. He wanted to save and help people like the one who did it best: All Might.

Izuku wasn't strong though. He was small for his age and frankly quite weak. You could even have called him a wimp. Each time he tried to help a kid being bullied by others, he would get beaten along with the victim. Not exactly something that inspired any confidence. He had wanted to start training his body to get stronger and prepare to be a hero, but his mom had forbidden him until he was older. She knew that could be bad for him since he was so young, and didn't want him to affect his growth negatively.

Izuku only had two friends, Tsubasa and Katsuki Bakugō. Bakugō was proud, strong, and bowed to no one. He was the leader of their little gang and he didn't like anyone questioning his authority. He was Izuku's oldest friend, as both of their mothers were very close friends themselves and raised them together. Bakugō wasn't always nice though, in fact, Bakugō being nice is the exception. He viewed himself as better than others and didn't like it when someone tried to help him, believing that the person was just looking down at him. He was the one who came up with Izuku's mean nickname: Deku, another way of reading his name, which meant useless. It only got worse as they got older. Bakugō was the first one to get a quirk and an extremely powerful quirk on top of that. Truthfully, Tsubasa wasn't much of a friend. He was more of a hanger-on, as he only followed Bakugō's lead.

Though lately, Izuku had been drifting apart from them. They had started bullying other kids, and Izuku had tried to stand up to them several times already. And of course, since he always got beaten up for his efforts, no one ever thanked him. Who would thank a hero who got beat up by the villain alongside the victim they were supposed to save? It was pathetic, really.

▬▬ι═══════

Izuku was over four years old and his quirk hadn't manifested yet. As he got closer and closer to five years old, Izuku started fearing that he wouldn't get any quirk at all. That he was going to be quirkless. The doctor had tried to reassure them that all signs pointed toward Izuku having a quirk (what with the missing second joint on his pinky toe on top of the Plus Alpha Factor test) but that didn't stop Izuku from being worried, especially in situations such as the one he found himself in.

"Get out of the way, Deku!"

Izuku was standing between a rather small guy who was being bullied and Bakugō, Tsubasa and another boy with a finger-extending quirk that he couldn't remember the name of. Izuku saw them bullying the poor kid and decided to interfere like usual. It was almost a routine at this point, honestly. He would try to help, and the victim would run away while he took their place. Bakugō had once questioned him if he enjoyed the pain, which Izuku denied.

It was a thankless job, but Izuku didn't care. He just couldn't stand by and let it happen on his watch. He was just that kind of person. He was born this way, and there was nothing he could do to stop that part of him.

"What do you think you can do here, huh?" The ever-angry Bakugō asked. His arms were smoking as sparks emitted from them, making Izuku flinch. He had received too many of those explosions in the past and knew just how strong and painful they could be.

"S-Stop this! It's the wrong thing to do! Don't y-you want to b-be a hero?" Izuku internally cursed at his stuttering. He could see the other kids watching the exchange curiously, not even one of them bothering to step in. Hell, he could see the teacher hovering a little away, pretending that he wasn't seeing anything. Teachers were like that most of the time. They were simply useless. Izuku felt something swell inside of him like a well was being filled up with something.

Bakugō's scowl deepened even further, a vein was visible on his forehead showing how angry he was getting which didn't bode well for Izuku. "What is this?... A useless idiot like you shouldn't talk about heroes! It's not like you'll ever be one! " Bakugō literally exploded as he rushed toward Izuku, one of his palms extended ready to fire an explosion in his face.

The bubble of something fought inside of Izuku, swelling further and fighting to get out as Bakugō got closer. He yelled, out of fear or frustration, he knew not. He was surprised, however, that instead of releasing a pathetic scream, a beam of emerald energy erupted from his mouth, striking Bakugō and sending him flying.

W-What was that? Was that a quirk?

Before Izuku could celebrate his quirk, the finger guy used his to wrap his fingers around Izuku's mouth. Unable to open it, he couldn't use the same attack as before. However, Izuku still felt the energy swell inside of him. On instinct, he pushed out his palm. A green blast of energy was launched as it struck the finger guy making him release Izuku.

"Deku!" The scream of pure rage made Izuku turn toward his former childhood friend. Bakugō was roughed up, his shirt ruined and nose bleeding. The hateful glare that he had eclipsed anything that Bakugō had given him before now. Bakugō was furious.

Before things could escalate even further, the teacher finally stepped in. "Alright, Bakugō, Midoriya. That's enough." He said as if he wasn't watching the whole thing from the start. "Bakugō, go to the nurse's office." Bakugō looked ready to object, but a stern look from the teacher made him huff and comply. Not before he gave Izuku a withering glare. There was a promise of future pain in it.

Izuku on the other hand was swarmed by other students who expressed their happiness and excitement for Izuku's quirk. People asked to be his friend and some started asking about his amazing quirk. For a few moments, Izuku was happy that he finally had a quirk. He finally had friends. Until he remembered that none of them bothered to help just a few moments prior before he could use his quirk, and the happy feeling disappeared.

▬▬ι═══════

Negative emotions were a part of everyone's life. They played an important role in making people appreciate the finer parts of life. They made it even more beautiful. After all, one would value the sun more after spending days in the dark. They gave meaning to the lovely parts of life as, without it, they'd become rather dull after a time. It was once said that no one appreciated what they had until it was gone, and people don't truly cherish happiness until they've tasted sadness.

One of these negative emotions was loneliness. For some, it was perhaps the worst of it all and the most painful.

Izuku was very lonely. It had been more than a year since he awakened his Quirk, and the other kids had immediately flocked to him. After having been ignored and mistreated by his peers for years, suddenly everyone thought he was the coolest. It had been overwhelming. He had stopped being friends with Bakugō and Tsubasa after that fateful day. He realized they had never been his friends at all. That they had always looked down on him in truth and treated him as a minion, not a friend. They thought of him as a funny joke. Maybe they thought him a charity case? The realization that he was all alone had driven Izuku to accept everyone else. At least at first. It quickly became clear that the other kids were barely better than Bakugō and Tsubasa. They only cared about his quirk, not him. They wanted to see Izuku with the flashy powerful quirk, not the nerdy Izuku. Not wanting to be used by fakes, he distanced himself from them and treated them as classmates. Nothing more.

Yet still, Izuku longed for some true friends. Having no one to play with…. No one to trust… no one to laugh and enjoy life with…

It wasn't a happy feeling.

Izuku looked at the figurine in his hands. It was one of a not-so-well-known heroine. In fact, Izuku was barely able to find anything about her. The figurine was of a beautiful woman with a slender yet voluptuous frame, and at the same time, she was well-built as befitting a heroine. She was fair-skinned and had a small mole below her bottom lip and sharp eyes. Her hair was dark and straight, kept shoulder-length with the exception of a clump of short bangs hanging above her forehead, styled in a half-up-half-down bun.

Izuku thought that she greatly reminded him of his own mother, and he wondered if they were distantly related. He doubted that of course, but the thought endeared the figurine to Izuku more.

Her hero costume consisted of a dark, sleeveless bodysuit with a high collar, yellow elbow-length gloves, and white knee-high boots. Around her waist was a belt with an angular golden buckle, a small cape attached around the back which hung down to her knees, and over her shoulder was a longer cape, buttoned to the shoulders of her bodysuit.

The heroine struck an impressive pose with her hands on her waist and a grin that matched All Might's.

The few articles, low-quality photos, and videos that he had found indicated that she was a Pro Hero over thirty or forty years ago. Not much was known about her or her fate but given that she had disappeared a long time ago. She most likely was either dead or retired to a quiet place.

Her hero name was apparently, Sky Gal: Nana. She seemed able to float, hence the name, and had great physical power that reminded him of All Might. Not to the same level, obviously, but she had been much stronger than her frame would have suggested. Izuku found out that All Might had financed the release of this line of figurines, making him wonder if they were related.

He wasn't sure if it was because it was one of a kind, or because it reminded him of his mother, but Nana was one of his favourite figurines in his collection. Hero merchandise about Pro Heroes from long ago was quite rare, so in a way, it reminded him of himself.

"You're lonely just like me, aren't you?"

People might think of him as an idiot for talking to a figurine, but Izuku was still only a six-year-old kid with no friends. And he was really frustrated and bored.

"I wish that people would stop trying to be my friend just for my quirk. I really want some real friends. People who don't want to use me and who don't go around trying to put me down." A certain explosive blond kid came to mind.

That frustration made Izuku lose control of his quirk as emerald energy started surrounding the figurine. Not that Izuku noticed.

"I really want a friend. You want one too, don't you? I wish you could be my friend. I want you to be my friend so that I can talk to you!" Finished Izuku with a frustrated yell, his eyes closed, so he never noticed the brief green flash of light.

"You're really squeezing me too hard. Ease up a little, buddy!"

Izuku blinked at the unfamiliar sound. He looked around the room and saw nothing. He shrugged thinking that he was imagining things.

"Down here, Izuku!"

Izuku blinked as slowly looked down to the figurine being held in his hands, seeing it struggle to get out of his grip.

….

…..

He blinked and blinked again before he fainted.

▬▬ι═══════

Izuku came back to the world a few minutes later as he opened his eyes.

"That was a weird dream…"

Izuku heard a voice. "You're finally awake!"

He looked down at his chest to see the Nana figurine standing on him with her hands on her waist, leaning toward him with a frown on her face.

Izuku blinked.

….

….

And he fainted again.

"Oh, no you don't!" Nana yelled as she used her hands to pinch Izuku's cheeks, making him yelp, jump from his place, and throw her off to his bed.

"W-Wait! This is real!" Izuku screamed as he stared wide-eyed at the talking and moving figurine in front of him. He was thankful that his mother was out of the house for the time being.

"Of course, I'm real!" The figurine stomped its foot, showing its anger.

Izuku looked at it in disbelief. "H-How? Is this some kind of feature? Like, 'take care of this figurine for an x number of months and she'd talk back to you?'"

"What kind of feature is that!? And you think that this kind of technology exists?" Nana questioned with a raised eyebrow. "I'm like this because of you!"

Izuku was taken aback by that. "Me?" he asked in shock.

"Yes. The first thing that I felt was your energy pouring into me before I realised that I'm 'alive' now." The 'alive' was said with air quotes.

"My energy?" Izuku stared at her dumbly, disbelieving. "You mean that my quirk gave you life? How?" As far as Izuku knew, his quirk converted his lipids and stamina into green energy that he could use. While it was powerful, it never displayed any special powers as far as he knew.

...Though to be fair, it wasn't like he ever tried it before. Even then, going from an energy blast that could destroy a rock to even thinking that it could give life was pretty far fetched. He only used it as a form of attack. A destructive power like Bakugō's. He didn't think that it could be used for anything else. He was barely six years old after all, and after interacting with Bakugō and seeing All Might as an idol, it was hard to think that a destructive quirk like that could ever be used for something else. After all, it wasn't like All Might could bring things to life, and he was the most amazing hero ever!

Nana shrugged. "How would I know? It's your own quirk."

Izuku put a hand on his chin as he thought it through. He was thinking that he wanted a friend. No, he wanted Nana to be his friend. And if what Nana was saying was true, then he was pouring his energy unconsciously at the same time into the figurine. Was it because he wanted it at the same time? Because put energy inside of her? Was that all there was to it? Is it limited to giving life to inanimate objects?

"Izuku, you're mumbling like crazy."

"Ah, s-sorry, Nana… I can c-call you N-Nana, right?"

Nana nodded happily with a smile. "Of course! You wanted a friend, didn't you? That's what I am. Nana is my name, and it'd be weird if you called me Sky Gal."

Izuku felt a brief warmth at finally having a friend, but the situation demanded his attention as he realised something important. "W-Wait… Are you the real Sky Gal somehow or what? Or are you simply her figurine which can talk and walk?"

"I'm not really sure… I know that Sky Gal's real name is Nana Shimura. I have a few memories here and there from her. A friend called Torino and a blond boy I called Toshi. I know that I, or she, was killed by a villain, but nothing more than that. It's like there is something missing. I know things that happened after that, or I know what you know."

Izuku pondered that for a few moments. There wasn't enough information for them to paint a full picture. The fact that she knew information that he didn't know suggested that maybe his quirk worked on compensating for what he couldn't have known somehow. Was she Nana Shimura? If yes, then how? Or did his quirk somehow get some memories of the real thing? Was it because he was thinking of the hero and wanted her figurine to be his friend? Was it because she was already dead? There were too many unknowns for that. The fact he didn't really understand what his quirk did meant that he'd likely never reach the answer anytime soon.

"You're doing it again," Nana said, amusement clear in her tone.

He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "S-Sorry. It's sort of a h-habit… I need to figure out what exactly my quirk does."

"Are you going to try another figurine?" Nana asked and Izuku could detect a slight sadness in her voice. He realised that he created her to be his friend, and she most likely didn't like that she could be replaced by another figurine.

He shook his head. "No. I want to see what else my quirk can do! Besides, it'd be weird to see an All Might figurine talking to me, and you're already more than enough." Izuku said. He smiled when he noticed Nana puff out her chest and grin widely at him.

"What are you going to do then?"

Izuku thought about it for a moment. He took in his room searching for something to use. He didn't want to bring anything else to life., He wanted to try to figure out what else his power could do. It seemed simple. He had to think of something he wanted, really wanted, and pour his energy inside of it. He thought it best to try something small and simple.

Izuku took out his notebook and tore out a piece of paper.

Nana inched closer to him, leaning on his leg as she watched him curiously. "What are you going to do with that?"

"I'll try and make it so that this paper can resist tearing and cutting. That should be a good test!" He explained as he took a deep breath. He concentrated as emerald energy surrounded his hands and enveloped the paper. No matter what anyone did to the paper, it would NOT rip! He felt the paper resisting his fingers as he tried to tear it apart. Izuku latched onto that idea as he poured his energy into the paper. There was a brief show of light and Izuku noticed a faint sheen of green light surrounding the paper.

"Moment of truth..." He whispered as he picked up a pair of scissors and tried to cut the paper in half. It utterly failed. The scissors simply stopped on the surface of the paper. There was a faint bend, but otherwise, the paper resisted the scissors as if it were steel.

"This is so cool!" Exclaimed Izuku as he examined his handiwork.

Nana raised an eyebrow at him. "Cooler than making a doll alive?"

"It's not a doll, it's a figurine and… yeah, I guess that was cooler." Izuku paused for a moment. "Anyway, I still don't get exactly what this is so I think it's time to start researching my quirk." He said as he booted up his PC ready to read everything he could find that might clue him what exactly his quirk was.

▬▬ι═══════

"Why the hell do you have a doll on your shoulder, Midoriya?" Bakugō asked, his voice dripping in incredulity paired with his trademark scowl.

"It's not a doll, it's a figurine! And this is Nana!" Izuku answered, annoyed by how everyone called his figurine a doll. He didn't like dolls, damn it! He was a figurine collector, not some old lady or little girl collecting creepy dolls.

Bakugō just scoffed. "That's just a fancy way to say that you play with dolls."

Izuku gritted his teeth in frustration before he gasped in shock when he heard Nana's giggling. His first friend betrayed him!

The students around them, including Bakugō, stared wide-eyed at her.

"Let me ask this again… Why the hell do you have a talking doll on your shoulder?!"

"Language, young man! And I'm not a doll! I'm Nana!"

Izuku sighed. Nana was adamant about coming to school with him. Nothing he could say swayed her mind as she clung to him saying that friends don't leave each other alone. He didn't want to take her with him precisely for this kind of situation.

"My quirk brought her to life!." He grinned at the looks of shock and amazement in the crowd. This was definitely something he could be proud of!

Of course that only served to make Bakugō angrier, going back to using his old nickname for Izuku every time whenever he was pissed. "The hell are you talking about, Deku!? Since when can your quirk do that? Explain!" Sparks started flying from his clenched fists.

Izuku pushed down his old fears from before he had a quirk as he shook his head, crossing his arms over his chest. "I don't owe you an explanation, Bakugō."

Bakugō snarled, looking like he was about to charge at him, but the teacher entering the classroom stopped them both. "Bakugō, Midoriya. Please sit down and don't start a fight first thing in the morning. Midoriya please explain why you have a doll on your shoulder and how that was thanks to your quirk. If I remember correctly, your quirk allows you to turn your lipids and stamina into energy that you can use to do various attacks."

"I-It's not a doll, H-Hatarou-sensei…" Izuku grumbled as Nana snickered at him again. "Why are you laughing? You're the one they're calling a doll." He whispered at her, making her shut up.

"As for my quirk… I'm sorry sensei, but I'd like to keep that a secret for now until I can understand it better. It was a recent development."

His teacher frowned but nodded. The rest of the class were obviously disappointed by that. Izuku didn't feel like explaining his quirk to these people. The reactions when he discovered his quirk the first time gave him an indication of what their reactions would be now. He didn't owe them an explanation, and Nana had advised him against freely giving information about his quirk just yesterday.

▬▬ι═══════

"You don't want me to update my quirk registration files?" Izuku asked, surprised by what Nana had just asked of him. After he realized what his quirk really was. He planned on updating his quirk registration files, but Nana objected to it.

"Izuku. Your quirk is incredibly powerful and versatile. Its potential dwarfs many quirks. As a child now, not many would be interested in you. However, as you grow up and people know about it, many will seek to use it through you. Villains, shady characters, governments… etc. Most would merely check your files and rarely dig further into your life unless they were interested in the first place. So, don't give them a reason to." Her serious expression showed that she believed that the topic was serious enough. Even her usual grin wasn't present.

"They're going to discover about my quirk eventually anyway. What's the point?" He eventually would go to a hero school, become a sidekick and then a Pro Hero. It wasn't like he could hide it forever.

Nana nodded. "True, but that gives you time to prepare first. Plus you'd have your own hero school to protect you against such things. U.A. especially, if you decide to go there. As it is now, you're just a six-year-old kid with no allies or Pro Heroes around. You're easy pickings for anyone who would exploit you," She said. "And, as far as I know, there isn't any penalty for that, is there?"

Izuku shook his head. "No there aren't. I... I guess you're right."

Nana smiled smugly. "Of course I am."

"Nana! Izuku! The dinner is ready." His mother's voice came before he could whine or grumble at Nana.

The first time his mother had met Nana was hilarious. It took them more than half an hour to get his mother to finally calm down after a series of panicking, fainting, and screaming at possessed dolls and something about Annabelle. After they explained everything they knew about Nana at the time, his mother was quick to accept her and treated her like her own daughter.

Nana herself had taken a liking to his mother. She had said that his mother reminded her of her own back when Nana Shimura was a little girl. Nana was also fond of his mother's cooking, especially her katsudon which led to a lot of food competitions between her and Izuku as they fought over who'd eat more katsudon than the other.

It was weird seeing a former figurine eat food and drink water like any normal person. Nana didn't need to eat food, but she chose to because she enjoyed it.

The dinner was katsudon which was Izuku's favourite food.

"Inko, is there an open space nearby where Izuku can train?" Nana asked suddenly a few minutes after they started eating their dinner. Izuku was already clearing his second bowl. His quirk using lipids meant that he needed to eat large quantities of food.

His mother frowned at Nana's question. "Nana. I know that you mean well, but I don't want Izuku to train too early and stunt his growth."

Nana simply waved his mother's concerns off with a wave of her hand. "Don't worry about that, Inko. I'm merely starting him on cardio exercises, jogging and the like. Those won't affect his growth, and while he won't be able to defeat villains because of them, it'd at least increase his stamina and keep him healthy."

"Ah, well… If it's something like that then it's alright…" His mother said before she paused for a few moments, a finger on her chin as she pondered the question from before. "Well, there is a small park nearby that not many people use. It'd be perfect for that."

"Great!" Nana clapped her hands together. "We can start training tomorrow then."

▬▬ι═══════

"What? You can't let him get away with it!" Growled Bakugō.

"Bakugō. Midoriya isn't obliged to explain his quirk to us if he doesn't want to. Now, all of you sit down so we can start homeroom."

Izuku smiled at his teacher's words, but he didn't fail to see Bakugō's deepening scowl or the dangerous sparks emitting from his hands as he glared hatefully at him. Izuku knew that Bakugō's ego would never let him accept someone being better than him. He only hoped that it wouldn't become too much of a problem in the future.

▬▬ι═══════

It had been two years since Izuku had started coming to this park to train. Today, he wasn't using it to train his body, but rather he was trying to shorten the time that his enchantment needed to activate. He hadn't made much improvement on his speed since he figured out what his quirk truly was. And it was sure to prove a hindrance in the middle of combat.

Other than Nana herself, Izuku discovered that the enchantments were temporary. The time they lasted depended on how much power he put into them, and what type of enchantment it was. Another thing was that while he could put more than one enchantment on an object, not everything could withstand it and would result in the object breaking.

"Why am I not getting better at this?" Izuku ran his fingers through his hair, almost wanting to tear it out from frustration.

"Relax, Izuku. You'll get it… eventually." That wasn't exactly reassuring to Izuku who shot her an unimpressed look.

Izuku focused again, to use the very first enchantment he ever used. A piece of paper sat in his hand as he focused on what he wanted before he poured his energy into the paper.

"Aggh! It's still too slow!" He tried to tear the paper, but it only resisted him, making him stumble and fall face-first into the ground.

Izuku suddenly heard a very bubbly voice out of nowhere. "Wow! What was that green energy thingy? It was like vooo and got all around the paper and then there was like a bright light! It was so pretty! And then the paper didn't get torn! How? Neh, Neh, answer me! Or was it that you're too weak to tear it apart? Hey, your freckles are pretty cute too!"

Izuku turned to see the cutest little girl that he had ever seen in his life. She looked around his age or maybe a little older and had a beaming smile on her cute face. The girl had periwinkle long hair that curved inward around her leg, fair skin, and really big and wide curious blue eyes that made her look even cuter. She wore a baby blue sundress and matching pumps. Did Izuku mention that the girl was really cute? He might have, but it was an important thing to remember.

The girl seemed to notice Nana who was snickering at him no doubt. The girl's eyes seemed to grow even larger as she stared at Nana. "Now, I'm really curious! Who is this doll? She's so cute. Can I hug her? Is she part of your quirk or is she a girl with a size-changing quirk?" She then turned to Izuku, leaning close to him, their faces almost touching. Izuku's face was red as a tomato as the girl stared at him with her unchanging smile. "Hey! I'm Nejire Hado. What about you, cutie? Tell me about your quirk! What did you do with the paper? I wanna know!"

Izuku's mind halted. He wasn't used to dealing with girls other than Nana, let alone such a cute and cheerful girl that he never met before. And was she calling him cute? Surely he misheard the girl. His brain was fried after all.

"My, you're an energetic one, aren't you?" Nana decided to take the lead as she went to the girl and struck her hands out. "I'm Nana Shimura by the way."

The girl shook Nana's hand with two fingers. Energetically. "Nice to meet you, Nana!" She then leaned back towards Izuku with a hopeful look.

"I-I… I'm Midoriya Izuku, Hado-san."

The girl pouted, cutely. Izuku doubted that the girl could ever be anything but cute no matter the situation. "Come one, Izuku. Call me Nejire. Ne-Ji-Re!"

Izuku blushed. He had just met the girl and already they were on a first name basis? "N-Nejire." The beaming, blinding smile that he got could easily outshine the sun. It only made Izuku blush even harder, achieving a level of redness that was thought impossible without a quirk.

"So… Will you explain your quirk now?"

Hearing her hopeful tone and her wide blue eyes, Izuku found himself explaining everything. About how his quirk worked, about Nana, what he did to the paper and about what he was doing just before Nejire had arrived.

Nejire's eyes sparkled as she took everything in. "Wow! That's really an amazing quirk, Izuku! It's like suuper useful! Can you use it on people?"

Izuku blinked. He never really considered that before, it almost made him want to facepalm at that. If his quirk worked like enchantment magic in fiction then it should theoretically be possible to enchant another human.

"Need someone to try it on," Izuku mumbled.

"I can volunteer!" Nejire interjected cheerfully.

"Absolutely not! It could be dangerous! We can't have you getting hurt, Nejire-chan!" Nana was the voice of reason like always. She might have been Izuku's friend, but she also acted like an older sister or a mother.

Nejire just waved her hands. "I won't, I won't. Izuku can just use something really safe like making me cuter!"

Yeah… that's impossible, Izuku thought before he was hit with an idea. "Maybe I can enchant your hair to have a different colour. It's temporary so it should go back in a few hours. I think."

"Sure, sure!" Nejire nodded enthusiastically. "Make it green just like your eyes!" She added, making Izuku blush again. At this rate the day was going, he was going to get stuck with a permanently red face.

She leaned closer for him to get to her hair as he extended his hand. Soft was all Izuku could think of as his finger touched Nejire's hair. He shook his head to get himself to focus on the task. Izuku focused on gathering his energy before he began concentrating on imagining her hair green. It took less than a minute, but much longer than Izuku liked, to see the flash of light as Nejire's hair turned emerald green.

Izuku took a step back hesitantly, not wanting to let go of Nejire's soft hair. He admired his handiwork as Nejire twirled around, trying to see her hair before she caught a handful of it and brought it to her face, admiring it.

"Wow! That's so cool! I really like my hair like this! I think green is going to be my favourite colour after blue!" She gushed before she hugged Izuku. "See! I knew you could do it!"

Izuku could only nod dumbly as he was hugged for the first time by a girl. He could hear Nana snickering at him, but his mind wasn't really in the right state to even get angry at her. Not when he felt so peaceful and warm…

He almost whined when Nejire released him.

Izuku suddenly had a thought. "N-Nejire. You didn't t-tell me about your quirk."

Nejire blinked dumbly for a moment before she hit the palm of her hand with the other, her mouth forming a perfect 'O'. "How could I forget!? My quirk is called Wave Motion. I can convert my own v-vvvv-vit-something" the sight of her struggling to remember the word was adorable, "into energy and release it like this!" She aimed her hand at the tree and a spiralling torrent of yellow power shot at it, cracking the tiniest bit of bark. She let out a cute little groan, "Mou, it's really slow and makes me tired when I use it." She pouted.

Izuku's eyes sparkled as he heard about her quirk. "Wow, that's amazing! That's a seriously powerful Quirk! The more you train, the better your attacks should be! I can easily see you being a great Pro Hero! Maybe you could even fly if you shoot it from your feet! That would give you greater mobility and mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble-"

Izuku was brought out of his mumbling spree when he heard a cute giggle. He looked at Nejire who was giggling at him before she leaned forward. "You were mumbling like crazy! It was so funny! But you also looked really cute!" She said before she straightened out. "I didn't think of using my quirk to fly before… I'm going to try it!" She declared striking a cute pose with her hands raised in the air.

Nejire jumped and Izuku saw two spirals of yellow energy burst gently from her feet, seemingly stopping her from falling. "W-whoa!" She windmilled her arms and started to fall back, but seemed to catch herself with her hands before Izuku could jump and catch her. She wobbled, but she was definitely floating, making Izuku stare at her with awe. Her hair flowed gently behind her, and Izuku all but started seeing hearts surround her. "IZUKU! SEE! I'M FLYING!" Nejire yelled and Izuku could practically taste the excitement and joy in her voice as she laughed, making him smile from ear to ear. "IZUKU! CATCH!" Nejire shouted after a few moments as she deactivated her quirk and fell towards Izuku. Izuku hurriedly opened his arms as Nejire fell, catching her in a princess carry.

"That was dangerous, Nejire!" Izuku scolded the excitable girl in his arms, and the blush on his face didn't really help to convey how seriously worried he was.

Nejire simply laughed him off tiredly. "That was so amazing, Izuku! I was flying in the air like a bird! It was really fun." She said before she hopped off. The girl surely was carefree.

After half an hour of playing together, Nejire looked at her watch and pouted. "Awww, I really need to get going now…"

Izuku's smile fell at that, feeling sad that he wouldn't be having much more fun with Nejire anymore.

Nejire noticed as she gave Izuku a quick hug. "Hey, don't be sad. We can meet here again tomorrow."

"Meet tomorrow?" Izuku stared dumbly at her. "You want to meet me again?"

Nejire gave him a 'are-you-stupid' look. "Of course, we are! You think that I wouldn't want to meet my new friend?"

Izuku was taken aback at that. Sure, he and Nejire had fun together for the last few hours, but he didn't think that she saw him as a friend. "You really want to be my friend?" He asked in a quiet, hopeful tone.

Nejire tilted her head confusedly before she poked Izuku in the cheek. "Mou~ Don't be silly, Izuku! You're already my friend! We're going to be best friends forever! Nejire doesn't accept losing friends, you know!"

Izuku felt warmth in his body as he smiled his biggest smile. Ever. This was his first-ever friend other than Nana and he could tell how sincere Nejire was. He nodded his head. "Yeah, we're friends. Let's meet tomorrow!"

He was rewarded with another brilliant smile before Nejire hugged him again and left running.

"What an energetic girl," Nana said, reminding Izuku that she was still there. He had completely forgotten about her.

"N-Nana!"

She giggled at him. "I'm happy for you, Izuku. You finally had your first friend, and such a nice girl at that!"

Izuku shook his head. "She's my second friend, Nana. You're my first one, don't forget that."

Nana beamed at him, climbed up his shoulder and gave his neck a hug. "Aww. You're my friend too, Izuku! Now, let's go home before Inko starts worrying."

The rest of the day, Izuku had a giant smile on his face that surprised Inko. She had asked Nana while he was off in his own world, and her explanation resulted in Inko crying tears of joy for her baby boy. He finally had a friend who was near his height! That did make Nana pout; it wasn't her fault that she was a do- figurine!

Izuku never lost that smile as he went to bed that night. Sleep came easily with dreams of having fun with his new friend.

AN:

First, I hope that you guys enjoyed the chapter.

Now. The truth is that I grew to heavily dislike the manga since the last few chapters of the LoV vs MLA arc and the ending of that arc was the last manga chapter that I read. I still follow spoilers and stuff to see what kind of bullshit is happening, but I no longer care to read the manga or like it.

This fic has been planned for a while, but canon and oversaturation basically reduced my drive to write it.

That's why I'm going to outright say that this fic is a low priority. It will be updated whenever I'm in the mood, so don't ask for updates. I might update the next chapter next week, or next month. I myself have no idea. So updates are gonna be sporadic, and my other projects have more importance than this one. I won't abandon it (unless forced to for one reason or another).

The pairing in this fic is a poly. Those in are already decided and I won't add anyone or remove any of them. The list is:

Momo

Mina

Kinoko

Nejire

Miruko

Ryukyu

Mt. Lady.

This is the list. Decide if you want to follow the fic knowing that and don't come crying to me about Miruko's or Ryukyu's ages. Those comments will be ignored.

This chapter starts the story with Izuku's childhood and him discovering his quirk. Izuku is smart enough to recognise those who only want to be friends because of his quirk, so he cuts them off. He later discovers the true function of his quirk with the energy generation being merely a side effect of it.

As for the quirk, more will be explained later about it, but let's just say that it is heavily inspired by Irene Belserion from Fairy Tail.

Anyway, I hope that you liked the chapter. Please follow, favourite and review.
