"My dad's gone for the week," Touya said excitedly to Tenko as the walked from class towards the front after school had ended one afternoon. "He had some super important mission the the commission wanted him on, and it's a ways away so he won't be back till next week. You know what that means?"

Tenko smiled. "Sleepover?"

"Yes!" Touya gave him two thumbs up on his own. "But, get this, if your parents will let you, I finally got Fuyumi to agree. You and Izuku are free to stay the weekend with us!"

Tenko's eyes widened. "Really?" He'd only seen their house from the outside a few times while dropping Touya off, and have seen Fuyumi or Natsuo even less. It seemed a bit intimidating staying there with them for so long, especially when it's just a bunch of kids basically.

But at the same time, it would be a lot of fun. Oriya and told him about there pool and video games and all that, and Izuku had always wanted to see Shoto's room.

"Yeah, ask your dad if you guys can come. I also have something really cool I wanna show the both of you!"

"Ok, I'll ask when we get home."

Turns out Inko's no Hisashi we're both ok with it, just as long as Tenko was sure to call or text if they needed any help. They were surprisingly willing to leave a bunch of kids and teenagers alone in a house, but he supposed they knew that the Todoroki kids were used to taking care of themselves, and they would be fine.

So that's what resulted in Inko dropping the two of them off at the Todoroki house, along with Touya, Friday evening after school. Tenko and Izuku had a backpack and a suitcase between them of what they would need until Sunday evening, when Inko would come back to pick them up before school the next day.

"I brought guests, twerps!" Touya yelled as soon as he practically kicked the door front door open.

There was a crashing sound from in the kitchen. "Touya!" Whined a female voice Tenko knew belonged to Fuyumi. "You made me drop a dish! You're lucky it was metal!"

"You should know not to handle dishes when I'm bound to make my entry!"

The girl huffed, and Tenko smirked while Izuku giggled, stepping inside and carrying the backpack, while Tenko dragged the suitcase. Both boys took a minute to observe the house, or at least the entrance of it.

The home had a very traditional Japanese style, simple, but somehow managing to look extremely expensive. Maybe it was the size. The roof was low, but he could already see so many hallways and doors leading in different directions, it looked like a maze. Izuku stared slack-jawed.

It was a huge difference to their small two bedroom apartment. No wonder Touya had called their house small when he first came over.

"Izu?" All heads turned towards the hallway in front of them, where a certain dual-haired boy was peeking out at them.

"Shoto!" Izuku dropped the backpack on the floor and sprinted over to the boy, wrapping him in a hug. "Hi! How are you? It's been so long since I saw you!"

"We saw each the a few days ago," Shoto sounded amused and a bit incredulous.

Izuku giggled. "I know! So long!"

Shoto gave a small smile and hugged Izuku back.

Tenko smiled at Touya, who smiled back.

"Zuku, don't leave your stuff on their floor," Tenko playfully scolded.

The green haired boy squeaked and quickly let go, running back over to pick the backpack back up. "Sorry!"

"All good, bud," Touya replied.

"Are you sleeping with Touya and me or in Shoto's room?"

Izuku blinked, seemingly surprised by the choice. "I can sleep with Shoto?"

"If he's ok with it."

Izuku turned back to Shoto, who shrugged and nodded, so Izuku turned back around.

"Alright, but um…" he looked hesitant, looking down and shifting a bit.

After a second, Tenko realized why. "We'll show you where Touya's room is, and if you can't sleep you can come in there, ok?"

Izuku looked relieved and smiled, nodding.

"Come on, I'll show you guys my room, and you can set your stuff down," Touya said before starting down a hall to the left. Izuku, Tenko, and even Shoto followed.

A couple twists and turns and a set of stairs later lead them to a very plain looking bedroom, aside from the- wow, All Might merch. The only thing Touya had chose to decorate his bedroom with was his father's enemy.

Tenko couldn't help it, he started cackling, and Touya smiled proudly. "It keeps my dad out of here," he explained smugly.

Izuku just looked in awe, still obsessed with the hero. Shoto kept his blank expression in place.

"You like All Might, Touya?" Izuku asked excitedly

"Love him," Touya grinned.

Tenko was dying.

—-

"Did you bring your notebook like I said to?" Touya asked.

Izuku's eyes went wide. "Oh, yeah!" He jumped off of Touya's bed and ran over to the backpack in the corner, unzipping it and pulling out a small notebook titled Hero Analysis No. 6. "Here it is."

Touya nodded and gave him a thumbs up.

"I give up," Tenko grumbled from where he stood next to Touya. "I can't figure out what on earth you'd want to show us that has to be outside, late at night, after everyone else is asleep, and requires Izuku's notebook."

Touya huffed. "You're not very smart then, it's not that hard."

Tenko squawked.

"Be quiet," Touya chuckled. "If we wake anyone up we're done for. Although either of the boys would be better than Fuyumi."

Tenko rolled her eyes. "Fine, whatever. Let's just go."

They exited the bedroom into the dark hallway. They'd didn't dare turn any lights on, but luckily the house left enough windows open for the light of the full moon to shine through and light their way pretty well. They sneaked through as quietly as they could, down the stairs, through the halls, and finally out the front door.

Everyone let out a collective sigh of relief when Touya finally got the door shut after very, very slowly pulling it closed. Then Touya began to lead them to the side of the house and through the woods, towards the clearing where he's been practicing his fire for the last few months in secret.

"I'm super excited to show you both this, especially you Izuku, your going to love it!"

The little greenie looked up at him with curious excitement. "Does it have to do with your quirk? Is that why you asked me to bring my notebook?"

Touya had to hold back a chuckle at the Oh noise Tenko made, like he was just now realizing that. His 8 year old brother was smarter than him, awesome.

"Yeah, it does. I finally figured out to do something you gave me an idea for a while back."

Izuku grinned. "What is it?"

"I'll show you, now that we're here."

He pushed a few branches to the side, revealing a large clearing between the trees, the moonlight lighting up the area. It was perfect for practicing fire, and the only clearing in the forest big enough for him to not risk catching trees on fire.

"Is this where you've been practicing?" Tenko asked, looking around the area.

"Mhm. I also come here sometimes to just relax, it's really peaceful out here."

They all take a minute to appreciate the pure silence, aside from the gentle breeze and the crickets in the trees.

"It is," Tenko agreed.

Izuku, seemingly tired of waiting, spun to Touya, practically bouncing on his toes and grinning. "Show me, show me! Which idea is it? Was it creating fire and keeping it just above your hand so it doesn't burn it so bad? Or changing the temperature to make it cooler and not burn as bad?"

Touya smiled fondly. He loved this little boy almost as much as Shoto at this point. He was like another little brother, and the rambling about quirks was too darn cute.

"Not quite. The second guess was close, but I didn't figure out how to lower the temperature." He kneeled down to be at the boy's height and smiled. "But I did figure out how to raise it."

He held his hand out, palm facing up, and activated his quirk, creating a flame that danced across his palm and fingers like a little dance. The only difference between his normal fire and it, was that this was blue.

Just like the drawing he'd seen in Izuku's notebook years ago.

Izuku's eyes sparkled as he watched the flame. "Blue fire. You made your fire blue!"

Touya grinned and nodded. "My fire was already hotter than my father's, it just needed to be a little bit hotter to change into a blue flame. How cool is that?"

Izuku squealed. "That's so cool! This means you can change the temperature, if only a little. It'll at least help with the burning if you can make it cooler. And it'll also set you largely apart from other heroes with fire powers, being how common it is. I wonder if you could make other colors too, signifying different temperatures? Blue is the hottest, but there's also white, and violet."

The ramble devolved into incoherent, near silent muttering that Touya had learned to expect from the boy. It was a habit he'd developed in the last few years, but it had become a common occurrence since."

"Won't that burn you worse?" Tenko asked, from where he still stood above them both. He was watching Touya with an expression Touya couldn't read.

Touya put out the flames. "Maybe, but it's fine, I can handle a little burn."

Tenko's mouth twisted unhappily at that, but all he said was, "Be careful."

Touya nodded at him with a smirk. "Since when am I not careful?"

Tenko huffed and rolled his eyes.

Touya stood up and relit the flame, watching it with a smile. "I'm Galen show dad once he gets back."

Tenko looked up at him, eyes wide. "Your gonna what?"

Touya looked up at him too, still smiling excitedly. "I'm gonna show him. He'll have to be impressed when he see's this, he'll have to realize I'm not weak. He'll finally look at me, Tenko! This is what I've been needing! This will make everything better!"

Tenko grabbed onto his shoulders and looked at him seriously. "Or it will make things ten times worse. He hates that you get burned by your quirk that's why he forbid you from using it. If he finds out you've been secretly training, and that's you figured out how to do something with your fire that will make the burns worse how do you think he'll react? Do you honestly think this'll just fix everything he's done to you, Touya?"

Touya blinked at him, smile fallen. They stayed at each other for a moment, neither one quite registering the sudden absence of muttering.

"It has to," Touya finally whispered. "This is the last chance I have, Tenko. If there's any chance this will help, I have to try. This is all I have left. I need him to look at me."

Something changed in Tenko's expression, and Touya couldn't identify it before it disappeared as fast as it appeared.

Finally, Tenko let go of his shoulders and took a step back. "Fine. But if he hurts you…"

"He won't," Touya tried to smile reassuringly, but Tenko just looked pained.

Then he sighed again and turned back towards the house. "Let's just go back, I think we're all pretty tired."

So the three of them walked back in silence.

Tenko was wrong. Dad would finally believe in him after this. He had to.

It didn't matter that his gut was twisting with dread that things were about to go seriously wrong.

No, that was just his imagination. Tenko was wrong. This would work.

This was it.
