The Three Protectors, who were still trying to come up with a better name, all stood in the schoolyard with Cujo sitting on the ground in his puppy form.
"Okay, I know Cujo is looking for something, but can he give us a chance to help him?" Danny asked.
"You said before that Ghost dogs are a lot more entertaining than regular dogs," Charlie said, keeping an eye out for Valerie.
"Now that we know why he keeps coming back, we should do something before "Miss-Angry and I want to shoot you" comes back," Emily said, sighing.
"All this is my fault, sort of. I suppose I should do something to help Valerie after I figure out what to do with Cujo." Danny said, still feeling bad.
Charlie and Emily both touch his shoulders before he smiles. He soon pulls out the book before looking at Cujo.
"Go on, boy. Go get it!" Danny told him.
Only to see him sitting there, confused.
"Wrong saying," Emily told him.
"I mean, fetch!" Danny said, pointing.
Cujo runs off, making the three follow him.
"Much better." Charlie smiles, following them.
It didn't take long to follow Cujo, but the three were shocked to see him lead them back to Axion Labs. They soon found Cujo trying to dig through the wall.
"The lab? What you're looking for is in there?" Danny asked, surprised.
"Wait, what if Cujo lives here?" Emily asked.
"Yeah, like he was a guard dog?" Charlie added.
Before anyone could answer, Danny heard someone walking towards them.
"Someone's coming! Girls, grab on!" Danny said, picking up Cujo before covering his mouth.
Charlie and Emily touch Danny's shoulders before turning them invisible. They soon saw Damon Grey and his boss walking past.
"I appreciate the second chance, sir." He told his boss.
"As long as nothing else happens, we'll see about reinstating your contract. I knew we never should have gotten rid of those guard dogs." His Boss said.
After they passed them, Danny dropped his power and groaned.
"Valerie's dad? Oh, great." He groans.
"I got to remember to talk to Sera about this. It's not Mr. Grey's fault that the security failed to catch us. They were meant to be used on humans, not ghosts, demons, or angels." Emily said.
"Yeah. Maybe it could help Valerie too." Charlie added.
"Come on, girls. We need a plan." Danny said, flying them out.
Emily's home,
Before they had to get ready to help Cujo out, Emily wanted to take care of her business real fast. Hopefully, it would get Valerie off Danny's back for a while. She enters Sera's office and sees her looking at the papers.
"Sera?"
She looks up, a bit surprised to see Emily.
"Emily! What can I do for you?" She asked, glad to get away from the papers.
"I was wondering if you heard about what happened with the Grays? About Mr. Gray getting fired?" She asked.
"I know," Sera said, getting up.
"I'm fully aware that Mr. Gray was fired because the security failed to stop a group of teenagers and a dog from breaking in. However. that man failed to understand that the security was made to stop humans. Not the Trinty and ghost dog." Sera said.
"The Trinty?" Emily asked, confused.
Sera sighed, not knowing she let that slip. But she did have something to deal with.
"I can assure you, Mr. Gray and his daughter will have justice for their mistake. It might not fully give them their money back, but it will make their lives a bit more easier. Plus, Miss. Grey is still in trouble for slapping Lucifer's daughter." Sera said.
"Okay, as much as I dislike Valerie, she has to understand that the life she had before wasn't the best way. Just because me and Charlie are rich, doesn't mean we have to act like big shots." Emily added.
"I know," Sera asked before her phone speaker turned on.
"Mrs. Seraphim, your 3 o'clock cancelled."
"Jance! I told you, it's MS. Seraphim! I'm not married!" Sera shouted, groaning.
"The Trinty?" Emily said, thinking.
"Is there anything else, Emily?" Sera asked.
"No, thank you," Emily said, getting ready to leave.
"OH! Did the shirts come in? The ones with Dumpty Humpty on them?" She asked, turning back around.
"They did. I never understood why you three like a band named after a nursery rhyme." Sera said, shaking her head.
"At least they don't try to take over the world." Emily giggles, leaving.
Later,
The three met up, ready to do what they could to help Cujo and maybe help Valerie.
"Okay. Good news, there's only one guard. Bad news, it's Valerie's dad." Danny said as Cujo sat next to him.
"We now know that Cujo is looking for something in the Axion Labs," Charlie added as Razzle and Dazzle flew next to her.
"So, that brings up the question, what do we do?" Emily asked.
"It is kind of dangerous all three of us go in..." Danny started.
"No way, Danny!" The girls said, surprising him.
"I just saw Valerie joining her dad tonight. Once she's aware that you're there, you're going to need backup!" Charlie said.
"And don't talk us out of this!" Emily added.
Danny sighed before Emily spoke again.
"And don't you dare turn invisible on us just to do this alone!" She added.
Danny flinched, surprised she saw his plan before he could pull it off.
"Razzle, Dazzle, do you think you can stay here with Cujo?" Charlie asked them.
They both nodded before they started to play with Cujo.
"Okay, let's..." Emily started before seeing that Danny had flown off without them.
"DANIEL!" She shouted, taking off after him.
Charlie shook her head, they really need to talk to Danny about this. It's like he forgets he wasn't the only person with powers.
Inside Axion Labs,
Damon stood ready for his job as Valerie worked on her homework.
"Think I'll go and pick us up a little late-night snack. Will you be okay, honey? You got stuff to do?" Damon asked her.
"I'm fine, daddy. I've got everything I need, right here." Valerie said, patting her backpack.
She heard something misfire, making her father peek back in.
"Valerie?"
"I'm okay!"
With Danny,
Danny soon phases back into the labs, looking around.
"I wish I knew what I was looking for." He said, only for a pink blast to blast him away.
"Back to the scene of the crime?" Valerie asked, flying up in her ghost gear.
"Trying to find something, actually!" Emily said, kicking Valerie's gun from her hand.
"Why are you helping him?!" Valerie shouted.
"There's a big difference between messing with someone and accidentally messing up someone's life!" Emily told her.
"He ruined my life! He has to pay for it! But him and his dog!" Valerie shouted, shooting a shoulder cannon at Danny.
He was saved when Charlie tackled him out of the way.
"Don't try playing the lone wolf, next time." She told him before facing Valerie.
"Fine! If you won't see my side, then I'll just blast you all!" Valerie shouted, shooting at them.
As the fighting happens, Cujo whines as he knew his new friends where in trouble. He turned to Razzle and Dazzle who nodded with him. All three of them suddenly transform into bigger forms, each looking more monstrous. They soon rush down to Axion Labs, ready to defend their masters.
Charlie fires a fireball at Valerie, missing her.
"You're a pretty lousy shot." She noted.
"That's because I'm not trying to hit you. Can't we talk?" Charlie asked.
"I'm done talking!" Valerie said, charging at her.
Danny grabs Charlie and pulls her out of the way. Valerie crashes into the wall before she sees Cujo, Razzle, and Dazzle appear.
"Razzle?! Dazzle?" Charlie asked, surprised to see him in their demonic forms.
"Whoa! Since when can they do that?" Emily asked.
There was no time to answer, Danny set Charlie down before grabbing Valerie, having a strong feeling those three would attack her.
"Let me go!" Valerie shouted, making Danny roll his eyes.
"You're welcome." He said, doing just that.
Valerie landed on her feet before shooting at Danny, missing and hitting the alarm.
"You and your stupid dog ruined everything, and you're going to pay! You and every ghost like you." She shouted, firing another shot.
She was able to hit Danny this time and knocked him through a wall.
"Is that your only reason to hunt him?! Because your life was ruined?!" Emily shouted.
"You're still holding on to that life you had before Valerie! They kicked you out the minute you went broke! What makes you think they won't do it again?!" Charlie shouted.
"How do you know..." Valerie started before hearing a few growls behind her.
She turned and saw Cujo, Razzle, and Dazzle, all growling at her. She screams as Charlie and Emily stand there.
"Aren't you two heroes?! Help me!" She shouted.
"Why?" They asked, crossing their arms.
Suddenly, a squeak was heard, making Cujo turn to see Danny holding a pink teddy bear that squeaks.
"Here, boy! Is this what you've been looking for?" Danny asked, making Cujo wag his tail as he looked happy.
Valerie tried to sneak away but was stopped by Razzle and Dazzle. Cujo also notices her and growls. Only for a squeak to draw him away from her.
"No, no, no! It's okay!" Danny said, flying over, holding the toy in front of him.
"Do you want your squeaky? Huh? Oh, do you? Here you go." Danny said, throwing it.
"Now, please, just go home and stay there!" He added, seeing Cujo shink back down to his puppy form as he caught it.
Cujo looks back at his new friends, seeing Razzle and Dazzle wave as he goes back to the Ghost Zone.
"I'm going to miss that little pup." Emily smiles, glad to see Cujo have what he was looking for.
"How did you know that is what Cujo wanted?" Charlie asked.
"Due to Valerie blasting me, I learned a few things. One, I crash-landed in the old Dog Kennel. Two, I discovered that Cujo used to be a Guard Dog." Danny said, sighing.
"WHAT?!" Charlie and Emily shouted, shocked.
"Then that means..." Emily said, horrified.
"Yeah..." Danny said, looking down.
"And you thought it was just messing with you?! Charlie asked Valerie.
Valerie blinks, surprised herself.
"Look, I know you're angry, but that's not my dog, and I'm sorry about whatever happened to you. Not all ghosts are evil." Danny told her.
"Yeah?" Valerie said, pulling up a gun.
"And not all humans are saps. Huh?" She said, getting ready to fire.
Only for Charlie to crush her gun and slap her. Danny and Emily look at her before Emily smiles.
"You wanted to get back to her for that, did you?" She asked.
"Unlike before, I actually have a reason," Charlie said, smirking.
"Valerie?"
They all heard Valerie's dad and nodded. Charlie had Razzle and Dazzle change back to normal as Emily removed Valere's ghost-hunting suit. Danny saw Damon and his boss walk in, surprised to see them.
"Great the teens and their bird are back." His boss said, glaring at Damon.
"I'm not a bird!" Emily told him.
"First and foremost, sir. We're not here to cause trouble. We were helping another ghost find something they were looking for." Danny said.
"Second, we were also keeping Valerie Gray safe since the ghost saw her as a threat," Emily added.
"And lastly, the ghosts have already left and we were checking on Ms. Grey when you two came in," Charlie said, shocking Valerie.
"And clear to show proof of your reasons?" Damon's boss asked.
"They have the proof."
They all turned and saw Sera walk up, surprising Emily.
"Here's your proof." She said, showing them the video.
They saw the fight and how the three defended themself, not wanting to hurt Valerie, though Damon didn't know Valerie was the Hunter. She ended the clip before turning to Damon's Boss.
"I also heard that you fired Mr. Gray for failing to catch these three. Your security is meant to capture humans. Not ghosts, demons, or angels." Sera said, glaring at him.
"But there's no such thing!" Damon's boss said.
"Oh? You don't think we're real?" Emily asked, glaring.
"Phantom?" Charlie asked, making him nod.
"Tell me, do you know anyone that could do this?" Danny asked, turning invisible.
"Or this?" Charlie asked, summoning a fireball.
"Or this?" Emily added, making her eyes appear on her chest and halo.
"And there is no trick of light. Mr. Gray," Sera said before turning to Damon.
"I might not give you your full life back, but I can assure you that your life will be a bit easier soon. I would also like to warn you that if your daughter ever slaps Lucifer's daughter or hurts her in any way, he will be suing you for the harassment." She told him.
"T-Thank you!" Damon said, shocked.
"But, but," His boss started, only for Sera to glare at him.
"This is your second warning. I fired you before. Don't make me fire you again!" Sera told him.
She looked up to see that the Trinty had already left, making her smile. Even if she let it slip, they still didn't know the full story, but that was fine with her.
The next day,
"Know where the dog went?" Emily asked.
"Nope," Danny said, shaking his head.
"Gonna play it a little safer now that Valerie the Ghost Slayer is around?" Charlie asked.
"Yep," Danny said, nodding his head.
They saw Valerie walk past them and the A-Lister's table. Not knowing that Vlad appeared and sent down a box before disappearing.
"I just wish I knew where she got those weapons," Danny added.
"I just wish she sees that she can't take her problems out on Ghost because of bad luck." Emily sighs.
"Well, I don't know where she got the weapons, but I think I know where she got some extra cash. Remember those concert tickets she sold on the internet?" Charlie said, shocking them.
"You bought her tickets?" Danny asked.
"Now that I had my payback, I was willing to let bygones be bygones," Charlie said, smiling.
"I got the shirts too!" Emily said, holding them up.
"Have I ever told you two that you are the best friends a guy could have?" Danny smiles.
Dumpty Humpty Concert,
They all dance to the music, wearing the shirt Emily at them. Next to them were Dash, Kwan, and Paulina, looking glum in their matching Dumpty-Humpty tees. But the other three didn't care.
"I can't believe we're sitting next to those losers!" Charlie said, taking a jab at them.
Paulina growls before stomping away, not even caring about the music. She enters the bathroom, growling at what happening. Ever since Fenton joined those two brats, he no longer paid attention to her. Not that she liked him, but she did like using him as a servant when Dash had him. Until the moron lost him. She really hated Emily due to her kindness and caring for others. Not to mention she was voted the second prettiest girl in the school.
The one she hated most of all was Charlie. She could hardly believe that Charlie came from a family that ran a circus and became rich by doing so. If she thought Manson was annoying, then Charlie would just piss her off just by being near her. Paulina growls, getting angrier at the group that was so much better than her.
"It's not fair. I'm the queen Of Casper High. That dork and his stupid friends should be bowing to me!" She shouted.
"Well, Your Majesty, how do you expect to keep your crown if ya can't even get a dork like him to fall for you?"
Paulina jumped before she turned around, seeing a tall dark-skinned woman with makeup like a bit of a clown with red hair shaped in pigtails and white swirls in them like a cinnamon bun. She basically looked like some kind of real-life doll.
"Eek! Who are you?" She screams as Velvet appears before her.
"Names Velvette of the 4Vs or Vs luv. And do I have a deal for you." She said, smiling.
And that ends Shades of Gray. Now, as some of you noticed, I did take in the part of Valerie and her Father getting fired on failing to catch The Trinty and Cujo as the security was capture humans, not Ghosts, Demons, or Angels. Though Valerie was stopped, she's not done with being a Ghost Hunter. Next chapter, we bring in Paulina as a Demon Hunter. Oh, and I will cover Vaggie talking to Valerie about slapping Charlie as well. After all, Vaggie isn't at all pleased with Valerie's actions.
And to the reviewer who said that they dislike Vaggie. I will not have Vaggie betray the group or suddenly die because you don't like her character. It's fine if don't like her, but don't think I going to remove a character like that. I know I'm really late on saying this, but I want to make it clear that Vaggie is a main character in my story. Even if I haven't used her that much.
Also, after I'm done with my next two hunters, Paulina and Sam, I'm not only bringing in Angel Dust, but Cherri Bomb too. Then I'll do my Brother's Keeper before wrapping up with Control Freaks. And I'll save what I have planned for that later.
