Witty Dialouge here

I can't say I slept particularly well. Nature was far preferable to being in a cheaply made bed. I sincerely missed the cool breeze of nature and I especially missed waking up without Mew's warm fur blanketing me from the cold. If he was there I probably would have fallen right back asleep. I could always rewind time if I overslept. Dialga wouldn't even scold me for it, she's abused her powers for far pettier reasons than a few extra hours of sleep. So if she wanted me to stop, then she should stop using her powers to make Palkia lose all their bets.

Eh the extra sleep wasn't really worth it if I wasn't going to enjoy the extra free time. Looking around Mesprit was still sound asleep. Latias however had vanished entirely, probably going to make sure Rayquaza isn't too stressed from Groudon and Kyogre's antics. Jirachi was pretty obvious, rushed off early to make everyone breakfast. Maybe Mew and I could finally catch up with her today.

Flying out of bed I stretched the sleep out of my system. With any luck I can meet up with Suicune before Raikou drags her off for whatever absurdity he has planned for the day. To my luck I could hear her unmistakable laughter outside.

Suicune was outside laughing from Raikou's overly affectionate nuzzling. I leaned against the wall of her cabin and cleared my throat. Her laughter ceased entirely when she realized I was watching. Raikou however greeted me with the same enthusiasm he had for anything. "Hiya Celebi! Did you sleep well?" I shrugged, not the worst I've ever had. Except I was curious where Mew was, he might have been caught up in someone else's mistreatment or worse. No, stay calm. He's probably just sleeping in. Well if I was going to talk with Suicune about what happened yesterday this was my chance. I motioned to Suicune that I would like to have a private chat and she nodded. Turning to Raikou she spoke in an authoritative yet equally gentle tone, "Raikou, why don't you fetch some breakfast for us." He gave an enthusiastic nod and darted off without an ounce of hesitation. I waited for him to be completely out of earshot. No need to drag outside parties into personal matters. "I know what happened with Mew yesterday."

Suicune's expression remained stoic and refined. Speaking plainly, "I'm just keeping an eye out for you." To a certain degree I could understand wanting to look out for me, but this was overstepping any sort of boundary that was necessary.

"I appreciate your concerns, but please keep your eye's on your dummy." Suicune has never been the biggest fan of Mew. In spite of how similar he and Raikou were. Her tone with him had arguably grown even more hostile since we started dating. Her response was measured and as reasonable as I came to expect from Suicune. "I don't think I will ever approve of your relationship with him, but he makes you happy. So I guess I can relate to that."

"Thank you. Just try to ease up on him if you can." She grumbled but otherwise accepted with one last caveat, "I will… but I'm not apologizing for anything until he does the same for all of his antics." Fair enough, I'll have to get those pieces in place but the end result should be that encouragement Mew needs and a good step in the right direction in general for the two of them. That was just about everything I wanted to say regarding what happened yesterday.

Still there was something odd about how Suicune was acting; her twin tails were resting around her stomach. It was admittedly a long shot, but it was also a means to test out this trick Mew had been teaching me. "Before I go I wanted to take the time to congratulate the two of you." Her brow raised in confusion, but there was this unmistakable shock in her eyes. I was onto something after all, then all I had to do was goad her a little further, "So, you gonna name the baby Lois?" She allowed her demeanor to momentarily shatter to laugh at the absurdity of such an idea. "Of course not, I would never name my child after a buzzsaw… Even though Raikou insisted numerous times that it was a perfect name." I really was joking, I didn't think he'd genuinely suggest that for a name, nevermind doing it more than once. Suicune's carmine eyes shifted back from amusement to a curious stare. She spoke nervously with a twinge of malicious intent. "How did you learn about that? We've been keeping it on the down low for over three months now." I leaned in close to whisper my secret source of information. She mirrored my movement wanting to respect my dignity and so she could know who to profusely blackmail in the future for revenge. "I didn't. You just told me." Suicune's fearsome red eyes shrunk to nearly indiscernible dots. Her face turned scarlet out of frustration and embarrassment. I grinned back at her, happy in the knowledge that for once she had been lured into a trap to reveal a personal secret about herself.

"Mew taught me how to get a bunch of useful information with words like that~" Suicune's eyes twitched repeatedly at the revelation that Mew's techniques not only outsmarted her, but managed to do it so effortlessly. What she said following that only made it all the more entertaining, "I take back what I said, Mew is a terrible influence on you." I had a really good laugh at that response. She wasn't in any danger of me spilling that information, not without good reason at least.

I rushed off before Suicune could take any possible revenge. I had to make sure Mew was unharmed and get that meeting between the two set up. My mind began rushing with anxiety. He couldn't have gotten into yet another encounter already

Oh thank Arceus he was unharmed. Those fears evaporated and I took the time to recompose myself. I couldn't let Mew see me in such a state. If he did he would start excessively doting on me. Just like when that human possessed me to become a monstrosity of rotting tree bark. He just showed up when the news reached him and he refused to leave no matter how many times I demanded him to. I had all but accepted he had just moved in and I'd be stuck with him for the rest of time. Every night I hoped that he would be gone when I woke up and each day I would wake up and have to deal with whatever nonsense he caused. Until the day where he really had left. It was actually because of Suicune too, she had a 'talk' with Mew about how he was only causing me more stress.

The thing that really seemed to strike a chord with him was the last thing she said to him. "Stop being such an embarrassing counterpart to her already." He didn't have some annoying witty retort and he didn't brush it off like it was nothing. He stared off into space for a bit and then left without a word.

I was thankful back then, but Arceus I never would have imagined how much I wound up missing him. By the next time I saw him he was back to his old self. I wonder how much of that was a mask. Even now I wasn't certain… Looking back at the whole event I probably would have said he could stay if he wanted. Oh well that's the past and Dialga wouldn't let me tamper with it to such a degree, no matter how badly I sometimes wanted to. Instead I could focus on Mew in the present.

He looked to be having a civilized conversation with Uxie. I cleared my throat and both turned to face me. Mew's face lit up with joy. In an instant he became a blur of pink and I felt his warm embrace. Less than a second to close the distance, his fastest time yet. I returned the gesture in kind. "I missed you too." Uxie floated over and gave a quick bow as a form of greeting.

"So what were you two talking about?" Uxie shrugged with his tails and with a sly grin informed me, "Oh nothing, I was just keeping him out of trouble until you arrived." Mew sputtered in response trying to assure me he's been behaving. "Easy Mew, I believe you." He relaxed ever so slightly and steadied his breathing. "Is…he OK?" I could only imagine what Uxie was thinking hearing Mew's panicked breathing. "Yeah, he just gets a little spooked sometimes." After 47 seconds of recomposing himself he attempted to say something. Which was abruptly cut off by the unmistakable pitch of Kyogre.

"WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING WITH THAT YOU OBNOXIOUS SHRIMP!"

Manaphy had somehow managed to piss her off again. "How in the world does he even manage to make her so angry without even trying." Mew cleared his throat and my attention returned to him. He was giving me a look that could best be described as, 'really?'. My face turned completely red at the obvious nature of the answer.

"S-shut up! Y-you're different!" That sly grin returned, he knew he won that little exchange.

"I think he does it on purpose." Our attention turned to Uxie. Seeing how he had us curious he continued, "Well he is not strong enough to do much against her when she mistreats him. So what would be the most effective way to get revenge?" No… there's no way… "Oh that's hilarious! If I knew about that I'd have helped him get away with it."

"Don't even think about it Mew!" He tensed and hastily began sputtering again, "I-I won't! It's just funny if it's true…" A certain part of me couldn't disagree with that. I also couldn't deny that it was entirely possible. Still I wasn't going to let him think he could go around provoking Kyogre. That was just a recipe for tsunamis and torrential rainstorms.

"Now I suggest we go get some breakfast before Kyogre totally destroys everything and Jirachi has to make everything again." The mention of food and Jirachi set a fire in Mew's belly. One that had him practically fly off with me holding onto him as tightly as my arms would allow. He must have wanted to see Jirachi again just as badly as I wanted to. So rather than slow him down I only had a single thing to say, "Faster Mew!" Hearing my encouragement we became a blur of colors to everyone around us. It was high time the three of us got to spend some quality time together after so many years.

This was a very eventful start to the day proper. It started innocently enough with Manaphy absentmindedly grabbing the last cinnamon roll from a tray. Then in the blink of an eye Kyogre was trying to tear him apart for daring to grab the pastry. Groudon had to literally hold her back. Using all of his weight to keep her in place. She continued to flail wildly, snapping her jaw at him and screaming foul curses. Rayquaza wasn't doing anything to stop the matter, he was drinking his coffee and ignoring whatever problems these next two weeks would be delivering him.

The young prince was completely ignoring her, happily eating his breakfast. I swear he had this malicious joy in his eyes when he saw how much this act alone was pissing her off. Once he was finished he hopped over to me. "Hey Jirachi, that was delicious!" Did he seriously not notice how infuriated that was making Kyogre? Well I wasn't going to turn down free praise for all the work I've been doing. "Thank you, is there anything else I can do for you?" He tapped his chin and I kind of hoped he didn't. I really only asked to be polite. I may enjoy this kind of work, but that didn't mean I wasn't also feeling hungry.

I never did hear what he had to say. A sudden force knocked me clean out of my hover. It flew me straight into the sky, twirling repeatedly in large circles. Said force had locked me in an iron death grip of a hug and was vigorously chanting my name.

"Hi Mew…"

"OK, down boy. We're not here to crush her." Celebi chided to our very affectionate counterpart. "But it's Jirachi, and I missed her!" Some things about Mew were just never going to change. There were so few instances where he didn't greet me in such a way. "I missed her too, but you can't snap her in two." With great reluctance he loosened his grip on me. "Good to see you guys too… You can let go now Mew."

He shook his head and maintained his grip, "Sorry Jira. But I gotta make sure you don't go anywhere. How else can I make sure we spend the day together?" I looked at Celebi for some help with prying him off. "Sorry but unless you promise to stick around I'm afraid my hands are tied."

"OK OK, you just had to ask Mew." The bone crushing force returned with his joyous cries. "Ack… Celebi…" She quietly flew over and with a simple tap to Mew's shoulder he was back to his senses. He finally let go and I could breathe normally again. "This is going to be awesome! We're going to have so much fun today!" I looked to Celebi silently asking if he had already forgotten Arceus had plans for the day. She simply shrugged and we made an unspoken agreement to let him be happy. At least until Arceus' plans for the day put an end to whatever absurd activities he had in mind.

"Uh guys… can you continue this talk closer to the ground?" A sudden realization struck as we all turned to see Manaphy clinging to one of my ribbons. He must have been caught up in the force of Mew's entrance. Said pink feline immediately brought the sea prince into our conversation. "Hi Manaphy! Would you say this is higher than when Kyogre batted you away like a baseball?" "MEW!" While I gave the only response I could deliver in that instance, Celebi wordlessly smacked him on the back of the head. His demeanor completely changed and he let out a sheepish, "Sorry…"

"YES! EASILY! PLEASE GROUND!" At that point we made a hasty return to the ground Manaphy so desperately desired contact with. Unfortunately for Manaphy Kyogre was still fuming and refused to take her eyes off him. Despite no longer needing to cling to my ribbons for safety. He maintained as tight a grip as his flippers could perform. I couldn't just leave him like this, even if it would mean this reunion with Mew and Celebi wouldn't be as private as the both of them hoped. "I know it was meant to be the three of us… but… think we can let Manaphy tag along? At least until Kyogre cools off." Celebi nodded with a shrug and Mew responded exactly how I expected him to. "Oh! A double date sounds awesome!" I shook my head and sighed, he really would try to pair me up with anybody for the slightest of reasons. "Come on Mew, we're not here just to tease Jirachi." He folded his arms and pouted again. "Fiiiiine…"

Then his eyes shifted to where Manaphy was hiding and that insidious gleam returned. My third eye was twitching and my ribbons furled and uncoiled knowing this 'game' wasn't going to end.

"Hey c'mon Manaphy. What do you gotta say? You wanna go on a date right? It would be real fun with Jirachi right? How could you say no to such a pretty face?" Celebi tried to hide her laughing under her breath and poor Manaphy was left completely flummoxed by Mew's bombardment of questions. "You guys are worse than Articuno." I shook my head trying to stifle my own laughter. "Seriously though, I'll figure that stuff out on my own. Plus would you guys honestly want to spend the day trying to play this game with me. Again?" Mew nodded his head without an ounce of hesitation and without taking his eyes off Manaphy.

At least Celebi seemed to be listening to me. She was tapping her finger to her chin and had her eyes closed in contemplation. With a simple hum she opened her cyan eyes and addressed Mew, "OK Mew, that's enough. For real this time." On Celebi's instructions Mew dutifully returned to her side. Phew, that was one crisis averted.

I motioned for the two to follow me and their eyes lit up. Manaphy had absolutely no idea what was going on. A secret stash of goodies I made for scenarios just like this one. "Well you know better than any of us that with Groudon AND Kyogre, breakfast can be a little bit of a trial. Sooooo I made sure to have an extra pot of tea and an arrangement of breakfast goodies stowed away." His eyes lit up to match my counterparts at this point. "Just promise me that it won't go missing or get dunked in a blanket of frosting." Mew's eyes darted away at the mention of the chaos he created last meeting. Manaphy nodded eagerly then just as quickly he appeared to backspace on what he wanted.

"Something the matter? Don't you want anything Manaphy?" He hastily shook his head, "I'm pretty sure if I do Kyogre will get my head mounted wherever she calls home." That elicited a light chuckle from all of us. "Oh I wouldn't worry about that, this is our little secret. Right guys?" Celebi gave a simple thumbs up while Mew nodded enthusiastically. With the extra layer of reassurance Manaphy's cautious guard dropped. "Are there any more cinnamon rolls?"

Another two in one for all of you. In case it isn't obvious I am terrible at writing these little segments and dread this part of the process the absolute most.

As always please leave a review and have a good day.
